where we can see iview exceptions . that is in log file where the log file will be. regarding to iviews properties and doing task can any body refer any links . i need to work on iviews.

It appears in the following iview: System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Property Metadata -> Properties. Some content is displayed when we want to view or edit some property, and then the exception appears at the page´s end.
We are working with NW04 Portal SP15.
I´ll appreciate any help on this issue.

Problem with UWL iView path now I corrected it and could see preview of uwl. I have identified few issue on this context -
One is, when I see the preview of sap given standard uwl page (content provided by sap -> end user content -> ....Universal worklist) I could see default view with 5 tabs, where as if I assign eu_role or eu_core_role to user then browse Home -> work -> Universal Worklist then I could see single tab named "Open Items" alone.
We are using sap standard configurations and no customization had done, and more over working on BPM so I have checked uwl.standard.xml & uwl.bpem.xml configuration files with Q system where UWL UI and functinality is working fine.
Here my question is, Is the problem with eu_role & eu_core_role..or how come in run time UI is changing.
Second one is, If I tried to check system connection by click on Display Connection Status at UWL page getting error - Page not found or not available I am not sure where to check this.
I assigned Process viewer as related link to uwl page, If I open that link getting error as No autorization and the same error even to see preview at iView level as well. usr having BPEM End user role.

Can't see iView exceptions at the defaultTrace

Hello,
When I receive this red error on an iView (for example):
Exception id: 03:31_07/02/06_0280_3927452

At my development portal I can see it at the defaultTrace but when I receive it at my production portal I don't see anything. The only difference between the two is the the development portal has one node and the production portal is clustered with 3 nodes which all of them (I think, since I haven't changed the default values) write to the same defaultTrace file. I have two questions:
1. Why is this happening and how can I see the error at the production portal as well?
2. How can it be that the portal displays a message saying that the error has an ID which has been written to the log file yet I can't see it?

Anyhow, you can merge the different default.X.trc files from different nodes using the LogViewer, so you search in "one" merged log, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/63/ca77ee8aff1b408c87b749bd59b19a/frameset.htm

at least I do not, but to get a bit more information, have a look at usr\sap\...\j2ee\...\cluster\server\managers\log\portal\logs\portal.log
There you will find the exception with the given ID. Maybe this helps, maybe not (directly). In the latter case, you could post the excpetion itself, it says more than a thousand pictures

Iview height is not changing

Hi Experts,
I have a problem in fixing the iview heights
I have 4 iviews in a page and I am using 2 columns page layout.
Each column contains two iviews.
First column first iview and second column first iview are in same alignment.
Now I want to align the other two iviews.
for this I used fixed type for the top iviews in both columns, but they are not working
Any sugesstons would be appreciated.

The problem is not solved , we just came to a conclude.
The iview I mentioned is a copy of tool area iview in the portal masthead. I am using this iview at some other place in my portal.
I am able to change the iview height for all the iviews except this iview.
May be it is a standard iview and that is the reason why it is not changing.

How to set Portal Theme for WDA iView different from user's Theme

Hi Experts!
I have dual-stack system: ABAP server + Java. I have WDA application in ABAP server and I deployed it to NW Portal via iView (using template).
There are two themes customized:
1: Standard - to be used for all iviews except WDA iviews. This theme is set as default for user.
2.: WDA theme - to be used for some WDA iviews IRRESPECTIVELY what them is set in personalization settings of the user.
So my question is:
Can I somehow set the Portal Theme to be used for specific iView no matter what Theme user has selected in his personalization?
Or if its not possible, can I set some specific Theme for WDA application?
So taks is to overcome settings for default portal theme for user and replace it with different theme. Is this possible?

Are you using an LDAP as your UME, or are the user records from from R/3 ?
Apparently (Ive never done it) you used to be able to force a default language by editing this file (back in the EP5 days):
<J2EE root>\WEB-INF\portal\system\properties\prtDefault.properties
Look at the following lines :
This is the default language to be used when none is specified
request.defaultlanguage=en
request.defaultcountry=us
If you prefer to have the same language for all users no matter their user locale, change the lines to this :
This is the default language to be used when none is specified
request.mandatorylanguage=en
request.mandatorycountry=us

Issue on Creating RFx in webdynpro ABAP application - SRM Business Package

We are in to SRM 7.0 with the same version of Business Package in SAP Portal also.
I am trying to create a RFx from Portal which in turn calls the webdynpro ABAP application (Strategic Purchasing->Strategic Sourcing->Create Documents->RFx)
sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif.
This Application has some button called "Tech RFx", "Permissions" etc., When I click on those buttons it throws the error as below :
"There is no iView available for system "SAP_SRM": object "TechResp". For more information, contact your administrator."
Please let me know where we are missing. I have checked all the Portal permissions. Even I can able to access all other iviews except this two buttons.
Any settings or parameters required on webdynpro ABAP side.

Dear Raja,
this behavior occurs if the IView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp
is not assigned to the role which is assigned to the user.
Please assign this IView to the desired user.
Here are the steps to follow in your systems:
STEP 1: Login to the Portal with Content Admin Authorization.
STEP 2: Navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
specialist -> SRM7.0 -> Core -> Roles -> Open the desired role and
choose Navigation Folder.
STEP 3: Now navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
specialist -> SRM7.0 -> PPS -> iViews -> Tendering -> Select Tech
Responses (Technical name is iView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp) and
right click and choose 'Add iView to Role' -> Delta Link and save.
STEP 4: Log off and login with the user and check the issue.

Could not load or refresh node tree creation failed on node

Hi Experts
I created one user with MSS role and ERP COMM role.
It is working fine. We restarted the server for other purpose. Then surprisingly the MSS role was locked. I am unable to see the MSS tab in the top level navigation.
When i expand the workset in line manager -> Manager Self Service -> Worksets
I am getting the following error::
Could not load or refresh node tree creation failed on node:
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.worksets
I can be able to expand and priveiw the Pages and iviews, except the worksets
Please guide me, i am badly stucked here.

W-4 tax with holding ESS

Hi All
We are trying to implement W-4 tax with holding functionality in ESS. We are on ECC 5.0. When I try to open this application in the portal I dont get any form in the Iview except the 4 steps overview/Edit/Review and save/ Completed and a button 'Exit' for exiting the application.
Can some body please suggest what are the pre requisites for this application to function properly.

Hi,
To make the W4 tax witholding available under ESS in portal, you need to add a new resource, corresponding service, and add the service to a subarea/area in the HomePage Framework. This is the way to add a service to the ESS. You can find the appropriate node for doing these things in IMG -> Cross-Application Components -> Home-Page Framework.
After doing these R/3 configurations, you have to create a new iview and page and add it to the ESS role in the portal for this service.
For an employee, you need to maintain infotype '210' for the W$ information.

I hate EP6 SP9 logging

Iview exceptions used to appear directly on the HTML page, I don't know what you did with this release but it's really not intuitive. Where are all the easy to use controls and JSPLogger Iviews ?
I tried using the portal logger, I can't even find it!
I get something like this on the screen:

I've found two ways for finding some better log with compile errors in a jsp-page.
1) when testing the application in an iView, view the source-code of the error-page and there will be some details somwhere in the stacktrace (unfortunately the stylesheet sets this tag to invisible):

Thank you for your inputs.
I had raised an OSS Message with SAP some days ago on this issue. SAP has replied back saying that only users with Content Administration role can have access to configure portal acyivity report. All other users can only view the results.

Null pointer exception with the Record working time iView

I am facing a strange situation over here, I am testing with three user ids and with only one manager user id I am getting below java runtime error. Please help me out in finding a solution for this. When I log in with the other two test ids I am able to open the iView and submit my time sheet with out any exceptions but only with one user id I am getting this kind of error.

Hi,
This runtime error occurs when the application fails to resolve the pernr of the logged in user in the backend. Could you please check if the user has correct assignment in IT0105. If you are using CE, kindly check if the CE settings are properly checked. Also check if the IT0105 is correctly shared across all the CE assignments.

Dear Raja,
I loggged into Visual Admin to change the value of sap.ADSCallingMode", from "http" to "soap. but that particular property is not maintained in the default property sheet in the following path
Server -> Services -> Configuration Adapter -> webdynpro -> sap.com -> tcwddispwda.
but you can see in the error trace i have given above that it is a SOAP based request. I am on EP 6 SP 9; will I have to upgrade or is it any other problem?

Anonymous BSP iview on EP 7.0 throws exception

we are in ramp for NW04s and we are in the process of migrating our current Erecruite content from NW04 SPS14 to NW04s SPS7.
we have a few BSP iviews that access an erecruite BSP application. it all works fine as long as we access content as authenticated users. however when this content is assigned to the group Anonymous Users we get the following error for only iviews accessing the com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.BSP component.

we have assigned the authentication scheme 'anonymous' for all content and set the permissions.
is this a bug in EP 2004s SPS7 portal or we are misssing something.

How did you manage to resolve the BSP iView error for anonymous access ?
We are facing the same issue after we patched our portal NW04s to SP09.
The configuration was working until SP06, but the moment SP09 is put in place - the config is broken only for Anonymous user it gives us a error.
