IWeb is not making changes to published page.

After making changes minor changes to my webpage and hiting publish.  iWeb tells me it's published and to visit the site.  Nothing has changed!  I saved the changes made, quit iWeb and restarted, hitting publish.  Nothing changes.  I have not changed text or anything other than my schdule.  Any ideas..... it's pretty important.  Thanks.

    Hello All,
    I have seen this error message discussed in other posts on the forums here but the solution of deactivating and reactivating server publishing/infrastructure are not working for me. In fact I encountered additional errors when reactivating publishing at

    DeActive and then ReActivate Sharepoint Site Publishing Infrastructure feature at both Site And Web level Scope.
    To Deactivate at web level, Open SharePoint Site. Click on Site Actions -> Site Settings, then click on Manage site features and then Deactivate Publishing Infrastructure feature.
    Similarly you can deactivate at site level, Open SharePoint Site. Click on Site Actions -> Site Settings, then Site collection administration and then go to Site collection features. there deactivate Publishing Infrastructure feature.
    To Reactivate again the feature, follow the above steps.
    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Blogs/15338/invalid-splistitem-the-splistitem-provided-is-not-compatibl.aspx
    1.The simple thing is to try deactivate and reactive the publishing features both at site collection and site level.
    2. If the above doesn't work then proceed to below PowerShell script.
     $site = Get-SPSite "http://www.mysites/  "
    $web = $site.openweb()
     $correctId = $web.Lists["Pages"].ID $web.AllProperties["__PagesListId"] = $correctId.ToString()
    $Web.AllProperties["__PublishingFeatureActivated"]="True"
    $web.Update()
    3. The key point is PublishingFeatureActivated bag which has to be true .

  • The SPListItem provided is not compatible with a Publishing Page.

    Hi Everyone,
    I know there are a few previous resolution to this issue on TechNet.  Secifically:
    here... but i'm not convinced by the resolution of this issue.
    Basically we have exactly the same problem, but over hundreds of pages that were moved by a 3rd party.  You can see my dilemma, I dont want to have to go and recreate all the pages.
    Anyone got any new ideas about how to fix this?
    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hi,
    I understand that you get the following error message when checking in a publishing page.
    "Invalid SPListItem. The SPListItem provided is not compatible with a Publishing Page."
    This issue is typically a SharePoint Publishing feature issue on the site/site collection. You can deactivate and reactivate the feature and see how it works.
    Alternately, you can activate SP 2010 Publishing Feature using PowerShell. Check the following link for more information:
    SharePoint 2010 Publishing Feature Activation

  • IWeb is not saving changes!

    I've created a new site using iWeb 08, and have added a couple pages and a few albums to it. I used the media browser to import albums from Aperture. So far, so good, but I only get about halfway done with what I want to do before things get screwy.
    Here's the site: http://web.mac.com/rob_meyers/Jason/
    I have pictures I'm trying to add to the site for the other years. If I select and drag several albums from the media browser window to an album page in iWeb, iWeb locks up. If I drag the albums individually, I get a little further. I try to save, in that I select "Save" from the File menu. The "Saving.." message window pops up, and disappears normally. After I try to publish my changes, iWeb locks up while trying to connect to my .Mac account. I have to Force Quit iWeb, after giving it about 20 minutes to connect to my .Mac account, and watching it ignore my clicks on the Cancel button. When I restart iWeb, all of my imports, and other changes since I last published, are gone!
    Honestly, iWeb is the only reason I bought iLife 08. I use Aperture for photo management, and I'm not musically inclined nor do I create movies. It's extremely frustrating when software doesn't work right, especially if it's Apple software (which I'm normally very happy to use).
    I have all of the latest Software Updates installed.

  • IWeb won't update an already published page

    Hi, Maddening but I've made minor changes to a page in iWeb and it simple will not display in Safari as updated. I've cleared the Safari cache and reloaded the page. So I'm thinking it's safe to suppose it's not a cache issue.
    I've tried publishing the revised page alone and have tried publishing all page again.
    My wild guess is that the file is failing to overwrite the old file and instead is renaming itself as another version of the original.
    Fixes?
    Many thanks

  • I am getting I am getting nativehr 0x80070057 /nativehr nativestack /nativestack error when I change my publishing page layout in SharePoint 2010.

    Hello All,
    I am getting the following error when I tried to change the page layout of a publishing page in my site collection using SharePoint 2010.
      Here I am just trying to change the page layout to "Four Item Grid" page layout. But i am not sure why this error is coming up.
    I tried to search in the internet but no one has this kind of issue it seems.
     Can anybody help me in resolving this issue.

    I had this same problem when trying to change the layout on a publishing page.
    What I found by running some powershell script against the pages library is that the ows_PublishingPageLayout field actually referenced a layout url from another site. What had happend is that an author downloaded a copy of a page from one site and
    uploaded it to another site. Evidently when you do this the url reference to the page layout file does not get corrected (it's fully qualified)
    To fix this problem I wrote some powershell script to update the ows_PublishingPageLayout url so the site host url was corrected and did not have the old/original site's url.
        $SiteUrl = "http://your.site.url.here"
        $SPSite = New-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite($SiteUrl);
        $OpenWeb = $SpSite.OpenWeb();
        $publishingWeb = [Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.PublishingWeb]::GetPublishingWeb($OpenWeb)
        $AllPubLayouts = $publishingWeb.GetAvailablePageLayouts()
        $pages = $OpenWeb.Lists["Pages"]
       #view all page layouts
       foreach ($page in $pages.Items)
            if (!$page["ows_PublishingPageLayout"].ToString().Contains($SiteUrl))
                write-host $page.url
                write-host $page["ows_PublishingPageLayout"]

  • Snow leopard, iweb will not open the default opening page

    I pulled the .plist, restarted but still no luck. Previous pages and sites do not show up.
    New page etc are grayed out.

    Refer to the troubleshooting steps under "Fix iWeb" here....

    Note the part about repairing permissions.
    Otherwise you need to consider reinstalling iWeb.

  • IWeb NOT showing changes after publishing

    I had 2 sites I created with iweb. I made some changes on one, but not only did it not show any changes after I published it but said there was an error. I could access the site when I entered my basic domain name, but not through iweb. I deleted BOTH sites and started from scratch. Saved my work and tried publishing at least 5 different times. It STILL shows my DELETED sites (which I can't even see on my computer because I DELETED THEM!). MobileMe account is current. Domain name current.
    Anyone else having these issues? ANy idea what to do?
    Thanks

    But did you delete your site folder from MobileMe too? It's all very well deleting your site from iWeb, but if you really want to delete it and start again, you also need to delete your site folder and index file from MobileMe. Log into MobileMe and then go to your iDisk and delete the files from there too and then re-publish from iWeb and your new pages should show.

  • IWeb not saving changes when published to folder

    Hello,
    I'm very new to iWeb and to the whole web-design in general. My problem is when working in iWeb, and I save (or publish, if it isn't the same) to a folder, it goes fine the first time. But when I republish (I use republish in order to save my project) the changes I've just made i'snt there. When I go to the folder to check my website from the, I can't se changes there. That's very anoying (or how it's spelled )
    Here's what I find odd:
    ONLY when I restart my computer, the changes are there, and I can see them.
    Why is that, and what do I do?

    This may be too late to help you, I've just started to work with iWeb myself and discovered that if you go to the File Menu, you should see the option "Publish Site Changes", Click that and it will save the changes.
    I've also noticed that the pages in the list on the left are 'red' if you've made changes to them and haven't published the changes, and blue when you have published.
    (I'm also publishing to a folder for now)

  • "publish" not making changes

    I've updated the site and click "publish" but the changes to not appear. I've saved it and such...
    what should I do?
    thanks! LP

    try emptying the cache in your browser.
    Often you don't see the changes with your own computer right away because your browser is opening the previously cached files stored on your hard drive rather than retreiving the new page from the internet.
    Emptying your cache should fix this or just add a "?" to the end of the address in the address bar and hit return, this seems to force the browser to get the file from the internet rather than use the cache.
    Good luck, David

  • Links work in iWeb, but not from browser when published

    http://web.me.com/mocote
    All's well since August. Then yesterday, some links decide not to work anymore in browser. Can't create new ones either. What changed? In iWeb, all links look fine in the Inspector. You can click on all external links and file links in iWeb. Same links won't work in browser. Very frustrated. Please help.

    Hello!
    Thank you for checking my pages. I did clear the cache. Updated software. Repaired permissions. Rebooted (a million times). I also made sure I had no overlapping graphics. The problem appears to be on the pages linked from This Week (in the navigation bar), the pages are Probability and Measures of Central Tendency. The links are in Text Boxes with frames on them.
    I tried viewing the pages using Safari on my iBook, on an iMac using Safari and on a PC using Firefox. I get the same links not working. It's just odd that they appear to function "normally" in iWeb. I was hoping I did something dumb that I could fix quickly. If not, I'm having to do the pages over.
    Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • IWeb does not save changes and will not allow republishing

    I have created a new site on my iWeb which is now accessed by a separate web address. I first published a new site within this domain which worked fine. Now when I make changes and save, the blue progress bar indicates a save, but when I go to publish the green publish arrow is greyed and I cannot publish. What's worse is when I go back to the altered page, the changes are gone.
    I can republish other parts of the site (which are red and I haven't yet updated) and they update fine. But once done, there's way to republish.
    Any suggestions.

    Have you tried using the File->Publish Site Changes or File->Publish Entire Site menu options? Also try deleting the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist and rebooting.

  • Dwt not saving changes to child pages

    I created a template and subsequent child pages on my desktop.  I copied the site folder over to my laptop to work from there.  Problem was the changes I now would make to the dwt on the laptop would not take effect on the child pages when saving.  I settled with making a change just to the javascript menu which I made using Likno and just uploaded the changed files for the menu.  Today instead of just downloading from the remote in DW the changed menu files I downloaded the entire site.  Now when I make changes on the desktop to the dwt file it doesn't load the changes to the child pages.  Any idea what happened here and what I should do in the future to avoid this?

    This moving around of files from one machine to another sounds like the problem if the folder structure wasn't kept intact.
    There is no reason why the template and the child pages shouldn't work if you moved them 'correctly' to another machine...
    Did you define a Dreamweaver site when you had the files in a folder on the desktop?
    Did you define a site when you moved to the laptop.
    Defining a site is the most important step before doing any work on any files in Dreamweaver.
    When you copied the files, did you copy the folder structure exactly  as in the original folder, or did you just copy the dwt file and the child pages?
    The dwt file when created and saved -  was saved (or should have been saved) to a Templates folder in the root of the folder that holds your web files.    No other files are allowed to reside in that Templates folder.
    How did you create the child pages, by saving the template file but with a new name, or did you go FILE>New> Create from template  (selecting the dwt file that you created) ??

  • Completely frustrated with wysiwyg and font changes in published page

    H, Everyone--
    Can anyone help me? When I work in editing mode, I have
    selected font (and link) sizes and colors in the format - page
    properties menu. They are arial font, size 10, white. But when the
    page is published, the text is in a different font, and the links
    are blue.
    There is something overriding my choices, and I can't find
    what it is. I wonder if the previous web designer in our office set
    up something for the site.
    Advice greatly appreciated! I can't seem to find the answer
    to this question.

    Todd,
    That field is the font style field, not a "Paragraph" field. It just happens to be next to the button that changes the control panel to paragraph mode.
    Is the file you posted the same one you made the jpeg from, or the one where you changed that field to "regular"? I'm thinking the latter, because the paragraph shows regular when I highlight it. Also, I don't think the font in the jpeg has changed, just it is printing gibberish on that last line.
    Try this: File > Export and for type choose Interchange format (.inx). Open that file in InDesign and save again as an InDesign document. See if that prints.
    If not, I'd say it's almost certainly the driver.

  • Server does not allow changes to a pages document from one user to the next

    When one user creates a pages document and then saves that document to the server, a second user who wishes to use that document and make changes can not do so. They can find the document, open the document, and read it, but can not write to the document.
    What is the trick to create a pages document so all network users can make changes to the document?
    AZ

    I hope that the OP will not  do that because, as I already wrote several times, it's a perfect way to kill the document.
