Iweb and paypal buttons

Hi
i use paypal buttons on one of my shop sites, is it possible to put paypal buttons onto a site in iweb. When i create a payment button in paypal, it creates some code which i copy and paste into my web page where i want the payment button to appear, with iweb not having the code view option, is there a way you can do this
thanks
James

Short of switching to something useful and much better for web development: [Coda|http://www.panic.com/coda> for instance, here is a tutorial for doing exactly what you need to do:

  • Iweb and Paypal issue

    Hello,
I'm trying to create a website for my mother in law so she can sell her pictures online. The idea is people look at a picture on her website, click on it and click on a Paypal button to add it to their cart and purchase it (they can choose the size and she will print them and ship them to the client).
I used Iweb (but if I find a better website builder I will switch) to create a website but when I try to incorporate a Paypal button I can not associate this button to one picture only. It can of "seat" there on my page and if you click on a picture to enlarge it the button is not associated to that particular picture.
Does anybody knows how to associate one button to one picture and make sure that button appear on the correct page? May be it's not even possible to do it on Iweb.
I also tried Sandvox and Rapidveawer with limited success.
Thanks for any idea you may offer.
    Sincerely
    Thierry

  • Problem with an HTML snippit and PayPal button - cant figure this one out?

Hello Mac people. We are really good with these things but this one has got us completely foxed.
We've done a tribute website in iWeb 08 for a friend and his family that were tragically murdered in November 2006 - the address is www.yemi.co.uk
We are trying to add a PayPal Donate button to the Charity Page.
Simple right? We went to our PayPal account, set up the button, previewed it (perfect), copied the code, pasted it into an iWeb HTML snippet window, clicked Apply and the PayPal button appeared on the page... Great, thats sorted right? Nope.
What happens after we publish to our .MAC account is that the PayPal button, when clicked, tries to load the entire PayPal page into the frame / area within the actual PayPal button, which is a tiny, on the iWeb page.
What we want it to do is just link to PayPal in a new window.
Tried everything we can think of to solve it including PayPal technical service, .MAC assistance etc... 3 days later we admit defeat!
Anyone have a clue what we've done wrong? Much appreciated.
    Regards from the UK
    [email protected]

Hi, just a quick update. We managed to solve this one by adding this to the first line of code that PayPal generates after it has been pasted into the Snippit window: target="newFormWindow" - it forces the page to open in a new window and gets round the problem we were having.
Hope this helps somebody else out in the future. Thanks.

  • Problems with iweb and safari - 'buttons' not working in safari/firefox...

Hello. Help! I've been using iweb for a while with no probs - but on trying to launch my most recent site I'm finding the navigation buttons (graphic images not text buttons) work fine in iweb on my mac, plus fine on a PC but only partially in safari/firefox browsers... see sarahgreen.me and you will see that none of them work on the home page. Is this some kind of bug? I was wondering if it is anything to do with there being too many objects on the page or something? They are fine on a PC.
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Sarah

In iWeb do Command-Shift-L to see the layout of the page.
The content in the Navigation layer is blocking the content of the Header layer. The body layer is empty.
Move ( +Use Command-drag+ ) EVERYTHING in the Navigation layer and EVERYTHING in the Header layer INTO the Body layer.
    Put content where it belongs.

  • Dreamweaver cs5 and PayPal Buttons

    Greetings,
My website was created with Dreamweaver cs5. Customers who want to purchase a product from my website simply press the "Add to Cart" button and this takes them to the PayPal checkout.
Here is the problem. If you click on ANY of the add to cart buttons for a particular product, the PayPal add to cart button adds a totally different, random product from my website into the cart. I have had problems with the add to cart buttons before. However, PayPal insisted that this kind of problem might be caused by Dreamweaver.
Every time I need a new "add to cart" button, I create it in PayPal. PayPal generates a code that I then copy and paste into dreamweaver. A customer service representative for PayPal said that the problem might be arising because of a copy and paste issue. He said that dreamweaver sometimes changes things you paste into your code.
    Is this true?
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Laila

I, too, have been experiencing similar problems. On PayPal support call earlier in day, I was advised to go to prefs/Code Rewriting/ and uncheck the "Rename form items when pasting" checkbox.
On doing so, I was able to test my problem page, http://www.screamingeagles.com/pages_02/invoiceMail.html and it worked in Safari, Opera, FireFox on two Macs, and Internet Explorer 8 on PC.
Closed all sessions, feeling pretty good about the fix, but on restarting about four hours later, Same Same...well, almost the same. At this point, the first item on the dropdown failed, while the next three, item 2, 3, and 4 choices and prices, worked. They appeared on payment page and reflected the correct prices, but just would not add the first item to the cart.
This prompted another call to PayPal support, and tech advised the same. On responding that I had already done that multiple times, he advised I contact DreamWeaver (Adobe) support as it was out of their scope of responsibility.
PayPal support tech also regenerated my code, pasted it in his text editor, and it worked exactly as I had saved in my "Saved Buttons". So, that again supports that it's a DreamWeaver problem/bug/flaw...insert language as needed.
I can't see any difference in the code itself (although I'm not an expert) so that led me to this post. The only other items within the Rewrite Code prefs that "might" influence it (in my prefs) is that I have checked:
Fix invalidly nested and unclosed tags
    Remove extra closing tags
Warn when fixing or removing tags
    Never rewrite code:
    Special characters:
Encode special characters in URLs using %
    Unchecked items:
    Rename form items when pasting
    URL encoding
On  my request, support tech also agreed that this should be escalated at his end to contact Adobe, as we agreed that it was unlikely that I would be the only person running into this problem.
    Looking forward to any response,
    Thanks,

I regenerated the code for the payment button and pasted into Simple Text. The code had the <option value=(1) etc etc lines (on /invoiceMail.html that corresponded to lines 145, 146, 147, 148) indented. I then went into Dreamweaver CS5 code, pasted, and no indent visible.
I manually indented each line four characters in, published, and that change seems to have worked.
Can't say with certainty, but one of those actions worked. (Keeping in mind I had already recreated the PayPal code a few times.)
    Hope that helps somebody.

  • IWeb not publishing PayPal button widget

As per Burns Media (see below). I have taken the proper steps to insert a PayPal button. However the button does not show up on the published site. I've done this in the past and it did work but not now. I have the latest update to iWeb and running OSX 6.4.2 Is there a problem with these updates or am I just missing something?
    Thanks for your help!
    Jerry
Burns Media Posted this: You can certainly use PayPal on your iWeb site, and it's fairly easy. You would indeed use the HTML Widget - first, log in to your PayPal account (or create one if you don't have one) and follow the steps to create a new button (Buy Now, Pay Now, Gift Certificate, etc.) When you've finished making the button, the last step gives you some HTML code to copy and paste into the HTML Widget. Copy the code from the PayPal site, in iWeb drag the HTML Snippet to your page and in the box that pops up paste the code. Hit Apply and you're done! When you publish the site, visitors can click your "Buy Now" box and be taken to PayPal to buy.

I think this is very similar to the instructions you posted, but here is a visual demonstration showing how to add PayPal to an iWeb site

  • Paypal button in iWeb site

any idea how to introduce a PayPal payment button into an iWeb site. Paypal give a section of HTML but i don't know how to apply it to the site i am creating for commercial use.

Here's how I got a paypal button on my site at:
    http://www.rowan-cottage.co.uk/Site/ShopBlog/ShopBlog.html
Go to Paypal and create your button. You'll get to a page with all the HTML needed. Copy this HTML.
Open a text box on your page the size of the button eg, 62 px by 31 px.
Type in the box some recognisable, unique text, eg, PaypalHTML, and change the font size of it so that's it fits in the tiny text box. You can horizontally centre the text or position it left or right, but don't vertically align it otherwise the text box changes into a png. You want it to remain a text box.
    Publish.
Open the page in your text/HTML editor.
Find and replace the text 'PaypalHTML' with the actual Paypal HTML.
That's it. That way there's no alignment problems and it goes where you want it to.
You use the same principle with banners served by other parties, scripts etc. See my links page for more examples:
    http://www.rowan-cottage.co.uk/Site/Links.html
    I hope that helps.

  • Creating paypal buttons in iWeb

i have copy and pasted the html code onto my web page in iWeb but when i publish the page the button is not generated...why? what am i doing wrong? It's the same procedure that I used to create a "visa buy now button" before. Also having the same problem using html from another site that want to generate a cartoon on my site. Wassup!?

If that's the case, then create a simple HTML page with the Paypal code.
Then paste this line in the HTML snippet:
    +<object width="75" height="50" data="/dotMacID/paypal.html" type="text/html" standby="Paypal" title="Paypal"></object>+
Instead of object you can also use iframe.
    Added:
[Here's my PayPal button|http://web.mac.com/wyodor/paypal.html]. Look at the source to see how it's done.
Save the source and put your own code into it. Otherwise I receive your donations.

  • PayPal Button missing after upload on iWeb 8

I've created a page on iWeb with a PayPal button.  I created the button on PayPal and added it to my page using the HTML widget and it shows up fine in iWeb.  When I upload it to my server the button and look at the page on the web it shows this message:
When I spoke with my server provider they said they could not see the HTML code.  I'm not sure why it's not uploading.
A publishing error message also appears after I upload the page:
Although I got this message all my pages were uploaded on my site and they looked fine except for the area where I placed the PayPal button.
Any ideas how I can get my PayPal button to upload and work?
    Thank you

I'm hosting my site through goDaddy.  This is the page in question:  http://dqtrs.com/DQtrs/Order.html
I uploaded the entire site again and now the PayPal button is showing fine and working but a few of the other jpgs that I use for links are missing.  This is how it looks in iWeb:
But this is what is posting now:
At least I know the PayPal button works now.  Just need to figure out why the other files aren't loading properly.  They were prior when the PayPal button wasn't uploading correctly.
    Thanks for you time,
    Joseph

  • Everytime I try to pay with my cc on paypal, I enter all of my infor and after I press the "review and confirm" button the same page reopens but has erased only my cc #, exp date and security cvv number. What could be wrong?

b.stats.paypal.com : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555
This appears on my error page everytime I try to use my credit card through paypal. I enter all of my info (billing, etc..) and after hitting the "review and confirm" button the same page reappears and has erased my cc number and leaving my name and billing info. What can I do to finish my transaction?

The message about CVE-2009-3555 is meant for webmasters to make them aware that they need to fix their servers.<br />
Firefox 3.6 versions can detect such a misconfiguration and displays a warning in the "Tools > Error Console".<br />

  • Gallery with Paypal buttons and drop-downs on the index page?

I'm looking for a LR gallery where I can have thumbnails with Paypal buttons and drop-downs on the index page.
I would prefer to keep my galleries interface streamlined and don't want to clutter it up with dropdowns and cart. I would like to have 1 page for ordering that has all my images as thumbnails with drop downs for price and size, rather than right-clicking on and image which opens in another page like the LRG Gallery with Paypal.
I don't have a lot of experience messing with code, and none with .js. I did make a drop down in Paypal and have the code, but I think things would be pretty unwield it I designed a page as a table like I would in MS Word.
I'm familiar with LRG Complete gallery, but don't see that it has the ability to not require a right click to order.

  • HTML Snippet customized paypal buttons not showing correctly when published

Hi, My customized paypal buttons that i but on my iweb site using html snippets are not displaying correctly. They work in Opera but not in firefox or safari. Please take a look and tell me what you think might be wrong. (all the links are working it's just not showing the graphics correctly (apart from in Opera)
    http://www.alisonbrent.com/ShopTableLamps.html
Also I've just noticed that when i return to my iweb application (after closing in down) the Html snippets aren't there anymore just an outline, just like they appear in safari?
    Many thanks,
    Ali
    P.S

    Bonjour
You inserted an image inside the ShopTable_Lampsfiles folder but it's is deleted every time you publish your page
    1) Create an new folder named Paypal in your root folder:
FTP: With a FTP software (like Cyberduck) create a new folder in your server root folder
MobileMe: just make an new folder inside the Folder Sites (iDisk > Web > Sites)
    Name this Folder "paypal"
    2) insert your image "addtocartbutton.png" inside this paypal folder
Get the new URL of your image , something like
    http://www.alisonbrent.com/paypal/addtocartbutton.png
    3) Paste this URL in your codes, replace
    src="http://www.alisonbrent.com/ShopTable_Lampsfiles/addtocartbutton.png"
    by
    src="http://the/new/URL/of/addtocartbutton.png"
