Iweb and blogger help
I have set up a blogger account to publish under my news section of my website. I created a template in iweb, the copied and pasted the html with some modification into the template editor in blogger. That works fine and can be seen at http://www.markmcleod.org/Mark_Mcleod/News.html However if you click an archive the template at the top is lost and the links are a little screwey. I think I have the file structure wrong. I have the images stored for the template in a folder called new_files and have the image source pointing to that folder. Anyone know how to fix this? I am doing it this way instead of with iweb so I can blog anywhere.

I've een trying to do thid since quite some time and always get an error when I upload the html code into blogger template editor.
Also, did you try it on the blogger normal site or the blogger BETA site?

SteveWell, the way Blogger works is that it allows you to set up the template for your site in HTML. You have to embed your CSS styles in the HTML template, and you have to use the required Blogger content inserts in order for it to work correctly. That might be a little difficult with iWeb, considering that it's not set up for use with Blogger. You can manually edit your HTML files to get them to work, but if you don't know anything about HTML and site design, it'll be hard.

I have been checking around on here to see if anyone has discussed using iWeb and a previously started Blogger page. Seems folks are touching on it but not quite discussing it fully. I even googled it and came up with nothing. Guess it's still too new?
Is it possible to post a blog made in iWeb to a Blogger page?
Is it possible to do it without having to host it on .Mac and then bounce the link?
Seems like there has to be a way but I am just not clever enough at this yet. I did try to drop in some of the html code into a blogger site when you go into the template area. I know nothing about HTML but what did occur was the general image of the iweb theme did appear on top of my old blogger site but not all of the photos came along for the ride. I'll go on a limb with this and hope I'm not way off but until someone who knows what they are talking about can verify this, I would take this with a teeny, tiny grain of salt:
You could probably integrate the theme of a iweb site into blogger but to get the blogger functionality into the site, that may take a bit of HTML programming skills - such as implementing comments, photos, and how new blog entries would be insterted. As I posted elsewhere, I'm a little less concerned than most about comments as should i make a site, it would be mostly a travel blog with photos, videos and perhaps some ramblings on places I've been but my biggest concern is .mac - it seems absurdly slow and I'm really not sure if I uplaod more than 3 or 4 travel videos that i'll have much storage space left - 1GB these days seems like a lot but it really isn't.

I mention all this as I want to copy this basic structure. I'd like to have a "moving" home page that would be me sitting at a table writing something. The viewer would "hear" the music. Behind me would also be giant windows. the written music would start to scroll across the panes of the window just like "Sky Captain..."
Based on what street the CAM went, you would arrive at different scenes relevant to the kind of music I would like to display. There, like the "VMAX Motorcycle" web site, page 2, would be the selection of music with picture of as many cues that I had in that style, etc.

Hey, Im using iWebMore to use html. I tried it to make an iFrame, didnt work, tried to embed a YouTube video, didnt work. So I tried something simple such as:

which will simply but Hello! over Bye with a line between them. However, this still did not work.
I think the major problem I am having is that when in iWebMore, I choose 'Select Publish Folder...', navigate to my iDisk, but I can't choose the web folder as it is an alias. The Web folder is faded with a little black arrow in the bottom left hand corner of the folder. I think I need to change this folder from an alias to an actual folder, but I don't know how.

I am trying to move a picture that I brought over from iWeb and it is locked. I need to move it. Can anyone help?
It is probaly just "inline" ie part of the text.

I changed my header in iweb and when I published the site the font had shrunk and it displayed incorrectly. It was only on my home page, not on others. I have iweb 3.0.4. Help!?!?
Just in-case anyone els runs into this, I figured it out... I was working from my hotel and apperantly the fire wall was not allowing anything to uplaod, but I wasn't getting an error message from iweb, it would say that everything was published succesfully even though it wasn't. Once I went home and used my connection eveything worked fine.

Iweb, mobileme, and godaddy HELP!
I purchased a domain from godaddy.com, designed the website on iweb '09, and have chosen to host the site through mobileme.
After an initial CNAME error on my part, I have been assured by godaddy reps that everything is correct on their end. I have set up the personal domain on my mobileme account, and have published the site from iweb '09 to mobileme. I have waited for the site to propogate onto godaddy servers, and the website is not pulling up. I get an error message that states that the website is temporarily unavailable. I tried republishing through iweb, and nothing seems to help.
My mobileme account is not set to private, and all of the mobileme information is showing correctly.
What do I do to fix this--fast?

I spent 4 hours yesterday at my local apple store to see if anyone had additional ideas, and finally a representative deleted the site from my iweb and had me create a new user on my mac. I set up the site through iweb under the new user, but we were still having issues, so we went into godaddy and changed the url forwarding and then masked the site. It was the only solution that worked, and I am thrilled that the site is up and working. I had followed all of the godaddy instructions on the site, and so did the apple reps, (we were troubleshooting mobileme, iweb and godaddy simultaneously) but nothing provided by the godaddy site or godaddy representatives worked. It was just a long process of trial by error that eventually brought us to a solution.

So i'm trying to see how i can set up a website in iweb and edit that website from multiple computers and it stay up-to-date. is there a way to do this?
thanks, that does help a bit, i think i can figure that out. my next question is what happens to my existing iweb sites if i try to open a different DOMAIN file from a different source?
ie: i have like over 20 iWeb sites in my iWeb 2.0 that are in a DOMAIN file stored in the default location. if i go to open (by double clicking) a DOMAIN file from an iDisk for instance to edit it and it opens iWeb, what will happen with my other sites? and will this set that iDisk DOMAIN file location as my default? -
I have created a Blog in iWeb and uploaded it to an FTP server. It works fine, except that the 'Comments' facility is missing. When I upload the blog to MobileMe the 'Comments' facility is there and working great. How can I solve the problem on the FTP server Blog.

I'm really desperate. I used to publish to a blog directly from iWeb, then I discontinued it. When I made the switch to iCloud, I wasn't worried because I knew my files would always be there. However, once I got a new computer, I transferred all the old files to an external hard drive and I thought everything would work just fine. Well, it didn't Neither can I open iWeb nor can I find my files.
Can anyone help me please?New Macs have not shipped with iWeb for over 2 years and Apple has not sold or supported iWeb for at least 2 years now - Apple stopped selling it and dropped support for it when MobileMe was ditched in favour of iCloud which does not offer hosting.
If you want iWeb, then you will need to have a look at your old installation CD's for your old Mac and see if iWeb is on these and you can then install it from there or if you don't have these CD's any longer, then you'll have no option but to purchase a copy of either iLife 09 or iLife 11 from Amazon - these boxed sets both contain iWeb 09, which is the latest version of iWeb.
Other than this and as you have not done your blog for sometime, perhaps you should consider re-creating it from scratch with a software that is actively supported and updated - that is NOT iWeb any longer.
You could try using WordPress, either .com or .org - .org is good if you already have hosting and you can install WordPress directly onto your server. If you want something free, then you could use WordPress.com which is then published on the WordPress servers.
You could also take a look at EverWeb from Rage Software, which is very new and is very like iWeb with all the extras, such as drop down menus etc. Take a look at http://www.everwebapp.com.
As for your files, it sounds that when you say files, these might be the published files for your site, if you went into iWeb and published them to a local folder? This is not a backup and even if you could find these files, then iWeb will not be able to open them because it has no import facility, so cannot open an already published site - html and css files.
What you need is your domain.sites files which can be found under your User Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
I would cut your losses and if you don't have iWeb, then don't bother paying for software that is now outdated and unsupported - move onto to something new and re-create everything in either WordPress or EverWeb. -
Problems with iWeb and mobile me

I've been having a ridiculous amount of problems with my mobile me account and my iweb. 2 weeks ago I was fine with my iweb and mobile me but all of a sudden my iweb would say it publish but it really doesn't publish. The I went to the mac store a couple of times and thought I would get answers but I didnt get any answer even though I had a couple of one to one visits with a couple of stores in NYC. So when i publish it it shows that it published in my www.me.com/idisk/iweb folder but then it doesn't show in my website. Then one guy told me that I should just recreate a new site but copy and past all the old information to the new one. Now it won't publish at all because I guess its a lot of information to publish at once. I get an error message saying error iweb was not able to publish please try again later. Thanks for the help, but I did try to publish all to my iweb and it didn't work. I do try to view my published website through the file/visit published site and for some reason only my intro page is there then when i go into the main page i get an error page. I also did go to my finder/Go/idisk/myidisk/iweb/site/iweb and saw my websites folder. Everything seems to be in it. I tried to take a screen shot of what is in my folder but I can't post pictures. In my folder I have a folder for gallery, index.html, site, shites.rss, and my website folder usvisualswebsite
Any other suggestions? This is really frustrating. I also created another test site with nothing in it and published it and it says it finishes publishing but the blank test page isn't there. -
IWeb and SimpleViewer Pro gallery issues

I have a simple viewer gallery (http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/) and I tried to upload the gallery on a page of my iweb site through IFRAME with this code:

the result is that iWeb crashes even before saving the html snippet, so I have to restart everything and nothing changes. So as soon as i paste the code in the html snippet iWeb stops responding.

1 - close iWeb.
2 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
3 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
4 - reboot.
5 - launch iWeb and see if there's any improvement.
If that doesn't help continue:
6 - move the domain file from your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
7 - launch iWeb, create a new test site and save.
8 - go to the your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
9 - move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
10 - launch iWeb and try again.

I am using iWeb to create my web site but publishing my photos from iPhoto to the mobile me gallery. In iWeb I am using the Black theme where it puts the main links to the different pages across the top. I would like to add a link there that goes to the gallery.me.com page. how do I do this??
Thanks for the help.iWeb: you don't need to save anything from the iDisk - iWeb does not open html files. Your iWeb sites are held in (user)/Library/Application Support/iWeb in a file called Domain. So even after MobileMe terminates you will still be able to open iWeb and see your sites, you just won't be able to publish them to MobileMe. You can publish them to any other webspace - please see this page:

Gallery: if your albums arre synced with iPhoto or Aperture then the pictures are on your Mac anyway. If not, and you don't have local copies (which is always a risky procedure) you will have to download each picture separately. Alternatively there is an online photo gallery service called ZangZing which provides an easy import facility from various other services including MobileMe's Gallery. It's free until June 2012 after which the first 2GB is free with escalating price levels starting at $5 per month or $50 a year. -
I am trying to upload pictures from the MobileMe Gallery. I have albums published but when I move the MobileMe widget to the web page I am creating it reads "No albums or movies". Please help.
I've jumpstarted the MMe widget with the following 2 fixes before:
Try this:
quit iWeb
go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
login with a bogus username and password like "Ying" and "Yang". This clears the caches.
login with your correct username and password.
launch iWeb and try again.
Ahother method that worked one time was:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
launch iWeb and try again.
HOWEVER, a way to embed your MMe gallery and not worry about fixes is to go online and get the URL of your MMe gallery and plug it into the following code in an HTML snippet:
