[iTunes11] New songs not appear in library

Hi everyone,
With the new itunes 11 I can't see new songs or new movies in my local library (adding from iTunes Store or finder)
I have a macbook unibody with snow leopard.
I found a workaround : disable iTunes Match => new songs (or other itunes files) appear instantly.
I'm very surprised that this bug was'nt fixed before the release of the iTunes 11, am I the only one with this bug ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Have a nice day
Jean-Cyril

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the external list not display the new item button.
When we have created a new external list, by default, the new item button would not appear in the form.
However, we can first create a new item using the new item button in the Ribbon.
Then, after we have created a new item in the external list,
the new item button would display in the form as below.
You can create a new item using the ribbon, then check whether it works.
Thanks & Regards,
Jason

  • Songs Not Appearing in Library Correctly

After loading a CD into my library, only two or three appear with song titles/artist names -- the other songs are dumped in a file with simply "track 1", "track 2", etc.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong and how to correct it?
    Thanks

You will need to Reimport everything back into iTunes after an upgrade. go into your iTunes task bar, click on File and click on Add Folder to Library and go from there.

  • Upload of iTunes library on iCloud don't stop and the new songs not on icloud ? help (mac user)

the upload from my library on iclous don't stop... hours and hours, and the new songs not on icloud ? why ?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Hours and hours is not all that uncommon for large libraries, how large is yours.

  • 7th gen nano syncs only certain songs, not my full library.  Ipad and old nano sync fine.  How do I get 500 songs v. 63?

7th gen nano syncs only certain songs, not my full library.  Ipad and old nano sync fine.  How do I get 500 songs v. 63?

**1. Separate these out first without deleting anything from i tunes libary?**
    iTunes:
Set up 2 iTunes playlist, one for songs & the other for talking books.
**2. Then simply transfer my 500 odd tracks of music to my new nano?**
Connect new iPod to computer & set it to manually sync.
Move your music playlist to Devices. Music will sync to your new iPod.
*3. Once all this done, delete songs (only) from the old nano just leaving my talking books?
    Connect old nano to computer.
Under Devices-Music: Start deleting all the songs including any song headings you have in the left column under Music. This will delete from the iPod yet leave your iTunes library intact.
Read the iPod nano (5th generation) - User Guide for other suggestions.

  • Purchased songs not appearing in itunes library

Many of my past purchased songs were not appearing in my itunes library.     After trying many different methods (over 2 hours of investigation) I finally discovered that I need to check the box in the PREFERENCES that says   "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases".
    iTunes 11.0
EDIT -->  PREFERENCES -->  STORE --> "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases".
    Then... all my songs appeared!
It's not clear to me when a purchase is "in the cloud" and when it's not ?   I'm not sure how that works... but this solved my problem.   Maybe it will solve it for you too!

Perhaps the files have been added to your library, but iTunes wasn't displaying them in the Music list for some strange reason. Apparently the most effective voodoo is to obtain the current "Free Single of the Week". It may be that any new purchase causes ITunes to reindex itself properly but this one seems to work, and is free.
Alternatively you could try closing iTunes, deleting the hidden file sentinel from within the main iTunes folder, and restarting. This should cause iTunes to run an integrity check on the database which will likely resolve any issues.
Turning on that option would let an empty library show links to your previous purchases for streaming or download purposes. It may also have triggered a reindexing of the library to compare local content with iTunes in the Cloud.

  • ITunes11, it does not appear to be a valid library file

    MBP, OS10.8.2, iTunes11
When i close the iTunes, and try and reopen, sometimes i get an error message the "file "" cannot be read because it does not appear to be a valid library file".
When i restart the computer it seems to be a temporary fix.
This started happening when i upgarded to iTunes10.7, and the problem still persists in iTunes11.
70,000 songs, so i really dont want to rebuild my Library.

This answered some of my questions.
My Music Library is stored on an Optibay drive.. when i leave iTunes idle for a while, Optibay drive sleeps, corrupting the iTunes Library when it closes, i think.

  • Why do new items not appear in my library?

I have noticed that new song, movies, etc. do not appear in my library under iTunes 10.7 I can see them in the Recently Added playlist, but not in my library. I just bought The Avengers. The digital copy downloaded and installed to my iTunes and I synced it to my iPad, but it is not in the library under Movies. Likewise the free MP3 Avengers Assemble album is not there. Apps I buy do show up in the list and do update.

This happens when you apply a motion tween to a shape that
wasn't converted to a symbol *first*. For
reasons of organizing and managing a flash doc - always
    convert shapes/images to a symbol forst -
    then apply motion tweens.
If you delete these "tween" symbols in the library - the
animation on stage will be lost -
animations (specifically symbols) reference the symbols in
    the library.
Search help docs for "symbols" to learn how Flash works in
    this regard.

  • Imported songs do not appear in library (iTunes 10.0.1)

When I import songs from a CD, the songs are not appearing under Music in iTunes.
The track info is properly displayed for the mounted CD itself and the songs are correctly imported (green checkboxes appear, the MP3 files are placed in the correct folder under "Music/iTunes/iTunes Music", and the MP3 files are playable in Quicktime).
I've tried re-importing the songs in iTunes using the File > Add to Library function, but no luck. This has happened with multiple CDs.
Songs that I have bought through Amazon were successfully imported.
Is this an iTunes 10.0.1 bug? I haven't successfully imported a CD since I upgraded.
Is my library corrupt? Is there a way to rebuild it?
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Details:
    iTunes 10.0.1
Import settings: MP3 encoder, high quality (160kbps), use error correction

It turns out that this is an identified issue. See the thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2565869&start=0&tstart=0
(I searched for a thread on this topic before posting, honest!)
For what it's worth, the problem with the two CDs I tried importing before I posted this has magically healed itself and I can now see them in the library. No idea why. I haven't yet tried to import more.

  • NEW SONGS NOT SHOWING IN ITUNES 11 LIBRARY

No new songs that i import are showing up in my iTunes Library!!!!! HOWEVER, I can view them in a playlist if I drag and drop them there from my desktop.
I don't understand why apple have to constantly keep updating and changing things that work perfectly fine, to these dysfunctional versions!!!
I cannot add any new music, nor can i create ringrtones as it does not allow me to add the AAC version to my library!
    Someone please help!!!

Use the add to library function again, but just point the application to the iTunes library on the computer rather than the DVD backup.

  • Songs not appearing in Music list when imported

When importing a CD (or even purchasing via the iTunes store) the new tracks do not appear in my Music list, even though the songs are sorted by date added - the only way I can view new tracks as they import from a CD is by signing out of the iTunes store!!!
    Surely this cannot be right?
For info, I have not paid a subscription to "Song Match" (or whatever that completely useless feature is called!) - I've read that that feature has caused a similar problem for some people.
Oh, and does anyone have any inside information as to whether Apple have taken notice about the plethora of complaints about the dreadful iTunes 11? I for one have already submitted 3 complaints to them... so far!
    Many thanks!

If you both want to use the same library (all songs, movies, playlists, ratings, etc.), do this…
    1 - Quit iTunes.
    2 - Move your entire /Users/'me'/Music/iTunes/ folder to /Users/Shared/.
    3 - Move all the folders/files in /Shared/iTunes media/ to /Users/Shared/iTunes/iTunes media/ folder.
4 - Hold Option and launch iTunes.
    5 - Select *Choose library...*
6 - Select the /Users/Shared/iTunes/ folder then click Choose.
    Everything should work fine.
Quit iTunes then log into your wife's account.
1 - Hold Option and launch iTunes.
    2- Select *Choose library…*
3- Select the /Users/Shared/iTunes/ folder then click Choose.
That's it! If you are using Fast User switching, only one person at at time can use iTunes.
Any changes made by either person will be seen by the other.

  • New Songs Not Showing Up on Apple TV, Apple TV not in iTunes Sidebar

I have a first-generation Apple TV. I'm able to see my library of music fine, but new additions are not showing up. I've gone into iTunes to try and sync it, but the Apple TV is no longer appearing under devices. I went ahead and turned on Home Sharing, which I did not need before, and Apple TV showed up under Devices, but STILL, my new music additions were not appearing on the Apple TV and there is no Sync option. I turned off Home Sharing and the Apple TV disappeared from the iTunes sidebar. Where do I go from here?

Are the files in the library?
I notice that music and movie categories exist, and I can watch the movies I have converted using handbrake, and iMovie for home movies that we're added to my iTunes library....but... I want to sort this into kid movies, parent movies, and home video categories.  Apple TV will be so much more useful if I don't have to use my iPad to air play my home movies.  Browsing a single list of video that includes these 3 distinct functional categories is pretty lame.   Where is my apple freedom here?
I expect this fixed or more easily configured with the new Yosemite and iOS update. I hope there is an Apple TV update to make this better too.

  • Way to only backup new songs, not all songs that we backed up before?

I know this isn't a forum for my specific external harddrive, but I'm hoping one of you brilliant people might be able to help me. Every time I add a new song to my iPod, I back up my music files (as found by viewing/saving the "hidden" music files in the iPod_Control folder when viewing the iPod as a disk drive). I like backing my songs up this way because the hidden files contain everything that I've saved to the song files (album art, artist, etc.), so if I ever need to re-add these songs to iTunes, I won't need to add these things again. However, copying ALL of these files to my external harddrive takes FOREVER. Unfortunately, these files aren't labeled with the name of the song or artist, they're simply letters and numbers, such as F05, so I have no idea which file is which song. Does anybody have any tips for distinguishing when these files were created/what's in them or how I can only back up NEW data-things I haven't backed up previously? I'd really appreciate ANY tips!

Rarely would one want/need to 'backup' the actual iPod. It is easier to just backup your iTunes system from the PC.
The generally accepted method of iPod/iTunes use is to:
    - Have the complete Library contained within iTunes on the PC
    - Have a complete or partial Library on the iPod
    - Have a complete backup of the iTunes Library stored externally
If anything happens to the iPod's music (which is very possible), just re-sync to your iTunes. If anything happens to your iTunes music, just recover from your backup files.
Transferring data to/from the iPod itself outside of iTunes is slow and usually confusing.
If you want to completely backup you music Library, see this post as a start:
    http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=1350956
    - Backup all music files
    - Backup the Library metadata database file
    - Backup the .pref files of iTunes (not as critical)
    - Make an XML copy of your Ratings, Play Counts and Last Played attributes for all files (See: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=1339320 ) This is a redundant partial copy of the ITL metadata file information.
Your method will work, but it sure is a back-end around a rather simple process.
    BTW:
Song attributes stored directly in each music file are as follows: Artist, Album, Song Title, Year, Comments, Compilation tag, Lyrics, Genre , Grouping, Composer, BPM, Album Artwork, Bit Rate & Kind (Both not tags - inherent to the file itself).
Song attributes stored in the iTunes Library database file only are: Playlists, Ratings, Play Count, Last Played, Date Added, Date Modified, Equalizer, Volume Adjustment.

  • Ivory and Konyakt do not appear in library

    Santa Cruz 2.2
    WD Rator containing Ivory
PC 34 Expresss hoding Kontakt library
All app's and system are current
    Can't find Ivor or Kontakt
    TIA
    gary

Tried another experiment... went back to iPhoto--> iPhone--> selected an earlier photo (one that did not appear in the aforementioned event) --> Import, selected 'Yes, import anyways even though there is a duplicate'... and then went again to Last Import --> now only one photo to choose from, 'Show Event' and it takes me to an event with this photo, but no others even though, imported previously, were 10 other photos from this particular evening.
Last Import is just that - the last import.  So your last import was one photo, so that's what last import shows.
And the photo is alone in an event because you only imported one. Every import creates at least one new Event - part of the way that iPhoto avoids duplicates overwriting each other. So that experiment shows that iPhoto is working normally.
    As to the core issue:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
