IWeb 09 site crashes when browses via Safari
Hi
I recently found that when I visit my own iWeb made site via Safari, like a good boy, all Apple Safari suddenly quits on nearly every visit.
Any help or advice as to why this is happening, I heard of IE crashing on iWeb made sites, but Safari
should browse seemlessly, one would have thought
Kind regards

Aaaaah..... Now I remember. I thought you would have learned sense by now and switched to rangerstalk.net !
Your site loads fine, and fast, in Safari for me. I'm using V 5.0.2. This version of Safari has a number of issues and I hope there's a fix on the way. I find myself using Chrome more and more and can't wait until it comes out of beta.
Is it just your own site that crashes Safari or has it happened with others?

The file sshnas21.dll mentioned in the crash report is a component of malware or spyware, you should immediately remove it using an antivirus and antispyware program.
Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
[Solved] arch crashing when browsing files
Seem to be having a strange problem of crashing when browsing files via the built in file manger of mate desktop. I say strange because it works ok if browsing via an app like pluma
Some times it freezes before hand. It takes some seconds to happen but if I mount my extra drive it crashes all most right away.
Just to say I got one other system up and running fine with the only difference being ram and drive sizes.
Do anyone know what it could be?
Last edited by taylord1984 (2013-05-27 15:36:26)Sorry about late reply. Forgot all about posting this.
It would seem it was a mobo fault. There was one other difference between the systems and that was the one that kept crashing had an ati card. I removed that card to boot from the igpu system wouldn't boot at all. Thought it got to be cpu or ram so did some swapping about to find it was in fact a fault mobo. I still think it's an odd one but I'm no expert lol
Thanks opt1mus for your time in responding. -
Just bought brand new new iMac. When browsing in Safari, sometimes the text suddenly gets super large. I'm doing nothing except reading the screen, tho I usually have my hand resting lightly on the mouse. I can get back to normal size by clicking "actual size" in View. But then it does it again a minute or two later. What gives? Something seems defective--but what?
From System Preferences, Mouse, Point & Click, Secondary click. Go to it hover over Secondary click and watch the short video sequence change it left right, left right, you will see exactly what is does. No I do not think your Mouse is defective, you simply need to take control of your Mouse finger.

I would back up your Mac, erase and reinstall. Then Migrate your user data from the backup.
Uninstalling Tuxera is a troubleshooting process. You don't have to keep it uinstalled, just long enough to test to see if it is causing the problems.
However, if it doesn't happen regularly, it would be hard to determine if it was the cause. And, as I mentioned, I don't think it would be the cause. -
IMovie crashes when browsing Titles, and when exporting movie.
Frequent occurance. Crashes when browsing Titles. When re-opening it goes to a previous project.
2nd problem, also frequent but always with one project. I have tried numerous things, all unsuccessful. Have gone back to iPhoto to redo slideshow, have checked photo permissions, then rebuild movie but still unsuccessful. Message: "EXC BAD ACCESS (SIGSEGV)".Sometimes iMovie Projects become corrupted and can cause iMovie to crash. This is what worked for me after months of frustration without any solution.
Copy the iMovie Projects folder to the desktop. To avoid confusion rename this folder Desktop iMovie Projects. Do not delete these projects from the Desktop iMovie Projects folder.
Then delete all projects from the original iMovie Projects folder for iMovie - found Mac HD > Users > (Your home folder) > Movies > iMovie Projects.
Either create a simple test movie project in iMovie or...
or take, from Desktop iMovie Projects folder, one of the projects that you know was successfully exported in the past and copy from the Desktop iMovie Projectsfolder into the original iMovie Projects folder.
Try launching iMovie again.
In turn take, from Desktop iMovie Projects folder, another of the projects and copy from the Desktop iMovie Projects folder into the original iMovie Projects folder.
Close and restart iMovie. Try to export this project
In transferring one project at a time you can isolate the corrupted project(s)

Site "crashes" when attempting to return to inbox after full scan and numerous crash reports.
Problem just began on 1/25/13. Can view any site on hotmail window or web browser. When finished with site and attempt to return to Firefox site by either X in viewed site or back arrow site crashes and comes up with a crash report site.
I have been sending reports and then attempting to reconnect using reconnect. No solution.
I now cancel reconnect to return to Firefox Mozilla and then hit Hotmail in Most viewed.
Very clumsy.
Please advise simple and easy to UNDERSTAND for non teckie.
thanksI was able to enter "about crashes" it referred me back to your directions about an "address bar".
You have to be very simple with me. I have entered the requested information on every place I could on your web browser with no joy.
Where exactly on you site do I enter "about crashes"?
The "address bar" is not noted on my computer or in any help source that I have attempted to find. Please bear with me, I am just a user and not a skilled one at that. I enter sites wherever I can get results.
As an afterthought, your web browser only shows 3 or 4 places to enter requests:
1. standard web addresses
2. search requests
3. Foxfire requests (in center of page).
Again I have tried all 3 with no joy and a lot of frustration. My research shows that the requested information would be very helpful but does not tell me how to access (for "dummies")
thanks again -
Music pauses when browsing with Safari
When I am playing music on ipad via airport express and browsing with Safari at the same time the music pauses when opening new pages. Does anyone know how to fix this unwanted intereference?
Hi Kappy
I know how to turn off the pop-ups, thanks.
My concern is that the message comes up when I start Safari before a webpage even opens.
So it is not coming up as a result of a webpage, rather it is coming up when starting Safari. And that worries me - it may be residing elsewhere in the ios.
this possible? -
Imac Keeps Crashing When Browsing the net (often when scrolling)
Hello,
I bought a refurished imac from Dixons about a fortnight ago. I was provided with no discs so I can't do a hardware test.
In the last few days my imac has started crashing. It has always crashed when I'm browsing the internet and usually happens when I'm scrolling. At first i thought it was Google Chrome so I switched to Safari but the same has continued to happen. The screen usually goes grey and I a message telling me to power off my imac and restart.
I keep getting a similar log to this:

What could be causing these crashes?
Thanks for your help.com.avast.PacketForwarder 1.3
com.avast.AvastFileShield 1.0.1
As a first step I'd suspect Avast - try fully uninstalling it, you don't need it.
You could try a 'safe boot' which should boot the Mac without loading the non-Apple stuff. Test web-browsing to see if the kernel panics go away.
To Safe Boot: restart holding down the shift key until the grey progress bar appears. The Mac should boot in 'stripped down mode' allowing you to run a few tests web-browsing. Restart as normal from the Apple menu when you're done.
If the Mac came with no disks you are probably running OS X 10.7.x Lion. You can check/repair your disk by booting while holding down Command+R which takes you to Lion's recovery mode. You can run Disk Utility from there to verify/repair your disk should you ever need to.
If you feel you want some anti-virus software the one that is most often recommended on these forums as being trouble-free on Macs is the free/donationware clamXav: www.clamxav.com -
Itunes crash when browsing Music Store
I wonder if anybody can help me. iTunes tends to crash when I'm browsing the music store. It very happens often. I tried trashing the preferences and doing the disk utility according to the guys from the genius bar, but it still persist. I appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
Me too, but I'm afraid that I don't have anything worthwhile to add to the discussion. It's been going on for months and no one seems to want to acknowledge the problem. iTunes works fine as long as I don't try to send Apple any money, so I guess it's their loss except that it means I have to travel to a physical store to buy CDs on plastic optical media.
