ITunes7 - Individual Song Artwork

When I d'loaded tunes under the 7 version, it didn't come with artwork...the only visible is a blank white square, with a smaller square inside it. The prompt "get album artwork" doesn't work and it won't let me cut/paste artwork into it, either. Any tips?

It normally uses the artwork from the earliest added song that has artwork as the album artwork. There is no real support for separate "single" art. If different tracks from the same album have different art then you can expect the image that is displayed to indeterminate.

Album Art not loading onto whole ablum only individual song

If I load a CD in to my iTunes library and then try to add album artwork to appear as the album plays I have to cut an past to each individual song. How do I load artwork so that is is attached to the whole album?
On my powerbook, with older version of itunes I don't recall having this problem.

Before dragging and dropping artwork to the artwork pane, select all tracks of the album.
Alternatively, select all songs of the album and Get Info (command-I).
Then drag and drop the picture on the little artwork pane of the 'Multiple Song Information' window and click OK.

How can I restore my playlist folders in itunes? They are there but the individual song titles aren't listed. They are only listed by album. This makes it very difficult to find songs in my playlist. Also,when I click on music, it will not list options.

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -

If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

My iPod touch (5th gen) doesn't list some albums in the artist's section. But still lists the individual songs in the music list. How can I better organize this?

I recently bought an iPod touch 5th generation, I had a few CD albums here that I wanted to put into my new iPod, just like my old one. But with my old one I put them all in and it organized them all as the same artist (which they are), so under artists I just had to click on their name, then pick the album. In the 5th gen one, it puts the songs in my iPod, but I can't find the actual album under "Artists". I put 2 albums by this artist, but it only shows one, and the other is nowhere to be found, but it's still in my iPod, just as individual songs in the songs section. I don't think this'll be the only time I'm running into this problem on the 5th gen, I had trouble organizing some other songs. How can I better organize these albums, show them all under the same artist? I tried to re-write the artist name to be exactly the same, but that doesn't do anything.

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
- Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

How do I get albums out of "compilations'? On one of my machined I can go to individual songs, "get info" and uncheck "part of a compilation", but that does not work on my office machine. I would also like to be able to do this in a group for an album,

I don't know how so much of my music got lost by being labled "compilations"? I would like to go back and catagorize it as it should be but the screens are gray and will not let me alter them as to the catagory I wish them to be in (or even the genere they are already labled? On my home machine I can (by individual song) "get info and uncheck "part of a compilation" and when this is finished the album goes to the genere as it is listed? Frustrating bit of hous keeping. The Get Info. fields show up gray if the files is locked and iTunes knows it can't edit the file. Make sure the files are not marked as read only and, if necessary grant both your account and system full access to all files and subfolders of your media folder.
You can set Part of a Compilation for multiple tracks from the Options tab of Get Info.

IPhone 4s set to manually sync, but every time I try to put a single song on my phone it downloads my entire library. How do I sync individual songs without downloading entire iTunes library?

I recently purged my iPhone 4S of most of its music because I didn't have enough gigabytes of free space to download the latest iOS (my phone was actually completely full). That ticked me off but I didn't have time for a backup. I transferred all purchases to my library and I deleted the music from my phone.
Since then, I've been annoyed that I don't have all my music but I've been enjoying the free space that I have, so I prefer to restore songs from my library individually now, depending what I'm in the mood to hear, and I don't miss having a full phone.
However, whenever I try to manually sync music that was ripped from a CD, music I didn't download from iTunes, but is playable in my iTunes library, iTunes thinks it has to download the entire library, which I don't even have the space for, anyway. However, my iPhone seems fine wirelessly (I have Home Sharing turned on) syncing individual songs which were purchased in the iTunes store.
So whenever I try to sync a single song, or an album perhaps, which was not purchased on iTunes, I get the message "updating files on iphone" and it says it's copying all the thousands of songs in my entire library. But my settings are for manual sync only. I wind up cancelling the sync every time, because I would have to wait for it to finish copying thousands of songs before it got to the one I selected. Why on earth is it doing this?
How do I regain the ability to sync a single song at a time?
This has been exasperating me.

While your iPhone is synching in iTunes, do the following:
1. Click on your iPhone's icon on the left.
2. Find and click on the "Tones" tab on the upper right of the iTunes display.
3. Choose the synch option you would like.

Begin by tapping on the Settings app.
Scroll to the Store menu and tap that.
This is where you can manage your Automatic Download settings. You can control Music, Apps, and Books (if you have the iBooks app installed) here. Slide to On any of the kinds of files you want iCloud to automatically download to your device.

Normally, if the songs showed that it is purchased then it is probably already in your library. If not check out the article below to walk you through downloading your past purchases. You may also want to check to see if you have Automatic Downloads turned on so that way next time you can get your tracks without having to plug in and sync.

IPhone would not let me delete individual song from library, tried deleting album to remove music from local storage, now certain songs from album do not show in iTunes match on iPhone only on computer

Upon completion of matching and uploading my very large library of music (+15,000), I wanted to see how iTunes Match worked on my iPhone. I started it and selected the first album in the list to listen to. I let it play the entire album and then decided that I wanted to remove certain songs off of the iPhone's local storage. Tried to delete the individual songs and it would not let me. So I figured that I would go back and just delete the album. After selecting delete I went back to listen to one of the songs on the album and realized that it deleted several of the songs from the iTunes Match completely. When pulling iTunes up on my computer the songs are still there but does not give me the option to upload to iTunes Match.
I have tried turning off Match on iPhone and back on (doesn't seem to do anything cause when turned off the iPhone still displays the music.)
Then tried power cycling. (Still shows the music)
Then I tried power cycling again and resyncing the phone and the iPhone still shows the music as it was on the phone.
How do I get the music to be accessable on the iPhone again.. I have been messing with this for the course of 3 hours now.. and any help would be appreciated!!

Actually Michael I know exactly how to delete.. The iPhone would not let me swipe to the left to delete the individual song, so I went to the album view and did it there.. The issue I am having is a bug because it removed 3/4 of the albums availablity off my iPhone.. You post proved no help because it is basic troubleshooting which, if you read my post, I have already done.. I did however figure out how to fix my issue on my own.. Basically I had to remove the album from my iTunes on my computer and upload it again to iTunes Match..

How can I remove individual songs from my iphone 5? Right now, all 2013 songs are syncing. I thought that unchecking the songs in the main itunes playlist would remove them form all devices. Apparently this does not work. Under the uphone 5 sync menu there are no selections for individual songs... only groups of songs. Am I missing something?

I just create a playlist and sync only this playlist.
Then just add/remove from this playlist and sync.
Unchecking songs does other thing such as not playing them in iTunes, not syncing them to other devices and not applying changes

Are these "thousands of files" in an iTunes library that simply cannot be found?
If so, assuming you know exactly where they are, hold the "Option" key while opening iTunes from your dock. You will then be given a "Choose Library" option. Choose it and point to your library.

I'm running logic pro 8.0.2 on Leopard 10.5.8. I've recorded an evening of live music, the cut the recording into songs using one audio file folder. When working on an individual song, I can't access the sampler. I get the message "nothing to display"

When working on an individual song, I can't access the sampler. I get the message "nothing to display" or "no region or audio file selected" After much research on the web, I believe this is a permanent bug. Does anyone have a good work-around for this type of work. We record live 16T band rehearsals constantly and would love to be able to break individual songs out of the large file and be able to use the sampler. Thanks in advance for your ideas! Cheers.

Another thing - if I copy one of the tracks to another track, then the sample editor works on the copied track. I don't want to have to copy 16 tracks to new tracks to be able to use the sample editor on a project. Thanks again.

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track. However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone. I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone. I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets. I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything. I hope we can find something.
