Iview templates are disabled

Hi,
I installed EP 7.1,NW04S.But I am not able to work on portal development as well as Netweaver administrator.
In portal I am not able to select iView from the templates list. All radio buttons of the iView are disabled.
Apart from this I am not able to work on webdynpro administrator also. After giving the URL of the webdynpro administrator SAP Net weaver Administrator tab thronging error like 404 not found.
Can someone give me the idea to resolve the issue?

If you hace access to default.trc , post the detailed logfile related to 404 error and any logfile related to iview template also.

How to get the whole list of Iview Templates

Hi,
when I navigate:
Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Templates -> Iview Templates
I get a long list of templates including Url Iviews etc
But, when I try to create my own Iview, the list of potential templates is much smaller, mainly including only the SAP related templates, BSP, Query, ITS etc.
Does anyone know how to make the full list of Iview Templates available for the Iview creation wizard ?

Hi Tomas,
which iView templates are offerd within the iView creation wizard is determined by SystemAdmin -- Permissions -- Portal Permissions -- Applications.
Normally, you will have to have SuperAdminRole to see/change these settings.

Word macros are disabled after converting to a PDF document.

We work with Word templates that contain macros.
After you convert a Word document into a PDF document, the macros of the attached template are disabled.
The conversion takes place via the Adobe Acrobat icons.
Used Products:
- Windows7
- With Office 2007 SP2
- Adobe Acrobat 9.3.3 Pro
The described problem only occurs in Word. Outlook, Excel and Power Point are not affected.

The error message you were receiving occurs when you try to convert a dynamic PDF file created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer. This file is usually already a fillable form. Unfortunately there is no workaround available for converting documents like this within the ExportPDF service.

BusinessObjects Portal Integration - iView Template Missing

Hello
I have installed my BusinessObjects for Portal as follows:
1. We already have BI 7.0 on SQL 2005 on BIDEMOSER SERVER.
2. Installed BusinessObjects Enterprise 3.1 , Crystal Reports 2008, SAP GUI 7.1 and SAP Integration Kit on this new server name : BODEMOSER.
3. We already have EP 7.0 on Oracle 10.2 on EPDEMOSER SERVER.
I have installed the BOE 3.1 and Integrated with the BI Server and imported the roles and all the functions are working fine between BO and BI.For Portal Integration i have transferred the masterview file from BODEMO SERVER com.businessobjects.pct.masteriview.par to the EPDEMOSER SERVER.
And it was uploaded in the EPDEMOSER SERVER System Administration--> Support --> uploaded successfully.And I have followed the SSO configuration as per te guide. And values in the Web.xml files are properly as per the guide.
After the uploading the masterview par file i could not able to view the iView template in the System.I have cleaned the cookes and all temp files.
As per the guide I have created an folde name BI_BO and SYstem name as BI_BO_DEMO.Now when I started creating a iView Template by right clicking the System name BI_BO_DEMO and provided the following parameters for each Property Category.

Whether i should install the BO Integration kit in EP portal also or any Portal Inetgration kit is available.

1. Whether Integration kit for SAP should be installed in EP Server also ( which has been installed in BO server for BI and the SSO for BI and EP STRUSTSSO2 also works fine.
- the portal is acting as the frontend for viewing content and yes there needs to be trust between your portal and your BW system
2. the connector parameter and the iview template object parameter as correct as per the distributed enviorment.
When i checked with portal; admin they asked doubt what should be crystal enterprise server ( BO) and the what is the server should connector parameter should have.
- the Crystal Enterprise parameter do not influence the connector properties and do not lead to the point that the connector settings fail. the Crystal Enterprise parameters are only relevant when viewing SAP BusinessObjects related content.
Make sure you connector settings work even without the Crystal Enterprise parameters first.

Problem in creating iview template in EP7.0

I getting the below message even after creating the iview template in EP7.0
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."
Created through:
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR file)" <next> --> seleting "com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap" <next> --> webdynpro <next> --> finish.
Open object for editing...--> Object is a Template to Yes.
Result :
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "iview template- create an iView from an existing iView template" <next> which displays the same message.
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."

do have the right permissions? You can check this using the Permission Editor (Applications, PCD)
What role are you assigned to? Content Administrator? System Administrator or even Super Administrator?
Doesthe same error occur when you're logged in as Super Administrator?

"Macros in this project are disabled..." error message when creating PDF files

The following error occurs when creating a PDF file using a document that was created from a MS Word 2007 templates.
"Macros in this project are disabled..."
The security settings are set appropriately - it's not that. I have done everything I can think of including asking Microsoft; they say it's not them. It may not be, but I do not know how to get around it. It did not happen before upgrading my templates to the Office 2007 format.
Has this happened to anyone else? There is no coding within th etemplates regartding PDFs. We are using Adobe Professional X. The error only occurs when we use Adobe Pro X.
One thing I just noticed, our templates get the following message when we go to save as a PDF using Adobe:
Acrobat PDFMAker needs to save the file before continuing. Do you want PDFMaker to save the file and continue?

Does it work the first time after you delete your Normal.dotm file? You may be running into the same issue that is detailed in this post Unable to open document. Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file.

Update and Delete option are disable

there is option to add new template but option to delete and Update are disable. (Localized Templates Region)
How to enable them. (Is there any setup required for this?)

Hi,
Since 'Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet' is a standard Template, you will not abe able to delete or update it.
If you need to customize it, You need to copy it to another template and upload your custom style sheet.
Then you need to attach this custom template to standard PO using the following navigation:
a) Purchasing SuperUser -> Setup -> Pruchasing -> Document Types ->(It will open a new OAF window)
b) Click 'Update' Icon on 'Purchase Order Standard''
c) Change 'Document Type Layout' and select your Custom template.

Define iView template for role upload

Hi
We maintain our user roles in the BI system and use the role upload function in the portal. When a role containing eg. a BI report is uploaded to the portal an Iview for the report is automatically generated based on an iView template. How can I define which template the portal should use for generating the iViews?

The templates are defined by the role upload and cannot be changed.
Regarding BI 7 Please see note: 1121962.
Also this are the thing you can configure in the role upload:

No WebDynpro iView Template found in content administrator menu (NW 7.1)

Dear Sir/Madam,
I tried to integrate a sample application in my local portal, but I did not found the webdynpro iview template to accomplish this in the content adminstrator menu.
I found the webdynpro iview template for webdynpro ABAP, but not the on for webdynpro java.
Is this a problem of my installation or are there some prerequisites which I miss?

Approve buttons are disabled in 2nd approver

Hello,
I have implemented the N-step approval BADI for BID Invitation just cut&paste from the sample. The issue is Approve, Reject and Hold buttons are disabled in approval screen (saplbbp_bid_inv_300.html)in the 2nd approver. No problem for the 1st approver.

Maintain entries in tcode SWL1
Maintain Attributes EC_DECISION and EC_MAIL for those tasks that exist within your WF template.
You can also go through the IMG path. "Dynamic column integrator or something like that". I dont have a system in front of me.....

Template Builder - Upload Template Button Disabled

Hi,
I installed Oracle BI Desktop and logged into Publisher Server.
I see Open and Logoff button as Enabled.
But "Upload Template" and "Upload Template AS" buttons are disabled.
Any pointers?

Hi Nikhil,
Please use the "XML" button within you datamodel to export some sample data (or just create an empty xml file) and then click "Load sample data" within the BIP plugin. Select the XML file. Now al buttons will become available.

Hi Pramod,
The only purpose of a page layout is to layout the iviews in a page according to your needs. It could be for WPC or regular portal pages as well. For this I can't think of any other business scenario.
However, a template in general is like a blue print.
You can create an iview template, layout template or a page template by setting the property "Is a Template" to YES for any iview, layout or page.
So, in general:
If the standard delivered components do not serve our purposes. we create custom components and deploy them onto portal as .par applications.
Then from the .par deployed onto the portal,
1. We can directly create an iview (or) create an iview template first and then create iviews using the template.
2. We can directly create a layout (or) create a layout template first and then create layouts using the template.
If you create something (iview/page/layout) as a template, then it could be used as a blue print to create similar objects in the future.
Templates are generally created for ease of use and to maintain standards in the future.

Hello,
Does anyone know where I can get information on how themes are applied to the standard SAP and KM iView templates (such as SAP Transaction, SAP BSP, SAP IAC, SAP RFC, KM Search, KM Navigation, etc.)? Specifically, I'm trying to find out which iView templates use the portal theme and what settings/configuration are involved in setting their theme. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Hi Mike,
The theme editor generrally modifies the portal objects such as iView tray, colours etc.
Whatever is comming inside any iView as a content is affected diff with portal theme.
Such as the web dynpro contents are affected by the portal css files if they are run inside portal but they also have their own css which gets into display when run standalone.
Same is the situation for other iview contents. Plz check the contents that you are trying to show in the Transation iView.
I suppose in the tracation iView contents have their own css files and they are not affected by the portal css. But if you have some controls like tabstrip, table inthat content then it should pick up the portal theme if you have modified the theme of the controls in the theme editor.
Also i hope you are clearing your cache very well before veiwing you contents each time you change your theme..

Hi, we need an iview template that we uses very often in our portal implementation, the iview is like that:

-The date sometimes will be a title.
-See more will be a link, sometimes internal link, sometimes external link, sometimes and action.
-The content normally will be a list of content published. Limit to a number of rows.
All ideas in order to develope the template iview are welcomed.

i am not sure if this approach will suit your need.
