ITuns just plays half a song

I have a problem with just one song actually. The song only plays till halfway and then iTunes skips to the next song, while Windows Media Player plays the song completely, so the problem lies with iTunes.
At first I had a short version of a song with a duration of 2:44. I found an extended version which was 5:00. I replaced the file of the short version (and removed this) with the file of the longer version. When I try to play the song, iTunesq gives a notification that the original file couldn't be found. I click 'Search' and select the new longer version of the song. When I then try to play the longer version, iTunes only plays 2:44 (duration of the short version) and then skips to the next song.
I also tried to remove the song of my iTunes library and add it again, but still I have the same problem, while there is no problem with WMP.
How can I solve this problem? I hope everything is clear.

Drag the file to the desktop. Use Windows to modify its filename, e.g. by adding "long version" to the name. In iTunes, delete its library entry. Now re-add the file to your library. iTunes should create a new library entry with no memory of the old one.
PS - also as a check, right-click in iTunes, Get Info, look at the Options tab, and make sure that a "Stop" time is not set to less than the end of the song.

ITunes just plays one song at a time now

It seems like prior to this last update, my iTunes would play each song within a playlist (one song after another, etc).
But now, after it plays one song, it just stops. These are the exact same playlists that it used to play all the way through (one song after another, according the order of the songs within the playlist).
Does anyone know why iTunes stops playing after one song (within a playlist)? Then, I select the next song manually, and it plays it, but of course it stops playing once again when it gets to the end of that song too. Basically it just stops playing after each song. Why won't it just keep playing (each song) like it used to?

Are there check marks beside all the songs in the playlist? Unchecked songs have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked songs will play one after the other. I use itunes match on my iphone but some of the songs are only half downloaded. It will play half the song and then skip to the next one but it appears on the screen that the first song is still playing.

When I encounter glitches like this the first thing I always try is to force quit the Music app. See if that helps.

Itunes match plays half of my songs only iphone

I have an album i bought and added it to iTunes, on my mac. On the mac it plays fine no issues but on my iPhone though iTunes match it plays half way through the song then the sound stops as if the rest of the song is muted. On some occasions the sound of the next song comes out but the progress bar is still showing it playing the previous song.

I am having the same issues. Certain songs only play for 15 seconds on iPad or iPhone (both running iOS 7) before skipping to the next song. It is a mix of matched, purchased, and uploaded songs. All songs play just fine on both my MacBook and PC, both downloaded and streaming from the cloud. Doesn't matter if the music is downloaded or not on the iOS device, both ways have the same problem with songs only playing for 15 seconds.
The kicker is that these songs used to play just fine on my iPad and iPhone, it only started acting up a day or two ago. Apple...please help...
Would also like to add that AppleTV plays them just fine as well from iTunes match...clearly an iOS only problem...

Hey, i just bought songs from iTunes and one of the songs is only played half way through and then iTunes skips to the next song. How can i fix that? thanks

1. Delete the song from your iTunes library
2. Redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links
(Quick Links is on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes)
3. Check and play song- it should play in its entirety now. If not contact support.

Downloaded songs from iTunes only plays half way and it cut off

I downloaded an album in the itunes store and the first and last songs only play half way through in itunes and then stop. My iphone sync'd wirelessly and got the complete songs. Any ideas on what happened? Can I redownload them?

Are they playing normal in iTunes or iPod?
if skipping in iPod, are you listening via the earphone jack or the iPod Docking station?

Why won't iTunes just PLAY an album, in order, from start to finish?!

Very confused....I can't get an album to play through iTunes on my Mac anymore. It used to work just fine but now, no matter what I try, every time I try to play an album iTunes just picks one song at random from the album and plays that. It won't move on to the next one, even if I try to press the button to skip to the next track. It always seems to play the same track and won't let me do anything!
It's really annoying and I can't see what is different from before I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Getting thoroughly disheartend with iTunes lately; wish I had never bothered downloading the latest version-it's horrible!
Can anyone out there help with a straight forward and not-too-technical explanation to help me to be able to play an album, from start to finish , in the order it was made without having to mess about? I am not used to the whole "Apple" way of working yet- previously had a PC with Windows Media Player which worked really easily. iTunes is infuriating me so far!

Open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar and View>Show Status Bar. This will make the new version appear more like earlier versions. Then go to the Controls menu at the top, choose Shuffle and click "Turn Off Shuffle" (if it shows this).

"iTunes Radio" Plays Exactly One Song

On my Mac Pro, iTunes was upgraded to iTunes 11.1(126). It provides the option of listening to iTunes Radio.
I've listened to Pandora in the past and decided to give iTunes Radio a listen. Regardless of which "station" that I select, only 1 song will play each day. If you switch to a second station, you will see the title of the song that is to play next and the name of the artist performing the song. If you are lucky, you might hear a scond or two of the song.
If iTunes Radio isn't supported by iTunes 11.1, why was such a big deal made about it earlier this month? I may not be able to listen to an entire song in the iTunes Store but I can, at least, stream a portion of every track of an album. What am I missing?

I'm having a very similar issue. Here's what happened to me:
I created a station from a band and began to add other bands. The first few songs played correctly. At a certain point though, after 7-10 bands had been added, it played to the end of the song and then the station stopped. I can sometimes get it to play again but it just replays the last song again and doesn't advance to any other songs.
I can create a new station which seems to play normal.
I'm guessing there's a bug that happens when adding a certain number of artists to your station.

ITunes only plays half a podcast

I have an audio podcast. On my phone, it is 1 hour and 54 minutes, but on iTunes on my mac it is only 58 minutes (Mavericks 10.9.4).
I have tried going to the properties of the podcast and changing the start and end times, but i can't change the end time to anything more than 58mins...
Any ideas?

In my case i am using a firefox browser, all you have to do is to download the add-ons "download helper" nd once you've downloaded it, you'll see a talisman look like on the upper left corner on the sreen and you can now start to download. HOW???
just play the song you like on the net and once you've see the download helper moving it means that it automatically looking for the source of the file.
just click it and you'll see a selection from the download helper
and if you want to make sure that it will work, you can also format the song by using FORMAT FACTORY, you can view the tutorial on youtube.

My iTunes wont accept half my songs?

Recently I got a new computer and did not back up my itunes, ive been trying to put all of my songs onto my new itunes from my iphone by using an extracting tool. i managed to obtain all of the music from my iphone which i was planning to put onto my new itunes, i saved all of the songs from my iphone to my computer then located them through itunes and loaded them onto itunes, the only problem is that my itunes wont accept half of my songs, ive got all the songs i want on my computer but half of them on itunes? can somebody help and tell me how to get all of my songs from my computer to itunes?

Are the video files in a compatible format. iTunes handles .mov, .mp4 and .m4v. For anything else there are likely to be third party players.

When i select a song to play from my library i get a different song to the one selected. Usually the same 3 or 4 are played every time.
If i select a song from my purchased playlist that plays the selected song!!
