ITunes wont Trasfer shared songs to my other PC

Hi, I am trying to transfer songs from my desktop to my laptop. Both computers are authorized, both have home sharing on, both are logged into my iTunes account. Both are the latest version of iTunes. I can see and listen to the shared libraries of both computers, but the transfer songs action is no longer available. I have no idea why.
I have been able to transfer songs in the past (only did like 5 to test it out), but not any more. I really need to have the music transfered to my laptop so I can reformat and install Windows 7 onto my desktop.
Thanks in advance.

I have same problem.

My Laptop was stolen. On the Itunes, I had many songs saved from other sources, that are currently on my Itouch. Itunes wants me to Erase to sync, and I dont want to erase. I have no access to those songs anymore. Is there a way to sync my Touch with my New laptop withoit erasing my I touch?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your device for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

I have a mac (Mac Mini, Mac OS X Server Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)) and I have itunes updated and everything else that I would think need to be updated but this has been happening for so long. For all my albums I can not see the songs, like it just wont show them when I click on album cover / thing. But my music does show when I go to songs. It also wont show in, Artist, and Gernes.
Heres an example of what it does:
if you cant see the picture its also uploaded here: http://tinypic.com/r/ws64hh/5
    Thank you in advance!!

    Hi NoahS168,
If iTunes does not appear to be grouping your songs correctly under Album, Artist, or Genre, you may want to check to make sure that something hasn't changed or removed the metadata from those fields. The following articles explains a bit more about the metadata attached to song files:

  • Itunes Wont Remember The Song, When I Rename!!!

I made some beats using logic, and i bounce it as a aiff file. So when the track is done i put the song in my itunes and i renamed it. But after when i rename it i dragged and copy the song to my usb drive so i can put it in my imac computer, when i put it in the itunes on the imac it wont remember the renamed song and only remember the song when it isn't renamed. So my question is how do i make it remember my renamed track and not when it isn't rename?

Close app by double-tapping the home button, then swiping upward on the app window (not the smaller icon) off the screen.
Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.
If this doesn't fix it, just don't lock your screen while you're listening ;-)

  • TS1389 itunes wont play one song of an album i bought

i bought an album on my iphone, downloaded onto my macbook and now i have to continue to authorize one song but it wont play

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • Itunes wont play any song

ok so itunes froze, so i did that whole ctr-alt-del thing and closed it while it was importing songs from a CD. I opened it up again and tried to listen to a song. the lil song playing icon appeared next to it and it appeared on the top but it wont play. the bar on top wont even move. i dont know whats up with it and maybe i need to restart my computer but i better consult u ppl first.

    Yeah, restart your PC.
And if it still won't work, go change the QuickTime settings, because iTunes uses QT to play stuff.

  • ITunes wont change my song titles or artists, via get info or clicking

Sounds like the songs are Read Only or you do not have Write permsisions to the songs or the folder they are in.

  • ITunes wont put any songs on my iPod

I recently tried to move my iTunes onto an external hard-drive, with much difficulty. Once I was done I added a few songs from the iTune store. However, when I went to sync my iPod I got this message, "Some of the items on iTunes, including 'One', cannot be synced to your iPod because you do not have authorization". It took all of the songs off of my iPod. I still have the songs in my iTunes library, but no matter what I try I cant get them on my iPod. Please help me, Im at my wits end.

    FIXED MY SYNC PROBLEM:
Finally found out why all of my music wasn’t syncing….. After the short sync time, a box would come up stating that there were “errors” when syncing. They were 14 tracks that had been deleted, but were still somewhere in a playlist.
If your getting a sync error message at the end, and there was a problem with some tracks.
Take a screen shot of the “error” list.
Go to your Library, click on Music, then Playlists.
Search for and delete each individual track name from the "error" list.
Click on iPod and “Sync” again.
Pretty silly that it wouldn't just skip those tracks and sync the rest. Hope this helps.

  • I have transfered all my music onto an external hard drive from my old computer and itunes wont recognize the songs in my library...help!!

    **** YOU ITUNNES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi,
I did the same XP to Windows 7 upgrade about 18 months ago.   I decided to keep iTunes permanently on the external drive than the c drive to save c: drive space.
ITunes database has pointers to MP3 files located in Artist's directories.  If you want to use a different location than the default C:\ drive for iTunes, then you need to recreate the Itunes database by deleting all songs in iTunes, then change the default location for iTunes files to your external drive.  Then import the MP3 files from the external drive into the empty iTunes database through the iTunes import facility.
If you screw up the timing of the import and find you have multiple iTunes directories (instead of just the default location), then iTunes has a new feature to consolidate all iTunes MP3 files back into the central default location.  In iTunes, FILE, LIBRARY, ORGANIZE LIBRARY, then CONSOLIDATE FILES.
To change the default directory for MP3 files, in Tunes go to EDIT, PREFERENCES, ADVANCED and then CHANGE the location to where you want the Itunes MP3 files to be located (including the iTunes subdirectory under which all the artist directories are held.  Mine are on the F: drive or whatever your computer states is your drive assignment for the external drive.
Note iTunes 10.5 has many problems that Apple hopefully are working on....we seem to have gone backwards on working components in this iCloud based release.  So maybe keep on using old computer until 10.6 is released.
    Enjoy

  • Itunes wont list all songs on ipod, only some of them

My itunes doesn’t list all the songs on my ipod, only some of them. (Only the ones uploaded after a certain date, when I think I forgot to eject my ipod one day).
The ipod definitely has all the albums I've ever uploaded on it. I know because I've tried looking on my friends’ computer and his DOES show all songs on my ipod.
Sounds like a PC problem, not an ipod problem, right? So I tried re-installing itunes, but that doesn’t fix it.
It’s not a bit deal, but it just means I can’t delete certain albums from my ipod.

How exactly are you trying to view this info.
Select the iPod as the Source. Do not select any of the playlists on the iPod, just select the iPod itself.
Any reason you are manually managing the iPod?

  • ITunes wont upload new songs

My iTunes will happily upload new CDs onto my library but when I try to load them onto my iPod displays the message:
"Some of the songs on the iTunes music library, including the song "Maps", were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod."
I have only used 5.98 GB of storage so I know I have room for the new songs. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

    hiya!
... then you're the second person i've seen mention that song name ("Maps") in precisely this context recently. are we talking the Yeah Yeah Yeahs song here?
let's try an experiment. try reimporting the songs from that CD. this time, make sure that error correction is switched off in your importing preferences tab.
does that new copy of the track transfer to the ipod?
    love, b
