IWeb 08 has big problems.

I had been working on two sites for several weeks. I woke up this morning and started iWeb 08 to finish my work, and the sites I had created were gone!
They no longer showed up in my iWeb application window. I'm ******!
Is there anyway to bring a published site back into the iweb creation application?

Slow down! First there is no way to bring back a site that has been published in iweb. No import function.
So we need to see if you can get it back from the domain file.
Go to Finder Window Sidebar/Macintosh HD/Users/Your Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb.
Whatever you do, do not delete that file!
Have you tried doubleclicking on that file?
If that does not work quit the application, go to Home Folder/Library/Preferences and delete the file com.apple.iWeb.plist and relaunch.
If it still does not work, delete the .plist again, restart your Mac and run Disk Utility to repair permissions.
If this does not work post again and maybe someone else will know more. Your file could be corrupted but try everything first.

  • Apple TV 2 has big problems homesharing - fixes?  firmware update needed!

    After 5 days of having ATV2, (which is lovely when its working) I'm still having problems narrowed down to Homeshare access from ATV2 to my macbook running the latest itunes.
    I've just moved house and got a new broadband router and provider the same day as the ATV2, so it has taken a while to make sure it was not the router (BT home Hub 2), the connection, or my macbook itself.
    Macbook - (Running Snow Leopard) Internet working fine with router and broadband, (have removed all network settings, removed passwords in keychain and repaired permissions, restarted and re-entered network info - just incase).
    Router - works fine all day, with macbook and dell laptop, Have tried restarting a lot just incase
    Apple TV 2 - works fine with broadband and router, and I can browse the online selection of videos, youtube etc fine.
    Homeshare - When I connect ATV2 using homeshare to my macbooks itunes account, it works for a maximum of 2 minutes then loses connection. And my macbook which still shows full wifi signal can no longer get the internet, and forgets the wifi password and says its wrong when I re-enter it. Only fix is to restart router and delete network settings on macbook and re-enter them.
    So is this homeshare technology screwing up, Apple TV 2 screwing up, or my router jumping in after a couple of minutes and saying NO!.
    Is anyone else experiencing exactly the same as me?
    Its a shame that the only thing I've found left to try (after searching alot of forums) is when turning on 'Homeshare in Itunes' don't press the 'DONE' button. Will give that a try tonight.

    Ok, got home and finally after cooking, bathing and putting our 9 month old daughter to bed I got to play around with the Apple TV 2 problem.
    I'm pleased to say the 'not' pressing the 'DONE' button seems to be working, it is keeping the Homeshare connection live, and has done for the past 2 hours. Far better than my previous 2 minute record.
    The connection was however very very very very very slow (like 30 seconds to load one video thumbnail), and made the internet very slow on my laptop and on the apple tv. But after now changing my BT home Hub wireless channel to 7, it seems to be working a lot better. If it drops again I will try the other available channels. Worth noting that as soon as homeshare is going the apple tv must start emitting another frequency that was screwing with my router. I've also left my laptop with a static IP, (again may change back if needs be).
    This is by no means the end of the problem as having to open itunes and not press 'DONE' doesn't seem very cool and I'm sure Steve Jobs will be quite annoyed that his lovely new Apple tv is a little bit crap.
    We shall see if it is still working tomorrow morning, I'll leave it all on and see if it stays connected all night.
    Unfortunately my wife is now watching normal crappy TV and will have to wait for her to go to bed to test the connection a bit more thoroughly....Avater in 720P over homeshare is waiting!!! and has been for 5 days!!!

  • Help! My Iphone has big problem.

    Firmware of my Iphone may be damaged a few days ago.
    It can boot in only recovery mode showing 'Please Connedct to Itunes' and not in normal mode.
    If I try to restor with Itunes, finally I had error showing "The Iphone could not be restored. There is not enough memory available".
    What can I do?
    I have no work for my IPhone.

    It would be pretty clear that bringing your phone to an apple store, or calling apple would be the only way to get your problem solved.
    They will be able to diagnose and fix your problem.

    I was planning to Buy Nokia Lumia 1020, as I am a Fan of Nokia at present I have Nokia C7, I got a few friends phones Lumia 720, it does not connect to XP via Bluetooth, which means I cannot send SMS even using MS SMS sender, as Lumia is not Compatible with Nokia Suite, which is a shame, they could have easily made this software like Nokia Suite for Lumia.     Windows security is broken up into two parts. Local permissions, and net permissions. You must set both in order to allow access. Simply setting up the share doesn't grant the user access to it.
    You must define the share on the Share tab, and then go to the 'Security' tab and add whatever account the user will be using to access the folder and its associated files.
    Make sure that the files in whatever folder your sharing pick up the inheritence of the parent folder permissions by checking the security on a few files in the folder and verify that the parent folder permissions match the file permissions. I've had instances where inheritence doesn't apply properly and the files in the folder don't have the permissions you set on the parent folder.

    I have been a loyal customer for years and have a hot spot because internet options are very limited in our rural area.  I have stayed with 10G since the beginning.  Most months I don't use the 10G.  Verizon has no problem with me paying for Data I don't use.  This month my daughter comes home from College and she accidentally uses 24G.....14 over get blind sided with $140.00 in overages.  I called Verizon today......stopped in to the store today......My neighbor told me they waved charges for her one time.  Lots of charges.....But I'm am getting no help.  Not even an offer of a payment plan to help me out.  I went back just 6 months and I have over paid for 19G.....Seems like they would like to help out their loyal customers!!!!     Does anybody have any suggestions on how to deal with them?   We are not wealthy....or I would just pay this and walk away......

    There is a big misconception in what customers believe a cell carrier is obligated to do.
    You pay a set price to use up to that amount of xx data. It makes no difference if you use it to the paid limit or way under. Its like peace of mind when you don't have to worry about a data counter.
    Your daughter used the data, your plan is quite clear of what overage charges are. Why should or would Verizon wireless just forgive the charges because you are a customer? Your daughter used the data, get the money from her. That is the responsible thing to do.
    There is no "I have been a loyal customer so please remove the $120, or $250, or $2,000.00 since I did not mean to use it"
    Your electric company, or gas company or any other company does not remove valid charges. Why should Verizon wireless?
    Just pay the invoice and don't think you are being mistreated because Verizon is a business and not a charity.

    Owning 2 iphones with one Apple account has = Sync Problems.  iTunes is thinking my old iphone 4 is the same phone as my iphone 5C.  When I plugged in my iphone 5C it auto synced my 5C to iTunes and it wiped my 5C and restored it to the same content as is on my iPhone 4.  This is a big problem since my 5 year old has been using the iPhone 4.  It's all Mickey Mouse and Backyardigans.  (Total photo/app/contacts loss)
    I was able to update the 5C and restore from a 3 month old backup that is actually the content from the 5C but now when I plug in my 5C it wants to "setup as new phone" or "restore from backup"  What's going on?  I'm afraid to choose either option.
    How can I get iTunes to see these devices as 2 and not one?
    Can I use my Apple ID on both phones still or is this the problem?

    They were both displaying the same name in iTunes.  I changed the name of the iPhone 4 before the 5C was plugged in but it still went ahead with syncing it to the 4's data.

  • How to load an image without a gui? big problems...

    Hey guys, I usually try my best to not ask for help and figure stuff out myself. But this last week i've been having big problems with this work project.
    My goal is to load images from disk, and append them to each other to create one big image.
    The images are 0-9.jpg each file containing a number in it. then i create one big file with 4 numbers in it. called final.jpg.
    so far i can do all this, but whenever the program is finished, the application just keeps running. the program has literally gone through all the steps... i have a system.out.println printed on the last line after the main, after the class instantiation... and still it stays running.
    how do you guys load images without a gui? This program will probably be running under unix, so i can't create a (for component example)
    Panel() and media track the file load... so i'm pretty much stumped
    any help you guys can provide would be really incredibly helpfull at this point. I have searched these threads for a few hours without luck. I found only 1 real post related to my problem, but eventually they said use MediaTracker = new Mediatracker( new Panel() ); which i can't use. :(

  • One Apple ID two phones big problem.

    Hi guys,
    Before 6 months I bought new Iphone 4s,but it was used one day from person who sell it to me, so it already has Apple id.
    I deleted user and created my user which was synced with iCloud and worked without any problem.
    Before 10 I bought Iphone 5, also created my Apple ID on it and sync with my PC/ iCloud.
    Yesterday I want to sell my first Iphone 4 and I did reset ( Erase all content and setting), but it did not want to wake up, so i started it with DFU mode using I tunes, and I did restore and update.
    Now I am facing to bit problem, on the begging steps it says something like "this apple id cannot be used to unlock this iphone".
    If I go to iCloud I can see only one device and currently its new iPhone 5, but both devices called with same name, so I am not sure is this problem.
    So I have two doubts:
    - I am not sure does SIM card can make this problem(on initiation phase you have to put sim in Iphone), because main is much smaller now so I using my wife SIM to finis registration Iphone 4 (iPhone 5 using smaller than iPhone4)?
    - another thing It says you have to "use original apple id..", like I sad on the beginning when i bought Iphone4 it already has apple id on it, which I was deleted and configure main (afterwards this device was visible on my iCloud). So do I need to put first creaded apple id, does iPhone remembering first created or last used. If yes I have big problem because I dont have contact of user who sell it to me.
    I want to add one thing, Iphone is not stolen I have warranty documentations and all profs that is not stolen.
    PLEASE HELP, in my country we have awful support !

    Just left the Apple store with an official answer.  You can have two phones one Apple ID, turn off auto updates so you don't automatically get apps on both phones. Then you need two different iCloud accounts.

    IMac 27 10.8.4 (12E55) - bought in 2010
    3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB 1067 Mhz RAM
    Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
    The IMac computer screen goes black randomly but the machine still running beyond.
    In order to go back to normal i need to awake the computer by hitting with the pointer a hot corner previously created " sleep mode" ( top left ).
    ..the black screen would come back after one second again..and then again and then again and then again..with different intervals..sometime 2 seconds after the other, sometime as soon as appears the user login screen.
    I took the machine to an Apple Store two times over one year, they opened, cleaned it but they didn't replace anything has they could not understand what they real problem was. I was happy for that because they didn't try to make me spend money on something which was not going to solve my issue for sure.
    Last time i kindly asked them to inspect everything meticulously, part by part, i left the machine with them for over 2 months. They couldn't understand why this was happening..after couple of weeks, 5 more machines came in with the same problem.
    On some of them., upon request of the client they changed the graphic card but apparently this was not the fix, the problem come back again. Apparently changing the graphic card or the screen or else it didn't solve any problem to anyone. I'm almost thinking to "trough it out of the window"..we all spend money for this machines and i think we need to know if Apple is looking in to this or not.
    Lately i tried to do an SMS RESET and PRAM RESET, it feels it got better a little but problem still coming back.
    Also, all usb  devices are disconnected and the problem still there

    I'm now thinking to try to take the machine to its original firmware and see if it still does it, does anyone have any sugestion?
    I use a lot photoshop and other image software, this computer is essential for my work. For more then one year this issue caused me problems.
    Luckly i have a Macbook Pro too and i managed to do some of my work there. At last I was thinking to buy an external screen and attach it to the Macbook pro in order to work on my big images. But who wants to spend money again!!!???? This is not a fixture, this is silly. I wish to have my IMAc working again.
    The warranty it's obviously over and this problem happened right after the warranty was over...
    I write this post because i'm so tired of this issue and online nothing can be found apart from posts from so many people that have the same problem and no fixture has been found.
    The only fixture seams to be to buy a new computer... Ole'!!!..new money flowing in in the cashier!! forget it!!! i would rather change company if apple doesn't respond to this.
    For over 10 years i have been a Apple owner..
    When this problem appears it's like someone it's playing a joke at you...

    Hi, I've seem to have found out the source of the problem.
    The issue is related to heat, and an iMac 27" gets hot pretty fast.
    If I boot the iMac straight after first start into Windows 7 I seem to get a lit built-in display at all times. I can also boot OS X first and then into Windows 7 and the built-in screen get lit every time as long as the iMac isn't hot.
    Strange thing is that the monitor connected to the display port gets lit every time. So I can only assume that the heat only interfere with output to the built-in LED screen.
    So this iMac is going to an Apple premium reseller for service, and I'll tell you guys how it went.

  • Disk repair and Apple Hardware Test says HD has no problem but grey screen still persists on MBP

    5 days ago while on vacation, my MBP just froze with the grey screen, apple logo and spinning gear.
    I performed all that was instructed on the following discussions:

    except  Archive and Install installation of MAC OS X and Erase and Install  MAC OS X since I was able to save my files in  my husband's MBP via Firewire Target Disk Mode. At this point, I am still apprehensive in erasing my files and installing again the MAC OS X.
    When I did the Disk Repair under the Disk utilities, it says that my Mac Os X is ok.  (It also said ok when I did the fsck -fy when I till did not have my CD when I was on vacation)
    I also tried the Apple Hardware Test (AHT)   to further l test the hardware of my MBP and performed an extended checking and after an hour, its says that my HD has no problem.
    Yet, after all these, when I restart my computer, it still has the grey screen with apple logo and spinning wheel! 
    Can anyone tell me what else can I do??? Appreciate any help!

    I like the free demo of SuperDuper to make clones. It's free,  Leopard and Snow ready and is easy to use. If you buy the full version you can do incremental backups.
    You should use Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, booted up on your install disk, before you make a clone of it. I use DiskWarrior for that instead.
    I then partition my external disk, in Disk Utility, with a partition that is the same size , actually a tad bigger, as my system disk. I then use SuperDuper to clone my system disk over to that partition.
    With a clone on an external FireWire drive (USB drives are not bootable on PPC Macs but are on some Intel Macs) you can bootup on it to do your repairs, on the main drive, or just run your Mac anytime you have trouble with your main drive.
    That's why I like clones better then Time Machine. You can just bootup on them and use your Mac.
    On the DiskWarrior thing, I use DW once a month to try and catch errors in my system from getting too far out of hand. It has repaired every little and big issue I have ever had with my  three Macs.
    And I have had times when Disk Utility's Disk Repair says everything's fine but my system was still having issues. Disk Utility, in my experience, cannot be totally relied on to find and report all issues. It just isn't robust enough.
    I run DiskWarrior, it does find errors, repairs them and I'm back in business. I swear by it!

    at least that the operator has confirmed to me that he called me. I also have problems with either the start of the mac with the power off. I can not understand if it crashes or is just very very slow.
    Finally, I have a problem with the external hard disck. I often said to have been ejected incorrectly (not true) and I start to restore the startup recovery disk because disk utility is ineffective from the normal operating system .. is a shocking thing, but how you reduced. in four years it had never happened. seem to have windows or worse. Wake up.

    You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
    Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
    If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).

    Hi, I think this is more a NEED-TO-FIX than anything else... but whenever Im using my mac, on safari, or chrome, or even just on the desktop, I experience trouble clicking. I click for example in safari, to minimize the tab, or to close a tab. It doesn't register, it sometimes doesn't even highlight the X when I'm hovering over the X at the tab. Also another problem... My mac has been having big problems with moving files around my desktop, and deleting folders and documents off my desktop into the trash bin. Ever since the newest update, my mac can't delete things off the desktop, except after about 20 tries... Well. thats about it! Thanks everyone very much, if you have any ideas on what to do... please tell!

    A Network-capable Printer using Wi-Fi to communicate needs to be told what Wi-Fi Network-name to join, and what is the password. The only way to do this is by using the control panel on the Printer itself.
    Once told, it can join your local Network, and once it does, it will show up in the list under Add-a-printer.

  • Big Problems with Vista and Audigy

    My name is Jana and I'm from Germany. This board is my last hope now.
    I have big problems to use my audigy 2zs in Vista Business (32 bit).
    I use the latest driver from 9.3.07.
    The installation process works fine and I get no errors. But I can't start the AudioConSole . I always get an error, that no audio device was found (error message is german)?!? The device manager shows no problems and the audigy 2zs is correctly listed.
    I need this AudioConSole to activate the 5. speaker settings. In the sound preferences in Vista is that not possible.
    My speakers also need the creative software from cd to activate the bass, but I when I install this software and then restart, only a few programs are installed (but they don't work). I need especially the speaker settings but there is unfortunately no way to install this software.
    I did this procedure at least 5, 6 or 7 times, but it always don't works.
    So please can you help me?

    Hmm... Try to redownload the drivers from the website, because Creative has updated them to include a proper signature. It is possible that the drivers do not load if they are not signed, which would explain why the AudioConsole does not launch. Also, Windows Vista does the Bass redirection by itself:? If you select 5. speakers from the standard Control Panel, you will be asked whether you have satellites or full-range speakers. Selecting satellites means that the lower frequencies need to be played by the Subwoofer instead. If that still doesn't work, you can do the following:? Extract the downloaded drivers using WinRAR (or similar) (right-click and then extract). Then go to the Subfolder "Drivers\wdm\common\i386"? and run "CtPanel.exe". From there going to the speakers tab there is a "BASS-M" option...

    Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
