Itunes wont upgrade for me

i'm trying to switch computers and my biggest thing that i need to transfer is my music. so i tried just plugging in my ipod to the new computer and it said that i needed to upgrade the itunes and that a new itunes is available but when i go to see what applications are ready to be upgraded nothing pops up.
i also tried just downloading itunes 10 but i need to upgrade the operating system to snow leopard or whatever the newest one is and for my computer i can't use snow leopard so therefore i can't upgrade the itunes.
i'm in a bit of a pickle and i'm not sure what to do. any suggestions?

The latest version of iTunes (10.5.2) requires a minimum of OS 10.5.8. What OS is on your computer?

ITunes wont upgrade my iPhone 4 iOS software.

Hi. I recently updated my itunes to ver 10.2.1
I am now using a 16GB iPhone 4 but i used to have an iPhone 3GS.
I didnt have any problems with my 3GS but for some reason I can't download the iOS 4.3 software using my iTunes for my iPhone 4.
I tried using other iPhone's with my PC but it seems that the iTunes in my PC is the problem because the other phones can download the iOS 4.3 using other computers.
I tried reinstalling iTunes but that didn't solve the problem.
So what I did to upgrade my phone's iOS is I downloaded the iOS from a website and then i held the SHIFT key before clicking update in iTunes.
Now my iPhone is running iOS 4.3 but I would feel a lot better if someone can tell me how I can get my iTunes to download the iOS directly from Apple.

Either you missed some antivirus/antispyware software you have forgotten, you have some other software monitoring disk/internet usage, or your ISP is interfering with your net usage.

Help... Itunes wont work for 2nd time now, and very important....

This is the 2nd time, itunes just totally stopped working for me ( Like wont open, no matter if I click on it in the quick launch, The shortcut, or the actual program...
This time is not like the last time however...
Song's that I have recorded here at my home studio that I have yet to burn are on there... And Beat's that I have made, that are not backed up in FL Studio are in there, and so are numerous Mixtapes I have made, but yet to burn on to disc's.
I don't want to lose all those song's!!!
As a matter of fact I have 800+ Song's on my itunes, and I don't want to lose them!

It started the other day, everytime I click on iTunes, it comes up saying that iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. And it askes me if I would like to Send Error Report or not. I have removed iTunes off my computer completely and reinstalled it and it still didnt work. So I removed it again and used a different email to use for it and installed it and it still doesnt work for me now. Can anyone please help me? Hey I know how fusterating it is. I have an ipod nano (2nd gen) and I am having the same problem. It's been over a month now. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it and it still won't come up. I click on it and it says "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." I have sent error reports many times and still nothing. I spent over $200 and the product doesn't work. Let me tell ya, I am very unhappy and dissapointed. Please someone help.

My itunes wont work for my itouch

i just got a new computer for christmas, and my old one crashed, so i got a software that took all my songs off my ipod and saved them to my computer, i installed itunes and when i plugged it in it would not reconize it as my itouches main computer, it wouldnt transfer all of my purchases just the ones on my itouch and the purchased on matt's selecetion never poped up under the itunes store what do i do because it says its still authorized to the computer that crashed and i cant get on to unautherize

also, the curser just goes round and round. cant close by clicking x, have to close frome the place that says close. then message says program not responding.

Every time I try to check for purchased music, my password and log in id are correct and my Internet connection is there, but every time I check, it tells me that it cannot check for purchased music and an unknown error has occurred, 11502. I think you should contact the Music Store customer service agents to get help on this one. To contact them, go to the iTunes Help menu and select Music Store Service and Support and then click "iTunes Music Store
Customer Service" on that page.

I upgraded the new version of ITunes our of stupidity and it ruined my life. Itunes now wont open. I have tried removing it and re-downloading. I have restarted it and tried everything possible that the support screens say. PLEASE HELP!

- turning off security software such as Norton before the install as Apple suggests
- installing QuickTime standalone, not regular

Upgrading to Windows vista means itunes wont detect my ipod?? Help please.

Recently upgraded to windows Vista. Big whopdeedo.
But anyway, when I plug my ipod in, windows tries to update drivers for it, but of course failas horribly.
However, this is having a knock on effect that means itunes wont detect my ipod. So, while my ipod recharges, I cannot sync it. Thus I can't add new songs and what-not.
Please help.

Yes my ipod is jailbroken, but this has never proved an issue before.
Its not just itunes that now wont recognise my ipod, my other software wont either, and they used to work with the jailbroken ipod.
This all started after i synced a nano, then connected my ipod and a screen came up saying ipod camera connected.
I click on the camera icon in mycomputer and properties tab then selected take no action in the events tab.
This hasnt resolved my issue, and the ipod still comes up as a camera in mycomputer, the only difference being im now not prompted to choose a program to view my photos with.
This is really getting up my nose, as for the second poster, sorry that article was no help at all.

Installed the upgrade for iTunes and now it wont open at all. Clicked on the icon, clicked long on the icon and chose open, and lastly tried to open from applications but I get nothing. Not even an error message. Just a blink of the screen. Please help! I have a iMac version 10.6.8

Don't touch your iTunes Music folder. All your iTunes data is stored there completely separate from your iTunes application. You can delete or reinstall your iTunes Application without affecting your data. However, you should be able to use iTunes 9.
iTunes 9 requires OS X 10.4.11 or later and a Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5 or G4 processor.
It also needs QuickTime 7.6 or later. You can download it here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Note that there are separate versions for Leopard and Tiger. Pick the right one.

I upgraded to newest version of iTunes yesterday when prompted. (windows 7)
iTunes now wont access the store.
I uninstalled everything and re installed it with latest version ans still wont access store.
Existing tunes are playing but taking ages to play!
I also tried to upgrade iphone too and it went to backing up the iphone and just jammed, I left it for a good time but it just stopped responding.
