IWeb '08 + 2.0.2 updated won't finish publish

I, like many iweb users, have had no luck getting the latest iWeb to publish anything for the last 7 days. We have all tried everything and it seems that the only thing that isn't working is some sort of publishing permission or server error. APPLE; "What is going on" ??? Here is a copy of my latest console log info for today. It says "data stream ended premature". "JPG corrupted."

  • Site won't finish publishing

I have multiple websites and I recently separated them into different domain files. Each domain file is in a separate folder and each is named domain. The problem I'm having now is that the sites won't finish publishing. The circle goes around and then stops, not always at the same point. I used to have this problem on occasion but now it's happening the majority of the time. The sites publish to folders without a problem. I'm using the publish all to .mac command.

Make certain that the site(s) have not actually published.
Close all other internet-dependent activities, like any browsers that may be running. Discontinue any syncing that may be going on; in fact, turn syncing off and leave it off. Launch your Activity Monitor.app, and from the file menu choose Window/Network. You will see a black box at the bottom of the window.
Now choose a Domain.sites file from your folder system, launch the Domain and File/Publish all to .Mac. Click on the Activity Monitor window, and observe the Network activity...it is quite possible that regardless of the publish error, the iWeb application is continuing to upload to .Mac. You will see it in the monitor.
If this doesn't help and the sites are truly not uploading completely, you can always publish to the folder and then manually upload the site. I don't recall ever seeing a report of a publish error using this method. Of course, you lose some .Mac functions when you publish to a folder.

  • Website won't finish publishing!

My girlfriend is trying to publish her website to Mobile Me using iWeb '08, but every time she tries, the progress indicator in the iWeb window advances to the last sliver of the "wheel," and won't go any further. It doesn't give any error message or indication that anything is wrong, but won't finish the publication. We've already tried the plist/cache clearing fix, and that does make the upload run faster, but it still freezes on that last sliver of the progress wheel. Any suggestions?

Nevermind, the site finally went up. It just took forever for that last little bit to publish; a far cry from the "few minutes" the tutorial video described.

  • 5.0.1 update won't finish ?!?!

I've been trying to update my ipod touch 4g allll day. it went through the download, but when the backup starts, the loading bar will just disappear and it wont finish. I tried everything, restarting my computer, restarting my ipod, updating itunes and then retrying the update, NOTHING WORKS. if you have any idea on how can make this thing work please let me know!!!

What exactly happens when you connect the iPod to your computer and update via iTunes? Error message?
If the iPod is not responsive then:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 3.6.7 update won't finish downloading

Using FF 3.6.6 on XP SP3. FF started downloading the update. After about an hour (dial up connection) the progress bar was completely filled and the dialog box said only a few more seconds. However, the downloading had stopped and the dialog box remained open. Finally, I just quit FF.
Now whenever FF is open, in the Help menu it says "Resume Downloading Firefox 3.6.7..." When I select this, the dialog box says "Connecting to update server..." but it never connects and the downloading never starts.
How can I find the file that was downloaded and get rid of it so I can download a new copy?
    == Operating system ==
    XP SP3

    Lou
I followed the instructions in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/627335 this thread], see the post from Costas Athan, and after closing Firefox 3.6.6 then deleting the updates folder plus the two xml files and restarting Firefox I was able to update successfully.

  • IWeb won't finishing publishing

When I have made changes to my web site in iweb, and hit publish, it goes through the cycle of uploading, but never finishes. It sops just before the counter spins all the way round.... Any changes I have made sometimes appear on the published site, but it's hit and miss..
    Anyone else have this problem.
    I'm using 1.1.2 so current...

I have tried all you suggested over the last few weeks, many times.
For no reason, all seems to be working again. No idea why it stopped in the first place, or why it suddenly decided to operate normally again.... all though my hyperlinks don't direct to the correct destinations.
I'm getting very frustrated with this now! To top it off the trackpad on my MacBook has died!!!
    Rant over!

  • IOS 7 update won't finish

I've got an iPhone 4 and after trying to install iOS 7, it's been stuck on the same download screen for close to 2 hours now, and the download bar hasn't moved from its current spot. What should I do? :(

    Hi there orangenivek,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

  • EFI Update won't complete

On a mid2011 MBP w/I7, 4 gig: I downloaded the printer, iPhoto, and latest EFI Firmware update as suggested by software update. They downloaded fine, then the MBP restarted, and the Software Update progress window opened.  It went thru the install routine for all three downloads, then the blue progress bar stopped progressing about 80 percent of the way across (the animation is still working). It says "moving itEms into place". It has been over three hours and that is all it has done.  The screensaver will come on after awhile, the black cursor moves around in response to the trackpad, but the update won't finish.  I,m afraid to power cycle for fear of bricking it.  Any ideas?

  • Windows updates won't install

    Hello,
I have a remote user whose Windows updates won't install. He has a Dell laptop with Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. You can bring up the update windows and start the install but, at exactly 10 seconds, it just says "Updates failed" and doesn't really give
    any more information.
I saw the Windows update service was stopped, I started it and that didn't seem to help. I also tried the update troubleshooter and that didn't do anything. I checked for malware and didn't find any, and he has plenty of disk space. I didn't see
anything in Even Viewer or Reliability Monitor either.
    What could it be?
    Thanks.
    Chris Hansen

    Hi Chris,
Firstly, please check if those Windows Update have already installed:
    1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type
Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
2.In the left pane, click View update history.
    3. Click Installed Updates at the top of the page, there check if any Windows Update installed recently.
If there is no any Windows Update installed, try to
reset the Windows Update component to check if it could resolve the issue.

  • Windows Updates won't install - Error 0x80072EFD

    Question
Windows Updates won’t install.  I’m receiving Error 0x80072EFD.  What can I do to solve this?
    Answer
This particular error means that your computer was not able to connect to the Internet when it tried to install updates.  First, check your Internet connection and then try again. If that doesn’t work, try the methods below.
Method A: Make sure that Windows Firewall is turned on, and temporarily disable third-party firewalls
Warning This workaround may make a computer or a network more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We do not recommend this workaround but are providing this information so that you can implement this workaround at your own discretion. Use this workaround at your own risk.
To complete this method, follow these steps.
Step 1: Make sure that Windows Firewall is turned on
To open Windows Firewall, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.
Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
Click On (recommended), and then click OK.
Step 2: Temporarily disable third-party firewalls
Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, click Review your computer's status.
Click the arrow button next to Security to expand the section.
Under Firewall, read the firewall status note. This information will indicate which, if any, firewall is installed and whether the firewall is turned on. For example, for ZoneAlarm, the notice will say ZoneAlarm Firewall is currently ON.
Open the third-party firewall application that is listed in the firewall status note, and temporarily disable the firewall. If necessary, refer to the firewall application documentation, or contact the application vendor for more information about how to temporarily disable the application.
Step 3: Try to install the updates again
If this method resolved your issue, follow the steps in Method B, step 2 to re-enable your third-party firewall. You might want to also check for and install any necessary updates to your third-party firewall.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method B.
Method B: Temporarily disable third-party antivirus software
Warning This workaround may make a computer or a network more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We do not recommend this workaround but are providing this information so that you can implement this workaround at your own discretion. Use this workaround at your own risk.
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method A, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
Step 1: Locate and temporarily disable your third-party antivirus software
Note Windows does not detect all antivirus software, and some antivirus software doesn't report its status to Windows. If your antivirus software is not displayed in Windows Security Center, and you're not sure how to find it, try any of the following:
Look for the antivirus software in the list of programs on the Start menu.
Type the name of the software or the publisher in the Search box on the Start menu.
Look for the software in Action Center:
Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, click Review your computer's status.
Click the arrow button next to Security to expand the section.
If Windows can detect your antivirus software, it will be listed under Virus protection.
If the software is turned on, check the Help documentation that was included with the software for information about how to disable it.
Note You may have to look in the application documentation to determine how to do this.
Step 2: Check for Windows Updates
As soon as the antivirus software is temporarily disabled, visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site again, and try to download and install updates.
If this method resolved your issue, and you were able to install the updates successfully, you should re-enable your third-party antivirus software.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method C.
Method C: Disable software accelerator programs
Disable any software accelerator programs that may be running. Some examples of these programs are file download accelerators and Internet speed accelerators.
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method B, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
Step 1: Disable software accelerator programs
To do this, select from the following options:
See the documentation that was included with the program.
View the Help files for your program.
Contact the program vendor. For information about how to contact the program vendor, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
    http://support.microsoft.com/gp/vendors
    Step 2: Install Updates
As soon as the software accelerator program is disabled, visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site again, and try to download and install updates.
If this method resolved your issue, you should enable the software accelerator programs that you disabled in Step 1.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method E.
Method D: Add the Windows Update Web site and the Microsoft Update Web site to the Trusted Sites list
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method A, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
To add the Windows Update Web site and the Microsoft Update Web site to the Trusted Sites list, follow these steps:
    Start Windows Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Note If you are using Internet Explorer 7, and the menu is not available, press the ALT key on your keyboard to access the Internet Explorer Menu.
Click the Security tab, and then click Trusted Sites.
Click Sites, and then click to clear the Require server verification (https for all sites in this zone check box.
In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type the following addresses, and then click Add after you type each address:
    http://update.microsoft.com
    http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
    Click OK two times.
Try to install the updates again.
If this method resolved your issue and you were able to install updates successfully, you should re-enable your third-party firewall if it is still disabled. To do this, see step 2 in Method A.
For more methods and advanced troubleshooting techniques, see You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates.

Mark, I've just been through this update issue with two installations.  In my case, it seemed intertwined with authentification and indexing not working, either.    Upon a transfer of my system disk to new hardware I got hit with the issue and couldn't fix it.  Which is why I did a clean install of Win7 ultimate 64bit on my T61p.  The install (including update) worked great until I ran the intel matrix storage manager update.  This broke windows update.  If you surf the web, and include "intel rapid storage manager" or "intel matrix storage manager" and "Windows update fails", you'll see that a lot of folks feel that the intel driver (or how windows handles it) is what breaks update.  I tracked this down to a driver, iastor.sys, in windows\system32\drivers.    I was able to fix my Window Update by copying an iastor.sys from another recently built machine (should be exactly the same, but this was my wife's T510, but still Win 7 Pro 64) to overwrite the iastor.sys that the intel update changed.  To be clear: I couldn't get windows update or indexing to work.  I overwrote* the "bad" iastor.sys with one that worked on another computer.  Rebooted.  Update worked. I just wanted to point out that instead of blindly installing updates to fix problems, folks should be aware that sometimes the update is the problem. Especially as these systems are off warranty and the drivers are not being updated.  I've asked elsewhere, so let me ask here: Where is the System Interface Driver for t61p?  Not listed anywhere on site, links on the web referring to it are all broken.  Is the System Interface Driver now part of another driver program?  Thanks! Jim T61p, Win 7 Ultimate 64bit, and T510, Win 7 Pro 64bit

  • Internet Connect crash/Software Update won't open

    I have a 500mhz G3 slot loading iMac running 10.3.9
About 2 weeks ago, after waking FrankenMac up from sleep mode, I noticed the Airport status symbol failed to appear in the menu bar (next to the volume/date&time etc).
Looking into my Network settings revealed that I was indeed still connected to the internet, via my Airport, all systems go. However, I noticed that "show airport status in menu bar" was unchecked, so I checked the box. Which apparently did jack squat b/c there's still no icon.
For the last couple weeks, as long as I've been connected to the internet, I could really give a flying flip about whether the airport status icon is there or not. I mean, seriously. I know this computer is a little old so why rock the boat on something trivial?
Until today. Today I was determined to figure out where the icon is, why it went away and if there are any other underlying problems.
I started first with Internet connect. Applications->Internet Connect, clicked on the purple IC button, only to have it launch in the dock, bounce once, then quit.
    _A crash log shows:_

I attempted to open Software Update next to see if there was something critical (ha!) I might be missing. Apple menu->software update and it was a repeat performance of Internet Connect, except this time I wouldn't even get so much as the Software Update icon in the dock. The dock would move everything to the left, as if it was going to open, then....nothing.
*Software update was working as of 6/14*, when I updated (perhaps foolishly) to Quicktime 7.5.

This ridiculously long post boils down to 2 questions, really.
    • Any ideas why Internet Connect and Software Update won't open and how to fix?
    • Where in the world is my Airport status icon? (not that it matters since I'm connected to the internet, but doggone it!)
I've run Disk Utility, repaired permissions and the HD checks out fine. I'm just at a loss (not surprising, given my limited amount of fix-it-yerself knowledge)
Should I just put up, shut up and be grateful that these problems, while aggravating, aren't majorly disrupting my life?

Okay no worries, can't find where to delete this post...

Ok will check, as of right now I have 82.57gb free, that's plenty of space will check the disk though using disk utility. Also I am now downloading the update from the apple website instead of going through software update

  • HT1557 10.9.2 update won't update on my imac 2010 at all, and now my computer won't shutdown or restart without a hard boot.  Did anyone have this same problem and figure out how to fix it?

So for the past few weeks I've been trying to update the 10.9.2 update on my imac (2010 - 21.5 inch) and when I attempt to try to update the software my screen goes grey with a Software Updater top bar the shows up on the top of the grey screen and then just quits doing anything (except the screen saver which works after nothing else happens - and that shows you how long I've been waiting for the grey screen to magically do something.  I've attempted downloading the software update then installing it but the same thing happens.  I don't think any of my 3rd party software is the cause of this and i'd rather not uninstall the programs since the update won't even do anything.  Utility is telling me nothing but the usual ARD element unable to be modified.
With the several failed attempts at installing this update (probably around 15x) my computer will not shutdown nor restart on command anymore.  The only way I can shut it down is holding the power button.
I used to have so much faith in Apple products and used to be a devoted user, but since Jobs passed away the direction of Apple has gone down the toilet.

Well Bababooey if you're comparing yourself to a Apple Genius Bar then you should already know my answer, your snarky remark get a snarky reply.  Why would I go to a salesperson to fix my computer problem when I can go directly go to the source itself.  I used to sell Apple computers over 8 years ago and was apple certified before the Genius bar existed. If I am to go about fixing an issue I can't fix on my own I will go to the source itself meaning Apple's programmers and developers - being UI UX Developer myself I know they should have QA'd all platforms and troubleshooted any arising issues.
This was also the first time in the 20 years I've been using a Mac that I even attempted to go on this forum which i thought would put me in connection with a certified Apple representative.  This turned out to be a complete waste of time just being a public forum with no Apple employee involved.  I was hoping to find a quick fix but in turn I was only frustrated with stupid responses such as yours that were in no way an answer to my original question.
BTW I fixed the issue on my own and without your help or Apples help. I'm glad if all forums point here regarding this issue because I now have the answer. The answer I was looking for from someone earlier was as simple as this {Download Maverick and reinstall the platform - it will take an hour to do but afterward 10.9.2 was installed and my computer is now able to shutdown and restart without having to do a hard boot.}  No more software update bar at top and no problems with my drive which I told both you and Grant - I know my computer better than you and I've probably been using them longer than you.
So again Babowa you were so wrong...... and I am right.
Again anyone having the same problem, I suggest reinstalling Maverick and you'll be suprised 10.9.2 will work fine.

  • New iTunes update won't open.  First it said Apple Mobil Device failed to start.  So I Stopped then Started Apple Mobil Device.  Now iTunes still won't load.  Tells me MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Wants me to reinstall app.  Will I lose all my music?

Current iTunes update won't load.  Tells me MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Wants me to reboot.  If I reboot, will I lose my music?

    Hi DDay@55,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
To resolve this error, I recommend completely removing and reinstalling iTunes and all of its related components using these steps:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
You can find the article with these steps and more information here:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
This process should not affect any music or content on your computer, but you may want to
back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive.
    Best,
    Jeremy
