ITunesHelper.exe

I have found that iTunesHelper.exe is not running on my system even though it is listed in msconfig as well as in the registry "run" key. Everything I can see indicates that it should start automatically. My wife is having the same problem on her machine. The iPod itself is set to start iTunes automatically, and if I start iTunesHelper.exe manually, then connect the iPod, iTunes will start automatically, as expected. The mystery is why doesn't iTunesHelper.exe start automatically at windows startup? All other msconfig listed startup programs start automatically, as they should, but not iTunesHelper.exe
Anyone having this issue?
Thanks,
Phil

    Hi
I have tried to research these problems I am getting, but have not been able to resolve them.
1st is the above DDE Server Windows iTunes.exe - entry point not found.
This only occurs when I try to start iTunes.
if I click ok , several times, iTunes will start but slowly.
If at any time I have to reboot my computer I get
iTunesHelper.exe - the procedure entry point asl_add_log_file could not be located in the dynamic link library ASL.dll
if I click 3 times OK it goes away.
To this end I have uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my machine then gone to iTunes web site and downloaded the latest version.
Installing it but still get the same errors on reboot and trying to run iTunes
    Anyone any ideas please.
I have a self build PC it has an Intel core 2 quad Q6000 @ 2.40GHz

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • Runtime error R6034, itunesHelper.exe and the missing library MSVCR80.dll

I made the mistake of upgrading to the new version of itunes and I appeared the following errors:
    - Runtime Error R6034 on ituneshelper.exe
    - Library MSVCR80.dll not found
    - Error 7 (windows error 126)
I tried to install and uninstall as they say apple forums, I researched on my own restoring records, and review it with MicrosoftFixit which is also a solution to the problem but none of the options mentioned above solves the problem. I'm about to format my pc, but I read it in 3 forums that solution does not help. Lords of apple, what's going on with you? Sorry forgot to mention that since I restored settings to my pc that was 1 month ago and nothing happened.
    I have windows XP
    250 gb hard disk
    1 gb RAM
    Thanks

first disable your antivirus (you can re-enable later)
go to start, right click on computer and choose properties - note if you have 64 bit or 32 bit operating system
then make sure all users on the computer are logged off
log into admin user (if yours isn't already one)
    then uninstall in this order
    itunes
    apple software update
apple mobile device support (if it won't go - support.microsoft.com/fixit - skip step 1 and go to step 2 - click install or upgrade software or hardware - then scroll down to the bottom of step 3 and click run now next to Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled - basically tell it you want to manually tell it want you wantto do and then choose to uninstall and choose apple mobile device - if it freezes or stops around the end then just quit it and relaunch control panel and the apple mobile device should be gone)
    then continue to remove
    bonjour
    apple application support
    then restart computer
click start - left click on computer - double click on c drive
    double click on program files
make sure the itunes, ipod, and bonjour folders are gone - if they aren't select them, then right click and delete
if you are on 64 bit
complete the steps for program files and then also do program files x86
if you had to delete any of those folders manually restart again afterwards
for 32bit os - go to www.apple.com/itunes and download new itunes
for 64bit os - support.apple.com/kb/DL1615 and download the 64bit version of itunes for windows
this will resolve any issues related to the update
NOTE - this will not touch your playlists or media files - your songs are not saved in the itunes application itself those are in a different folder in your music folder

  • HT201413 Error is Program C:/Program Files (86) iTunes/iTunesHelper.exe R6034 An app has made an attempt to load the C Runtime library incorrectly. How to fix? Thx!!

I keep getting the same runtime error when I've tried to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes. Have also tried to access iTunes support and it tells me I don't have the latest version of Internet Explorer so I can't get to them. Frustrating because I just upgraded to IE 11. Have followed directions to uninstall and have tried to delete the files manually but I get a message saying they can't be deleted.
    Error I get is:

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Ituneshelper.exe uses 50% cpu

I walk into the room and my wife is playing her games on Pogo. I hear the dell fan running like mad and ask her how long it has been running so loudly. She says for over an hour and it won't stop. I look at task manager and see ituneshelper.exe is using 50% of the cpu.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Ok, stopped iTunesHelper and then ran iTunes and quit iTunes: everything is now behaving. (I'm not even seeing iTunesHelper in the Processes tab when I open iTunes now.) Odd? I've also just restarted and run iTunes without any any spike in CPUs by iTunesHelper as well. ??? (Tentative cheers!)
When I first upgraded to 7.5, iTunesHelper was immediately using major CPUs, even after I closed iTunes (but not of course after ending the process). I restarted the computer and opened iTunes (and had to reinstall missing files) and ran into the same CPU situation, which seemed to be upon opening the program if I recollect.
I'll post again if this issue has not resolved (as it currently seems to be). Thank you, thank you!!

    Hi,
iChat version through from version 2 to version 6 allowed you to choose whether to Save Transcripts of iChats.
It was a setting in the App Menu > Preferences > Messages pane.
In Messages beta this now longer happens and "Saving" is obligatory.
By default the Chats are stored in a folder called iChats and this is normally in the Documents folder.  (they are still called iChats in Messages).
In addition Messages Beta also stores some iMessage info in the Home Folder/Library/Messages
You can access this via the Finder > Go Menu and holding the ALT ley to see the Library listing (It is normally invisible)
The info is held in the chat-db database.
At present you cannot turn Off saving the transcripts.

  • Ituneshelper.exe causing repeated BSODs

Hi.  I have recently been experiencing a number of BSODs which WinCrashReport is identifying as being caused by ituneshelper.exe.
Has anybody else experienced this issue and how can i go about finding a solution for this.
    Regards

Perhaps try a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components, as per the following document? (That should swap out all the ituneshelper.exe componentry.)
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • Error message c:\program files (x86)\itunes\ituneshelper.exe   r6034

can not log into itunes, get the following error message:  c:\program files (x86)\itunes\itunes help.exe
    R6034
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still unable to login

Apple's advice on this issue can now be found here: TS5376: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See the user tip Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested strategy.
If you have difficulty downloading the iTunes setup file try clearing your browser's cache or using an alternate browser.
If content is missing from the library following the repair see Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.
For device connectivity issues following the repair see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5.
MobileMe is a discontinued service and should be removed if present. See HT2992: MobileMe: Uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows for details.

I started getting the error message "The procedure entry point sqlitepreparev2 could not be located in the dynamic library sqlite3.dll".
This all started after I installed the latest version of iTunes for Windows. What happens id, when you start up your PC in the morning, this error message appears. You've got a problem with one of your Apple Application Support program files, Deb. There's some information on the relationship between Apple Application Support and iTunes in the second part of the following user tip:
