ITunes wont sync movie to iPod touch.
i downloaded Scream from iTunes and when i synced it to my ipod just fine. after a few more syncs, an "unknown error occurred." it wasnt a problem because i had it on my ipod. then i downloaded a couple tv shows and now Scream isnt listed so i cant watch it.
i have an ipod touch 4th gen w/ the 5.0.1 update.
What happens when you do this for the apps that do not sync?

Itunes wont sync files to ipod touch
My friend's wife has been bedbound for years but before she could no longer use her desktop Windows 7 computer, she had gotten hundreds of songs in at least 10 playlists. She recently bought 3 CD/DVDs that she wanted me to rip with itunes and sync to her ipod touch 2. The ripping went fine, if a little slower than I would have thought, but the songs played fine in itunes. When I plugged the ipod touch in, it did not sync on it's own even though "Prevent iPods, IPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" is not checked. I clicked on the device and tried to sync it to the pod touch, it didn't copy the files on to the ipod touch. It said:
Syncing "iPod touch" (Step 1 of 3)
Waiting for sync to start
Syncing "iPod touch" (Step 2 of 3)
Preparing to sync
Syncing "iPod touch" (Step 3 of 3)
Waiting for changes to be applied
Preparing to copy items
Then nothing. I can sync again but it just does the same thing. One time it took the Preparing to copy items a minute or two, but most times it just flashes by. I actually had to do a screen capture to make sure what it said. The songs and videos are not copied and they do not show up on the ipod touch. She does not have sync all music checked as she has lots of songs she doesn't want on the ipod, just selected songs with the checkmark by them. The new songs have the checkmark, and I even tried copying the new songs into a playlist that was already on the ipod touch, but did not work. I deactivated the computer from itunes, uninstalled and reinstalled and reactivated. Still no copy. She was on an older version (maybe 11) so I upgraded to the newest 12.0.1.26 which didn't help either.
Once I manage to get the songs on the ipod touch, she can move them around to where ever she wants them though the ipod touch, and then we plug in a dock for her to listen to it through the stereo. Any ideas on what else to try to get the songs and videos on the ipod touch?What happens when you do this for the apps that do not sync?

Itunes wont sync apps to ipod touch
I bought a second gen iPod touch last Christmas for my son, and loaded it up with the preschool apps from my iPhone with no problem. However, after the initial installation, I have not been able to get any apps to sync from iTunes to the iPod. The apps tab shows the "Sync apps" box checked, but the whole page is grayed out and won't let me select or deselect any apps. Now, it also will not transfer purchases I have made from the iPod back to iTunes. I am running the 3.1.3 version of the iPod software, and all of the apps are iPod and iPhone compatible. All restrictions on the iPod have been disabled. Any suggestions?

My iPod software is up to date, as is the mac OS (leopard), and I bought one new app (having checked its specs) and the app sync page in iTunes is grayed out. I tried deleting a couple of free apps -- a suggestion on another thread for a different problem -- no change. I tried deleting this app and re-downloading it.
I haven't tried buying an app on the iPod to see if it will transfer to iTunes; have only purchased on computer and attempted to sync. Music is fine.
Ideas, anyone?

My itunes wont sync with my ipod touch, it comes up with the message -42404
can someone help please? when i open uo my itunes the message :
'A required itunes component is not installed. Please re-install itunes (-42404)'
is shown and i have uninstalled itunes 2 times and re installed it and its still doing the same thing!

itunes wont sync music onto ipod because the file/disk could not be read or written...help me pleasee i just want my music onto ipod.. all the music is still on my itunes and i have like 300 songs but its wont go onto my ipod!!!!
You can only drag and drop if you have iTunes configured to manually manage music. With the iPod connected to the compute go to the Summary pane for the iPod and check the box under Options that says sync only checked songs and videos.

i have a white screen and i tried rebooting the ipod touch by holding the home and sleep button simoltaneously but it still jus tappears white. i also attempted to connect my ipod to itunes but my itunes wont even recognize my ipod touch 4g. What should I do now?
Just let the battery drain until the screen shuts off. When you charge it back up it should boot up normally.

I bought some songs off of itunes and the songs synced onto my ipod CLASSIC but they didnt sync into my ipod TOUCH. I have tried authorizing and deauthorizing my laptop, updating softwares but nothing works. Anyone know why this is happening?!?!?!

The songs need to be in the playlist(s) that go onto the ipod touch.
Plug the ipod touch into the computer and go to the music section of it from the devices menu. From here make sure that the playlist(s) that go on to this ipod are the ones that have the new songs.
Once this is done, click sync/apply.

If you use automatic syncing (not the manual method), you need to set up the Music tab. The Music tab appears on the "row of tabs" that starts with Summary, when you select the iPod touch in iTunes. Click on Music there. This is where you define how iTunes automatically syncs the iPod touch. First, make sure Sync Music is checked,
If your music library is smaller than the capacity of the iPod, you can select to sync Entire music library. Then, everything in your music library should sync to the iPod. Chances are, your music library is larger (or you don't want to completely fill your iPod touch with only music). In that case, you need to choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, or genres. Then, down below, select the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres to sync. Click the Apply button to apply any changes you made to the sync settings.
Going forward, any changes you make to your iTunes Music library that are related to the settings on the Music tab, for your iPod touch, will be synced. One simple way to set it up is to create a new playlist in iTunes (call it something like "iPod touch music"). Put only the songs you want on the iPod touch on that playlist. Set up the Music tab to only sync that playlist. Update that playlist (in iTunes) as needed and those changes will sync to the iPod touch when you connect it or click the Sync button. -
I got an iphone 4 a week ago and i havent hooked it up to itunes yet until today. I plugged it into my computer and itunes doesnt reconize it. My itunes syncs just fine with my ipod touch but it wont sync with my iphone at all. How do i get my iphone 4 to sync to my itunes?

im having trouble with syncing my ipod touch with my itunes library that i keep on a external hardrive. when i plug up my external hardrive that has all my songs on it, it doesn't sync to my ipod correctly. i have to copy and paste the songs to my ipod device when its connected. i dont want all the songs on there and i want to be able to manually control whats on my ipod. and id like to take some songs off of the ipod also but i want them still in my itunes library though. i usually check the songs i want on the ipod but it isnt working that way maybe because its a external hardrive?? i never had a problem with past ipods with my library on itunes but i ran out of space on my computer and had to transfer all of the songs to my external hardrive. please someone help me!! i thought it would be simple! but it isnt the case! i plug up my hardrive then my ipod, i press sync and nothing gets transfered unless i copy and paste them to the ipod. even though it says ipod syncing in progress! this is really confusing! please help me!! sorry if this is jumbled up and confusing..
Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My music wont sync to my ipod touch, although everything else does!
I've had my ipod touch for just under 2 years now and have never had a problem with it. However in the last month, the sound from the left ear has been faulting quite severly. It's not the headset as i have purchased 3 sets and have all had the same problem.
Within the last week, i have gone to update my itunes and re-sync my ipod (i have not done this in a month). It came up with: unknown error 14 and then sent the ipod into recovery mode. I then had to restore it on another pc as the restore did not work on my laptop. The restore was successful and i then reconnected the ipod to my laptop, which sent the ipod into recovery mode again. The process happened 3 times (including re-installing itunes) untill it finally worked on my acer.
I then backed up my ipod touch, synced all media (photos, apps, movies, music) however the music files did not copy. Everything but the music copied successfully. I have tried to sync it 3 times and i get the same message 'sync is complete, ok to disconnect'. However, my ipod keeps telling me i have no media on file and that i need to download music from itunes.
Please help! I am finding these past few days very difficult without my music!I don't have an iPod Touch so I can't advise about that: you would probably get a useful answer in the iPod Touch forum.
