Ive got an ipod touch 4th generation and the screen got a crack
A few months ago i dropped my ipod touch and its screen got cracked.its working fine but the screen is starting to get an grey spot from the right side top end which is blocking the battery sign and the spot is growing larger.is there anyway i can get it fixed?what is the reason for this problem??
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

Reason is the moisture/humidity got into the screen internals through the crack and that is effecting the actual LCD in that area

The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons and await restart. No content will be affected.

You can always go to the Apple Store and ask and sometimes people get lucky. Most of the time Apple requires that you pay the repair price listed here: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
The least expensive way to repair (although it will void your warranty) is to go to ebay and search ipod touch 4th glass service and there are people who do it for as low as $60. -
I recently purchased a new iPod Touch. The "keyboard" of my first generation was beginning to play up, but it still worked fine with my TomTom carkit (if you'll allow for the fact that being restricted to OS 3 meant you couldn't update the software either). But, contrary to what I'd been told, the fourth generation one refuses to work. I think it's making contact because I hear the connection beep, but it doesn't charge up or seem able to find the satellite connection. I've seen someone saying it was a physical width problem. If it's making contact, why isn't it capable to pick up a signal? Is there a compatibility issue after all?
Got you! Why this didn't come up in my search before, have no idea. So it's all a question of design... How mean not to inform manufacturers of accessories about the change in specs. About to try the folded-over business card solution and then Velcro if the former doesn't give satisfaction. Did actually buy a silicon case, but it makes the protective filter buckle as it gets under the edges which isn't exactly useful. Went back to my previous leather case which I have to remove to use the car kit...

I just got a new iPod touch 4th generation and the latest iOS update (4.3.3) isnt installing
It says the software version is 4.2.1 amd that it's downloaded the iOS 4.3.3 version, but when I hit the update button it does the "extracting" bit and then when it gets to the "verifying update with Apple" it says

I looked up that error and it said that that meant that my iTunes wasnt up to date. I checked, but it actually was up to date, but I re-installed the whole thing just to be sure, but it's still not updating.Yep, it say iTunes 10.3.1.55
I tried searching for 3194, and someone pointed to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error3194 and that says:
Error 3194: Resolve error 3194 by updating to the latest version of iTunes. "This device is not eligible for the requested build" in the updater logs confirms this is the root of the issue. For more Error 3194 steps see: This device is not eligible for the requested build above.
I'm sure I have the latest version of iTunes, but what's an updater log? -

I just got a new iPod touch 4th generation and I'm trying to connect to my router and my iPod says, 'Cannont find network.' I don't know what to do! No other networks come up on the list so I can't 'tag' along with thier wifi. Please help. I need advice.
What type network is yu router set up for? The 4G iPod can only connect and see 2.4 GHZ networl like B, G and the 2,4 GHz N. There is also a 5 GHz N but the iPod will not even seethat network.

I updated my iPod touch 4th generation from the latest iOS 4 update (i think maybe iOS 4.3.5 or something like that) to iOS 5.1.1. I updated to iOS 5.1.1 on a Windows XP Home Edition with the Service Pack 3 installed on the Windows XP (which I believe is the latest version). After updating, I unplugged my iPod from the computer. I saw that all my photos and videos were on my iPod, but there were no apps. A window popped up and told me to enter a passcode for my iPod. I entered a passcode. I then locked my iPod and entered what I thought to be the correct passcode, but my iPod remained unlocked. Desperate, I tried many passcodes with failure. After a while, my iPod became disabled for a long time. I decided to reset my iPod. After I reseted it, I chose to reset from my earlier back up. After reseting, my computer loaded on all my apps. But, when I started using my iPod, I realized all my photos, videos, music, app data (like game saves and high scores), etc. were gone! I have no idea what to do and I am very stressed about this! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET ALL MY STUFF BACK!!!!!!
Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup. -
