IWeb crashes when I try to publish link to .pdf or .doc
I have published links to documents (pdf/doc) on my iWeb website several times in the past, using MobileMe. But now iWeb crashes when I try to do this. I'm using the "insert hyperlink" function in the inspector. I have found that I can publish a doc by dragging it onto the page. That doesn't crash the program, and it publishes just fine. But I really need to link to a pdf, and nothing I try is working (can't drag pdfs onto iWeb to make links). I have used only 1GB of my 10GB iWeb account, and my subscription is up-to-date. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
If you want to have the PDF viewable as well as downloadable on your page you can do the following:
1 - upload the pdf file to the server.
2 - create a hyperlink to the file on the server.
3 - use the Line to an External Page option in the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane.
4 - select or not the option to open the pdf in a new window.
When the link is clicked on the pdf will open in a a new window or not where it can be viewed and downloaded. This way you only have to upload the pdf file once regardless of how many times you reedit the page.

Arc Map Crashes when I try to print to a pdf
Printing to a pdf from Arc Map crashes my .mxd
Windows 7
Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - demo
ArcGIS Desktop 10
Release Version: 10.0
Service Pak 5
I recently started experiencing Arc Map crashes when printing to pdf using Acrobat 7 Pro
So I uninstalled Acrobat Pro 7
and
Installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro demo
Same result I am still crashing when I try to print
Export to pdf still works but export creates a much larger file even after the settings are dumbed down.
Adobe support will not help cause I am using a demo version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
I already removed pro7 to avoid conflict
Please help if you can.

Muse crashing when i try to publish
I'm on a Mac trying to re-publish a site as I have made changes. I recently updated Muse to CC 2014.2. The files saves and previews just fine, but when I try to publish it, it loads to 10% and then it quits. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted my computer, and even updated my OS. nothing. I need this site to be updated by tomorrow. Ideas of what's wrong?
Is it hanging or crashing? Is there any error reported? What's the progress message? Is it always the same? At 10% complete the problem is probably occurring during image optimization?
I assume exporting to a local folder has the same result?
If you select the first item in the Assets panel and then shift+click the last one, then right+click is "Optimize Assets" available in the context menu. If it is, does selecting it result in the same hang/crash? -
I have an existing .Mac iWeb published site (published with version 1 - which published reliably).
After upgrading to iWeb 1.01 every time I try to publish iWeb crashes out halfway through the publishin and closes (no error message) with an option to send Apple an error report.
I have tried deleting my preference file and reopening iWeb - same result - doesn't make a difference.
I tried reinstalling iWeb. I could publish once, then it would not publish any more (crashes out each time after).
I have reinstalled OSX 10.4.5 Combo - no change.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

OSX 10.4.5 iMac G5 20"
iMac G5 Rev C Mac OS X (10.4.5)Another couple of things to try. Theres some new updates from apple that I just saw today. Try updating your software.
Once done, run disk utility, repair disk permissions.
Once done, clear your caches in your:
Mac HD/Library folder and in your Mac HD/Users/Your account/Library folder
Trash the iWeb Plist again also from the Mac HD/Users/Your Account/Preferences folder.
Log out or restart your computer. Once back in, launch iWeb and try to publish again. -

That description is about as wide open as it gets! ;)
Troubleshooting
is often like a detective story: the more clues one has to
work with, the
more confidently one can begin the chase.
Well, my problem is that the cs3 starting to crash doesn't
really have an explanation for me. but I will put details here.

I don't have CS3 installed on Vista, so I'm afraid I can't
provide any
offhand suggestions. Since you haven't seen problems until
today, the first
thing that strikes me is: what happened with today's FLA that
was different
from your previous efforts? Did you import an unusual
external asset (even
if only unsual for you)? Maybe you imported a corrupted JPG
or PNG. Maybe
a bad font?
I did nothing with the fla that started the crash, I imported
some bitmaps and when trying to publish it, it crashed. Also, I
created another fla, imported some random jpgs 2 I believe, tried
to export it to the same folder, and cs3 crashed, saved the fla
with another name garbage.fla No fonts were used
> Hint:

Believe me, I'd be asking these "why" questions myself in
your shoes.
What you're describing doesn't sound like a well known issue,
so my hunch is
that something is awry with this particular FLA file --
something not likely
to be easily reproduced. Since you can publish when saving to
another
folder, I would run with that workaround for the time being.
After saving
to a different folder, try using File > Save and Compact,
then move the FLA
back to your original folder and try again. Or ... try File
> Save As from
the new folder, and save the copy into your original folder.
In your duplicate post, you mentioned starting a thread of
your own
(this one) but not hearing any responses. Obviously, I can
only speak for
myself in this reply, but it may be that you didn't get
responses because
your question is on the vague side. It doesn't describe a
common issue
(like, for example, "Why can't I mask dynamic text?" [answer,
"Make sure to
embed your font outlines"]).
When I read these forums, I tend to skim the subject lines
looking for
descriptive summaries. Many people post questions like "How
did they do
this?" or "Help!" or "Flash question" ... none of which
describe meaningful
topics. In my opinion, your subject line is useful, because
it briefly
summarizes your question. That's a good thing. When I read
the actual body
of your post, though, I quickly realized there wasn't enough
(for me, at
least) to give you a solid answer. In this case, I've tried
to give you a
few pointers anyway, but I'm only hazarding a few "try this"
type
suggestions.
It may be that others who read your post felt equally unable
to answer
your questions with confidence -- at least, as stated.
Well, I did some research on the internet and there is a
quite more few people having the same problem, here is the other
forum I found:

flash crash when publishing
I am sorry that I didn't post any more specifications of what
I was doing, but what I was doing was not something different or
unusual of what I have been doing for the last week at least. I was
just working with dw and flash together importing the .swf into an
html and launching the html from dw.

IMovie 09 crashes when I try to publish to iTunes
My MacBook Pro has been crashing a lot lately, mainly when it gets over heated and stuff.
But it crashes without warning whenever I try to publish an iMovie project to iTunes. It's getting really irritating especially since I'm trying to get a video finished up for family.
Any ideas? ThanksThe crash log would be a great start.
In addition to that, tells us a bit more about your Library & content.
What is your Macs Model Identifier? (Go to " About this Mac > More Info..." )
Roughly how many Events do you have?
Roughly what is the total size of the content you are trying to copy to an External Drive?
What camcorder did you use to create the events (Make / Model)?
Or what is the bulk of your video consist of (Camcorder video, Still camera video, Internet video files)? -

Part of me thinks that this doesn't actually have anything to do with mail. I had problems with Safari and Finder crashing every time I they tried to open a PDF. This was partially solved by installing Adobe Acrobat Reader and designating it as the default PDF veiwing app, but this option didn't appear when I ran Mail for the first time after installing Reader.
At this point, I've repaired the disk and repaired permissions, but that's about as much as I know how to do. I'd be grateful for any help that anyone can offer.
Thanks!

I don’t know what’s going on. I suggest reinstalling the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, unless this is the version of Mac OS X that came with your computer:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for PPC
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for Intel
Take a look at the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
Troubleshooting installation and software updates
Installing software updates
Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update (which you say you’ve already done), no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed. -
Hi, Adobe Reader XI crashes when I try to connect to a pdf online.
Hi, Can anyone help, please? Adobe reader XI crashes when I connect to a pdf online. Pre-saved ones still read correctly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader, and reset google chrome, but the problem is still there! What can I try next???
Chrome uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

IWeb crashes when I try to upload since updates on 11/12/09
I get the following error message when trying to upload my web pages to MobileMe from iWeb:
iWeb quit unexpectedly while using the SFWordProcessing plugin.
When I go to More Details, I see:
Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERNINVALIDADDRESS at 0x000000007e555de6
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
Any suggestions? Is this a plugin I can update or replace?
Thanks in advance,
SuzanneNow it says it can't find the MobileMe configuration server and to try back later so that kind of worked. However, I also got an error saying that fonts were missing so I'll have to go in and see if I can replace all the Hoefler text. There is likely a lot because I rarely replace fonts from the template pages.
In the meantime, any other suggestions will be gratefully appreciated as I have clients waiting for updates on their pages that I can't upload and it's causing me quite a bit of grief right now. -
Pages crashes when I try to print or export PDFs
Look at the title and at this: When I export PDFs, Pages crashes...but when I export Word Documents, it does not...although when I open the .doc files up, the footnote indicators are gone (the actual footnotes are still there but not the superscript numbers after the sentence...and the formatting is messed up - I have to readjust it)
PLEASE HELP...I cannot print a seven-page document I was working on and I have isolated the problems to two pages only - I can print fine with the others (no crashes with them).Hello Vaniificat,
what happens if you "print" the Pages document as a PostScript file (with the same pull-down menu where you initiate "print to PDF")? After that, open the PostScript (".ps") file with Preview and try to print from there. Ends this with the same result or can you print on this way? -
IWeb Crashes When Trying to Publish
My iWeb has been consistently crashing anytime I try to publish a site. I was hoping updated versions, would correct the problem, but that did not help.
I have repaired permissions and deleted the iWeb plist file, yet iWeb still will not publish to MobileMe. It also crashes when trying to publish to a folder.
Any ideas?Tried this solution with plist deletion and permissions repair and just the same, iWeb continues to crash on publish and, it seems, while still logging into mobileme.

give me ideas to what the problem could be but no conclusive procedure seems to be out there.
Help, anyone? -
IWeb crashes when publish to folder.
Hi,
I'm having some difficulties with iWeb when I try to publish my site to a folder. My site contains among other pages, one that is quite large (a lot of text in mulitple textboxes).
When I tell iWeb to publish to a folder (since I do not have .Mac) it starts thinking and when it's finished publishing the large file it crashes.
I'm not sure wheter the problem is the large file or something else, problem is the crashing. Have not been able to publish my site!!! Realy anoying.
Hopefully somebody got some suggestions.
Thanx Markmight be interesting to copy the "domain" file so you can restore it, delete the suspect page and try to publish that. You can copy the orginal file back if needed.
Good idea to backup that file once in a while anyway.

Updated to Adobe Muse 2014 this morning and have worked in it for the last 8 hours. Now when I try to publish the updated site to Business Catalyst for my client to preview it crashes everytime. I have tried just publishing altered files only, then tried the whole site again, and then tried publishing as a new site altogether. Thought I would then try to export as HTML in the hope of uploading the files via an FTP client and Muse crashes and locks up again. I am extremely stressed about this as I am in the last few days of of website I have been working on now with no issues since December. We are due to go live and my client needs to see it. I am desperate for an answer. It is not looking good. I am on an Apple Mac and have not had any isses publishing it for the last 6 months. Not very happy to say the least. Need desperate help.
Hi Zak, I got onto Adobe Customer Care Live Chat this morning and gave them the error message. After some trouble shooting with them it appears the older archived file of the site still publishes. I have now reverted back to the old file and copied and pasted out of the new file and from some ideas given to me by support I am now able to publish to Business Catalyst. It seems there was something corrupt within the new pages added yesterday. I have no idea if this would have still happened if I hadn't updated but I am glad it wasn't a Muse specific problem. I am loving using Muse and the support from Adobe has been excellent. Thanks everyone. By the way I do love the new version and apart from this hick up that lost me a few hours, aged me some more and gave me grey hair I really love Muse. Thanks again.
