IWeb 09 - where are files stored?

Newbie question-
I want to be able to work on a web design on both my iMac and MacbookPro, but I can't be sure I have all the files I need to do that?
I thought I would move all the site files to DropBox and then I could access them on the iMac at home and on the road with the mbp.
I will be then uploading them to a hosting site with ftp, if that matters. (I'm using mobile me right now for a testing site).
thx for advice
tom

  • Iweb query - where are files I have created saved to?

I have never previously used iweb in the 7 years I have had my computer.  Now I have created a small website on it but I am struggling to launch it.  I have chosen the FTP option and downloaded an FTP client (Classic FTP).  That client has offered me a list of my imac files to launch but my iweb website is not there - and I cannot find it in Finder, to transfer it to imac.  In iweb it only offers "save", not "save to".  But all saves are successful, as each time I run iweb I get the most recently amended version of my website.
    Any help gratefully received.

Unfortunately I'm a real novice and "fill in the publish details" doesn't mean much to me.
iWeb asks for FTP Server (I think it's ftp.nchsoftware.com), username & password - do I invent a username & password.
Classic FTP asks for similar info - do I put the same FTP Server info in?  I assume I put the same username (my e-mail address?).  I don't remember setting up a password but it says I have and I can't remember it.  Have e-mailed nch for password help.
I've spent hours getting this far - it's v confusing for a pensioner like me.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Where are files stored?

In the midst of recovering from a hard drive failure, the one thing I can't figure out is where the documents for my iWeb site (backups on my iDisk: web.sites.iweb.site) should be placed on my hard drive in order to be accessed by iWeb when I launch the program.
When I launch iWeb now, it's as if I'm launching it for the first time and I can't navigate my way to the documents on iDisk in order to reimport my pages.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • I need to know where are files stored when you save an image from an email

I downloaded print central and can print from it, but how do I get an attachment to save inside to print central?

there should be classes for newbie and advanced (not in age) and I would think they would if there are enough, have classes aimed at elderly as well - many need to and love to keep in touch with far-flung family and friends through Skype, video, IM and other new social formats.
I know my father went to classes for awhile when he got a laptop and the classes was one of the reasons he choose the store he did, and had it custom configured for him (the computer, not the adult class).
For many, just getting someone to understand what RAM and storage and what virtual memory vs real is a stretch of imagination. And we see that here with some questions.
Try explaining 3D to someone that lives on a mobius strip in a flat world.
    One idea:
I would think there are YouTube courses to follow at home on your own and that can output from computer to a TV or view on a tablet (and iPod and tablets output to TVs just fine too).

  • Where are passwords stored on my hard drive, can I access them, alter them

Where are passwords stored on my hard drive/ folder, can I access them and alter them. Can I add passwords to that file/ folder.

Using the Saved Password Editor may be overkill for most users. The quickest way to manipulate saved passwords in Firefox is on the menu bar go to:
Tools -> Options -> Security -> Saved Passwords -> Show Passwords

  • Where are Applets stored in WinNT/IE5.5

    Hi Folks,
A client is receiving an error saying (not exact)
    Java.Lang error cannot find ...class
In Winnt\Downloaded Program Files, Java 1.3.1 is saying it is damaged.
I have reinstalled IE 5.5 but the error remains.
How can I reinstall Java, and/or the Applet.
Where are Applets stored in WinNT/IE5.5?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Steve

Before you reinstall your JRE/JVM have you tried it in other browsers such as Mozilla, Netscape Navigator, Opera, or others? IExp has taken a giant leap BACKWARDS (IMO) in that it doesn't ship the latest JVM, so it's probably just a browser issue. If its your own applet that you are trying to load, if it works in the appletviewer then there's nothing wrong with your JVM.

  • Where are files for my applications kept? I'm trying to do a clean install.

I have an intel imac OS 10.6.8. I have to do a clean install and need to transfer my files to a USB flashdrive because time machine hasn't backed up in 3 months. Where are files for my applications kept?

Since you mentioned Time Machine, I'm assuming you have an external hard drive? So why not make a complete backup - either with Time Machine or a bootable clone with CarbonCopyCloner or SuperSuper? Applications sometimes transfer well, but not always - it depends how many files/parts they have on the hard drive in different locations. There is no simple answer to your question because of that - it depends on the individual application. I'd back up all of it, do the install, and then use Setup Assistant to port things back.

  • SQL Developer 1.5 where are connections stored?

SQL Developer 1.5 where are connections stored?

    The connections are in
    C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\SQL Developer/system1.5.0.53.38/o.jdeveloper.db.connection.11.1.1.0.22.49.35/connections.xml
If you want to back them up, you can just right-click export from the tree.

  • When I back up my musical files where are they stored?

I got a nano a couple of years ago and put all my albums on it (synced through i-tunes). I hadn't used my nano for a few months and when I went back to it my library seemed to have been replaced.......is it possible that my teenage son overwrote the nano?. Where are my files actually backed up - would it be on the laptop I used during the backup process (even though I was signed on to I-tunes at the time) or are they in fact backed up remotely through the I-tunes site.
It is all so confusing - and frustrating.
I searched for my song library on my Click-free back up device but it does not seem to have stored the songs.....just stored the link to I-tunes.
Could somebody direct me on how to solve my problem.
    cheers

Your music should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and can be synced back to your nano as you did originally.  Have you opened iTunes and clicked on Music to see if your music is still there?

  • Where are settings stored (foldeer/ini file/Registry)? Backup settings poss

Where are the settings of SQL Developer stored?
Is this a folder, an *.ini file or the Registry?
If it is a folder: Can I change the location of the folder?
    If yes: Where exactly?
How can I otherwise export/save settings otherwise?
    Peter

In your home directory will be created a path like ...\SQL Developer\system1.5.4.59.40
There SQL developer stores the local data.
You can change this path (here ...my_options/system) with th following line in the sqldeveloper.conf, located in path ...\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin:
    # This is to enforce storing of configuration information in the "/my_options/system"
    # subfolder I have created in the SQL-Developer installation directory (instead
    # of in the "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\SQL Developer"),
    # so that SQL-Developer installation directory can be just copied to another
    # location (e.g. a stick) and along with the configuration information.
    AddVMOption -Dide.user.dir=../../my_options/system
Thanks to Juri W. for this solution!
Before changing the path you should save your connection and custom report - settings via right click -> export in the connection and custom report view, I had to reimport these settings after movimg my directory.

  • Web Folders, where are files and content stored?

When files/content are added to Web Folders, via Portal, where are these files stored? In the database? file system?
Thanks in advance for any answers!

    Thanks for your reply Sandeep,
So I assume a hot or cold back-up of the database/MRU will also backup all Portal content?

  • Where are versions stored in Bridge\Adobe Drive?

We are currently working with CQ5 \ Bridge 5 \ Drive 3. Lets say I have video file inside CQ and I want to change the version with Bridge. The new video file is a lot smaller, say 30megs less. I copy the new old file over using Bridge and add it as a version. I can now revert back to the old version if I want to or just use the new one. The question is where is the larger file stored? I don't see it in the DAM any more, only see the new smaller file however. If I check the actual file inside the var\dam in CQ I can see variations but I don't know if these are the actual files.
What I'm getting at is that if I need to replace say 400 larger video files with smaller ones are the large ones still stored some place on the CQ server and would I manual have to delete them? I just need to know where those extra files are stored.
    Thanks!

Thanks for the help. I was unable to find the "show package content" option inside the windows version of Bridge. For whatever reason it only seems to be a Mac option.
    Omke Oudeman wrote:
The only file there is the newer version. So, that all comes back to my original quesiton what happens to the original file? Where is it stored. Is it cached some place on the CQ server and I need to delete the original from the versions?
I'm afraid I don't have an answer for that. Don't know how CQ works but in general creating a new and smaller version should leave the original untouched.
But I come to think of it as same behavior as in Lightroom, Aperture or iPhoto that uses a library structure.
Don't know if you are on Mac or Windows. But on a Mac you can select this library file that itself shows only the icon (mostly in default picture or movie folder). But if used with large amount of files it can grow to quit a size. Using right mouse click gives the option to show package content and that reveals several folders with amongst them an original or master folder that contains the originals. (if you find them don't move them to other locations but copy, otherwise you can loose the functionality in CQ
Hope this helps you on the right track.
