What can i do?
Thanks for help
Iweb 3.0.3

Where are you hosting the site? MobileMe or a 3rd party server?
Publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and open you site locally with you browser. Check to see if the changes are there. If they are then the problem lies in uploading the files to the server.
If you're publishing to MMe try the following:
1 - close iWeb.
2 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
3 - go to your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
4 - reboot.
5 - launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue:
6 - move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
7 - launch iWeb, create a new test site, save and close iWeb.
8 - go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
9 - move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
10 - launch iWeb and try again.
If you're publishing to a 3rd party server and the local site shows all you changes download and use the free FTP client Cyberduck to upload the files. Many users have had good success with CD when iWeb failed to upload the files correctly.

Where are you publishing to?  Can you publish successfully to a folder on your hard drive? Have you read this webpage: Publish iWeb site using FTP. It may have a clue to where the problem is.
    A quick troubleshooting fix is
    Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
However, when you delete the preference file you probably will have to use the app described below to select and open your domain file with iWeb:
In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • Why would iWeb publish one but not all of the changes on my website?

    Hi,
I am making some minor changes to my website (created on iWeb). I had no problems on one page making a change and publishing it. But when I tried to make a change and publish another page in the same website, the changes didn't and won't seem to 'take'....
Any thoughts on what might be going on?
    Thanks!

What version of iPhoto are you running?  Try using the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option.

After I click, publish changes it shows a correct message "changes made, check live website" but when I check the live website the changes have not been made.

Please help, I have the latest version of iWeb 3.0.3

Thank you for your help. Sorry I have not been able to work on the computer I have been way to busy. But I am here now I am publishing to a third party host, and yes I believe I am using iWeb's the built in FTP client>
I published the site to a folder and in deed the file changes were all there. I guess the problem lies in the uploading the files.
    How can I fix this?

  • IWeb FTP Publish Site Changes

Whenever I publish JUST the small changes to my site, and then attempt to view the website, my site just hangs and will NEVER load. I have to go back and publish the ENTIRE site. This significantly increases my bandwidth consumption on my hosting service. I'm not overly concerned about that, but it does take a VERY long time to actually publish my site
Has anyone else had this issue and perhaps found a fix???
    thanks!!!

I guess you might change the method you are using to publish your site. Either try using an ftp program like CyberDuck with synchronization or change to the integrated ftp function inside iWeb 09.
What kind of host - Linux or Windows are you trying to publish to?

  • HT1338 Won't let me publish the changes I just made--the green arrow is dim...

I'm using iWeb to update my website and it won't let me select "publish."

If you are using iWeb 09, then all you need to do is select the website name and the list of publishing options will come up on the right hand side, so just select the one you want, but you need to select the website name before it will allow you to publish.

  • I'm using iWeb 08. When I make a change and publish to the folder on the desktop the file remains highlighted in red in iWeb. When I used to publish to Mobile Me the change would be saved and revert to blue. Anyone know what's going on?

Are you publishing the changes to the same folder on your hard drive? See this tutorial for what I'm referring to.

  • Is there a way to republish the entire website instead of just the changes made?

Okay, hopefully I can explain everything clearly here.
    I am hosted by bluehost.com
    I am on a mac.
I am using iweb version 3.04.
    Here is my website: alleycatfacepainting.com
So, I am having a problem with a particular page. After 2 hours of being online with bluehost, we discovered that when I republish in iweb, it does not seem to replace the old files in bluehost. The only way to see the changes is to delete the bluehost file and then republish. The problem is, I would have to rebuild the entire page in order for it to show up as a fully functioning page online because iweb seems to only publish the changes you make, rather than the entire page or entire website.
What I want to know is...is there a setting I can change so that my entire website gets uploaded when I publish rather than just the individual change?
Or...is there a way to trick iweb into thinking its never uploaded that website before?
    Thank you for your answers.

It is kind of strange that the files are not being overwritten. If you publish to a local folder and upload with an FTP app you should be able to set this to over write the old files.

  • Why won't iWeb publish my changes?

I have a rather involved photographic website that we just updated to include more and recent photos. When I tried to publish the changes, I got an error message. Eventually removed one of the photo-laden pages and tried publishing again, and it gave me the message that the site was published successfully. However, when I visited the site (www.stevefossimages.com) none of the changes were there. Yes, I refreshed, I shut down, rebooted, everything I could think of but none of the changes are there. Even the page I removed (Flowers) is still appearing on the site, even though it's not there in iWeb!
    Please help!

Try publishing the site to a folder on your hard drive and open the local copy with your browser to verify all changes are there.
Once you confirm that they are try uploading the site folder and files to your server with a 3rd party FTP client like the free  Cyberduck.
Many users have reported success with 3rd party FTP clients when they've had problems with iWeb's built in FTP client.

  • IWeb Error message when trying to publish site changes?

The 'publish error' says, "Can’t create the file “mwmac.png.” The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges."
No idea what this means or why I got it. I've published successyfully before. I did add a new jpeg to my file since last file but I can't imagine why that would be causing proglems. Any ideas?
I have the most up to date version of iWeb.

I have the same issue with the same error message, and this does not only happen when I am trying to publish to the internet, but also if I am trying to "publish" the changes to a folder on my mac book first. I don't have Mobile Me, and even if I did that would be defunct now anyway. This is my business & I really need to resolve this! Help!!!

  • Any way to publish only the changed files?

I'm uploading my Iweb site to my own domain using Dreamweaver, and I'm wondering if there is a way to only publish the changed files on my Iweb site?
It takes FOREVER to publish my site, and Iweb's folder structure is a complete mess so its nearly impossible to find the changes files.
    Ideas, thoughts?
    thanks,
    Brown.Recluse

    Jeff,
You are on the right track, definitely.
What I'm confused about is I guess which files I need to republish.
Remember, you have to let iWeb rewrite the entire html each time you make changes to it. That means all files, i.e., the entire site has to be republished by the application, at the very least to a folder, in order for you to have access to any of the files--most importantly, the ones you have changed/updated.
Here's the thing to understand; a lot of times, updating a site means changing only a file or two. Most of the time, the file you made changes to, (or the Page, even) will retain the same name. Regardless of what is in the file/page, it is still called up/indexed by it's name. So if you update a file/page/etc., swapping out the updated file/page involves simply exchanging the correct file(s), one with another, identified by their names.
Now let's take the example you have posted. You have correctly identified the Sites files in a typical iWeb-created folder structure. In the Blog, (which is what this site basically is--a blog updated by yourself) you should see a folder structure like this:
Now, there's a ton of stuff in a Blog. So when you update your blog, nevermind trying to parse out the files held within it; just swap out the entire Blog folder.
So in other words, let's say you just updated your Blog, and all you want to do is just upload the Blog updates without uploading the entire site. You have made the changes in iWeb (i.e., created a new Blog entry); now you need the html for these changes. File/Publish to a Folder.... Open the Site folder you published to--you will see the same file structure pictured above. Delete the Blog folder in the local file for Dreamweaver, and then drag the newly published Blog folder into it's place. As I said in my previous post, when you open the Files window in the Dreamweaver app, click the refresh button and the new Blog folder will be in place, locally, for upload. Highlight the folder and click the blue "Put" arrow (upload) button.
Your Blog updates, and only your Blog updates, will be uploaded to your server. They will overwrite the existing Blog folder on the server, with all of it's contents, and your Site/Blog is now updated.
Same thing applies for your Home page, or any page. Whatever page you make changes to, those are the Page_files and page.html that you want to exchange on the server. (The Blog.html is within the main Blog folder).

  • IWeb pages not updating correctly on .mac website.

I have changed one of my pages in iWeb. This page was a photos page. I tried to put a movie at the bottom of the page and it didn't work right. When you load up the page it looks like there to be a movie there but it doesn't play. So I decided to remove it. I removed it in iWeb and published the update to my .mac account. When I go to view it the movie is still posted on my website.
Anybody know how to fix this problem?

depending on which browser you use you will find it here:
SAFARI: Open Safari, then choose "Safari" from the silver-white bar at the top and choose to "Empty Cache..."
FIREFOX: Open FF, and then from the bar at the top choose "Extras" and then "Clear Private Files." then from the pop-up choose to to clear cache. do this twice.
