IWeb '08 and non-QT video's

The current version of iWeb does a bad job of dealing with video that is not *.mov. It trys to use QuickTime to run wmv, mpg, avi, ect files. Only a few of the people viewing my site have QT installed and I don't like forcing them to install it. (Obviously they are Win Users.)
Is this better in iWeb '08?

quicktime will still be the main format - but you can add any other formats via the html snippets!

IOS 8 - mail and non-photo/video attachment

Hello, I had a really simple question regards iOS 8 (sorry if this has been answered before),
Is it yet possible to compose or reply to an email in the Mail App and insert a attachment that isn't a photo or video (e.g. word document or PDF) without leaving the mail app.
I have heard a bit about Document Picker, but not quick sure how to enable this function.

II think I found the problem. It was Apple's new Photos app and the Photos Cloud. Enabling that cloud sucked up most of my meager bandwidth as it uploaded my photo library to the cloud. When I paused the upload the problem went away! It took a week to upload my library. Unfortunately unless you avoid photos Cloud, there is no way around this issue. I don't think Apple thought this through completely before launching that app

IWeb and non-iWeb files @ same site?

I have modified my CNAME at my personal domain site to forward to MobileMe, and I am not having any problems with that aspect. What I am wondering is ... can I have both iWeb files and non-iWeb files at the same site and still use MobileMe?
Basically, I want to use iWeb for my main family web site, but still have my Wordpress blog as well as some older web pages that I don't want to convert to iWeb. Right now, anything that starts with my domain name is pointed to MobileMe, which precludes access to the non-iWeb files.
Not sure if this is clear or not, but if anyone has any pointers, I would be very grateful.

Unfortunately, I actually don't want to store them there. My Wordpress blog is hosted on my own server (it's not a wordpress.com blog), and my old files are large and I don't want to burn up all the space on MobileMe. I have a ton of space and other good hosting services as my provider (doteasy). I do, however, like the features of iWeb for my main family page, so I want to be able to publish to MobileMe, but still have the domain function as well, with some pages accessible only through the domain, not MobileMe.

Is it possible to embedd other Non YouTube videos on iWeb sites?

You know how there's a YouTube Widget that lets you easily embed YouTube videos on iWeb sites? I imagine this Widget doesn't work for none YouTube videos (e.g. MetCafe), so how do we embed those on our web site pages?

I'm using IE9, Win7 and Flash 11. None of video's on FB or in daughters school are working.

I'm, using IE9, Win 7 and Flash player 11. None of my video's on FB are working visually. I here sound only. My daughter is in an online school and none of her video's or games work properly. We keep getting either these white or pink boxes coming up in video content and its frustrating us becuase I don't know how to fix it. Retina Display and streaming non HD video

Hi -
how does non HD video content look on the MBP-R in Full Screen mode?
Is its blury like the non optimized Apps or website content?
Is it even more blurry?
Reason why I am asking:
Watching series online on a regular screen pretty often looks ok but not great. Depending on the internet speed and the movie qualitity you can see the compression in the picture and so see the pixel. How does this look on the new retina display?
Has anyone of the early owner time and motivation to check and post a screenshot?
(like streaming from hulu, youtube or iwatchnetw....)

it looks great, but once your eyes have got used to the retina-quality desktop, 1080p would just looks "so-so"

I'm using Keynote '09 for Mac and none of my imported audio or video will play sound.

The sound in Inspector is turned up all the way as well as the volume on my Mac. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

1 - test sound is enabled and working on your Mac by playing a sound file in iTunes, Finder or going to youtube and play a video
2 - if that works open a new presentation in Keynote containing one slide only, place the sound file on the slide then click the play button to play the presentation
3 - if that works, test the sound file in Keynote that was causing problems in edit mode:
double click the sound file if its on a slide
click play in Inspector > Sound track if its in the soundtrack well
4 - if that works, run Keynote in Play mode
5 - if that doesnt work, delete the sound file in Keynote then place it back again

When playing games on my iPod touch. Some are stutters and non responsive

Satellite U300 connected to TV - Non supported video format

I am using Toshiba Satellite U300-15q and it has a vga output so i bought a cable and a box that transfers te analogue signal of vga to digital of hdmi so that i can connect it to my 32' TV Sony make.
But if i connect it it says on the tv in yellow letters non supported video format.
Why is that and how can i fix it ?

In the whole story problem is that you use third part hardware or software so this described issue has nothing to do with your Toshiba notebook or Toshiba in general.
On notebooks side is important that video signal is sent on proper way. What happen later and why this signal is not transformed correctly is matter of this box.
Which box do you use?
In my opinion you should contact manufacturer of this box and their support. They should know how it works and how to fix this.
Generally speaking, Toshiba has nothing to do with this problem.

How to embed and play mp4 video in HTML AIR application?

Adobe Air HTML / JS application compiled from SDK command line. I am not using flash pro or flash builder to create the application.
I was using dreamweaver but the dw air plugin seems to have stopped being developed so I switched to using the command line tools.
I am creating desktop air application that has embedded mp3 audio and also I want to embed mp4 video.
Using jQuery and the AIR js plugin I am able to play audio via buttons hooked up via jQuery and the AIR js plugin from the SDK.
What I am doing is creating proofs for clients in AIR and sending link to the client to download the application. I embed the media because I do not want to place them on a website where it could possibly be seen by non-clients and get picked up in the SE's.
I am finding it hard to understand the AIR process for playing video. I read that it is the same procedure as audio but it does not work.
If it was hosted on youtube or somewhere embedding the web player would be simple, just copy paste some code and it works. When actually embedding the video say mp4, f4v, mov, wmv or similar file formats I can't get AIR to play the video. Audio, not a problem it works great.
I would like to do the following with video.
Embed the actual file in the AIR app. I can do this, it gets embedded.
Play, pause and stop the video - Can't get this to work
Get the current stop point and be able to start the video by sending a start point - This is all working with audio I just want to do it with video.
I have searched the forums, the search engines, youtube and read through the documentation on Air but the video does not work at all.
I need code samples and direction on how to make an embedded video play inside of a desktop air application using the HTML / JS air model. I am using the command line tools to create the air package and test the air app.
Please help if you have figured this out.

Not sure if this matters but I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit as my development machine.

In addition I also can not get html5 video to play in the adobe air app. Would this issue be tied to the above?

Watching non HD videos purchased from iMac on Apple TV

Can I use non HD videos purchased on my iMac on my Apple TV? I have had problems viewing in the past.
HD videos take forever to download and watch on Apple TV.
I would like to purchase non HD videos on iMac in iTunes and watch on Apple TV.

There appears to be a large increase in this type of problem at this time, it seems that that there is a problem at Apple's end, but I couldn't at all be sure.
There is no issues being reported at Apple’s System Status page, but this status may yet be updated and it may be you need to try again a little later.

Need flash downloader, have tried all the add ons I can find and none of the work.. .please advise?

I have downloaded most of the addons/extensions that say they will download flash. I have double checked my adobe flash plugin, downloaded any video converter, and real time player and I still can not download a flash movie from the web. It is NOT on you tube or any other video site. When I right click on the ad it says it is a flash movie.

This is the first thing I did and I already have flash but now what I want to do is download the flash movies from obscure sites to access later, put on ipod, cell, etc...these are NOT YOU TUBE VIDEOS OR VIMEO OR any of the more common which download easily. Have Photoshop, real time player and quick time player (free versions) and none of those seem able to do it either. Also downloaded several video converters but they don't help me gain access to the flash movie online. Plus many addons/extensions for firefox and those don't work either
