Iweb crash, know why?

My iweb crashed and said the the domain was currupted. I threw it away and reinstalled iweb. It just happened again. It says unknown error and and it will not even allow me to make changes to the site or delete or anything.
Any ideas?

  • MY PODCAST CRASHED! DONT KNOW WHY!

My podcast crashed yesterday...i dont know why...it did not show the las update, so I updated the RSS Feed (validated it, it was ok!), then all the episodes appeared twice in iTunes (i had made some changes to the rss xml file, so I decided to delete the episodes and subscribe again)
Now iTunes tell me that it cant download the files, maybe they are unsupported, or something...what can I do??
    the RSS file is: http://two.fsphost.com/radiocontrol/rc/podcast.rss
if anyone can help...i'd be soooo happy! thnx!

It does help to read the tech specs, and everyone should. Had I known more about it instead of jumping in feet first and thinking iWeb will do everything correctly, I'd have realized that you need to know how to validate first before submitting to iTunes! Read that first. They do not tell you everything. However, how can they tell all when there are so many variables? (Which program are you using to upload podcasts and where?)
Yet, after reading the tech specs and still not figuring out the problem, sometimes it is just a matter of reading the discussion pages which point you in the right direction, little by little, which enables you to piece it together. Believe you me, I've learned more about redoing an rss.xml file than I care to know, but it now makes more sense. (Most of it.) Do not assume iWeb will do everything for you. It certainly does not tell you if your feed is valid. Do read about which characters you should and should not use! Keep away from & in certain areas, the apostrophe, ... (one of my favorites) and who knows what else.
And, for Heaven's sake, make sure you have the exact Title down for your link and the name of your podcast down right before submitting to iTunes!
The main things it reads are: <link> and <title> of podcast under the channel tag in the xml file!
This site: http://podcast401.com/ helped a lot! I can't find the one which talked about what an rss feed should contain. Maybe Rob can help.

  • Motion crashes at launch anyone know why please?

hello does anyone know why motion crashes on launch?

Have you tried booting up in safe mode? Hold down the shift key while booting up. If that works you might try uninstalling that new software you just installed.

    Hi,
In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
-- %systemroot% is the environment variable for your Windows directory. For example, C:\Windows.
    2. Copy any and all .DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop, create a new folder on the Desktop to put these .DMP files in, and then zip the folder. You can then either use a 3rd party tool such as 7-Zip/Winrar, or you can use Windows'
    default method of zipping folders.
Compress and uncompress files (zip files).
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUpUtilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use. With this said, if you've run such software, and your Minidump folder is empty, you will need
to allow the system to crash once again to generate a crash dump.
    3. Upload the .ZIP containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply.
Preferred sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers, download managers, etc.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel Memory Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel Memory Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel Memory Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel Memory Dump is
the best choice. Do note that Kernel Memory Dumps are much larger
in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
Upload photos and files to Onedrive.
After doing that, to learn how to share the link to the file if you are unaware, please visit the following link -
Share files and folders and change permissions and view 'Get a link'.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for
    all drives'.
    3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the
    system log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.
    Regards,
    Patrick

  • Anyone know why Adobe X & Adobe XI Crashes my shared network printer driver when printing a PDF

Anyone know why Adobe X & Adobe XI Crashes my shared network printer driver when printing on a domain, this only happens when I print a PDF.
I then have to restart the print spooler to get my printouts sent to the printer. I am using a Windows 7 32 & 64 bit environment on a domain. Users who aren't on the domain experience no issues and their printer drivers remain online and not grayed out.
When I print a PDF using Foxit Reader or Nitro PDF then all works fine, the moment I open a PDF using Adobe Reader X or XI then the shared network printer driver bombs out and I am back restarting the print spooler. If we roll back to Adobe 9 then we dont have any issues.
When you create a local printer driver all works fine, the problem is we don't encourage local printer drivers due to security.
We use Ricoh printer drivers, the MPC5501 PCL5C, driver version 1.2.0.0 with PDK version 12.65. We have also tried the PCL6 printer driver and Universal printer driver. All give the same result. The printer uses Winiprint Print processor using RAW as the default data type.
We have contacted Adobe Global Support who advised that they cannot assist with this query as this is on a Domain environment and we have to contact our IT Department.
We would really appreciate some professional help here to get a fix for this issue in order to address potential future occurance's

My apps are crashing all the time, with the error Kern Protection Failure. I want to know why and what can I do to stop crashing.
    Please help me

    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore from your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • I know why Safari crashes but what to do about it

Since Mavericks, Safari has been crashing.  I finally figured out why, but the question is whether there is a setting that can help alleviate the problem.  For some reason, when I open my bookmarks sidebar, but when I click on one of my bookmark links the bookmark sidebar does not close automatically like it used to.
What is causing crashes:  If I click on a bookmark link, and I try to sunsequently close bookmarks before the webpage has fully loaded, Safari crashes. I try to remember to wait until after I see the page load, but the fact is I shouldn't have to.  In fact, I don't know why the bookmarks sidebar stays open after I click on a specific link anyway.  I looked at settings and I cannot find a setting that will close bookmarks automatically like it used to before Mavericks.
    Bizarre.

Does anyone maybe know why the new Macbook pros don't have iWeb and how i can install it. My Macbook already came with the iLife thing, but it seems to only have iMovie, iPhoto and Garage Band. is there any way that i can install iWeb?

Apple discontinued iWeb. That's the case for over a year now.
Topics in this forum will tell you that in order to install iWeb you have to find a copy at eBay, Amazon and similar places.

  • IWeb crashes during startup

Today, while I was working with iWeb, it crashed. And now it will not launch. When I start it, the "Opening..." progress bar gets stuck at about 30% for a few min, and then crashes. Does anyone know why this would happen?
I get a crash dump every time, so if it helps, I can provide any information from it.

Log into another account and see if iWeb will launch successfully there. If it does not you may have to reinstall iWeb from the disks it came on. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iWeb" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
If iWeb runs successfully in the other account then it may be a preference file, other than iWeb's, that is interfering with iWeb. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - Make a duplicate copy of the Preferences A folder on the Desktop as a precautionary backup.
4 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
NOTE: you may have to drag the contents of the working folder to the trash and empty if moving the contents to the A folder only copies them instead of moving.
5 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here.
6 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.

P.S. Are you really running 10.5.4?

  • HT201412 My Ipad quit working - it's 2 years old.  I called Apple and they basically told me that it's done.  I can pay 249.00 to get a reburbished Ipad 1, or buy a new one.  I want to know why it died?  They mentione it could be the hard drive.

My Ipad 1 quit working after 2 years.  Was never dropped, abused, etc.  Just quit the other night.  Went to the Apple store, called the support line and they tell me that since the warranty is up I can pay 249.00 for a refurbished Ipad or buy a new one.  Not happy at all.  I want to know why it quit.  The person I talked to at Support says he doesn't know what happened.  He says it sounds like my hard drive crashed.  ANyone else have this problem?  I am so mad.

If the tech you talked to said anything about a "hard drive", he was completely ignorant or misspeaking rather badly. The iPads have no hard drive; the storage is all solid state. You may wish to talk to another technician, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there's one near you, and confirm the diagnosis of a hardware failure.
If you've confirmed that it is indeed a hardware failure, then you can pay the replacement price, find an independent iPad service shop and see if they can do a repair for less, or buy a new iPad. If it were me I would put the money toward a new, or at least newer, iPad rather than pay the replacement charge. You can get some good deals on refurbished iPad 2 and third-generation iPads from the Apple Store, any of which will run the most current versions of iOS, something which the first-gen iPad will not, and would come with a full warranty (which could be extended to two years with AppleCare).
As to why your iPad failed, it's impossible to say with any certainty. The circuitry could have had a tiny flaw that finally failed, or the iPad could have received a static shock, something quite common in many areas in the winter when the air is dry.  Sorry it happend to you, but anything can fail.

And when I look at the size of the MobileMe file, I see that the size is 0 (zero), as you can see below:

don't know the answer to ur question but the title of your post is iWeb crashes when I try to start it...just letting u know. Hope u find a solution!

  • InDesign CS6 crashing constantly - why?

Since updating to Mavericks, my daily crashes whilst using InDesign CS6 (on an iMac) have escalated to a ridiculous degree and it doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing at the time. Have Googled this issue again and again, tried a plethora of suggested fixes from a variety of official / unofficial sites, trashed any suspect fonts, trashed ID prefs repeatedly, run diagnostics, and, after using this program since InDesign CS1, I'm over it!
Every time ID crashes, I need to reset all preferences (that aren't included in the saved presets and workspaces) and this equates to about 5+ times a work-day – I'm sure others are having a similar or worse time with it – but it's a huge waste of productive time and difficult to explain (when you don't know why it's happening) to (non-creative) supervisors.
I do not understand why Adobe is so reluctant to release any suggested fixes (that don't require a PHD in IT just to comprehend) and dragging its butt on addressing this MAJOR PROBLEM. Please don't give me a page of tech-speak – I'm a designer, not a scientist – but all suggested fixes will be considered!

The first thing I would do is remove all non-adobe plugins (do you use a font manager auto-activation plugin?) and turn off your browser.
