Iweb email link

I would like to set up an email me text link to an address other than a ,Mac. Is it possible to hide your email address from the sender?? Thanks.

A other good bet is to get a form. Here are some good instructions.
https://iWebfaq.com then click on the insert a form.
Or a free way is http://web.mac.com/will.englefield/iWeb/WillG4PB/Forms.html
Try everything is my suggestion.

  • Email link in iweb displays wrong link on site

I have latest iweb update and have an email link to my .mac address on the welcome page. Pretty straight forward right? Well every time I publish the site to .mac, the email link changes (in the published version) to my ISP provider's name, which I do not even have an email address with!
Example [email protected] in iweb program changes to [email protected] on the publshed website. Go see for yourself (site is still preliminary) at

    Help!.........and Thanks!

I am having the exact same problem. When I emailed a copy of my link as:
    http://web.mac.com/i2imagine/iWeb/i2imagine/Quotes%20from%20Dr.%20Cox.html
It shows as a bad link.
but i go to it in safari its:

  • Iweb 08 and email links

I've uploaded my site to dogbark and now the email link ( where you say "email me") on each page won't work. Apparently ,the email address box is coming up on the hose at an html code and not an email link. However, when I hyper linked "email me" I linked it to "email message" with my email address. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks.

Can you provide the URL for your site so we can view it first hand? Also it the email link is near the bottom make sure it's not in the footer, entirely or in part.

  • Email Link populates  the wrong name in the To space

    www.tjudisharts.com is the url
Perhaps this is beyond the scope of this forum, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
my client has 2 email names [email protected] and [email protected], they are provided by Go Daddy which is where the site is hosted. no matter which email address you use the email gets to the correct email address. on this website i have an email link in 2 places (home page and contact page), each link says [email protected], and the address it goes to is the correct address.
The problem is that in the "To" space of the email that is generated, the name shows as GalleryT, a name we are trying to phase out.
My client uses Entourage as his email program, and since I don't I don't know anything about it I don't know if the problem is there
I don't know where the problem lies, godaddy says it is in the code and I have to correct it( generally in iweb you don't change the code)...and I don't know where or how... could it be just a setting in Entourage
Any ideas of how I might proceed. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    mary

  • Email link incorrect on live website. this is new, Help!

My website has been working fine until I updated it and touched up the layout. I never changed the link for my email but since my latest upload my email link opens up an email addressed to "[email protected]" WHAT? Should be "[email protected]". My website is garisonweiland.com.
iWeb does things like this sometime. It's temperamental.
Oh, I do not use AppleMe or what ever. I'm with Blue Host and I upload with Fetch. And I have been using, with few problems, iWeb 1.1.2.
    Thanks in advance.
    Gary

I figured it out. I just had to erase the image and link and create a new one.

  • Any easier way to obfuscate email links?

I don't want email links in my web site to draw spam, so I try to make them invisible to the spammers' web spiders. So far I just use a really simple method: the Obfuscator widget which converts the text into hex codes that all browsers display properly, but that have no @ sign to draw spam. Of course spammers will eventually get smart enough to beat this, but for now it's OK.
It's a pain though that each time I make any tiny change in my web site, iWeb republishes the whole thing and I have to go into the HTML files with TextWrangler and edit all the emails. I've made it a little easier by saving a copy of the obfuscated version in a text file to paste.
Has anyone found a simple way to automate this? Is there a handy program that will scan a website folder and fix all the email links for you before you publish?

Thanks for this pointer. It looks like a really useful and flexible utility. It will be very easy to set it up for my simple edit.
I will mark the question answered once I get it working.
Of course it would be even better if iWeb had a preference to automatically obfuscate all mailto: links. That would be dead easy for them to implement, and ought to be the default.

  • Email links & counters

I think I read that if you publish to .mac, Iweb automatially links the email button with the .mac account and the counter works. If you publish to a different site, the counter doesn't work and it appears that you can't edit the email button for a different address.
First, is there a source for a free counter? I googled it but it seems like all the spammers want to give you one and I'm afraid they are going to hijack my traffic. Any comments?
Second, it seems that I have to create a text link to email and i lose the graphic and it seems I can't add a text link to the footer, where I would like it to be. Any thoughts there?
    Jeff

    Jeff:
Give StatCounter a look. It's one used by a number of users here is the iWeb forum, including myself. Offers some terrific information about those who visit your site, how long they stayed, number of pages opened, where they were from, etc.
It requires editing your site html page after publishing to put in the necessary code and then again after any republishing.
Regarding the email graphic, there's a couple of ways to do that.
1 - add the email button and then put a shape box over it. Set the opacity of the box to 1% and link it to whatever email address you want to use. Make sure the box is positioned in front of the email graphic.
2 - use a 3rd party email graphic and link it.
Not sure about the footer issue. I've been able to put links, etc. on a level with the Apple logo that gets placed at the bottom of each page if so desired.
    Do you Twango?

  • EMail Link in SWF exported from InD CS5 does not work

I'm trying to find a definitive answer on this. I have designed an interactive document in InD CS5 that has buttons and hyperlinks. When exported to SWF everything works except my e-mail hyperlink. It works fine in InDesign's preview pane. I've uploaded the file to my webserver for testing, the problem still occurs.
I found one post in another forum that quoted an Adobe InD developer stating that as of CS4 email links were not exported. However, I've not been able to find any mention of whether this works in CS5 or not.
Does anybody know for sure whether or not email links work in SWF files exported from CS5?

Sorry, no offense was intended. I had found references to problems with CS4, but nothing about CS5, and said as much in my post -- was frustrated that I had spent a long time looking and hadn't found any responses yet.
You mentioned using buttons rather than hyperlinks, and that worked for me -- but it might have just been a problem with my browser not properly reloading the flash file, too -- as I mentioned in my response.
But in any case, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUGGESTION!

  • When I try to send a webpage in Firefox (file-email link), Thunderbird crashes. If I copy & paste same link by hand, it works. Why is this?

When I try to send a web link in Firefox (file-email link), Thunderbird hangs, or I should say the email with the link hangs. The new email shows the link, I add an email address and click send, Thunderbird hangs and never completes the send. I have to copy and paste the link by hand in a new email and then it works. It seems to be an issue regarding how Firefox and Thunderbird are communicating.
My server uses IMAP. I don't have this problem with POP, but I prefer to use IMAP.
    Thanks for any help!

Is that the exact message that Outlooks gives you?
Anyway, why don't you just forward the original link to the document, instead of the PDF itself?

  • With no Firefox window open, I can't launch a new one. Or click on an email link and launch a window. This started when I upgraded to 5. Now I downgraded to 4 again and problem persists

I upgraded to Firefox 5, then noticed when a window was open I couldn't launch another one. Or launch into Firefox off an email link. Or open a new window if there was none open.
So I downgraded back to 4. Problem persists.

Uninstall the ones you know about, yes.
As regards the others, it's difficult to say. All you can do is to disable them all via Safe Mode (checkmark "Disable all add-ons", then "Make changes and restart") and then re-enable them one by one checking each time until the problem recurs. Laborious I know, but the only sound way of doing it I'm afraid.

  • When I click on an email link it opens in the email window instead of opening a new window, how to get it to open a new window instead

It's Comcast email, most links are to articles from the Wall Street Journal. Lately an email from Charles Schwab broker with a link to a pdf file has been doing the same. When I click on the link, it opens within the email frame, which is about 1/3 filled up with the toolbar, mailboxes, headings etc. If it opens with 2 bars on the right side to move down, I can see the whole article, but often it opens with only one bar on the right side which will not let me get all the way to the end of the page.
It's been happening for several weeks. I got a new computer and it's still happening. Comcast sounds like they've never heard of it. Most recently happened today. I tried the same email link with IE and it opened a new window.

Firefox sent an email to me to confirm that I had asked the above question. The email had a link to click. When I clicked it from Firefox, nothing happened. Then I opened IE, signed into Comcast, opened the email, clicked the link, and it brought me here.

  • TS3276 i am unable to open web pages from email links on my ipad

I am unable to open web pages from email links on my ipad

A few more details might help, if nobody else recognizes this.
What happens when you try to open the links?
Can you post an example of a link that doesn't work?
Is there any particular source for the mail with the (bad) links, or is mail from all sources failing?
If you happen to know it, what's the format of the mail message?  (Maybe the message is an image?)
Do the embedded links work as expected from an OS X system running Mail.app, or some system and some other other mail client?
To view the link in iOS: if you press on and hold your finger on an embedded link in most contexts, iOS will show a pop-up with the link contents, and will offer to copy it.  You can use that to acquire and post the link.  If pressing and holding on the link doesn't offer the pop-up, the format of the link itself may not be valid, or it might not really be a link.

  • Clicking email-links doesn't open "new message" window

    Hi,
When I click email links, safari doesn't take me to the "new message" window. It activates safari: the program comes on in the dock and the text next to the apple logo changes to "mail", but I don't get the "new message" window

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.
