Itunes6464.MSI and failure to uninstall

I cant get the program to install and the updater and raw download methods complains about not being able to remove the previous version. I tried uninstalling iTunes by hand and refused with the 'itunes64.msi' cannot be found. All the other programs can and were removed. When it downloads it comes as 'tunes6464.msi' and I cant change the name. Help?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

I am trying to remove the older version of iTunes but an error message appears saying that it cannot find the path to 'iTunes64.msi", and I tried the search option to find it on my computer but no such luck. Please help me

Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • When will Adobe release "AdbeRdr1011_en_US.msi" and "AdbeRdr1011_ja_JP.msi"?

I can see it is available in other languages already (since 2011/09/29):
    Greek - ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.1/el_GR/ - MSI and EXE
Arabic - ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.1/ar_AE/- MSI and EXE
    Hebrew - ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.1/he_IL/ - MSI and EXE
But for some reason we are here almost 2 months later and it is not available in English, Japanese, etc....
    English - ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.1/en_US/  - EXE only
    Japanese - ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.1/ja_JP/ - EXE only
Could someone at Adobe please explain or rectify this? We are planning to upgrade all our users from Adobe Reader 8.x, which has now reached end of support (thanks for the not so early warning Adobe), and we need to ready our testing and deployments. We will only deploy with MSI based packages. If it does not become available we will have to go to Adobe Reader 9 instead. Appreciate any support on this. Thanks.

    Howdy,
First, the end of support for a particular version is usually set 2 years in advance. It should not be a surprise to anyone. Go here: http://www.adobe.com/support/products/enterprise/eol/eol_matrix.html#86.
The release strategy for updates is fairly straightforward:
MSIs are rarely released because they are more complicated to build, configure, and deploy. MSIs are released when the second dot increments and are usually available in all languages. Some of the least used languages are created an a slightly different schedule (e.g. Greek, Hebrew, Arabic).
Most updates/patches are MSPs which should simplify the work for IT. Nothing is uninstalled when using an MSP and any existing enterprise configuration persists. These updates are not language specific and can be applied over any MSI of any language.
It should be clear from the kb note 88814 (above), the Admin Guide, and the Release Notes that there is not and won't be a 1011 JP MSI because you don't need one. Install the MSP over your MSI (whatever its language).
On a side note, there is an EXE on the Reader Download Center for JP and 4 other languages, but these aren't usually used by IT. No reason why they can't be used if it doesn't interfere with your deployment methodology.
Most admins get their updates from the ftp site above. You can go here if you'd like: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows, but the FTP site delivers the actual installers so you can consider that the Real Truth about what's available.
All of the resources you need to configure and deploy Acrobat products in enterprise settings are here: http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobatitinfo. If something is not clear, please post again (preferrably in the Acrobat Enterprise Deployment forum).

  • I am missing the file itunes.msi and can't upgrade to 10.5, please advise a fix

Tryin to download latest update for itunes.
get error message that update process not finding the file itunes.msi and therefore the update installation stops.
And I can't uninstall itunes from Control Panel.........as it also needs this file to uninstall.
    What to do?

    There is a Microsoft fixit for uninstall problems which I haven't tried yet, but it is worth a go;
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
I would be interested to know if it works, otherwise:
This type of problem can usually be fixed with the Microsoft installer cleanup utility.
Unfortunately the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been withdrawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google  msicuu2.exe download
mydigitallife in the above search has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
After installing, To run the program  – All Programs>>Windows Install
If you get  permission denied error, Try Run as Administrator – an option if you right click on the program.
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did *not* uninstall, look out for entries that start All Users that are blank entries or have numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Download iTunes if you haven't already done so:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    Try installing iTunes.

  • New to MSI and AMD... have some questions

Quick background for you guys before I dig in... This is my first AMD and MSI system so I'm less sure of what the good and bad practices are as I've always been an Intel person. However, since Intel hasn't really been keeping up I decidied on AMD for this system upgrade.
Anyhow, here is a list of my current specs before I get into my questions:
    AMD64 3500+ (939, 90nm)
MSI Neo2 Platinum NForce 3 Ultra
    1GB Corsair XMS TWINX1024-3200C2PT Link
    BFG 6800 GT OC DDR3
Booting to a 30GB 7200rpm Western digital but also have an 80GB IBM Deskstar and a 300GB Maxtor 16mb cache Sata drive
    Now for the questions/issues.
#1) I'm using all of the latest drivers from MSI and Nvidia for the motherboard and graphics card. I'd like to get to the lates bios version, however I've heard that there is an issue with upgrading this board when it has the a winchester (90nm) core processor installed. Is this true or should I go ahead and update?
    2) While this may be bios related, the system sometimes hangs on the post. Usually when it is detecting the memory or going from the memory check to the ide checks.
    3) Also may be bios related: about 30% of the time when booting and switching from the post to the windows load screen the monitor goes blank (not losing signal, just no screen) or the XP bitmap appears very very very faded and the pc never boots up. What eventually happens is that I have to reset or power off and reboot. The OS detects an improper boot and gives the boot options. Most of the time normal boot works, but sometimes the same situation occurs.
Thanks for reading, and any suggestions would be highly appriciated.

I have the same motherboard and processor as you and have flashed to the latest official bios (1.4) without any problems.  My system hangs on post sometimes, but only hangs when trying to detect the CD Rom drives.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it just hangs, I fixed the problem by putting the CD Rom drive beneath the harddrive in the boot order.  As long as you have Windows installed you shouldn't need to boot to CD very often.  I have also encountered the XP Bitmap showing up as faded for a second or two, but mine always brightens up and boots up.  I have no idea what the problem may be with that, I would guess that it is driver related in some way.  The best thing to do would be to try a couple of different VGA drivers over the course of a few days and see if the results differ in any way.  To find out the best timings for your RAM download and run CPU-Z.  That will give you the SPD timings, which should eliminate any RAM associated problems.  Definately set the RAM timings yourself, because allowing the bios to configure things made my RAM run at 333 fsb speeds.  I wouldn't think that booting off of the 30GB drive should cause you any major issues if all you have on it is your main Windows partition and the data you access is kept on other drives.  It may be a second or two slower to boot, but as long as you put your games and hard drive intensive programs on a faster drive you should have no annoyingly slow problems.

  • Running Firefox 4.0 on Windows 7 crashes when opening - no solutions to date work and I cannot uninstall it.

I've tried going through all the solutions I can find including trying unlock my profile (parent.lock), or create a new profile (profile manager crashes too), opening it in safe mode (it won't - still crashes), running it as administrator (also crashes) and I cannot uninstall it (that crashes too). The Crash Reporter/Manager also crashes and locks up so I cannot submit this issue. I'm at a loss.

Hit CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up Windows Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and look for '''firefox.exe''' If you find it, right click it and choose Kill Process.
What I suggest next is to perform a clean installation as follows:
    * Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0] and download a fresh installation file to the desktop. In this particular case, I'd recommend downloading the file with either IE8 or 9. Choose to save the file to your desktop when you see the prompt.
    * Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
    * Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    * Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., will be retained in a separate folder and will become available again once the reinstallation completes.
If you prefer to go back to the previous secure version which is 3.6.16, use this link instead: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.16] Otherwise the procedure is the same.

Error when opening iTunes : iTunes has stopped working '' A problem caused the program to stop working correctly''.
When I repaired damaged files the problem still exists and also after uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling iTunes.
My pc is working with windos 8.
    Is there a solution?

    Hey there Rodney274,
It sounds like you are getting an error from iTunes when you launch it. I would try the troubleshooting in this article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
Start with troubleshooting for 3rd party plug ins section, then the rest of the article if needed:
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
    Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • JRE 1.4.2_10 Silent install using MSi and JRE 5.0_06

I have been unable to install JRE 1.4.2_10 using the msi and mst silently. My company requires all applications be installed using and msi not an exe. and with no user intervention. I can install using the msi and mst but not silently,.
Also it does not allow me to choose IE as the default browser. I change the setting in the MST for IE, but this does not work, I still have to manually go in and change it after the install.
I have the same issue with version 5.0_06. This does allow me to choose IE as the default browser but does not install silently.
    I am installing on Windows 2000 SP4.

Can't help you with the MSI/MST part of your question directly, however we use the following command line:
    jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586-p.exe /s /v" /qn ADDLOCAL=jrecore,extra IEXPLORER=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress JAVAUPDATE=0 SYSTRAY=0"
You might be able to make IEXPLORER=1 work for you via the MSI?
Additionally, you can manage JRE settings via the following method -
Place a file called 'deployment.config' in the following location:
    %SystemRoot%\Sun\Java\Deployment
This file can act as a pointer to a configuration file (aka jre.properties)
The contents of 'deployment.config' would look like (as an example):
    deployment.system.config=file://///servername/share/jre.properties

  • Success and Failure messages Report

    Hi All,
Could you advice if it is possible within SAP XI to generate a report or list of messages with sender party, receiver party and timestamp for reference. Say end of day we need to run a report of how many successful message passed thru XI and the messages that failed. In XI we can see that, but can we generate a report out of automatically at the end of the day, or mail it to a particular e-mail address?
Can I create a spreadsheet report of all the success and failure messages with the time, sender party, receiver party automatically whenever desired.
    Thanks in advance
    Ravijeet

It is possible. Have a look at this blog have more idea on the table that needs to be used to pick the messages and the details.
