ITunes wont run, since changed countries ?

Hi
I have just moved from NZ back to the UK, when i left NZ my iTunes account and program was working just fine. Now i am back in UK i need to change my store to UK etc, but since i been here i cant even get iTunes to run. It just gets to "not responding" instantly on startup. I read a few topics on here and tried running in safe mode, tried deleting pref files, tried the winsock reset and finally completely uninstalled iTunes and re-installed (quicktime too) and still no good, still does the "not responding" thing...
I wouldnt mind so much if it was just affecting my itunes, but i really need to download some UK apps (GPS for work etc) and without changing my counties in iTunes i am stuck on NZ store only..
If it helps my system is:
Windows 7 64bit / 4gb RAM
iTunes 10.5.3 (latest i think)
Thanks

Busy helpful forum this eh..........    /sigh

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with a Windows operating system file there.
Perhaps try an sfc /scannow. For instructions, see the following Microsoft document:

    just reinstalled itunes due to need to fix msvcr80.dll error;
now itunes wont run because itunes library.itl cant be read created by newer version itunes.
how do i resolve this ?

By way of experiment, let's first try specifically choosing a library for iTunes to open.
Quit iTunes if that error message is showing. Now hold down your Shift key, and then open iTunes. (Keep holding down the shift key while iTunes is opening.)
You should see a dialog asking you if you want to choose or create a library, as per the following screenshot:
    Click "Choose Library ..."
You should now see a screen like the following screenshot:
Select the "iTunes Library.itl" file (shown circled in the screenshot) and click "Open".
Does your iTunes library open without the error?

  • New itunes wont run in windows 7 64 bit even after full uninstall and reinstall

I'd like to see that screen if possible, stew. Could you take a screenshot of that permission message screen (Hold down Alt and press the PrtSc key), paste it into a Paint document (or similar image editor), and save the file. Then reply here, click the wee camera icon, do a Choose file, browse to the file, click "Open file", then click "Insert Image".

  • The latest itunes wont run on my computer and has deleted my whole itunes

I began to download the latest itunes as it said i had to, to sync with my ipod. So, as this was downloading it said that an older version has been found and then deleted my whole itunes worth of 1500 songs, which 300 at least of the songs were purchased. I thought ok, this will now at least download the latest itunes and i can re download the songs on itunes, however, everytime i continue to dowload itunes again, i click run and it goes through the process but nothing is coming up on my desktop. I am disgusted with my whole itunes being deleted because the new itunes struggled to download. does any body have any suggestions?

I've got the 2nd gen iTouch and every time I try to sync it simply says "unknown error(13019)" and that that it can't sync. I thought it was my protection software so I completely disabled and tried again, no luck, tried changing cables in case it got damaged some magical way, no luck, I've tried restarting, no luck, it was working fine before the update to 9.1 and now I can't do anything between my iTouch and my computer. I'm running windows Vista home premium, haven't updated that lately so there's no change from when it was working there. the only change to my comp since this new iTunes came out was the new iTunes. please help! or put out a fix, or god I don't care give me a link to the old iTunes and tell me how to get it to revert to that...

  • ITunes wont run

I can download and install itunes, the icons appear but itunes and quicktime will not run - 64 bit win7

    many thanks.
In recent times, the error-message-free iTunes and QuickTime launch failures have been indicating that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • Itunes wont run and now i lost my cd drive

I installed itunes to my windows xp computer and after the installation I tried to run the program. It would not run and now I lost my cd drive. I deleted itunes and then in order to get my drive back I would have to use the windows restore program. But, every time I try to reinstall itunes it does the same thing... program wont work and lose my cd drive. Please help me someone...

Success! I've finally got itunes up and running on my computer. What I did was go to my control panel and clicked on 'other control panel options.' Here I found the java plug-in icon which I updated, it's pretty straightforward to do that, if you click on it, you'll find the option to do that. I then clicked on the Windows start menu and on programs which said 'apple software update'. I clicked on this and it said searching for software. It found the new version of Quick Time and a security update for it. I installed both of them and double clicked on itunes and instead of expecting it to show the usual error message it started launching! I'm well pleased. My cd drive is still missing but I should be able to find a way to restore it. Hope this info helps someone who's having similar problems!

  • ITunes wont run due to Data Execution Prevention in Vista. Please help.

After trying to reinstall iTunes because I could not transfer a Word file to iTunes it will not now run.

Can you do the repair for iTunes as well and see whether you are still getting the message.
If that does not work, you have to follow steps below to uninstall and reinstall Itunes & QuickTime.
Step 1: Uninstall iTunes and QuickTime
I would suggest you to completely uninstall iTunes and QuickTime from your computer without leaving any traces of these programs on your computer. Also, uninstall any third party codecs(like K-Lite Codec) installed on your computer using the Programs and Features wizard from the Control Panel.
Removing iTunes, QuickTime and other software
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
Note: The link above also have instructions to re-install iTunes and QuickTime. Do not re-install it as of now.
Step 2: Download and install the latest version of iTunes
    www.apple.com/itunes/download
Step 3: Uninstall QuickTime from Programs and Features
Once you install iTunes, by default you'll have QuickTime installed on your computer. You'll have to uninstall QuickTime from Programs and features.
How to uninstall a program in Windows Vista Programs and Features?
Step 4: Download and install the Standalone version of QuickTime

Now check if you’re able to execute iTunes without having any problem.

  • HT1725 my itunes wont open since downloading new ios7 software, what do I do :(

since downloading the new ios software my itunes store will not open, it does for a split second then disappears my apps store and everything else opens HELP please would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried closing the iTunes store app via the multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open ti : double-click the home button to open the bar and then swipe the iTunes app up from there and off the top of the screen, and then click the home button to close the bar
If that doesn't fix it then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

  • Itunes wont run because it says i am missing file: MSVCR80.dll help?

so ive recently deleted and reinstalled my iTunes due to an error with the program. both before the delete and after the reinstall it would not open and an error message would pop up on the screen saying that file MSVCR80.dll was missing from my computer.
not sure what that means but i would like to be able to access my media again. help?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • ITunes wont work since new computer

I had iTunes on my old computer and I just got a new computer and downloaded iTunes. I logged into iTunes but none of my songs are showing up, and I'm scared that if i plug my iPod into the computer that all of my songs will dissapear. Is there anyone who can tell me how to get my songs back without deleting all of them off of my iPod?

Your iTunes songs will be on the old computers hard drive, so you'll need to transfer them over to the new computer. You can plug your iPod into your new computer, it wont delete the tunes on it, but I dont think you can swap them from your iPod to iTunes very easily.
Look at these two threads which are related to transfering the files from ipod to itunes.

  • ITunes wont run in games (on PC, not iPod)

If I setup my iTunes with a random song, start a game then the song goes totally crazy and skips many parts of the song leaving a noicy voice when it does so.
So I really wont use it cause I want my ears in good shape some years still.
This happended JUST when I finnaly decided to get 7.0 (though I really liked the old logo and design). Is there a solution for this or do I have to install the old version again (which I dont mind if theres no other solutions)?
And also now I'm forced to use the crap of an application called Windows Media Player if I want to hear music in-game (which I want to, often). Please help.

    Bump
Yeah its strange how making an update (which would be supposed to improve) ruins this program.
Again if anyone have an answer it'd be really nice. And yes I would also only expect it to do this on large and requiring applications but no its not because of my specs (and besides it worked in the previous version).

  • HT203175 i just downloaded new version and then restarted the computer and now itunes wont run- it says it is a currupted or installed wrong.  What do I do so I don't loose everything.

I was prompted to download newest version of itunes, which I did and the restarted the computer.  Now it says itunes is currupted or installed wrong.  What do I do so that I don't loose my music and apps.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?
