Itunes wont show cd, but cd drive is working fine

Question

i tunes wont show any cd i put in, but i can play them through any other program, and even can import the songs through the 'add file to library option' but with no song or album information.
i have also tried re-installing itunes, from cd and downloading and have even tried an older version.
can anyone help me with this please?
