Itunes wont open...still

Okay so a while back my itunes was working perfectly normal and i wanted to update. So i did to Itunes 10.5 i belive then the error 7 (windows error 5) kept appearing. So i tried the whole uninstall and reinstall (getting rid of everything) and updating .net framework and still nothing. Recently i tried again and now my problem is the error 2 (windows error 2) apple application support not found.
Then when i try to do anything related to apple application support this pops up:
The installer has insufficent privleges to modify this file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\WebKit.resources\inspector\images\spinnerinactiveselected.gif.
I dont even know anymore can someone please helppppp

    HI,
First, there are no Mac viruses in the wild.
recently random sites have had a warning message thing come up that looks like a Norton Anti-virus telling me to run my browser in 'safe' mode or something.
So far it hasn't really done anything malicious, but I'd like to stop it before it does.
The file is an .exe file and unless you are running a Windows partition on your Mac, the Mac OS X cannot open those files. You're OK! If you are running Windows then you would need anti virus software, but it would be installed on the Windows partition, not the Mac OS X.
Nothing to be worry about. They are trying to get your to purchase anti virus software. Norton a/v for a Mac is the worst thing you could install. It's invasive and impossible to UNinstall.
You are running Snow Leopard... read here.

  • Itunes wont open need help backing up music on external hard drive

My itunes wont open after upgraded to 8 , ive uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and quicktime and still wont work. i found a topic to possibly help me but i dont know how to tranfer my music to an external disk drive without being able to open itunes. i am getting so frustrated. please help

A usb hard drive that Windows sees doesn't need software for a simple back up.
Format the hard drive Disk Management, if it doesn't come already formatted, and then drag and drop the iTunes folder and whatever other data you want to back up to it.
What you're describing doesn't sound like something iTunes did. If you're having general install troubles you have another problem with your system and it's time for a little troubleshooting to find out what's really going on.

  • ITunes wont open it says...

    iTunes wont open it says...
iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.
    HOW DO I DO THAT?
AND HOW WILL I KNOW IF IT KEEPS EVERYTHING THE SAME?

I am having the same issue today with the error message:  "The software required for this iPhone is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software".
I have done the "Repair" as you and KStyles513 suggested, and restarted my computer (did both procedures twice) but that did not work.  I am still getting the same message.  Today I get this message.
When the message appears, iTunes does open but when I click OK my iPhone dissappears from the Devices and I cannot see it again.
iTunes 10.5.2.11 is the version I currently have loaded.  I'm using a Windows XP platform, all updates are current.
What can I do to fix this?

  • Itunes wont open, tried copy .dll files and safe mode, reinstall it many many times. it just wont work.

got the lastest windows 8.1 and the itunes update recently.
itunes wont open after install of the new version.
tried many ways mentioned on the internet and the apple support communities.
still it doesnt in the "open-mood "

Same problem here.  I have Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and iTunes 11.1.5.5 and I cannot open iTunes.  I do not know of anyone who can.  This is a widely known problem by users but Apple has yet to acknowledge this issue.  There is no known solution.

  • ITunes wont open at all since incomplete update

Tried to install latest update and rec'd an error code.  Ever since then (2 days ago) itunes wont open at all.  I tried to install again via the Apple website..  Still wont open.  Should I uninstall and reinstall?  Will my library remain stored?

    Try the following:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • My itunes wont open ! No error message

My itunes wont open ! When I click on the icon nothing opens, not even an error message. Iv tried opening it from Windows Task Manager > Processes > Itunes.exe but nothing seems to work ! Itunes doesnt open when I sync my iphone either ! Please help

    Hi b,
I think I'm having the same problem as Vanessa (and a lot of others from the sound of it). When I click on my iTunes shortcut the hourglass pops up for a second and then nothing happens. I can't access the music store from the net either (I get a message that says "Loading... Please wait" and then nothing happens). I've turned off my firewall (Norton Personal Firewall 2003)and that didn't help. I tried Lorraine's fix with installing the files in Norton one by one and telling them to be permitted and that didn't work. I also tried a stand alone installation of Quicktime and that helped some (the quickTime player window does now pop up for a split second before disappearing when I click Quicktime) but I still can't access the music store. I thought I'd try your suggestion of looking in the task manager for my itunes.exe file but I can't find the task manager. Where is it?
