IWeb Blogging:  Allowing Users to Subscribe Via Email?

I just created a blog and website in iWeb. Is there a way to allow users to subscribe to my blog via email so they are notified of new blog entries over email? Currently, all I have on my website is an RSS feed.

Create a form in HTML snippet that sends info to your email or place an email link on your page where visitors send an email to you with their address and desire to subscribe. There are many form services available and you can find countless email form tutorials in Google search results. Compile the subscription email addresses into a database or Mail group and BCC or MailChimp the group your updates. Also... users can subscribe through RSS to their email.

  • Subscribe Via Email?????

    I've gotta confess that I'm a Newbie here - so don't hate.....
I just made a webpage with iWeb..... however, most of the people who would read my blog aren't computer savy either. I know many more people would subscribe if they didnt have to do a 'reader' or the rss feed stuff......
Is there a way that they could subscribe via email to my blog?
I've found a couple external sites where you could do it manually -- but it would just be so much better if they could do it right there on my blog.
Any thoughts would be wildly helpful! thank you.

I subscribe to all sorts of rss feeds in Mail. It also gives the option to deliver the updates to your inbox. Probably depends on what mail client your visitors are using, how they'll see your feed.
You could use feedburner and set up something where they get an email when you update.

  • Subscribing via email versus rss feeds

Is there anyway that friends can subscribe to my webiste and get updates via email instead of an rss feed? Many of them have been having problems with the rss feeds so I was wondering if there was a 'button' or gadget that I could put on the website that allows them to enter their email address and get updates whenever I update the site.

To do this you need a contact form and a database and then send out update emails to all your subscribers.
There are various ways to do this and some are described in the Marketing section of iWeb for Musicians.

  • Lightroom Web Gallery which Allows Users to Select and Email Their Photo Choices

    Does this exist......
A gallery option which allows users to click the photos they want, then easily email those photo numbers to a certain email address?
    Thanks!

I found the error on another thread. You can likely search for the other thread by using "Web Gallery Restore".
Apple support helped another user resolve the issue in 30 minutes on the phone. The problem is evidently due to the order in which I added the .Mac account to my iPhone vs. applying 1.01 update, vs. iLife 08 update.
The solution was to Restore my iPhone and then select NEW SETTING (not previous backup settings). Then, I setup my .Mac email address on iPhone. Then publish a new WebGallery in iPhoto 08 and ensure upload privilege is checked. Finally, sync with the Mac which enabled the WebGallery button (yea!) and restored contacts, calendar and other email accounts.
The only thing not retained was my wallpaper, usage statistics, and notes (none of these are a big deal).

  • Query to find all ORACLE Finance Users who Approve via Email Notifications.

    Hello to all,
I'm not being lazy here honest, but Ive been asked to find out which users Approve PO's (Purchase Orders) via E-Mail rather than through the Application. As far as I can see, the WF tables do not show the differentiation between those who do one or the other and so Im asking if there's anyone who knows about any other fields where this can be found out.
    Many thanks

  • Services won't allow users to authenticate via Open Directory

Greetings! I have been pulling my hair out for a long time over this and wondering if anyone has seen something similar or has anything I can try.
It's a bit confusing so I'll try to lay it out so it's not to crazy.
    *The setup:*
Leopard server hosing services including Podcast Producer, AFP, SMB and iCal
    External OpenLDAP directory server
    *The problem:*
I have setup our test Leopard server and got services all working. While this server is setup as an OD master I can authenticate and use the services without problem. However, we have an external LDAP server using OpenLDAP. If I try to authenticate with any of these users from the external ldap server they are not able to login on any service except afp!!!
    *What I've Done:*
I've setup the server trying two methods: Magic triangle and augmented records. Both seem to yield the same thing. I can see the ldap users in workgroup manager and I can even nest them into groups on the local leopard ldap server. Some other possible info:
A log entry in the Podcast producer log dealing with authentication:
[error] [client xxx.xxx.11.122] moddigestapple: Unable to authenticate for URI "/podcastproducer/workflows" from user "testuser" for realm "PodcastProducer" at location "/LDAPv3/ldap.ourschool.edu" from the directory because user's password type is not compatible with digest authentication.
If I edit /etc/smb.conf and delete the line : passdb backend = opendirectorysam guest windows users can successfully authenticate via smb.
On our old Tiger server, we had a magic triangle setup. That machine only ran SMB and AFP and it experienced the same problem with SMB and needing to delete that line.
I think these things may be related, but I'm not sure where to look next. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for any suggestions you can provide.
    Steve

I've followed the apple kb articles for enabling WIKI access and Podcast Producer access. Users can now authenticate.

  • IWeb sites - allow user account creation on your site?

    Hey,
Are you able to create a sort of a user account on your iweb site, so people who visit the site can create an account, upload a avatar, and see it everytime they visit it?
    Cheers!

You can link forum/message board. But, as far as setting up accounts within iWeb I do not know of any way to do so at this time.

  • Is it possible to change Assigned User and Priorty via email? using Exchange Connector

Hi, we don't use system centre in our network but were looking at ways to integrate a clients service desk with our own, is it possible using the exchange connector to be able to change the assigned user of a incident and/or priority with just an email?
    Many Thanks
    Gordon

It's better to create your own very custom Exchange connector to do the work like I did
    here.
    Cheers,

  • Blog entries via email?

    Hi all,
Anyone know if the new blog utility in iWeb/.mac will support adding entries via email from a handheld device such as a blackberry?

I'd done something similar long ago, sent an email to my home machine, AppleScript intercepted the email, parsed the subject line and turned on X-10 power module. It was like having Tom Bodett at home.
As for iWeb, the concept is do-able. But at the current state, iWeb is not quite scriptable. You can add a photo blog entry, but it only has images property, so you can't enter any text for it.
    Perhaps, next rev.

  • How does a user respond to an email request for group scheduling?

How does a user respond to an email request for group scheduling?
    <P>
The iPlanet Calendar Server(iCS) 2.x is a personal calendar system. As such,
messages that are sent out are "publish" type messages, where no responses are
expected. A future release of iCS will support group scheduling and will allow
users to respond to email requests by returning the emails. These email
requests will conform to the iTIP / iMIP standard, which means that they will
also work for Microsoft Exchange users and for Outlook users using Microsoft
    Exchange.

An update to what is required and what software did you "purchase" and install?  Aren't you on this forum?  There's no charge to use this forum.........
Never mind.  I just got your question.  You received an email saying CSound responded to your post.  You don't respond via the email.  You come back to the forum and respond.

  • IWeb Blog Update via email

    No

  • Can you add an RSS feed on an iweb blog that would allow visitors to receive new entries by email?

Can you add an RSS feed on an iweb blog that would allow visitors to receive new blog entries through their email?

RSS feeds don't do that - if they add the feed to an RSS reader (including Safari or FireFox) they will see new updates every time they check: but sending them emails on each added episode would require extra programming in the actual program, which iWeb doesn't provide. You would need to have a mailing list and send out an email manually each time you add an episode.

  • Report run in background, attachment needs to be sent to user via email

    Hi all,
we have a PDF solution which allows the system to send a PDF document as attachment via email to the recipient, all one needs to do is type in recipient email to a predefined PDF printer.
What i need is a similar solution but instead of PDF it has to be an Excel file attached to email.
The enduser does not have authorization to use SM36.
Searching the Web (and with help from our Basis team) i have found several ideas but not sure as it would mean coding programs and so on.
    Is there an easier way?
    regards
