Iweb and how it converts to a pc

We have our business website in the latest ilife, Iweb and all looks good on our macbook but on other pc computers - the margins are all messed up. Photos are in the wrong place as well as logos. What can we do to make it look better on a pc. This is important for our business. Thanks for your help. Rachel [email protected]

I am a mac user so I think apple needs to patch iweb so that it writes the proper code so that all browsers can use it.
You can tell them that here:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html
While you wait for them to adopt your point of view, if you can't change anything and your site doesn't work the way you need it to, then best try another app. There are lots of them. Here is one list:

    Apple discontinued iWeb. That's the case for over a year now.
    Topics in this forum will tell you that in order to install iWeb you have to find a copy at eBay, Amazon and similar places.

  • Do I need to buy a web hosting package to publish with iweb, and how do I configure Filezilla?

    Hi,
    I've created a website using iweb and have bought a domain name from 123reg and downloaded Filezilla as the FTP server. How do I configure Filezilla to my server and do i need to buy a web hosting package?
    Thanks!

    To use FileZilla, or iWeb's built-in FTP, you need a webhosting package.
    Which one? Start with your own ISP. Otherwise its like answering what's a good grocery store.
    The webhoster will provide the details of what to enter in the various fields.
    Perhaps 123Reg offers what you want? They do actually.
    You must have seen it when you visited their pages.

  • How to convert an int number to a byte array, and how to convert back?

    Hello, everybody,
    Just as the topic, if I have an int number(which should have 32-bit, or 4-byte), how can I convert it into a byte array. And also, how to convert it back.
    Thank you in advance!

    Alternatively you can use ByteBuffers to do this work for you
    // to a Byte Array
    int originalInt =...;
    ByteBuffer myBuffer = ByteBuffer.allocate(4);
    myBuffer.putInt( originalInt );
    byte myArray[] = myBuffer.array();
    // and back to an int
    ByteBuffer myOtherBuffer = ByteBuffer.wrap(myArray);
    int finalInt = myOtherBuffer.getInt();

    I am a beginner and am trying to convert all my java code into webservices,I have

    warName="${war_file}">

    Hi Bruce,
    Thanks very much for the insight u provided.Yes one of my public methods was returning
    a element factory.
    But let me ask my question this way:
    Is there a way to tell servicegen to take only the specified public methods in
    a class to make them as webservices?
    by default servicegen is taking all the public methods..,i workaround i found
    is to deploy the webservice manually by writing the web-services.xml to include
    only the required public methods.
    thanks

    Hi Suresh,
    Does your Test.java have a public method that returns the element
    factory of an XML document, like "public ElementFactory
    getElementFactory ();" or such?
    If so, you may want to check out the supported build-in and non-built-in
    data types:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/assemble.html#1060696
    Concerning your last question, you can use the excludeEJBs, includeEJBs
    (in combination with the ejbJar attribute) to specify which non-built-in
    data type components should be generated. Or if you use the
    javaClassComponents then simply use a comma separated list of class
    names.
    Hope this helps,
    Bruce

    My file is ANSI coded (pure ascii, isn't it ?)Nope, ANSI is not the same as ASCII.
    ANSI is not a well-specified encoding at all, in fact.
    Usually "ANSI" is used to refer to "whatever the platform default encoding is on this Windows machine". So if you move a text file in "ANSI" encoding from an english Windows installation to another Windows installation that's set to use a russian locale, then "ANSI" will mean something different on those two machines and therefore the decoded String won'T be correct (unless you're lucky and your file only contains characters from the ASCII-subset (i.e. the lower 128 values)).
    On English-language Windows installations, ANSI usually refers to [Windows-1252|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows-1252].

  • Launchctl: how to convert a plist file (just to know)

    I bought my MacPro with OSX 10.5 and immediately converted it to 10.6 at the 1.st boot time, so I don't know if this "issue" was present in 10.5 too (if it cares).
    First of all: _it's NOT a problem_ (I guess) but I only wish to know *how to "convert xyz.plist to launchctl"* as I wandered the net searching for infos but found nearly nothing about it.
    Details: (+the Mac is performing really well, booting and shutting down correctly+ but) at boot time, which I do _every time in verbose mode_ (yes, I like it), I read every time launchctl complaining about three files to "convert":
    /etc/mach_init.d/chum.plist
    /etc/mach_init.d/dashboardadvisoryd.plist
    /etc/mach_init.d/pilotfish.plist
    cut(ting) one of them, chum.plist, seems to me that it's already "converted" into launchctl format:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>Command</key>
    <string>/usr/libexec/chum</string>
    <key>OnDemand</key>
    <true/>
    <key>ServiceName</key>
    <string>com.apple.chud.chum</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    so... what launchctl wants? and *HOW TO convert* this file (and the other two) to its format?
    It's a kind of curiosity. Even man launchctl didn't enlighten me enough.

    Thanks, I know it, but if the system complains about something, I think a problem should be fixed (by me or by someone).
    It will be, in due time. It isn't important that it be fixed right now or Apple would have done it for those items. The inetd method has not be deprecated and still functions as it has in unix for a long time.
    As a sort of "conversion" is requested I asked how to convert or a different solution to avoid the system's complain.
    (note: a "solution" is what really solves a problem, not just switch off the TV to avoid looking at something awful ;))
    And I gave you the path to the solution in the link I posted. There's a lot to learn if you want to convert those yourself.

  • I exported a iphoto slideshow to desktop, converted it to mpg file by using BURN app, burned to DVD and exported to a USB flashdrive. The DVD looks great but flashdrive is extremely fuzzy. What is the difference and how can I make flashdrive sharper?

    I exported an iphoto slideshow to desktop, converted it to mpg file by using the BURN app, burned it to a DVD and exported it to a USB flash drive. The DVD looks great and very sharp but the slideshow on the USB flash drive is extremely fuzzy. What is the difference and how can I make the slideshow on the flash drive look as sharp as the DVD?

    Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  For iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier select Size = Medium or Large. For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
    Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
    Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
    Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
    To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
    Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
    If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
    Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
    If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
    Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
    This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
    You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

    Relax, they weren't converted to PDF.
    You can tell by right clicking ANY of them and choosing "Properties". You'll see there that they're STILL .xls or .xlsx files. The "association" has changed and Windows now indicates that they open with Reader, which isn't right.
    Where it says "Open With" under the General tab, you can click "Change" and re-select Excel as the default app to open thim.

  • Video Format Total Solution: How to Convert and Edit Video on Windows/Mac

    More and More video formats are coming out with different video encoders and it makes our spare time more and more colorful. However, it is not to say that there is no problems. Actually, different video formats make it difficult to share video with others, even your own camcorder and iPod. Is there an easy way to convert videos effectively. Yes, there is.
    In this article, I will show you guys how to convert videos on windows and mac.
    Part 1. How to Convert and Edit Videos on Windows
    For Windows users, you need a Video Converter(http://www.aiseesoft.com/total-video-converter.html) to do that for you.
    Here I use Aiseesoft Total Video Converter(http://www.aiseesoft.com/total-video-converter.html)
    Step 1: Download and install Aiseesoft Total Video Converter
    After you download it to your computer, double click it and it is really easy to install.
    You just need to click “next” and it will complete it in seconds. It will automatically run after installation.
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/total-video-converter/screen.jpg
    Step 2: Load Video
    Click “Add File” to find the video that you want to convert and click “open”. It will be loaded automatically.
    Step 3: Select the target to decode
    In the “Profile” drop download list you can find your target according the usage of your output video, such as if you want to put the video on your iPod touch, you can select the “iPod” in the first list and “iPod touch 2 MPEG-4 640*480(*.mp4)” in the second list.
    Step 4: Set Advanced Parameters
    After you select the right output profile, you can click “setting” button to set your advanced parameters. You can adjust video and audio settings separately. In video section, you can change “video encoder”, “resolution”, “frame rate”, “video bitrate”In audio section, you can change “audio encoder”, “sample rate”, “channel”, “audio bitrate”If you want to save this profile and settings and use it next time you can click “save as” button to give a name to it. And the next time you want to use it you can find it in the profile list named “user defined”.
    Step 5: Choose a Destination
    To browse and find a output folder for your output files or just the default one.
    Finally, Click “Convert” button to begin your conversion, here in the converting
    interface you can choose “shut down the computer when conversion complete” or “open output folder when conversion complete” or you just do not choose neither one.
    Tips: How to Edit the Output Video
    This video converter is also a video editor, you can use it to edit your output video as follows:
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/total-video-converter/effect.jpg
    1. Effect:
    You are allowed to adjust the “Brightness”, “Contrast”, “Saturation” and you can choose the “deinterlacing” to make the video more enjoyable.
    2. Trim:
    In “Trim” section you can pick up any part of the video to convert.
    There are two ways to select the part of the video you want. One is set the start and end time in the box. The other one is to drag the start and end button in the processing bar.
    3. Crop:
    This function allows you to choose a certain play area to convert. That means you can choose a part of the screen you like to convert. For example, you just like the tv in the middle of the screen, then you can drag the frame around the preview window to select the tv and the output preview will show you the output video.In this section you can also choose the “zoom mode”, such as “keep original”, “full screen”, “16:9”, “4:3”.
    4. Watermark
    In the section, you can add a watermark on the output video to show people something, such as your name, website, studio name or other things. The watermark could be words and picture. You can adjust the transparent of the watermark easily to make it more beautiful.
    Part 2. How to Convert Video on Mac
    This time you need a Video Converter for Mac(http://www.aiseesoft.com/video-converter-for-mac.html)
    Step 1: Add File
    Click “Add File” button to load the video you want to converter
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/mac-video-converter/steps.jpg
    Step 2: Choose profile and adjust settings
    You can find your output video format from a drop-list called “Profile”You can also adjust the specific settings of the output video, such as “Resolution”, “Bitrate”, “Encoder” and so on.

  • How to convert a class file to exe file and how to cteate a class file to d

    how to convert a class file to exe file

    Hi Bhaskarq,
    Hi,
    It is not at all possible.
    But it is a really worst method.
    Please go through it.
    This is a very common question asked in the comp.lang.java newsgroup. Its often useful to have an
    executable application when deploying your
    applications to a specific platform, but remember to
    make your .class files available for users running
    Unix/Macintosh/other platforms.
    Microsoft provide a free system development kit (SDK),
    for Java, which includes the jexegen tool. This
    will convert class files into a .EXE form. The only
    disadvantage is that users need a Microsoft Java
    Virtual Machine (JVM) installed. If your target
    platform is Win32, you can either redistribute the
    virtual
    machine, or raise the level of your system
    requirements, to include Windows 98, or Windows 95
    with
    Internet Explorer 4. Systems matching these
    requirements will already have a copy of the Microsoft
    Java Virtual Machine installed.
    Note : You must specify all of the class files your
    application needs (except for standard java packges)
    as a parameter, so if you have third party libraries,
    you'll need to include them as well. You can use wildcards * though, and you don't need the original source code.
    Also please see this Forum which will give a good idea

    I hope this will help you.
