Iview Km, Entry Points.
Hi,
I've created a Iview type Km Entry Points. I've my Desktop and my theme. When I show the Km Iview into the standard theme, the iview show Ok but when i show de Iview into my theme, the text into the iview is very small, if i show another iview, the text show ok. Why the Km Iview Entry Points shows different into my theme and into standard theme?
Thanks.
Hi Guillermo ,
Try checking this in some other theme also , i pressume for KM iviews it refers to some other Css files .Just create a theme out of standard theme , dnt change anything and assign the new theme to the portal desktop .
Check what is the impact on this .
Thanks

2. Edit the wpcDragExplorerEntryPoints configuration object.
Use the following parameters:
<u>Parameter: Description</u>
displaymode:Specify <i>select</i>
maxproviderprio: Highest priority number that standard entry points can have and still be displayed in the Web content browser

Examples of parameter values (for sharedcontent param):

Web Page Composer: Problems creating entry points for iViews
Hi experts, i´ve been trying to add an iView to a page. I know i have to create an entry point to a folder created on the PCD.
I followed instructions on help link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/06/4776399abf4b73945acb8fb4f41473/content.htm
Now, when i try to create a new entry point link to the pcd folder i don´t see any navigation that can get me to the pcd.
Actually When i click the browse button it opens the Web Content folder where i can see 2 subfolders
- Cross-Site Content
- Sites
I also have this options:
- Favorites
- Personal Documents
- Recently used
- Common folders
- Public Documents
None of it seems to be the access to the PCD.
I´ll appreciate any help
Thanks in advanceHi Sandeep,
i don't know if your problem was solved already.
Here a quick overview of all steps, that you need to perform.
1. Make your PCD available in the KM.( See Link below for details) Your folders need to have 'Read'-Permission for the Everyone-group!
2. Search your iView-folder now in the KM. Look at Details -> Properties -> Access Links -> ID
3. Provide this ID in the wpcDragExplorerEntryPoints . (Should be sharedcontent=/wpccontent/Cross-Site Content;/documents/MyFolder; /pcd)

Entry Point not visible in Navigation
Hello,
we have a strange behaviour in the portal. We created a role and assigned Worksets, Pages and iViews to the role. The role is defined as an entry point.
So long everything worked fine.
We transported the whole package to an other system. On this system we assigned the role to a group xxx-all. nearly every portal user is member of this group. Now the following behaviour occured:
-Not every user can see this role, even it is assigned to the user (via the group)
-A user who was not able to see the entry point became able to see the entry point after assigning him to an other group (the admin role is assigned to this group)
-After assigning the role to a single user directly the user was still not able to see the entry point.
My first question is: Is it possible that the portal content permissions on the role have impact, whether the role can be seen or not. In my opinion those settings have no impact.
Or is there an other place in the portal where permissions can be set that maybe cause this behaviour?
Any other ideas?
Kind regards,
dominikHello,
thanks for your help...
in the link above the following is described:
<i>The availability of roles at runtime in the navigation iViews (top-level navigation and detailed navigation) is determined by the users, groups, and roles assigned to a role principle in the Role Assignment tool. <b>The end user permission setting on role objects has no effect on the runtime availability of roles in the portal navigation.</b></i>
This means that the setting of permissions has no impact on the availibility of a role as long as the role is assigned to a user... Or do I understand something wrong?
Kind regards,

Default Entry for Folder & Entry Point
Hello,
What's the difference between the two options ?
Thanks for your helpChristophe,
Could you be more clear ?
Entry point for what ? roles, entrypoints repository so on.
Entry points allow you to navigate from an iView to various KM folders that may be located in different repositories. You use entry points in the following places:
Entry Points iView
Selection screen (for example, when copying or moving items in KM folders)
Go To menu in KM navigation iViews

Entry Point for internal KM links
Hi,
Using a KM Navigation iView (LinkListExplorer Layout Set) I want to add a link to an internal KM document using "Organize Entries" -> Context Menu -> New -> Link. When I press browse I can start browsing from where the link will be inserted, but I want to start browsing for the target "higher" in the KM structure. A shot in the dark was to set the Root Folder for Navigation parameter to where I wanted to start browsing (but this did not help).
Someone got a solution for this, or can point me in the right direction?
best,
BjornHi,
In the KM Navigation iview you have two parameters:
Path to Initially Displayed Folder: from where you want to navigate.
Path to Root Folder for Navigation: you can leave in blank this field.
When you press Organize Entries, you can only navigate from where you have defined in the iview.
An approach is you can use entry point repositories, when you press browse link button, you are going to see these repositories. These entries are going to appear as Favorites, Personal Documents, Public Document so on.. in More link you see all your entry points.

Changing Entry point programmatically
Hai,
Is it possible to change the attributes "Entry Point" of a role through codes.
We have a requirement in which during night time some of the roles attached to the user should be shown. So I thought if if change the "Entry Point" of the roles to no then the contents of the roles will not be shown. Whether this approach will work or is there anyother way to do this.
Please let me know.
Thank & Regards,

How to create new KM "Entry Point"
Hi Could someone guide me how to create a new Entry Point
(Note:Not the PCD navigation entry point)
"An entry point provider makes one or more folders available as links that you can access from a central point"
Thanks
RockyRocky,
Entry points allow you to navigate from an iView to various KM folders that may
be located in different repositories.
Try these urls
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/54/3d754067025537e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e2/2d354036052c22e10000000a1550b0/content.htm

Hi Experts,
Can anybody tell me what is Entry point property in roles ?
Thanks a lot .Hi,
As mentioned, Entry point defines if the role needs to be displayed for navigation. E.g., Consider role -> workset -> page -> iView, here if you set all entry points to false, nothing will appear in portal. If you set role entry point true, then role and workset appears in TLN while page and iVIew occupies DTN. If role entry point is false but workset is true, then level starts from workset. Workset and page displays in TLN while iView alone in DTN and so on. Higher the hierarchy, higher the preference which means since role holds higher hierarchy than iVIew, if both entry points are set to true, role is considered first. Hope that answers the question.

Can Individual Users Define Portal Entry Points?
Hi All,
Is it possible for individual portal users to define their own entry points into the Portal or can this only be done on a role by role basis?
To clarify, lets say User A is assign the Manufacturing role which has three worksets called Home, Supply and Commercial. The role has been configured to automatically open "Home" but User A wants his role to automatically open "Supply" - is this possible?
Thanks in advance,
Oloy.Hi Michael,
Thanks for your response.
I suspected that it wasn't possible but it's always best to clarify.
So essentially, I am the only person who can define the entry points for all of the Portal Roles.
You mention quick links, how/where are these defined? Are they defined in the iView? Where do the quick links appear once they have been created?
Thanks,
Oloy. -
Recent Documents Entry Point - Increase number of documents listed
Hi there,
Does anyone know how to increase the number of documents that get listed in the "recent documents" entry point. It seems to be set to a default of 5, and I would like it to be more.
Thanks,
TomSo thats the reason, probably you are not using ConsumerExplorer Layout
As the first step then, we need to know then which Layout is been used for this.
The easiest way is to enable debug settings for your user id.
TO enable debug settings,
Goto->System Administration->KNowledge Management->Content Management->
User Interface->(Advanced Mode)->Debugging settings->WDFProxy->
Enable Rendering Information
Give your portal id in the UI Superusers list.
After this, on every KM Navigation iView you will get a link called Rendering Information on the top.
This link will help you in finding out which layout is being used for any KM Nav iView.
After finding that, we need to modify the collection renderer applied to this Layout.

Hi all! Question is:How can I make a room as entry point?
I have made new room and I need some users to access this room directly after logon.
Hello Anton:
There are two possibilities:
1. you can use a page as an entry point with a link to the room. (the URL you find within the room maintenance of a room).
2. you use the room directory as an entry point and define the iView parameter to the room name. This way only this room will be displayed.
The search filters you have to set to False in this case.
iView Property Room Name
ViewParameter LARGE or NARROW
TabParameter ALL or MYROOMS or COMMUNITIES
or ALLROOMS
CategoryFilterParameter true or false
CategoryParameter valid category
TemplateFilterParameter true or false
TemplateParameter valid template
SearchFilterParameter true or false
SearchStringParameter room name
