Iweb "home page" trouble/browser discrepancies

My webpage is nearing completion and I'm attempting to identify and work out the bugs. In Safari, Opera and Camino the first ordered page in iWeb loads and runs properly. Domain name of michaelblatchford.com opens www.michaelblatchford.com/intromovie.html. Once movie is finished and page clicked, the next page www.michaelblatchford.com/Welcome.html opens...
Now, in Firefox instead of the intromovie opening it always goes straight to the Welcome page. I've cleared the cache and nothing changes. Both Opera and Camino operate properly. Help!

Now, in Firefox instead of the intromovie opening it
always goes straight to the Welcome page.
Not for me it doesn't. Works fine.

    Why does my Ipod touch 4 generation keeps going back to home page when browsing in the apps store.
    I called apple 5 times today and asked me to restore it 3x the problem still exists. This problem starts to occur yesterday after upgrading to IOS6.
    Apple customer service is not good enough as they cannot fixed the problem or tell me that I can change the unit as I just bought this 2 months ago.

    Because there is a bug in iOS 6 that effects the 4G iPod touch.

  • Messages box / home page of browser

    Hi I am new to BB. Just need to ask few questions:
    1) When ever I have a message notification (be it missed call one or an sms alert),
    it becomes difficult navigating in the "Messages" box : the reason is it opens
    always in the last place where I left it. So I have to press Menu & then scroll down
    to "View Folder" (pressing "v" also helps) & then it says "Select Folder".
    Now my request is: any one knows a way that when "Messages" icon is clicked on
    the HOME screen, it staight away brings me to this "Select Folder" screen.
    2) How to change the HOME PAGE of the Browser.
    3) to extend the battery life, I read that all applications should be closed using the
    "Close" option in its Menu. To see which all applications are currently running, one
    should check on "Switch Application" - if you see application their, then it is open.
    The problem I am having is some applications (appearing in S/A mode) I was able
    to close (eg games etc), but some are not getting closed eg :messages, browser,
    bb messenger.
    Thanks in advance.

    Not, when you have a new message and you go to the message folder you can see the last place where you left, but if you press T (top) you can see the new messages. (always the new messages are in the top and you can't change this)

  • App Tabs change their 'home' page after browsing

    Hi, I have set a few App Tabs on the browser. They are set for the 'home' page for that site. I browse the site from the App Tab. When I return to that site later, again using the App Tab, it does not go back to the 'home' page of that site. It remembers the last page I browsed on. I always want the App Tab to open on the 'home' page of that site. Thanks.

    I presume "when I return to that site later" means, when Firefox is restarted:
    Firefox will remember where you were at for the app-tab in the next session, so that is explained. They are functioning correctly.
    You cannot open a link/bookmark to another site in an app-tab, but you can from the location bar or if the link or bookmark involves JavaScript. You can go to the bottom of the pile of your tabs (oldest at bottom, newest at top) by selecting the lowest tab. After doing that recheck to see if there are more lower down as you can only see 15 webpages at a time in a tab drop-down.
    There is nothing to stop you from deleting an app-tab either accidentally or on purpose.
    What I do is save all my app-tabs into a bookmark folder. Every once in while, daily at least, I wipe out all my app-tabs and do something else or simply restore all of my app-tabs but they are regular tabs. But I have the "Multiple Tab Handler" extension and I select all of the tabs I want as app-tab from the first already selected and extend selection with the Shift key to the last I want and pin those as app-tabs in one shot. A few more I will read like the weather and dismiss them. This way they are nice clean tabs with nothing else in their tab history. (you right-click on the back/forward button to see tab history)
    App-tabs are considered part of browsing history so you must save your browsing history for app-tabs to work. '''Tools > Options > Privacy''' you must have "Remember my browsing history" and in Settings where check marks mean to clear things you must leave unchecked "Browsing history". Annotated picture:

  • Iweb home page url

    Hi.
    On my website I have the word /home written after the homepage url.
    i.e www.coolexample.com/home
    Is it possible to get rid of the word home? and just have www.coolexample.com?
    I'm using fetch to upload my site.
    Many Thanks

    @mood
    iWeb is a nice tool and as far as wysiwyg software it really does the job.
    A little digging in the code it generates reveals that it uses a lot of DIV containers to lock the various graphic items into their place. The contents of these div's are stored in a seperate pagename_folder.
    So if you have a page called : demo.html then you will find all the resources of that in demo_files.
    Downside to this extra folder stuff is that you will be uploading a lot of the same files over and over.
    I have yet to find a sollution for this.
    Now to get rid of the Home issue, as I said in the first post, Publish to a local folder and then go into that folder into the HOME folder and from there upload everything you see there into the www-root of your ftp server and you should end up with http://www.yourdomain.com/demo.html
    I do agree with you that this is all not as you would expect.

  • After login close the login window and open home page in new window

    Hi guys,
    I want to go to a new window for the "home page" without browser back button etc. after login validation.
    And also close the login window at the same time.
    Here is the code I used after the login validation.
    ExtendedRenderKitService erks =Service.getRenderKitService(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(),ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    StringBuilder script = new StringBuilder();
    script.append(" params = 'width='+screen.availWidth-10;\n" +
    " params += ', height='+screen.availHeight-50;\n" +
    " params += ', top=0, left=0'\n" +
    " params += ', fullscreen=yes';\n" +
    " params += ', scrollbars=1';\n" +
    " params += ', resizable=1';\n" +
    " params += ', status=1';\n" +
    "window.close();\n" +
    " newwin=window.open('home.jspx','xxxxxxxxx', params);\n" +
    " if (window.focus) {newwin.focus()}");
    erks.addScript(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), script.toString());
    This successfully opens a new window. I want to close the current login window at the same time.
    Please help me with this.

  • Site Published,  Now How Do We Make Our Home Page Into An E-Mail  Message

    First a testimonial on why I nominate James Tseng for president.
    After months of flawless publishing, I encountered a publishing error. James Tseng instructs moving the domain file into the trash (but not emptying it) and republishing. Voila! Back to flawless performance and peace of mind.
    My iWebsite is published, PiNEcalendars.com.
    Now like all iWeb designers, the aim is To Get The Word Out announcing our website. The Next Technical Challenge is: How do we send an E-mail of our iWeb Home Page.html? Corporate advertisers are using E-mail ads, how do we send a snapshot of our Home Page as an E-mail?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    I have tried doing this several times, and can see all the graphics if I mail the page to myself. But, if I mail the page to a PC user they can't see the graphics.
    I was told to change the code to have the image source point to the folder on iDisk where the page resides, but that was not 100% reliable.
    Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong?
    Thanks!

  • Directing your home page on server

    I have a problem, so whats new...
    I uploaded my site to my server, but the site is in a folder. in order for the domain to point to a page it must be in the root folder. So I made my own welcome page and called it defualt, that links right to my home page, I guess it skips the index page. ( is the index page important?) I put the defualt page in the root folder with its repective files folder. My domian points to the defualt page but it doesnt link to the home page in the folder at the next level.
    Any way around this?

    Forget about the index.html files in each site folder. They just point to the first page of each site.
    Forget about the index.html file generated outside the folder. This is done automatically on each and every publish by iWeb.
    The index.html file outside the folders points to the first page of the first site.
    If you want a custom landing page, create it as the first page of the first site. Anyone then typing your address www.spiritually-minded.com will land on this page automatically due to the index.html file outside the site folders.
    On this custom page, you put a link to wherever you want, be it the first page of the second site (the regular iweb home page) or other parts of your site.

  • IWeb "open new page in browser" doesn't work?

    On websites I have created in iWeb, the hyperlinks to a web page will not open in a new window even though I have checked that setting in the Inspector. Previously when creating websites with html I would simply add the "blank target" code but in iWeb there is no way to edit html directly. I have tried this with Safari and with Firefox, it doesn't work!
    Message was edited by: Ironic Bliss

    Thanks for those helpful suggestions, though I have batted around different ways of trying to get iWeb to register the "open in new window" when checked, to no avail so far, and it doesn't work with any link, whether in text or combined with an image. Taking all these points:
    I have now managed to open the html using TextWrangler but I must admit it is a little beyond me to even find the string of code in question as iWeb uses so many files. It would be better if I could just get iWeb to do the work for me as it's meant to.
    Strangely, when I open the website in iWeb the first time, all the pages to the left are marked in red before I've done anything! So I cannot use that as a simple check to see if a change has been made. Also I have already tried making other changes after checking the "open in new window" box before saving.
    I always publish to a folder on my HD, as I am uploading to a server that is not me.com or mac.com. (Could that be the trouble? iWeb seems to generally be very unfriendly to publishing on other servers than Apple and I have had to jump through a lot of hoops with various things.)
    Could it be the weird folder hierarchy created by iWeb, where there is an index.html page outside of the main folder where all the stuff is kept? So far, I have just uploaded it to the server "as is", so the contents of the main folder (which has another index.html rather strangely placed outside it) are not at the root level on the server. The folder containing them is at the root level and so is the "external" index.html. Would it work if I uploaded only the contents of the folder to the root directory on the server, and not in the folder that iWeb creates or with its "dummy" index.html outside it?
    (I think in the past this has caused trouble with Google search sitemaps, and is the reason why in the end I uploaded the whole thing and not just the contents of the main folder.)
    So to be clear (not that easy here), the files on the server are:
    Directory > index.html plus the folder containing all the website files. So the actual website files are at a second level in a folder, not at the root level.
    The easiest example where the blank target doesn't work is on the home page of one of my websites. Scroll down and there is an image of a book which has a link to a bookstore. This should open a new page in the browser, but never does. (Annoyingly, in FireFox it even kills the back button, Safari works slightly better in that respect.)

  • Unable to close home page tab or unable to close firefox by closing home page tab (when if that is the only last tab remaining in the browser

    Recently I noticed that I could not close my browser by closing the last tab, which is nothing but home page tab. also noticed that when I open my browser and after opening many other tab if I want to close home page tab I could not close. If I closed it then I cant navigate or surf from that tab.
    This may be due to some add-on causing trouble.
    The problem does not arise in safe mode. Also if I group tab after closing, it is counted as tab but I cant open that particular tab.

  • Internet Explorer 7 - Trouble loading iWeb 08 Pages

    Is anyone else having trouble with iWeb 08 pages not loading properly when viewed in Internet Explorer 7?
    Everything loads fine on a Mac (Firefox 2.0) and even on a PC using Firefox but when viewing the site from IE7 it seems like pages containing photos (ie photo pages and blog entries) are having trouble loading completely. The images never appear or some images appear or some thumbnails fail to appear in the new photo gallery page.
    Solutions? Work arounds? Or is this just a bug that needs to be repaired in an upgrade?
    I love the Mac but the new iWeb and iPhoto seem a little glitchy out of the box.

    mtd,
    I tested your site on my PC with IE 7. No problems. In fact I tested load times for both Safari (Mac) and IE (PC) and they were almost identical. I compared screens side by side and they looked the same. Some of you may not have updated versions of IE. Additionally the IE browser settings can be a bit tricky. You know, it's MS so troubleshooting is a given! One suggestion is to delete all the cookies currently running in IE 7 and give it another viewing.
    I have noticed that some themes slow down both browsers. It's a matter of complexity of the theme.
