Itunes64.msi error :(

I have tried everything so far, but nothing has worked. I have uninstalled, reinstalled nothing. I have repaired, still nothing. It says can't find 'iTunes64.msi'. I have even did the 'Regedit' but still no results. So please anyone I am dying to get my life filled with my music on iTunes. Thanks

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • I cannot update itunes to 10.2.2. Missing itunes64.msi error.

I have had Itunes for years. I've never received an error before. When I go to update Itunes+Quicktime I get an error saying itunes64.msi is missing.  I tried uninstalling it and it won't uninstall because itunes64.msi is missing.  It says it should be under Users\Cindy\App Data\Local\Apple\Apple SoftwareUpdate.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

I am trying to remove the older version of iTunes but an error message appears saying that it cannot find the path to 'iTunes64.msi", and I tried the search option to find it on my computer but no such luck. Please help me

Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

I am getting an error that says Error 2 iTunes64.msi not found when trying to install Itunes in my windows laptop.

    Hello Juan_fran,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iTunes for Windows issues. I have included some additional information about the specific error:

    Configure your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, or 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.

  • ITunes error message - missing iTunes64.msi on win7 64bit

I tried to update iTunes to the newest version - after downloading I receive the following error message: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below."
The path in the box is 'C:\Users\DebbieCleaveley\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\'
Then I get "The path 'C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 10.2.1.1\iTunes64.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes"
I've hunted for a solution and found that back in 2008 this error seemed to be quite common and the solution was a Microsoft program called "MS Installer Cleanup Utility" which is no longer available.
I then tried uninstalling iTunes all together, to no avail.  I get the same error. "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below.
So I cannot delete the old one, find the missing folder or do anything .... please help !

  • Get network error reading file C:\windows\installer\iTunes64.msi

when installing 64bit itunes on windows 7, an error occurs in C:\windows\installer\iTunes64.msi then the install crashes

OK what finally got me over the ridge on this one was searching for and installing and running Windows Installer CleanUp.

Despite all the removal and cleaning and scrubbing and all the other remedial steps found on about 5 threads and 3 boards, the last time I tried it all over again I also as a final step used the above utility. It spotted some entry or something from iTunes past installation attempt or something (probably sometime I got Quicktime and it also tried to install iTunes but I removed it, and had since forgotten it.)
I have no idea what dark corner of the registry or someplace it was hiding, considering all the systematic slash and burn of the other steps previously tried, but this worked.
