IWeb, Fetch and Yahoo Web hosting

When I create an iWeb site and publish it to a folder, then use FETCH to upload to my yahoo website, there is a double referencing of the domain name that causes a 404 error when I try to visit the site. Any solutions?

There's no such thing as "way to go".
iWeb creates a folder with the sitename and an index.html file outside it.
Put these on the server. Or put the contents on the server and do not click the visit button or announce the site.
And if you have an RSS feed of a photoalbum subscription, then you will get the error because iWeb uses the sitename.
Follow the links for the solution I gave earlier.
You can put any number of folders on the server. There is no 'must'.

1. Does anyone use Yahoo Web Hosting for their website that they created through iWeb? If so, did you just create your site in iWeb and then convert to your Yahoo domain through FTP? Was it easy?
2. Do you have to have Mobile Me to create in iWeb and then upload/publish to Yahoo through FTP?

Apple Mail and Yahoo Web Mail won't work when iPhone Email Active

It is interesting that when I have my iPhone email active, if I try to download messages to Apple Mail on a regular computer, I get the enter password screen over and over (password is already in the system) so I never get mail. Also when I have my iPhone active I get an error message on Yahoo Web Mail. When I turn off my iPhone email, I get access to both Apple Mail and Yahoo Web Mail. I have tested this on several occasions and it always happens like this. Would like not to have to turn off my iPhone email when I go to a regular computer to access Apple Mail or Yahoo Web Mail.

Are you accessing the Yahoo email or the email on your computer as POP3?

Business catalyst and adobe web hosting in Japan

Hi ! I am new to here and confused about differences for business catalyst in Japan and United States.
I have been learning how to develop web page using Muse, Dream Weaver, HTML, etc..for trial creative cloud before I buy.
I live in Japan and I am wondering if there is much deferences between business catalyst for U.S. and Japan ( I guess Japanese version named Adobe Web Hosting)
Using Adobe Web Hosting in Japan, It is so limited that I can do in online web application menu and system is not so complicated as U.S. business catalyst.
because I am still in trial version or Is it limited like it in Japan.
What I want to do with business catalyst is just create web page and put some product in for e-commerce and start little shop however there are no menu for e-commerce or even SEO things, etc...
I may be still logging in U.S. business catalyst so I can use full servieces. but...
if anyone know Please tell me.

There is only one universal Business Catalyst.
What I think is happening here is that the site you have created is under a plan that does not include eCommerce- so what you need to do is:
Either create a new one under Web Commerce
or
Upgrade the existing one to a paid Web Commerce plan
or
Ask Support to upgrade your trial site to Web Commerce.

When clicking on an email address in a website, and Yahoo web mail is the default mail client, the TO address is prepended with the "mailto:" tag, and of course bounces. Why and what to do about it?

In a website, when an email link is clicked, the "mailto:email@address" tag is called, which opens the default mail client.
A friend has Yahoo web mail as his default mail client. When he clicks on such an email link in a website, the TO address appears in the new email form prepended with the "mailto:" tag, as in mailto:[email protected] This of course bounces.
I don't use web mail, so can't help him, but maybe you can provide a reason or a cure for this. Thank you.

Iweb 09 and other web software

I am awaiting delivery of my Iweb 09. This is ecause it allegedly ftps to any site that one owns. I had a wonderful surprise ina meeting whereing the committee wre requesting a new look website, and as they wrageld I did quick click on an 1web 08 template, put in basic title and this would go here type blocks saying "how about this?" resultant immediate kudos and the request to create the new site. "Great", I thought. Then realsied he sit eis written and maintained via Expression Web 2 ( via my VM Ware set-up) because this is an efective way to work with XML membership databases and link to ASPX. Will I be able to link to SPX file that call membership list data from I web (link is normally on the lines of {interior link} scotland.asp or {interoir link)West.asp to bring up the defined region options. The effect on the website is to bring up a list of members for the area. I don't want to reinvent the wheel, I do want some Apple style (far nicer than either DW or EW2 templates) I am hoping to publish to ftp folder and then edit this with EW2 for the extra bits. Am I being overly hopeful of Iweb 09's versatility. I am hoping it will basically be a working and standards compliant web page and basis of a DWT.
I trust I have made myself clear . It took me almost a year to manage to get tthe ASPX files show properly in SAfari and firefox - now it does it fine, don't want to break this now.

You'll need to ask the folks at Yahoo but if I had to guess, I would say you cannot. They probably have their own proprietary system to build their websites.

Do I need to embed QT movies in my iWeb site if I am using another web host

I am going to be posting my iWeb site to another web hosting service (bluehost.com). Does anybody know if I will need to embed the QuickTime movies I have on my site. Do I need to purchase QuickTime Pro to accomplish this task? How difficult is embedding the QuickTime movies to a non.Mac web hosting service?

I believe that as long as you drag and drop your QT movies into iWeb, it will embed the QT movies for you when you "publish to folder." Then all you will need to do is upload the folder to your webhost.
No need to buy QTPro unless you are trying to convert from one format to another.

Need details on how to move existing website to Dreamweaver CS6 and to Business Catalyst web hosting

Hi All,
     I need assistance with transferring an existing website - imagessays.com - (designed with Dreamweaver CS4) to my Creative Cloud CS6 account - and to web hosting by CS6 Business Catalyst.
   … step-by-step instructions would be most useful. I've got the Dreamweaver CS6 onDemand book, etc., ... I guess I’m just not enough of a geek to work my way through the steps and to get my site back moving ahead online.
    Beyond that, need advice as to how to repair a couple of non-funcitonal links on the site (check out imagessays.com to see a couple of pics that don't work). I'm looking forward to uploading more content and to do major upgrade to the site, but am unable to do so ... need technical support re how to do these simple (should be) things.
    Since setting up the website over 5 years ago, I have migrated from Dreamweaver CS3 to CS4 .... and now to CS6 ... and from a Dell XPS 450 running Windows XP to a Mac Pro desktop running Mac OS X.
These changes of version / machine / OS have separated me from the ability to do the one simple thing that I need to do with this straightforward website, that is: upload new pitchers and writins .
I look forward to assistance and support for this.

I´m very new to this so I need all help I can get. Please bare with me. I´ve just enrolled the biz spark program and I´ve outsourced a app development and website development to a vendor in India. The vendor (Manish) needs to have a server for the
API (APP development) and a web hosting for the website. Where do I start to provide all this info to him so he can continue the work? As I understand you can do it all through Microsoft Azure, is that true? If so, how shall I proceed?

Business Catalyst and external ftp hosts

Hi i have created a web site using Muse and external web host i.e.. Heart Internet. My client is wanting to be able to update photos in the gallery himself. I know using Business Catalys and in- browser editing that this is possible. My question is can i register an external host ftp into BC or does BC have to create a host for the site??

You can not host BC anywhere else other then the Adobe BC setup it has, it has its own hosting - ITs a SAAS (Software as as a solution) hosted platform. It has SFTP access if that is what your referring too?

Web Hosting

Reselling someone else's "solution" where outbound mail is allowed freely. No thanks, it will ALWAYS be a problem.
Why not invest in a few of your own VPS's or a Colo space, and resell web hosting and mail relay on that. Then you control it, and can shut it off when (not if) it becomes a problem. Or better yet, make each customer relay though a dedicated Google Apps, Office 365, or even a plain gmail account, so when it gets rate-limited, or cut-off, it's their problem to remedy and not your own.

We have been a reseller with LunarPages webhosting for many years and as I have read many complaints, people have said the support has really fell down. We continually have problems with getting blacklisted because of their shared servers as well as tons of spam mail. I understand this is a problem all over but in anyone's experience - is there something better to use as a reseller where we will not continually have these issues? Thank you.

iWeb cannot import published files so you would need rebuild the site.
Yahoo hosting is notoriously poor and their tech support is awful. I would suggest you look for new hosting and start afresh. Some pointers for choosing hosting...
