IWD Bus Enumerator
Lenovo Solution Center has identified that one of my IWD Bus Enumerators has a problem and has disabled it. Is there a way that I can rectify the problem or do I need to contact Lenovo for a warranty solution?
Hi,
I suspect that there’re some driver conflicts or you should install the latest drivers , I suggest you uninstall the issued one and reboot your PC, it will automatically install the drivers, check if it works.

But for detailed cause, I suggest you contact the Lenovo support.

"IWD Bus Enumerator disabled" error message in LSC after Windows 8.1 upgrade
Hi there,
I just upgraded my T430 from Windows 8 64-bit to Windows 8.1 64-bit.
After restart, LSC shows an "IWD Bus Enumerator disabled" error message. I went to the device manager, right clicked on IWD Bus Enumerator and selected the "update driver software" option. Message came back that the latest driver is already installed. By the way, in the device manager there are two lines "IWD Bus Enumerator", where the first line is normal (i.e., enabled), and the second line shows that error message (yellow triangle).
What next? Any ideas? My laptop seems to work fine, otherwise.
Best,
Sven
Solved!
Go to Solution.I resolved my issue by going to device manager and selecting View Hidden Devices - then expand System Devices
In my case there were 2 listings for IWD BUS ENUMERATOR - one had the yellow triangle - I uninstalled that one and restarted my laptop and the message was gone. If that does not work make sure you get the latest drivers from Lenovo and also visit Intel.com and search for WiDi - they have some programs to check drivers. -
Hang at "Bus Enumeration Determining Bus Type .."
Solaris 8 2/02 (also Solaris 7, 11/99), diskette images from Sun Site and delivered and CD's, hangs in DCA, either at "Bus Enumeration Determining Bus Type .." or any simple scan.

Windows 8.1? DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT
So!
Since getting my S440 laptop back in Septe, mber, I've been holding off the 8.1 upgrade. Until this weekend...
WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!
Some issues:
1) Laptop would not perform a standard re-start
2) On boot-up a pop-up would display saying Catalyst has crashed
3) Unable to install a newer version of VirtualBox (previous ones instaled fine under Windows 8
4) The IWD Bus Enumerator was reported as an error
(Some knowledge article advises to delete the "duplicate") - Really??? Do I have to?
Its taken me another day and a half to back-up key files, restore back to factory settings and re-install my apps.
Its been such a waste of time, It does make me wonder why in 2014 we can't get a simplified PC laptop. Instead we have microsoft, Lenovo, AMD, Intel etc etc each with their own little component and drivers and everything thta goes with it...
Its no wonder why people STILL get frustrated with PCs and the PC industry still shows itself up as a "techie" industry..
There seems to be very little interest in true co-operation between the parties and the focus is all about on shifting units and slam the next iteration out of the door...
People should not need to uninstall drivers first before running an upgrade, or delete system settings from Device Manage because somehow the upgrade caused a duplicate entry.... . Its madness...!!!!
Why can't Lemovo push down a small app to check the compatibility of its own equipment though the Lenovo Solution Centre or whatever its called. Or have a package that will clean up any rubbish / buggy Windows 8.1 upgrades that Microsoft can't be bothered to fix?
To anyone reading this and thinking to upgrade to Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo laptop - then save yourself some time and sanity and don't bother... (there might be other vendors in the same boat).
Until the above mentioned groups get their act together and provide a seamless, consistent way to upgrade then PCs will always be seen as the cross that we must be burdened with.. Its funny but had Lenovo themselves got an S440 off the shelf, ran all the updates possible and try and upgrade to 8.1 they'd see the problems for themselves.
What a shame.... Such a well built and very good product, let down by the software and drivers and companies that operate in their own silos.... It does make a strong argument for the likes of walled-garden systems.
Mark.....It's frustration....
As I mentioned the S440 is a very very good laptop and meets all my requirements for a small business laptop.
It just seems to me that an upgrade is still a hit-or-miss affair.
Years ago I'd have the time and patience to diagnose each error and search the boards and try things out, but
whether its old age, I just want things to work...
I don't think it's being unreasonable... But four major issues? - I was very surprised. Perhaps my "setup" was one of the unlucky ones.... It does beg the question the purpose / benefit of the Solution Centre. ? -

Amit -
I recently purcahsed a one year old Lenovo 3000, it had Windows XP installed and I upgraded this to Windows Vista with no problems. I then renamed the laptop and deleted the previous owners user files and that's when I had a problem. When I power down the laptop I get a Blue Screen saying something about a dump and saying it was doing something to protect my PC ? I found some kind of fault finding log and it mentioned something about the pc's name and also something about being unable to access a certain user file. I changed the computer name back to the original one and unerased the original user file but I still get the Blue Screen when powering down.
Is it possible to get a replacement software DVD that will get me back to square one please, thanks for any help. Dan McLean in Port Glasgow. This really sounds like shoddy drivers combined with an IRQ conflict.
I suggest you post your IRQ's from System Info, for example:
IRQ 0 System timer OK
IRQ 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard OK
IRQ 4 Communications Port (COM1) OK
IRQ 5 WinFast TV2000 XP WDM Audio Capture OK
IRQ 6 Standard floppy disk controller OK
IRQ 8 System CMOS/real time clock OK
IRQ 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System OK
IRQ 11 NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management OK
IRQ 12 Logitech-compatible Mouse PS/2 OK
IRQ 13 Numeric data processor OK
IRQ 14 Primary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 15 Secondary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 16 RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition OK
IRQ 17 WinFast TV2000 XP WDM Video Capture OK
IRQ 18 Creative SB Live! series OK
IRQ 20 NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator OK
IRQ 21 Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller OK
IRQ 22 Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller OK
IRQ 23 Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller OK
Also, as you intend to DL and install the nVidia Drivers make sure you get the sound drivers from Realtek Downloads too.
What Drivers are you using for the AIW?
Take all the Driver CD's and make pretty Christmas tree ornaments out of them
~Edit~ I just looked at the stop error again and realized I misread, then I saw Supershanks post My initial suspicion is likely to be wrong, but it's worthe a look anyway. -
i tried to respond to it, unfortunately, because of this program, adobe flash player 11, i am unable to do so. i un-installed it and downloaded and re-installed version 10.3 and still i'm having the same problems. i am also unable to see what is in the inbox of my email. the thing says it's installed, but when i do the "manage add ons" routine, like other people, it's not there. you tube still swears i don't have a current version of flash player, and it also swears i don't have java. neither of these are true. you guys released a product that is destroying and wreaking havoc on computers. now, as for my system information, here it is in full:

i await your response. be forewarned, i'll have to start a whole new topic in order to respond, seeing as anytime i click on the "reply" button nothing happens. that is the same issue with trying to download the new flash player 11 from the download page. i click on the link, nothing happens. now, i'm having this problem on every website i go to, at least the ones that will come up and display instead of the blank white screen i keep getting everywhere.Thank you for the details. I suggest you try the following
go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550 and download (save to disk)
the 32-bit uninstaller
the 32-bit installer for your browser
close all browser windows and run the downloaded uninstaller
restart Windows
go to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash and delete any remaining files in there
now run the downloaded installer
Can you now see Shockwave Flash under your browser add-ons, and is it enabled?
Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?

Downgrade C55-A5190 from 8.1 to 7
I am trying to downgrade a new laptop that came with Windows 8.1 to Windows 7. I can get it to boot the 7 installation, but get a message that a driver is missing. I have gone through the hardware an gotten most of the drivers from various places, most from the vendor themselves. One of the few drivers I cant find is the ACPI x64-based PC driver. If I can get the installation finished, then I can get all of the rest of the drivers with out much issue.
Here is a listing I got for hardware from a test install:

I'm probably going to return my c55-A5190. I contacte microcenter about it last night.
While writing a detailed account of my experience with Toshiba selling me a notbook with a defective processor and BIOS and their poor customer support, I discovered this link: http://support.toshiba.com/support/viewContentDetail?contentId=4005866
It appears that this BIOS update, although missing from the official C55-A5190 support page, may be able to correct the ACPI errors. However, I'm not sure if I should apply this update. -
Hi everybody, I've decided to post here in order to get some advices (maybe some of the moderators are not going to agree with me) from some of you (wonkanoby, Osnavi, Stu online, among others...) that I have the certainty that you could help me out here.
So here it's the message posted in the VGA MSI cards forum, but I didn't received any answers... And I'm so sorry for doing this but I don't see any other option, I really appreciate your advices, so here it's:
"Hi, I'm trying to use the VIVO function on a MSI Geforce FX 5600 but without any good result. I've installed the last WDM driver and also the lates Nvidia drivers, also the Info executable for Intel Chipset (inf, AGP), the motherboard can't asign an IRQ to the AGP (possible solution suggested by Nvidia itself to reponse to: "code 10 the device can't start"), I don't know if this mobo it's not compatible with this function or with this vid card. I'm pretty shure that I can't capture any video files without having the need of using any third part software (adobe premiere, capture solution, tv-christ, among others) and please advice me if I'm wrong, (I've tried MSI media Center deluxe without any success). The error code that the device manager shows is this(on nvidia WDM video Capture): Error code 10, the device can´t start.
Any ideas are welcome.

You may have a device IRQ conflict, I've had this happen before and you have to look at your IRQ's for starters and look at slot population. The Creative card may be in a shared slot further complicating the issue or perhaps even the drivers are conflicting.
I suggest you tell us what slots are populated and post your IRQ's.
Go to Start>AllPrograms>Accessories>System Information~>Hardware Resources>IRQ's (Use the Edit menu to select all and copy, then post your IRQ's like this:

USB Console (Serial) Driver fails to install on Windows 8.1 x64
The USB console cable driver v3.1 will not install on Windows 8.1 x64. Had a similar problem with Windows 7 x64 but this was fixed using Greg's (greggar25) excellent step-by-step procedure (see post: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing).
I am using the driver from this link: http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282774228&flowid=7442&softwareid=282855122&release=3.1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest
I followed the same procedures I did for Windows 7 and the install goes without a hitch. Reboot and connect the USB cable, opened Device Manager and now I have a COM Port randomly appearing and disappearing with its number incrementing well above 1,000.
A few times while it appeared for a few seconds, I was able to right click on the properties, update the driver and chose Cisco Serial and it settled down but it did not assign a COM port. Then a few seconds later, it starts the disappearing/reappearing thing again.
Anyone have luck getting this to work with Windows 8.1 x64?Hi,
open Device Manager by simply typing the words on the Windows 8.1 Start Screen. The Search Charm opens and click Device Manager in the displayed list.
In Device Manager a new hardware category, CiscoUsbConsoleWindowsDriver, is displayed. It has two components: the Cisco Bus enumerator and the Cisco USB to Serial adapter. Expanding the Ports hardware category shows a new Cisco Serial port.

Look into below
https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing
1) Install the usb console driver\windows 64\setup(x64)
2) Follow the wizard and accept the defaults
3) Restart the computer (the installer usually says it needs a restart)
4) After restarting the computer, plug in the usb cable
5) The computer should say installing Device driver software and fail at the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00
6) Click the Windows button, right click computer, manage
7) Under Computer Management, Click Device Management
8) Go to Ports (COM & LPT)
9) You should see the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 with a Yellow Exclamation point on it
10) Right Click on the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 and select Properties
11) Click the Driver Tab
12) Click Update Driver
13) Select Browse my computer for driver software
14) Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
15) Choose the Cisco Serial Driver
16) Device Driver is installed successfully, take note of the com port it is using and enjoy.

Win XP SP3 Doesn't Boot Up on New MBP When Not Attached to External Monitor
Ok, here's a weird one for you.
New MBPro 15", bought 45 days ago. I created an NTFS partition, and successfully installed Win XP, and with the updates, got it to SP3.
When my laptop is connected to my Acer external monitor, it boots up fine. It takes a while (45secs to 1 minute) to even get to the Windows loading screen (unlike my wife's 13" MB which is nearly instantaneous to load Windows), but it does eventually get to Windows.
However, if I'm not connected to the monitor, it may/may not get to the Windows screen, but it never gets past it. E.g., it never lets me get to the login screen, or to the actual windows desktop itself. My only recourse is hard booting it and going back to Mac OS.
I've erased and created a new partition and reinstalled WinXP once, to no avail.
I'm guessing it's a video driver issue given that it works when plugged in to a monitor (although when plugged in, i have no issues with display on the laptop or monitor).
I have the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT display adapter. I've also installed the suggested NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator. (I can't think of anything else that might be at issue in terms of drivers).
I was going to just go in and disable drivers, although I think that may be high risk, so I thought I'd check with y'all.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
MarkSame problem here, spent half the day figuring out what was causing this, now I find another victim. Here's what fixed it for me: Restart WinXP with your ext. monitor connected, login to admin acct, go to "Start" menu>Control Panels>Printers and Other Hardware>NVIDIA Control Panel. Expand the Display folder on the left side and select "Set up multiple displays", then select the "Use only one display" radio button and make sure your laptop display is entered in the "Select the display you would like to use." box. Approve the changes and now it should restart without the ext. monitor connected.

I have bought a PCI USB card for my Powermac 8500. The Card has a Opti 82C861 Firelink chip. This card works with my USB Mouse, Keyboard and Gamepad and I would like to use USB pendrives with my computer. I have tried with my Digitor 2gig USB pendrive but I don't think it is being detected properly. Would this be possible?
The USB card is the only PCI card I have installed in my mac in the bottom slot.
I reinstalled Mac OS 9.0.4 and upgraded it to 9.1 after I installed my USB card.
The installed drivers are whatever Mac OS 9.0.4 and 9.1 have installed and also the USB Adapter Card Support 1.4.1

OS 9.1 provides broader USB support and its included drivers can be manually installed on systems running OS 8.6 for better recognition of devices. You should find the following drivers in the Extensions folder, with #2 being essential for functionality of USB flash/hard drives:
(1) USB Support
(2) USB Mass Storage Support
(3) USB Device Extension
(4) USB Software Locator
(5) HID Library
(6) SerialShimLib
(7) ENETShimLib
How many ports are on the card? On older legacy Macs, I generally installed USB 1.1 cards having 2 ports. An external powered hub is useful, if there are many devices to connect - especially a bus-powered hard drive. I'd also recommend installing more memory. OS 9.1 could use a little more than 64 MBs of installed memory. -

first i installed sound drivers from cd. when it wasnt working, i installed msi live and i updated chipset and sound driver. nothing changed. then i decided to browse this forums an somebody said to user with same problem that he should install original sound drivers from realtek. in installed them, but i still get error msg. dunno what to do. i dont want to buy another sound card.
i have in my bios settings listed realtek [auto]. there are only options auto or disabled.

PC Suite does not recognise bluetooth
I have a Nokia 6280 purchased last September running v.05.92. I've not been able to update this successfully as when installing a more up-to-date version always seems to disconnect the phone (via cable), causing the update to fail.
I'm running pc suite 6.83.8.7 on a brand new Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop.
The phone has failed twice and has had to be sent back on both occasions to have its software reinstalled.
I've been trying to connect to my laptop with Bluetooth (V2.0+EDR). The phone and laptop (bluetooth manager) recognise each other just fine, however PC Suite keeps coming up with the message:
"Cannot use the connection type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available". I have tried reinstalling PC Suite and Bluetooth but cannot get past this message in the Get Connected menu of PC Suite.
Any suggestions please?I have the same problem withe Kensington dongle. Here're the driver details:
