IWeb blog entry order

Greetings,
Looking to reverse the order of blog from earliest to latest.
Found this discussion thread with javascript to do what I'm looking for:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1605117
However, the javascript removes CSS formatting that is used in the Theme. Anyone with any ideas how to maintain the formatting of the text?
Thanks in advance.

  • In iWeb, blog entries are not appearing

    in iWeb, am entering blog entries which are appearing in the blog archive but showing up as an entry for people to see.  Any suggestions?

    Do you mean 'appearing in the blog archive but not showing up as an entry for people to see' ?
    By default iWeb limits the number of entries in a blog feed to 5; it then moves older episodes to the archive page (and out of the feed) as new entries are made. You can increase this number to 50 in the RSS section of the Inspector.
    New entries should not be appearing in the Archive, though if you were giving them older dates then they presumably would.
    Posting the URL of your blog might aid in finding a solution.

  • My iWeb Blog entries are not showing on MobileMe. Help!

    When I click on the link from the Blog Summaries to one one my Blog Entries I get a 'Not Found' page - all published to MobileMe with the latest iWeb. These llinks have always worked before. The problem has been apparent for two days now. What can or will be done to correct this?

    Does your blog have comments by visitors?  If not you can move your blog to a new server and only lose the ability to search the blog.  But if you have visitor comments included in your blog you will lose those comments when moving to a new server.
    If you do have visitor comments post back and I'll give links to a method that can be used to convert your blog w/comments to a WordPress blog.

  • Please help with creating more diverse iweb blog entries

    I have a blog about sports memorabilia that I use iweb for: http://www.hoopography.com. I have come to a road block in creating blog entries. I have two issues:
    1.) I would like to include more than one image for each blog. I tried to just add images and wrap text around when I create the entry in iWeb, but the images do not show up on the homepage where the blog section is located. I'm assuming I need more than one "place holder", but I have not been able to add more than one. Here is an example of another blog that has multiple images for one entry. Essentially, what I am trying to accomplish: http://offysports.blogspot.com/
    2.) I would like to add YouTube videos so that they not only appear in the individual entry, but also on the homepage where the blog section is located (Otherwise, visitors to the site need to click on the entry to even realize the image is a video. I would like readers to be able to play it right on the homepage.). I have tried to use the "YouTube Widget" to add the videos when working on the entry in iWeb, but the video appears as a still image on the homepage's blog section.
    I have some knowledge of iWeb and Macs. I have been using a Mac and iWeb to work on this blog for about 6 months now, but these 2 problems have stumped and constrained me and the blog. Please help!!!!!! Thanks You.

    I tuned the Place holder into a YouTube Video Widget, and it does display on the homepage, but it does not display as a video. It displays as a still image that the reader has to click on to access the entry and then play the video in the entry instead of playing right on the homepage.
    For the multiple images, are you saying that I can only have one placeholder? I do not follow. I want multiple placeholders for multiple images throughout the single entry (ex: http://offysports.blogspot.com/2010/05/2009-10-panini-studio-basketball.html)
    Thanks

  • IWeb Blog Entries - search, keywords, and categories?

    Hi all
    I've been looking around these forums and elsewhere for help on this, but not having much luck...
    I'm wanting to put a search box on to my iWeb site. I am not a MobileMe customer and therefore realise the default search field in iWeb will not work. Does anyone know of one/a way that will allow me to:
    - Search blog entries
    - Add keywords to blog entries created in iWeb
    - View blog entries that have been assigned to a particular category (e.g. A 'holidays' topic would show all the entries with the holiday keyword, the 'work' topic would show all entries with work...etc.)
    All of this would need to be integrated in to my site, and ideally not be done on a 3rd-party site.
    Any help would really be appreciated. Like I said, I am not a MobileMe user and would be publishing the site on my own webspace.
    Hope someone out there can help!
    Thanks, and happy holidays!

    Just two examples of many possibilities — both these are free and web-based, so nothing to download...
    WordPress is sophisticated but, with all its myriad options, can be complex:

    Posterous has fewer options, but is very easy to use:

  • Web Based iWeb Blog Entries?

    I just came across an instance where it would have been handy to add blog entries to my page created in iWeb, from a computer that does not have iWeb loaded. As far as I know there is no way to make blog entry additions like you can in the more conventional web-based blog applications (Myspace, Blogspot etc...).
    I am pretty sure I have run all the traps on this one, but does anyone know if an option to allow this is available, or is in the works?
    It would be great to be able to travel and make additions to my blog at any computer kiosk.

    No, that's not the problem. I am talking about adding a blog entry from a kiosk type connection, not your mac connected to the internet.
    It sounds like you ae having a problem publishing to iDisk. This can happen with complex network connections (wireless, routers, switches, and firewalls at hotels).

  • Iweb blog entry names?

    On website address shows numbers not a blog entry title anyone knows how to resolve it? Tried to delete spaces between the words but it didn't helped me?

    i don't blog on the website i have, but one way to do this is to upload everything.
    Alternatively, you could see what is different from what is on the FTP server and upload that.
    Good luck!

  • Specific Browsers not displaying iWeb Blog Entries...

    As of this morning, Firefox AND Safari are not displaying a month's worth of entries. They start back in April, but nothing more current. Google's Chrome does show everything properly. I dumped the cache and history of the browsers and re-published iWeb, but nothing... I've had problems in the past with specific browsers and image albums, but never this before. Any clues?

    It's not anything you or iWeb has done. It's the MobileMe servers. This happens on and off not only with blogs but other aspects of iWeb sites, slideshows, etc. All you can do is wait it out and report the problem to Apple via Report the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/mobileme.html and http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html.
    For best stability and features many recommend using a 3rd party blogging site and embedding it in one of your iWeb pages as shown in this demo page: Embed a Site Within an iWeb Page. That way you can add to the blog from any computer anywhere.

  • IWeb blog entry with an earlier date than today?

    Is there a way to create an entry in iWeb that has a date before today's date? Say I want to create an entry of something that happened five days ago... When I create an entry, it automatically sets the date to today. Is there any way to change the date backwards for the entry?

    Possibly not. When you highlight and erase it, it doesn't help you make a new one, but the font size and color settings remain. I just re-wrote the dates I wanted in the same way they had already been written (day, month, date, year).
    Example on my non-profit site, all the journal entries were entered on the same day (Jan 25), but I changed the dates on them to reflect when they were actually written by the author. See under "Journal" page in this site linked here: http://www.catalinafoundation.org

  • With german iweb blog entries has "einträge".

    Most Servers don't like european letters like "ä".
    So it is not possible to use iWeb with Blogs in the german version.
    Is there a solution?

    Is there a solution?
    Sometimes this problem can be solved by using the ftp app Cyberduck (set to UTF-8) to upload your site instead of whatever ftp app you have been using. That might be worth a try.
    If you search this forum for "einträge" (set the search for "all" and not just 90 days) you will find some other discussions of this problem.

  • IWeb blog, photo albums requires us to enter the site name on every entry?

    Every iWeb blog entry gets a heading of something like "My Site" or "Tom's Photography." This means we have to retype the name of our site +in addition to+ the actual title of every blog post.
    Does this not seem annoyingly tedious to anyone else? Did the iWeb team really screw this up, or am I missing a setting somewhere? This also happens on photo album pages; the page for every new album dragged in from iPhoto or Aperture gets a generic title of "Tom's Photography" or something. Pretty annoying. Can anyone helps?

    that's cool and everything, but someday when I have hundreds of posts and I want to change the title on the top, I will have to manually change each one. For some reason I think Apple would have thought of this. It seems like a no-brainer...?
    Still need someone to help out on this.

  • IWeb blog date problem inconsistency

    The date that appears on my iWeb blog entries is different from my computer to another person's computer. On my computer, the blog entry dates in my iWeb software appears the same as what I see when I browse the site on the internet using my Safari browser, but the dates are different when browsing the website from other computers!
    How is this possible and can it be fixed?
    My website is http://www.marcandeliana.com

    I've got this for the Finding Nemo article
    and the main page
    Are those the two areas that show June 28 for you?

  • Iweb blog to book?

    Is anything available yet to take my iweb blog entries & print them off in book form?
    I have iweb version 3.0.4

    No.  That's not an option in iWeb.  You'll have to copy and paste each page of your blog into whatever document you choose for creating the book.

  • How do I change the order of blog entries?

    How can I change the order of my blog entries? I want to add some extra items with an earlier date but iWeb won't let me drag the entries around and insists they must stay in the order of the creation date. What do I do?
    Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Chris...
    yeah, I'm probably not making myself clear... change the date on the podcast page entry. Select the entry you want to edit, then move your mouse down to the actual page that appears below. On that page, below the title, is a date. Change that. It will change the date published in the entry list above.
    Sunday, March 6, 2006
    This is the standard listing... day spelled out, Month and day number, year. iWeb has to see it in this format to make the changes above.

  • Reverse iWeb Blog Order

    I know this has already been discussed. But I have used this code in blog archives and in the blog summary on the HTML snippet and it does nothing when I publish it, the blog entries are still recent at top, old at the bottom. Can anybody PLEASE please please help me get that reversed... Here is the code I tried from another topic on this, and it does nothing.... Thanks-
    Reason being, I am using the blog template and blog entries as a very simple 'Upcoming Events' page. I just put the future date in of the event and thats the date the event it, however, the next upcoming event is put at the bottom and in the archives, I want it up top. Thanks so much
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    function reverseSummary() {
    blogSummaryWidget = parent.document.getElementsByClassName('com-apple-iweb-widget-blogSummary flowDefining')[0].widget;
    blogEntries = blogSummaryWidget.blogFeed.itemCount();
    blogSummaryWidgetID = blogSummaryWidget.instanceID;
    blogSummaryContentDiv = parent.document.getElementById(blogSummaryWidgetID + '-summary-content');
    if (blogSummaryContentDiv.childNodes.length > 0) {
    for (be=1; be<blogEntries; ++be) {
    bi = (blogEntries - 1) - be;
    blogSeparator = parent.document.getElementById(blogSummaryWidgetID + ('-separator-template$' + bi));
    blogSummaryContentDiv.appendChild(blogSeparator);
    blogEntry = parent.document.getElementById(blogSummaryWidgetID + ('-item$' + bi));
    blogSummaryContentDiv.appendChild(blogEntry);
    clearInterval(chkSummary);
    chkSummary = setInterval('reverseSummary()', 1000);
    </script>

    A blog is a diary. It's about what happened. Unless you're clair-voyant and can write in advance.
    Perhaps usng a calender would be more suited for the purpose of announcing future events.
    The script works fine.
    If I add future events and then reverse sort it, the oldest date (the past) is at the top and the future date is a the bottom.
    You can change dates by double-clicking a date :
