IWeb hyperlinks to my pages not all working

Hi, I have completed my website and published using my FTP Server.
Problem 1 - When publishing, just as the little "clock" is almost finished it's cycle, an error message displays saying there was a problem publishing to your FTP Server, try again later. But the pages still get published correctly.
Problem 2 - The "red" pages on iWeb do not change to "blue" after publishing.
Problem 3 - (And this is my biggest problem) The hyperlinks to other pages in the Navigation Pane work, but they do not work for my pages that I have NOT included in the Navigation Pane. For example, I have a page called "What We Offer" and on that page there is a list of hyperlinks in case the viewer wants more information, which will take them to another page on my site. But these don't work ... all I get is a blank white page saying something like "the requested URL page could not be found".
What am I doing wrong? Everything else on iWeb has worked brilliantly ... I just cannot link to these hidden pages.
My FTP service providers do not work on apple at all, so they've suggested I download FileZilla so that they can help me.
But I would like to try work this out before downloading another software.
As I said, everything else on the site works perfectly ... it's just the links to these other pages of mine.
By the way I have tried:
Moving objects foreward
Increasing spaces between hyperlinks and other text/pictures
Redoing each and every page

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?
In the meantime publish your site to a folder on your hard drive, open it with your browser and see if the links are working there. If so then there's an problem with the uploading of the files. If that's the case you should try using the free FTP client Cyberduck to upload the site files. This tutorial might be of interest: #2 - Uploading Only Those Newly Published or Edited Files When Using a 3rd Party FTP Client.
If the links don't work in the local version then you might have something overlapping the link.

It's possible that the pages you are attempting to open simply won't work with that old web browser.
If you're using Mac OS X Tiger, update to the latest version, which is 10.4.11. (You might be using that already. Your profile says you're running 10.4.1, but I bet that's just a typo.)
Then get the latest version of Safari that will run on Tiger. (And... you have that already: 4.1.3.)
You might try a more modern browser designed specifically for your current OS. That would be TenFourFox.

Multimedia touch panel buttons on Satellite A500 are not all working

Hello,
I recently purchased an A500 (PSAR9A-02J001) laptop running Windows 7 (32-bit) Home Premium. Not all the top Multimedia touch panel buttons are working. When buttons are pressed, the laptop makes a beeping sound (which is normal) but the corresponding function is not executed.
For example, the Eco button at the top doesn't switch on/off the eco and the mute button does not mute the volume.
Device manager shows all devices as working correctly.
There are no errors in the Event Viewer Application or System logs.
Please advise!

Hyperlinks to web pages don't work in Captivate 7 or 8

When I design hyperlinks to web pages work but once published they don't. How do i get hyperlinks to web pages to work in Captivate 7 or 8

I should have read that more closely.
It doesn't seem to apply. The only reason that would matter is if you were running the SWF-output from Captivate locally.
ALWAYS test your product from the web to avoid any such security issues.
But yes, if you're putting the published file on a local/network drive, then that security change will need to be applied and, yes, for every computer that accesses the file.
You definitely want to distribute from an HTTP location.
I did hope the first part of that article would help. They're not difficult to setup once you find the option. Just highlight some text and right-click to setup the hyperlink...right?

Hosting my iweb site on GoDaddy, but not everything works

I uploaded my site (built in iWeb) to GoDaddy. When I view my site via .mac, everything looks and works as it is supposed to. When I went to my website after hosting it on GoDaddy, everything looked good and worked except for 3 minor things. Here are the 3 troubles I had. Any help on how to fix them is appreciated.
1) One of my pages when clicked on says "page not found". It shows up though when I view it via .mac.
2) I have three posts on my blog page, but only 2 of them show when clicked. The other one tells me "page can't be found"
3) The search field I have on my blog page does not show up. It does who up when I view my website via .mac.

I fixed the "page not found" problem. I ended up just making a new page from scratch.
Now my only unsolved issue is the search field doesn't show up. Maybe it is only available on .Mac?!
I also noticed on my blog that the comments doesn't show either. I did set it up to allow comments. When viewed via .Mac, the comments area is there. When I view my site after publishing to GoDaddy, it doesn't show that comments are allowed. I only noticed this because a friend who visited my site told me to put a comments section on my blog and I said that I did have one. It ain't showing up, though. Anyone know if there is a fix for this?

I just did an update to 6.0 on Lion. Now when I re-open Safari after closing it by clicking the red button it re-opens to my home page, not all my previous tabs.. prior to the update it would re-open with all my previous tabs, which is what I want.

I've had what I think is the same problem since the most recent software update. I have Lion 10.7.4 and have updated to Safari 6.0. The most noticeable difference is that where previously I had two boxes at the top of the Safari window (one to enter URL addresses, one for Google searches), there is now only one box for both functions. I don't like that as well, but I can live with it. However, since the most recent software update my "back button" only works about 5% of the time. Most of the time it is grayed out. So I usually can't get back to previous pages using the back button. Also, when I've clicked a link that opens a new window (for instance, going through the return process at Amazon, I clicked UPS locator and it opened a new window), where in the past I would have just clicked the red button after I had the information, the UPS locator window would have closed, and I would have been back at Amazon - now if I close the UPS locator window, all Safari windows close. The Safari application doesn't close, but the Amazon window closes, I'm back to an empty screen, and I have to open a new Safari window and reenter everything. I'm using a work-around of clicking on History and selecting the description of the window I want to get back too, but that only works part of the time. In the Amazon example, that's what I did once I had the UPS info, but even though I clicked the correct window description, it took me back to the beginning of the return process & I had to reenter all the info. Of course, that info was easy to reenter, but if I'm in the middle of a complicated process, it's a big problem. I've filed a bug report; I surely hope the Apple engineers are able to fix this. I'm used to using the back button function a lot!

I have recently had a problem when turning my iPad on from shutdown, in that it takes at least four attempts to slide my finger across to get the home page. The screen is clean, and when I do eventually get the home page it all works perfectly. Any ideas?

I have a problem getting my IPad to start from shutdown. I get the Apple logo then when it is ready for me to slide my finger across the lower part of the screen to get the home page, it takes at least four attempts. How can it view all tab page?

The number of tabs that you can show at once is limited by the size of the canvas. If you have too many tabs, then you can set up one tab to be a 'MORE'. When the user clicks on it, it hides the current set of tabs and displays the set of tabs that were not shown. By having a MORE for each set of tabs, you can toggle between the sets of tabs. The Help documentation describes how to show and hide tabs, and how to set focus to a particular tab.

Create many pages is too slow, is there a way to format each page, not all?

i'm creating hundreds of pages of report (very complicated report)
when i using cliend/server version of oracle report, it created only the page
user is viewing, and rest is not yet formatted.
so even it has thousands of pages, since not all the pages were formatted,
performance was not an issue,
but now, using 10G, report is created using browser as html page instead
of oracle's own cliend/server thing,
if the report has thousands of pages, it is very slow since whole report is
created and it has to wait till every page is formatted before displaying the
first page.
pagestream just changed the way it's displayed but still it formatted all the
pages before displaying first page
is there any way to format pages only when it's being viewed?
or any other way to boost the performance?
now it's pretty much unacceptably slow

Themes iDVD not all working

After reinstalling everything on a drive that had to be wiped to correct a permissions disaster, now only iDVD 7 themes work. The rest of the themes that did work prior to the reinstall (5 and 6) do not now work. All it shows for the 5 and 6 themes are yellow triangles with the question mark.
The version I am is 7.2.1. I have to make some changes on an unfinished project and now I can not do it on the Lion version. I have to move the iPhoto file and the whole DVD project to the drive that has Snow Leopard which does show the themes.
Before I reinstall iDVD from iLife 11 nd not let it update from 7.1, thought I would ask.

Try using Pacifist to install the themes from the 7.0.1 updater.
The only way to obtain all of the themes, i.e. iDVD 1 - 7, is to install iDVD and the themes from an iLife 09 disk.
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Also check in iDVD's Advanced preference pane and see what's listed in the "Look for my themes in these folders" window.
You may have to reset the file path to the themes folder: HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD or User/Home/Library/Application Support/iDVD.

Trying to use Elements 9 on my iMac,but not all working.Anyone else having problems?

Just installed Elements 9 on my iMac,and find that the create package and the editing effects are not working.Tried uninstalling and re-installing several times but it does'nt make any difference.E-mailed Adobe a week ago to get advise, but as yet have had no reply. Is anyone else having this problem?

The create package should bring up templates for you create calendars, cards etc. but no templates are available.When you click ok in the templates window it crashes and sends a crash report. We have e-mailed Adobe last week for advise but as yet had no reply.
The same thing happens when you click on editing effects - none are showing and when you click ok, it crashes. I know not all Mac users have trouble with Elements, which is why its so frustrating.

COD2... console commands not all working

Hey, I didn't know where else to post this inquiry...
I am playing COD2 (Call of Duty) on my Dual G5 and have successfully completed it in almost all levels of severity. However, there are a few maps that are virtually impossible without a bit of help at certain points. So, I have initialized the in-game Console and am able to execute some commands, but not all.
If I type ~ to open console and then type "goprone" my character will do it. But if I type "giveammo" nothing happens. Both are legitimate codes. Also, as a test, I tried other commands like "giveall", "god", etc. and none of those work either.
Any ideas, anyone else see this where some commands work, and others do not?

Some laptops/tablets have a feature to lock the alt, function and ctrl keys.
Do you have another keyboard to test if the alt key is stuck, or better yet, does it work in other programs?
If it does work then it could be your preference file is corrupted and guess what key is require to reset the preference file, ctrl-alt-shift when starting photoshop.
As for the tools, they can be reset separately
In the top tool bar at far left side is an icon of the tool selected, click on it to bring up the tool dialog box. Then in the upper right hand corner of that dialog box is a small icon click on that to bring up a menu. Just choose reset tool or reset all tools.
Or right click on the tool icon in the top tool bar and rest tool and reset tools will show by them selves. (Just figured that one out - so I don't know how old that feature is)

Hyperlinks on master pages not working after distilling (InDesign CS4)

We have started using weblinks in the PDF versions of my print magazine.
As PDFs exported in InDesign are bloated, we use this workflow for creating the PDF issues:
Export print-ready PDFs of layouts in InDesign CS4 (Mac)
Combine PDFs into a single file in Acrobat 9.5.1
Crop pages and export combined PDF as PostScript file
Distill PostScript file in Distiller 9.5.1 using default "Smallest File Size" (with Page Thumbnails) setting
We hyperlink all web addresses in the body copy.
We also hyperlink the magazine's website address on the primary master page (A). All of the other master pages in the magazine are based on A-Master.
We create hyperlinks by selecting the link, using the New Hyperlink command in the Hyperlink panel, and uncheck the Shared Hyperlink option.
When we export the layouts using InDesign – either using our printer's settings or InDesign's Smallest File Size setting – the links contained on the master page work.
But these links disappear when our PostScript file is distilled into a PDF.
I know there is a bug in CS5.5 that can cause this problem. But is there any workaround or solution for this in CS4?

How do I just print one page not all of the pages in the document?

When I print the document, I usually just want to print just the first page and not having to print all of the pages which is a waste of paper.

I understand you're wanting to print particular pages of a document not the entire thing. I will certainly do my best to assist you with this.
It will depend on what program you're using, but you should see something similar to the image below allowing you to select the current page you're on, or pages 1-3 for example.
If you're still not sure, I will just need a bit more information to try and get more specific instructions.
1. What model of printer are you using?
2. Are you using Windows or Mac on your computer?
3. What program are you printing from that you'd like to select just the one page?
