When I put a DVD into my drive Itunes does not recognize it. also how do I merge songs from lime wire to itunes?

If you're trying to import a movie from a DVD from your personal collection, this isn't supported by iTunes. DVDs are copyrighted materials, so they can't be imported. If you have a video file already on your computer, you should be able to use the article above to add it to your library, so long as it's a compatible video format. One of the FAQs lists the playable formats as:
iTunes:
* Video content purchased from the iTunes Store.
* QuickTime and MPEG-4 movie files that end in ".mov", ".m4v", or ".mp4" and are playable in QuickTime Player.
* Video podcasts.

My ipod won't do anything. it wont charge, turn on, the apple icon wont appear, it won't go into reset mode or dfu mode. Itunes wont recognize it, and no buttons work. The screen is black, and nothing i try will turn it on or give any sort of hope. It did this suddenly without any warning... what do i do? is there a way for me to fix it or is it beyond help?

so the girlfriend is moving in and we are consolidating to one computer. now for some reason itunes wont recognize her ipod or any others. in the past we had to problems, now all it does is freeze up until i disconnect her ipod. i tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it with no luck. any ideas on what i can do?
dont trust those dummies from genius bar there very incompetent and there techs terrible at problem solving I've figured out several problems with my ipod 30gb i used it in my car forever and it's never left my glove box i went to them for answers there was 1 problem they dint know the answer 1. was my center click stopped working i fixed that by taking it apart scratching it but i fixed it what happens is they got these rubber boots glued (not very smart)under the wheel there total of 5 of them over time if you leave your ipod in hot place the glue starts melting and rubber boot start to move. that when stops clicking
