ITunesHelper dissapear after LION and iTunes 10.4 update
Hi everybody,
after i upgrade to LION and the new 64bit iTunes, I notice that ituneshelper cannot be found by my Login items...
has anybody same problem???? How can I fix it?

I haven't updated to Lion yet (I have 10.6.8) but I got this problem when I updated iTunes to 10.4. However, I applied your fix and it worked. Thanks JanBP!

Since upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, cover flow is not displaying the currently playing song. It will simply display the first cover in the playlist. Also, the screen saver starts during playback, unlike Snow Leopard. Any ideas on how to fix? I have already repaired disk and permissions but problem persists.

I tried restarting my mac and my iphone a bunch of times, reinstalling iTunes after deleting dozens of files, and it didn't help at all.
I re-installed X-Code (had to use Activity Monitor to kill iTunes Helper in the middle of the install) and then my iPhone synced again! -
Lion and iTunes 10.5 no longer connect to firefly music server on ReadyNAS.
I installed Lion and iTunes 10.5 on my MacBook Pro (upgraded from Snow Leopard), and the firefly streaming service on my Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ no longer works.
My wife's machine, still on Snow Leopard, still connects through the shared library as expected, by my machine will not. It sees the library, but when you click on it, it says it's loading, but never does. Also, I can connect to the drive and the music library if I navigate to it, but this isn't the proper way to stream music, and it means that only one machine in the house can read the library.
Anybody have any ideas?

I downloaded Lion and have attempted to 'update' it from apps to my imac... after 3 hours of uploading it show me an error message saying there's something wrong with my internet connection... which there is not. Anyone else experience this?
What type of Internet connection do you have? How fast is it?

Hello! Is there any combination of OS Lion and iTunes that can run radio streams (primarily pls-streams) without cutting (rebuffing) it for at least 3-4 hours? I am running Lion (10.7.1) on an early-2011 MacBookPro with iTunes 10.3.1 and I am frustrated, because it will cut the stream at least once per hour (it's totally random), while my older MacBook, running Tiger with iTunes 9.2.1 doesn't have any such problems ... Any solution?
Maybe you should upgrade iTunes to the current version - 10.5.3 - and upgrade Lion to 10.7.3.

After APTV and itunes upgrade on mac, streaming from itunes to Apple TV is very slow.
After APTV and itunes upgrade on mac to latest on 02/15, streaming from itunes to Apple TV is very slow. even 5 mins song takes 10-15 mins to start. Netflix/Youtube work fine on Apple TV. restarted Mac, router, modem, appletv. reset Appletv to factory setting and re-start.
Apple TV 2 does not appear in iTunes (exception being when connected via micro-usb for restore) as it has no sync capabilities.

Just bought a new iphone 5, i have an old imac computer OSX 10.5.8 and itune version 10 (updated at great cost last year for iphone4) it dosen't let me restore data... any chance of update or do i have to thow away my computer (and never by Mac again?)
You an use your iPhone without connecting it to a computer.
But the product description for the iPhone clearly states that in order to sync with a Mac you must have OSX 10.6.8 or later. That version of the OSX is usually called Snow Leopard. There are two mo recent versions of OSX. OSX 10.7.x (Lion) and OSX 10.8.x (Mountain Lion).
If you can upgrade your computer to at least Snow Leopard I suggest you do so. -

I downloaded a song on my iPhone and iTunes did not update it to my PC. I went to Store -> Check for avialable downloads, and I got a message saying there was no music from my iPhone to sync to my computer... Any suggestions?? Thanks!

I am runing lion and latest version of itunes. I have match on, home sharing on and using icloud. my itunes started hanging up and required me to force quit. then upon restart of itunes and restart of computer itunes would take upwards of 15 minutes to open and was using >90% of CPU and would be lagging in response if responding at all one of the playlists I had created on my ipad had over a hundred copies of the same playlist. after repeated restarts I uninstaled itunes and reinstalled. this didnt rectify the problem. I assumed library file had somehow become corrupt so I deleted library files, reimported all my music and synced with genius and match. and let the computer go over night. when I woke in morning all my music was back but I had all the extra playlists again and itunes is hogging all the cpu and was minimally responsive and hanging up after each click.
I thought this might be a virus or something but installed ESET cypersecurity did a complet scan with no threats found. I am at a total loss and do not know where to go from here. I hope one of you can assist. Thanks!I had this exact issue. Spent over an hour on the phone with apple support, they couldn't resolve. Here is what I ended up doing, that worked.
1. Turned iTunes match off on all my iOS devices
2. Deleted the offending playlists from the iOS device they originated on
3. Started iTunes, let it run (literally) for an hour before it became responsive. First thing I did, before clicking anywere else was disable iTunes match. If I clicked anywhere, it would clock for another hour.
4. Let iTunes run overnight, by morning it had cleaned out the repeating play lists. This got my Mac/iTunes back to an operable state.
5. Restore iPhones from backup in iTunes.
What was causing my issue was a single playlist that was created on an iPhone, then suddenly showed up with several thousand duplicates on my other iPhone. The culprit playlist did not, for some reason, duplicate itself on my two iPads. Apple support seemed to think it was because the problem iPhone tried to sync the playlist to iCloud over and over again unsuccessfully, then it finally went through and populated the thousands of blank/failed playlists which then tried to propigate to iTunes and my other iOS devices. Seems like a reasonable theory.
I have not yet re-enabled iTunes match. So, no idea what will happen if I decide to go back down that rabbit hole. -

New iMac crashing after Lion and SN updates
Well this is my story bought my new imac Jan 2011 - Snow leopard 10.6.4 installed - worked fine problems started after upgrades to 10.6.5 and 10.6.6 - wifi probs initially then a tendency to crash to black screen about twice a day - just a little click noise then nothing often when surfing.... anyway endured this prob and thought upgrading to Lion might fix it...
After installing Lion my new imac ran for 2 mins max before crashing to black screen - I went online and tried all 'known' fixes (no help) - I am now back to 10.6.4 and have had a trouble free day ....been using macs since 1993 and never recall a prob as bad as this - still have a Blueberry imac running OSX beta (lol changed the clock) and Emac running 10.2Also as a general rule of thumb NEVER NEVER EVER EVER upgrade a computer that isn't 100% stable at the time of the upgrade. When you do you are NOT fixing a problem you are making the problem much more difficult to troubleshoot and fix. You may benefit by reading Understanding upgrade nightmares, this should help explain and possibly shed some light on your problems. My iMac has successfully upgraded over many many updates including major OS X upgrades from Tiger to Leopard to Snow Leopard and now Lion. In each case the migration was simple and the computer remains as reliable as it did when it was new. This is primarily because the computer was stable on each upgrade.
My recommendation would be to start all over again with the base version of OS X that was installed on your system. Do an erase and install and only upgrade to the next version of OS X when the system is 100% stable. WZZ wrote a good guide on the process he does when he upgrades, I do something very similar and as explained each update has been very smooth. Please read his Update Process.

Issue installing apps on Ipod Touch
