ITunesSetup.exe fails to start

I am trying to install iTunes 9.1.1 while running Windows XP with SP3. Every time I try to run iTunesSetup.exe I get this message: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." I've tried reinstalling and I still get the same error message. What now?

That's unusual in this context.
Related issues when trying to launch iTunes and QuickTime can be caused by issues with the .NET framework on a PC, so it might be worth trying the following document (even though it's about a different issue):

If you update or repair your .NET framework, does the iTunes installer behave itself or do you still get the same sort of error message?

    I have iTunes installed on my laptop with Vista Ultimate. I also have Registry Booster 2010 installed for about one month now.
    Recently, every time I start my box I receive a message that AppleSyncNotifier.exe failed to start.
    I look in Services but don't see a service for AppleSyncNotifier. The only Apple services listed are Apple Mobile Device, Bonjour Service, iPod Service.
    MSCONFIG Startup tab does not list AppleSyncNotifier.exe as a startup program.
    I tried re-installing latest version ( downloaded from Apple website ) of iTunes with the repair option but it did not solve the problem.

    No you should be fine. (The MobileMe service is being shut down, anyway, so there should be no impact at all.)

    I installed the latest iTunes update from Apple on my PC.  I then received an error when launching iTunes that I the "APSDAEMON.exe  was unable to locate component.  ...Failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found".
    During install, I got a message that itunes install was complete nut then I got a message that "itunes not installed correctly.  Error 7 (windows error 126).  Another error message received was "service 'apple mobile device' failed to start. verify you have sufficient privileges to start system.services.
    At this point, iTunes icon is on my desktop but cannot launch iTunes.
    Need help!

    Does anybody have any ideas? I tried to comment out line 155 just to see, but it then just failed on one of the next lines. Is there some kind of a version conflict when trying to read the command "'ApJServGroup'"?

    Team Folder in the past was managed by administrators. Administrator can create, edit, delete team folders. The team folder can be published to a group of users, including Active Directory group.     With that one, first try uninstalling and reinstalling your MobileMe Control Panel for Windows, robin. Does that make the error go away?

    Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
    1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
    2) Restarted computer and still got error message
    3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
    4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
    5) Restarted computer.
    6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
    No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working.

    Been having a few problems with my Equius so decided to boot, do F8, and do a toshiba system restore.
    Started up, and began formatting the disk. All of a sudden it blue screened.
    Trouble is now I cant even boot that far to get the recovery/restore option. I get :-
    Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the
    cause. . .

    So, if recovery media was not delivered I think you have newest notebook model. Recovery media is not delivered with new notebooks and it must be created using preinstalled "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator".     So now the question: Have you seen this reminder? Have you ignored it? Have you started preinstalled OS at the first day?

    Sorry for all those questions but lot of people make big mistake: they don't even start preinstalled Vista and install WXP immediately.
    On this way you will not be able to create recovery DVD and you will also loose F8 option to install Vista from HDD.
    To be honest I don't know why this thread was posted under WXP category. As I wrote before after WXP installation on new notebooks you will not be able to use F8 and HDD recovery option.
    So if you want good answer please explain to us exactly which notebook model do you have and what you have done in the past.

    That DLL is part of your printer driver; reinstall or update the device driver for your printer, and the message should go away.

    Hi Lydia,
    there should be a MMC (Management console) also. Please start it and see what happens there. It also will give you more extensive protocols then what you have here.

    My friend tried to recover his laptop by using the recover button u can do from (controlpanel) and systems. It failed and when I try to start his laptop it says the typically Windows failed to start, \Windows\system32\winload.exe. Status:0xc000000f.
    If it was my own laptop and if it was a desktop I would just make a clean installation. Delete all partitions and install new windows. But his laptop got these ones........

    So if I could prevent deleting all partions and do a normal recovery it would be great.

    SO guys what should I do? DOnt wanna destroy his laptop   cause he needs to use it at saturday.

    I hope there is another computer around using the same version of windows 7. You need to create a repair disc. Then you need to run a startup repair.

    I just updated my iphone 4 to OS5. I activated imessage but when I turn restrictions 'on' imessage reverts to 'off' The restrictions that I have are : Facetime and Ping are 'off' and location and accounts are set to 'no change'. I can't see any logic
