IWeb crashed. Most recent page (mostly) lost. Suggestions?

Okay, I've searched the forum and am afraid I already know the answer, but I'll post this anyway.
On a month-old iMac (24 inch, 3.06 GHz), I was working on a page yesterday of vacation pictures. I keep pages of pictures of my daughter for out-of-town relatives, creating a new page for each month. I just started the August page and was placing 145 captioned pictures on the page. Midway through, iWeb crashed, and when the app restarted, the August page had been replaced by a generic page with three "Drag Your Photos Here" frames. An hour's worth of work had evaporated. And, no, I had not saved.
So I started again--and this time I saved frequently. I eventually added all 145 pictures and captioned each. I saved and then uploaded to MobileMe. Then I left the computer to accomplish other tasks. When I returned, I saw the message that iWeb had again crashed and when I relaunched it--in spite of my multiple saves--the page was lost and iWeb had reverted to a pre-saved condition with the same generic page described above.
I went to the Domain.sites2 file and reopened it, but my August page was lost.
I searched the discussion threads. I read the iWeb FAQ pages (http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWebBackupretrieve.html). I used extensive profanity.
The most frustrating part is that it did correctly upload to MobileMe, so my family has access to these pictures... but I don't. I want to keep adding to the August page.
I understand that I'm probably going to have to recreate the page. *But I don't want to waste 90 minutes or 2 hours of my time just to have the same thing happen a third time*.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

To help you recover for unusual situations in the future you can use Varkgirl's Automator workflow which will compress (zip) and backup the contents of your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Documents folder. You can get if from Varkgirl's iWeb Tips and Tricks site. Or Click Here to download it directly from her site.
I've created a modified version which does not zip the domain file but copies the entire iWeb folder to the Desktop. You can edit the file with Automator to change the destination of the copied folder to wherever you'd like. You can download it from Toad's Cellar .

Sound distortion in most recent episode of Lost

Hi all,
the most recent episode of Lost plays on my Apple TV with really bad sound distortion starting from 4.23 and continuing to the end.
I have a series pass so the episode downloaded onto my Apple TV. The file that has synched with my Mac plays fine in iTunes. I've changed the sync options to remove that ep of Lost from the appletv and then synched back, but it still does it. The episode is Lost s6 e6 'Sundown'. Has anyone else had this issue? I don't want to watch it on my laptop, I really need it to work on the Apple TV!

Not the best solution, but at least you'll be able to watch this episode on the Apple TV.
Either:
Switch Dolby Digital Out to Off in Apple TV's setting. The episode will then play the Stereo AAC track instead (which is fine, btw). Problem is, you'll have to switch Dolby Digital Out back on if you want surround sound back for other content.
Or:
Download an App called Subler.
Open the HD Episode of Lost in Subler.
You'll see that subler lists the video track and two audio tracks. The Digital surround track is not ticked, but this normal and is not the cause of the 'static problem'
Select the surround track and click the delete button.
Save the file and re-sync to Apple TV.
It will now play in stereo.

How can I get FF to alt+tab to the most recent page and not the oldest as it does in winxp and previous versions od FF?

Previous versions of FF cycle through pages in the order of most
recent first as in WinXP when ALT+TAB are pressed but now it seems that the oldest is opened first. I have toggled the item suggested in
ABOUT:CONFIG but this has no effect. there have been numerous
suggestions using addons etc. but surely there is a way to reverse
the order of ALT+TABBING by some other, easier, means.

You can set the Integer pref browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external to "1" on the about:config page.

When FF30 restores a session it truncates each tab's "back" history to the 10 most recent pages. What happened?

Previously FF would save all the previously visited pages up to the max specified in about:config (usually 50), but not it limits the number of "back" links to 10 + the current page. Addons like Session Manager have also been affected as any new session saved includes only the 10 most recent visited links. With FF's propensity to crash this is a major issue for me losing my browsing history.

Okay, I see now. There are some new preferences that you will need to adjust.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.max_serialize_back''' preference (default=10) and enter the desired number of pages you want to be able to go Back in a restored tab. I haven't checked the source to see whether there is a limit.
(4) Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.max_serialize_forward''' preference (default=-1) and enter the desired number of pages you want to be able to go Forward in a restored tab. I haven't checked the source to see whether there is a limit.

Loss of place in discussions- resets to most recent page

Using the forums I often browse through previous pages of discussion topics. Sometimes I will get many pages back. But when I choose to view a topic of discussion, and then go back to the topic list page I came from, the site resets my page to the section of most recent topics. Necessitating going back those many pages that I just been reviewing.
Is there a setting on the site or in Safari to allow me to stay at my place in the list of discussions when I go back from the topic? I did look for archived discussions but nothing had come up.

IWeb crashes adding photo page

iweb crashes when adding a photopage to an existing site or trying to create a new site. 'iweb quit unexpectedly while using the SFWordProcessing plugin' given in Problem Report. Adding a blank page does not crash the application. Any ideas appreciated. Arnim

It may be you're trying to use a theme that uses that font.

A website I need to get information from returns a message stating that I do not have the most recent XML parser, and suggests using IE 5.5 or newer. This, of course, I have no intention of doing. Any suggestions?

This is supposed to be an animated Help page. However, when Itry to click on it, it gives me the message:
Your browser does not seem to have the most updated XML parser.
Please use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or up for PointingTheWay features.
System Can Not Proceed any further.

IWeb crashes when selecting pages.

I upgrade to iWeb '09 from '08 yesterday, and had many problems right off the bat. My main site was riddled with missing images, including imaged from the default "Elegant" templates. I sifted though previous version of my site via Time Machine, rebuilt a few pages, and managed to restore my site, mostly.
Now I'm stuck on couple pages that crash iWeb when touched. They're not big pages, so I can rebuild them, but I can't even select them to delete. I went through the Domain.site2 package to see if there's something I can remove, but can't see anything obvious. I tried deleting the .plist file also. I've submitted the errors logs to Apple.
Any thought? Thanks.

I have the same recurring problem. It's always the same page. Deleting the preference file, restarting and fixing disk permissions, fixed it once, I think. But no more. It's just one little page. I can't select it even to delete it. Any other suggestions?

Return most recent matching record on Sub Report

I am hoping there is an easier way to go about this.
REPORT 'A': I have already made a report (which will inevitably be a subreport) that only reports the first record of each Group2 (I used a counter formula and conditional suppress.) This enabled me to have a report full of only the most recent records.
As an example, let's say this first report contains Account#, Price, and Invoice Date (again, it only reports the most recent Invoice Date and corresponding price and account # - the other records for each account are supressed).
REPORT 'B': I have another report with Account Numbers and Category Numbers.
I want to Match the Account Numbers, lookup the numbers on the original report ('A'), and return the recent Prices and Invoice Dates to the 2nd report ('B'). So that Report B has Account#, Category#, Most Recent Price, & Most Recent Invoice Date.
A subreport has been my only idea because again, I only want the most recent prices from 'A' to report on 'B'. Any help is appreciated.

If Report B is the main report then I would suggest grouping on the same field as you used in Report A for Group 1. Place the subreport, Report A, in the GH1 and link it based on the Group 1 field. The subreport will then only display data for the same group instance.
If you need to use the most recent data or price in Report B then assign those values to shared variables in the subreport and reference them in formulas in the main report in a section below where the subreport resides, GH1.

Syncing 10 Most Recent TV shows not working

I've purchased the season pass to Lost. I tell AppleTV and iTunes to sync the 10 most recent episodes of Lost to the AppleTV. My AppleTV only has the first 10 episodes of the season. I noticed my season of Venture Brothers only has 10 epsiodes I watched. It left out the 3 epsiodes I haven't watched yet. Is this normal?

That feature never worked for me in iTunes anyways. I've created smart playlists to do the trick. In the latest iTunes (7.1) I've noticed a "Mark as New" or "Mark as Not New" feature (upon ctrl-clicking). I know that iTunes is VERY finicky in that let's say you watch an entire episode, and you're like me, you don't wait til the very very end of the episode before you exit out, and stop the play of the file. The file will NOT register as "watched"...thereby effecting any smart playlists of "unplayed" etc.
It seems like you should try to "Mark as New" or "Mark as Not New", on the Lost files you're referring to, and see what happens.

Is there a setting that allows me to disable having all my most recent pages visited showing up when I open a new tab?

This is what I did, hope this helps you:

# Agree to not break anything at the prompt!
# Type "tab" in the search field at the top of the list
# Find the line that reads: browser.newtab.url
# Change the value to "about:blank"
# Close the config!

Firefox 3 used to have a drop down list under the back button for recent pages. How do I get this in FF4?

FF3 used to have a drop down list of the most recent pages that a tab had displayed under the back arrow button. FF4 does not appear to have this. How can I see history of what's been displayed in the tab say four or five pages back?

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

Crystal Reports for VS 2010 "Recent Pages" history is erased in IE 8

Hi,
         We have a reporting application developed in Asp.Net 4.0 and Crystal Reports for VS2010. When application displays a report and user tries to navigate report pages, for some reason in IE 8 the "Recent Pages" history only keeps 2 most recent pages of the report. The rest of the pages are gone from the "Recent Pages" history in IE 8.
        The "Recent Pages" history is only being erased when navigating report pages using Crystal Reports viewer for VS2010. When I navigate to other pages of the application or any other website, those pages are kept in "Recent History".
        For example if a report contains 10 pages and user goes from page 1 to page 5, only page 5 and page 4 are in "Recent Pages" history of the browser.
        When I run the application in Google Chrome the "Recent Pages" history is not erased and I can navigate to the pages using "Back" and "Forward" buttons of the browser.
When the application is using Crystal Reports for VS 2005 and .Net 2.0, multiple pages are kept in IE 8 "Recent Pages" history not just the last 2 most recently visited.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

OK. Threw a report into a web app and ran it. The only way I can reproduce the behavior is as follows:
Run a report (mine has 7 pages)
Page through to page 5
Go to recent history - I see all pages there from 1 to 5
Click on page 1
I get page 1 (but the page counter on the viewer remains as 5 of 5 )
Page through to page 7 using the forward page button of the viewer
Now I get the last 2 pages only
Is this the behavior you are seeing?

Trying to update a web site and iweb crashes every time I try an save my changes or when I try and publish to a folder on my desktop.
