IWeb 08 can't see my MobileMe galleries

When I go to Insert/MobileMe Gallery, it is greyed out and states "No albums or movies available". I have 6 unrestricted MobileMe galleries on my account. Why can't iWeb see them, any ideas?
Paul

No, I tried publishing a movie today using QuickTime Pro, iWeb, couldn't see that either. I normally publish from Aperture but have since tired publishing albums from iPhoto, that didn't work either?

  • Can't see my MobileMe gallery to insert

I created one MobileMe gallery and I could insert it as a link from within iWeb using either the Insert Menu up top, or the Web Widgets icon on the bottom. But then I created another gallery from within iPhoto. I set it up so it would synch automatically, and it looks fine in MobileMe Galleries, but I don't see it listed like my other one in iWeb to insert it to my page. Any idea why I wouldn't see it listed?

Perhaps because in iPhoto you have password-protected or hidden the album. Try temporarily undoing those selections in iPhoto and see then if they show up in iWeb. If they do, add the albums in iWeb and then go back into iPhoto and re-apply your password/hidden options.

  • How can I reorder my MobileMe galleries within iPhoto?

I used to be able to re-order my MobileMe galleries within iPhoto by dragging them around in the sidebar. At least that's how I recall doing it. Now it appears I can't do that, and the latest gallery I've published to the web is now the first item in the list. How do I move it down the list?

OK, I got it figured out. Seems Apple made some changes without telling anyone. (NOOOO!!!!) First off the old iDisk address for the public folder app is no good anymore, they have revamped the app at public.me.com/your user name to look like the normal idisk.
You can no longer re-order your MobilMe synced folders in iPhoto but if you go to the Gallery folder in MobilMe you can drag them to any order you want and the next time you open iPhoto they will re-sync to the order you specified.
It would have saved me a lot of hunting around and frustration if they would just publish a change log and send it to MobilMe users, not that hard and would go far in improving their image.

  • IWeb Doesn't Find MobileMe Galleries

I've built a Web site in iWeb v3.0.1 and want to post fotos and movies to it from my MobileMe Galleries. Even though I can plainly see existing MobileMe Gallery content both online and within iPhoto, when I drag the MobileMe Gallery Widget to my page, instead of giving me selections to choose, I get the Warning Triangle and the dialog, "Upload an album to movie to MobileMe and then select it from this widget's menu."
I've fooled around with this every way I can figure without success. Who has an idea how to get my Galleries recognized in iWeb?
    Many thanx in advance!

I'm new to Iweb. Am also having trouble getting Iweb to find my Mobile Me galleries. I've tried the snippet below, but it still doesn't work. I put my Mobile Me ID where is says "mobilemeID:, right? Then backslash, then the gallery number. When I do this, all I get is a little flicker in the photo screen on the webpage. The Mobile Me gallery widgit actually worked up until a few days ago when the link went dead. Any suggestions? Am I using the snippet correctly? I saw one person said to "refresh" the Mobile Me galleries. How do I do that? I know the galleries are there because I can share them via email.
    thanks!

  • IWeb not finding my MobileMe Galleries

I've just found the MobileMe Gallery widget and wanted to play around with it to see what exactly it does and what it looks like. I've made a new blank page to try it out and dragged the widget onto the page, but the little floating box says "(No albums or movies)" in the Display option, and the the box on the page says, "Upload an album or movie to MobileMe and then select it from this widget's menu."
I clicked the "Learn more" link on the floating box and read the help page. It didn't help. It just said that if there's nothing in that Display menu, that I'm either not connected to the internet or I haven't published any albums or movies. Both are wrong, though. I'm connected to the internet; I'm posting this, and have been browsing other sites as well, including my own MobileMe Gallery page...which brings me to my next point, which is that the other condition is also wrong: I do have albums published to MobileMe. Many galleries. And they're all there, they all work, iPhoto is in sync with them, etc. And it's the same MobileMe account, no doubt about that.
So why doesn't the widget in iWeb seem to know about my MobileMe galleries? Or is there some important fact or concept I'm completely overlooking?

That has been an ongoing problem here. First try the following:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
Next, create a new test gallery in iPhoto and publish. Then launch iWeb and try again. Some have said that the new gallery worked to jumpstart iWeb.

  • MobileMe Galleries

I have a question regarding the use of MobileMe galleries. I recently went on a trip and took many photos. I uploaded them to my MobileMe gallery (first time ever). I came home and "merged" the two libraries together (laptop into the desktop). I see the MobileMe Galleries, however, the original files are no longer in the project. It is as if the MobileMe Gallery has taken the original out of the project and has used that in the gallery. Is this because of the way I merged them, or does MobileMe do this?
I realized that I made a few adjustments to these photos on my MBPro, however on my iMac, I can see that the colors aren't 100% what I wanted. Because of this, I want to make a few edits to the originals, and it won't let me, because they are loaded into the MobileMe gallery.
    Any thoughts?

Yeah, I think it had to do with the merge. I went to the laptop and exported each project as its own library, then imported each library separately. It asked to merge or add the library, and this time I chose add. It loaded everyone. Everything is where it should be now.
I guess merge means something a little different in Aperture than everywhere else in Apple terms? When I merge my contact info in address book, it puts the two together. I figured when I merged the 2 separate Aperture libraries, it would eliminate the duplicates and add the new ones in. I guess since I uploaded the MobileMe Gallery on the road from the laptop, when the desktop synced with the MobileMe gallery it didn't load the files that were already in the gallery? I really don't know. But it is solved now.
    Thanks for the rapid response.

  • MobileMe Galleries orphaned when importing Iphoto library into Aperture 3

Can anyone advise how I can get my existing MobileMe galleries to be listed into A3. They were uploaded via Iphoto and I imported that library into A3 but the MM galleries are not there. Obviously I have filled in the appropriate boxes etc in preferences.

    1) Log in to MobileMe via the web at www.me.com.
    2) Click on the PHOTOS icon along the top toolbar.
    3) Click the "Gear" button and select the option for "New Album".
    4) Give the album title a dummy name like "Aperture Link Dummy" and under the "Syncs with:" selection, choose "Aperture".
    5) Once this new album is created, you can now click on each individual MobileMe gallery that you wish to sync with Aperture and the "Lightswitch" button for "Album Settings" will now have the option to "Sync with: Aperture" as well.
    6) After making the necessary Album Settings changes for those that you wish to sync with MobileMe, return to your Aperture program and go to PREFERENCES --> WEB.
    7) Under the option "Check for new published photos:", select one of the options OTHER than "Automatically" and the "Check Now" button next to it should become clickable.
    8) Click "Check Now" and you should immediately see Aperture add a "MOBILEME GALLERY" heading under the Library pane and will begin to import your MobileMe galleries.
This is about as far I've gotten with getting my existing MobileMe galleries into Aperture. Unfortunately, now the problem is that they are no longer linked to their respective albums/events. When in iPhoto, if I made edits to the album/events, the MobileMe gallery would automatically be updated with those changes. I assume this behavior is the same for new galleries created from within Aperture, but it does not seem to affect those galleries that were imported from iPhoto. Let me know if you get anywhere with this issue.

  • Sync MobileMe Galleries to iPhone/iPod

iTunes (8.1.1) continues to give options for syncing All Photos, All/Some Events or All/Some Albums.
BUT does anyone know how you can sync All/Some MobileMe galleries from iPhoto '09 onto the iPhone/iPod via iTunes?
I realise that the iPhone can access the MobileMe galleries over the web, but there are times when it would just be a lot quicker and easier having the photos on the device itself. And, of course, the web is not an option for my iPod! The reason I want this is that the MobileMe galleries tend to be my polished presentations - all the non-essential photos have been removed, and often they contain photos from multiple events/albums.
    Cheers!
    C.

    Hi LN,
Thanks for the quick response. This certainly is an option, and so far, the only option that I have found. It does, though, have a few drawbacks:
Creating an album for each MobileMe gallery would need to be performed each time a new MobileMe gallery is created. I create my MobileMe galleries on a different machine to the one on which I sync my iPhone/iPod, so it would then require management of MobileMe galleries on one Mac and management of a corresponding album on another Mac! Much easier if I could sync straight from the MobileMe galleries that are automatically sync'ed between my Macs.
Also, since many of my MobileMe galleries are put together firstly as albums, I would end up with several duplicate or nearly duplicate albums - would need careful management of the albums, again because of the differing machines.
Creating one single album for all my MobileMe galleries would mean that all the photos are lumped together under one category on the iPhone/iPod. This would make navigating to the appropriate photos much harder.
But perhaps most importantly, when photos are uploaded to an existing MobileMe gallery (either by myself or by others), these uploaded photos would not automatically be added to the corresponding album. I would, therefore, need to manage the albums manually, making sure I manually add in any new photos. I had thought that a Smart Album could sort this issue out, but it appears that Smart Albums cannot be created using a MobileMe gallery as their source...go figure!
Anyway, thanks very much for the input.

  • IWeb 09 issue with displaying MobileMe Galleries in Weblog

    Hello everyone,
I searched but did not see this exact issue. I upgraded to iLife 09 this week and my site from iWeb 08 opened successfully in iWeb 09 (although everything was Red). After adding 3 new blog entries, I decided to publish today. At first, the publish entire site errored out with the progress circle half way. I simply tried again and it finally completed the publish entire site.
I checked my website on-line on a Mac using Safari, and on Windows using I.E. and Safari, and have the same problem on all three.
All of my weblog entries that contain a MobileMe Gallery (both photos and videos) are fine in iWeb just as they were before the upgrade. However, when I view the weblog on line, the Web Galleries do not show up on any of the blog entries. There is just a blank space where they used to be.
I also checked my actual Web Gallery on both Mac and Windows and can view content on both. I repaired permissions before my publish and I have noticed one item since I upgraded to 10.5.6 this week (also). I get a permission error related to "Library/PrivateFrameworks/iLifeMediaBrowser.Framework" that does not appear to get repaired because it shows up every time I repair permissions. I also get another unrepaired permission related to "CoreServices/RawCamera.bundle" but I don't think that is related to this issue.
I have always received excellent help on this forum when encountering an issue and am hoping there is one for this issue. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Having read many of the comments here on this forum, I feel fortunate that my issues were not worse. Here is the URL of a weblog entry that should have 4 MobileMe Galleries at the bottom:
    http://web.me.com/sabretado/sabretado/Weblog/Entries/2009/2/19Monterey_Bay_Aquarium_and_Fisherman’sWharf.html
    Thanks in advance,
    Santiago

    http://web.me.com/sabretado/sabretado/Weblog/Entries/2009/2/19Monterey_Bay_Aquarium_and_Fisherman’sWharf.html
Your URL contains apostrophe character, iweb javascript code had been changed in web09.
It converts special character in your URL path to UTF escape codes and lost in translation when try to use it.
You galleries are there in the widget mark files, but iweb javascript can not read its own (LOL!) widget markup URL:
    http://web.me.com/sabretado/sabretado/Weblog/Entries/2009/2/../../../../Weblog/E ntries/2009/2/19Monterey_Bay_Aquarium_and_Fisherman%E2%80%99s_Wharf_files/widget2markup.html
notice the %E2%80%99, that's UTF character.
Try to remove the apostrophe character from your page name and give them feedback: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html

  • IWeb and .Mac (MobileMe) Galleries

Went to add some iWeb pages with links to a few of my .Mac (or now MobileMe) Galleries. However, when I go to the "Insert" menu and select .Mac Web Gallery I'm informed that "No albums or movies are available." Now I know for certain I have 5 Web Galleries (you can even see them at gallery.me.com/noraa). Is iWeb not seeing these galleries because of the transition to MobileMe. Is anyone else having a similar problem. Thanks for all you're help!
P.S. I am properly logged into MobileMe in the System Preferences and can access my iDisk via the Finder, sync items, access my email, etc.

Sorry - did not help. The only effect was, that my website was lost and a new blank website came up.
But it is more clear that it seems to be a bug in iWeb:
Only web-albums appear in iWeb that are created and fed by iPhoto.
But mine are fed by Aperture!
There were two albums left which were connected to iPhoto. I went to mobileMe web interface and got "info" for the two albums which were still connected to iPhoto and changed this to Aperture.
The result is: no album is left to show up in iWeb as a "MobileMe web gallery" to be inserted as a widget.

  • HT201317 I have a MobileMe account and have shared many MobileMe Galleries.  MobileMe Galleries are going away in June.  How can I share a photo album with others using iCloud?

I have a MobileMe account and have shared many MobileMe Galleries.  MobileMe Galleries are going away in June.  How can I share a photo album with others using iCloud?

The new ios version of iPhoto allows sharing.  Here's a blurb from Apple's web site:
There’s the old way of creating photo galleries, then there’s the iPhoto way. Select a group of photos and iPhoto automatically flows them into a beautiful journal that’s fun to personalize and share online. Touch a photo to make it bigger or smaller. Or drag it to a different spot on the screen. iPhoto adjusts the page around whatever you’re doing, so your journal always looks great. You can even add captions, maps, dates, and weather — giving family and friends the big picture at a glance.
    More things you can do:
With iPhoto, there’s more than one way to share a photo. Post pictures directly to Facebook, Flickr, or Twitter. Play an impromptu slideshow on your iPad or iPhone. Or stream photos to your HDTV to give your big moments room to shine.
I have not used ios version of iPhoto to share "journals" and I'm not sure this is part of iCloud or not.  You'll have to do a google search on "ios iphoto" and read up of this journal thing.  As far as I know, this is the only way of sharing photos.  I'm not sure whether other friends use a browser to view these journals or whether they need something special.  Any way - search around to find answers.

  • I am running OS X 10.5.8 and don't see an iCloud icon in my system preferences.  I do see a Mobileme icon but I would like to have all my mac devices on iCloud.  How can I get iCloud on my desktop?

I am running OS X 10.5.8 and don't see an iCloud icon in my system preferences.  I do see a Mobileme icon but I would like to have all my mac devices on iCloud.  How can I get iCloud on my desktop?

iCloud requires 10.7.2 or later. See the following about how to upgrade:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try this:
1 - go to your your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and move the Domain.sites2 file to the Desktop.
2 - launch iWeb and, when asked, create a new site and save.
3 - go back to that iWeb folder, delete the new domain file there and move your original file from the Desktop back into the folder.
4 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
5 - reboot and try iWeb again.

  • Can't see iPhoto library in iWeb

Just created iWeb page for the first time. When I go to Media, it prompts me to open iPhoto, but it's already open, and I can't see any photos to add.
I have open / closed programs, restarted machine. Same problem.
    Suggestions appreciated

I myself have been confused as to why I could not see my photos when I clicked on the photo menu. I have been using iWeb for about 6 months now and created this web site, www.hopewellhose.com. Well, I read your answer Mark and I say to myself that it can't be that easy right? A little dot on the bottom of the section, drag up and your photos will be there? Boy, do I feel like a putz! It was that easy. This is why this discussion section is so great and the people who answer our questions are fantastic. I'm sure I will have more questions in the future. In the meantime, have a great holiday to you and everyone who are Macaholics!

  • Some people can't see my iWeb site

Quite a few people complain of not being able to see bits of my iWeb site, most typically these are users from the public sector, and they either can't see photos or albums, or, worse still, can't see any of the links iWeb puts automatically at the top of the page, so they only see the one page. Is there anything I can do make sure everyone can see it?

Many thanks. I'm downloading now and will give it a go. When I was looking for an update from within iWeb it just tries to sell you iLife '09!
