IWeb 3.0.2 will not open

I'm on a MacBook 2.2 GHz Core 2 with OSX 10.5.8 and using iWeb 3.0.2 (is this the right forum?).
Had begun a fairly large project, ran out of disk space, deleted / moved some extraneous files, rebooted, and iWeb will suddenly not start. Every time I open, it closes again. I've used Disk Utility to no avail.
Any ideas?

No it is not the correct forum - you need to go and post it in the iWeb 09 forum - this forum is for iWeb 06.

  • My GoDaddy hosted, iweb created web site will not open flash

    Hello,
    I'll try to be thorough:
I created a site with iWeb - It is band site.
I uploaded/published the site to godaddy.com, along with my URL www.momsgreatweed.com
If I access the URL from the Mac on which I created the site, it works fine, in SAFARI only (not firefox) even after having emptied the cache.
On all other computers (Mac and PC) I cannot open the "Tunes" page, which has a flash player and 10 mp3 files.
    I receive the following error:
To view this page, you must log into area "me.com" on idisk.mac.com:80
Needless to say, this is making me slightly insane. I can't possibly be the only person to ever experience this issue. I did call GoDaddy "tech support"; but a 30 minute call turned out to be useless.
Please, before I pull my hair out...any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Be well,

You pasted the code in the HTML Snippet.
Upon further inspection I noticed the links to the tunes are wrong too :
    (Sorry for the streched code)

  • Sites created in iWeb '08 will not open in iWeb '09

I upgraded to '09 but the sites that I created when I had '08 will not open. They are listed on the side menu but when you click on them the main window is blank/white. Is anyone having or had this problem and found the solution? Please help.
I have the files saved to a folder and I also think I have the old domain file backed up on another hard drive. That is extra information just incase that can help me.
    Thanks!

Delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder. Then launch iWeb and see if it opens.
What happened was trying to open the html file reset the file path that iWeb saves in its preference file to tell it where to go when you launch iWeb.  Deleting the pref file and launching iWeb creates a new file and iWeb looks in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder for the Domain.sites2 file it uses to create your site.

  • Iweb will not open

Iweb will not open, it shows up in the dock with the option to quit. "Adjust image" "colors" and "photos" all show up under the VIEW when selected but that all.  No apple stores in my area.  Could use some help.

You're saying you don't see an iWeb window when you double click on the iWeb icon in the Dock?
It's partially open since the iWeb icon in the dock offers the Quit option.  So first try this:
    open iPhoto.
    select a few photos.
use the Share ➙ iWeb ➙ Photos page menu option.
launch iWeb to see if there's any change.
It might take a couple of attempts to work. If the above doesn't work try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iiWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder.
3 - launch iWeb and try again.

I opened iweb once and started my website, then the program quit unexpectedly and now it will not open anymore. can someone please help me because i really need to use the program.

Were you able to launcn iWeb as part of the second fix, that of creating a new domain file?  Did iWeb open then?  If not boot into  Safe Mode and see if iWeb will launch. If it does reboot normally and try again.
If still a no go log into another user account on your Mac and see if iWeb will launch and open a domain file?  If so than there's something in your account that is the culprit.
If you can't launch iWeb in the other user account then a reinstallation of iWeb seems warranted. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apple the requried updaters.

  • How to fix a Domain file that will not open

We have a Domain file on our Mac Mini that will not open - iWeb keeps saying that it cannot be found, even though it is in the Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. I transferred the Domain file to my GS, and I get the same response - if I switch back to the original Domain file (on the G5), all is well. Obviously, the Domain file from the Mac Mini has gotten corrupted, but cannot determine the exact problem (though I think it may be the index.xml.gz file). I've reinstalled iWeb, checked permissions, deleted (and re-created) the associated plist files - nothing. Unfortunately, our company's web pages are in that Domain file, and cannot perform some much-needed updates. Any help that can be offered would be most appreciated!!

Have you tried double-clicking on the Domain file?

How do I fix this?  I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond with terms and procedures that a computer ignorant user, such as me, will understand.   Thanks.

Have you tried restoring the Preferences yet?

Help, I had aperture open and working on a image and did not have a battery in and bumped the power off. As a result it will not open my master, it is locked. when I try to open that Library  it says There was an error opening the database for the library. I have tried every thing. I updated the other libr but now it will not open the main to update. What do I do?

Try starting Aperture with the command and option keys held down.  You'll get 3 options.
Try each, starting at the top, in order, checking after each to see if it fixes the issue.

  • I am on windows 7 and I upgraded to 10.0.2 and now it will not open. I have removed firefox completely and uploaded it again and that did not work. So my latest attempt I removed firefox 10 again and uploaded the beta version and once again nothing.

I am on windows 7 and I upgraded to the newest verison of firefox and now it will not open. I have removed firefox completely and uploaded it again and that did not work. I then made sure it could get through my firewall and that did not work. So my latest attempt I removed firefox 10 again and uploaded the beta version hoping that would do it and once again nothing. It will not open at all. Please help - is there a live chat or a number to talk to someone at Firefox?

I think when uninstalling you may also have to choose (tick) to delete the preferences and other personal data like the bookmarks, stored passwords etc. to erase completely. If you are installing afresh, please try right-clicking on the file and '''Run as administrator''' to install. And when uninstalling, please also make sure choose to delete all data and also manually delete any '''Mozilla''', '''Mozilla Firefox''' or '''Firefox''' from %appdata%, %localappdata% and %programfiles%. You can open a location by typing for eg. %appdata% in the '''Run''' box (Windows key + R). You may also have to check the '''VirtualStore''' folder in %localappdata%. Files in the VirtualStore can be problematic. I think a clean installation may help.
