IWeb keeps opening last project worked on

How do you make iWeb always offer you the choice to choose an existing project or start a new one at startup? It keeps opening the last project.
I have removed all domain files from the usual iWeb folder.
Thanks.

Thanks, Tom,
I was afraid of that. That means you still have to manually hide a domain file after working on it so iWeb does not open it automatically. It would have been better if it gave you the choice of starting a new one or opening an old project every time you start it up.
Or, even better, have a recent projects drop down list.
But thanks! That does answer my question.

  • How to make sure, on success action 'Open another project' works on both ipad and desktop devices

If I have a project with a open another project in a new window action set to a button in that project, will only placing the swf and htm files of the newly opened project within the published folder of the parent project be enough for allowing the parent project to be played successfully both in desktop and mobile devices like ipad? To allow this, I presume multiscreen.html file located within the published folder of the parent project is the file to be used. But, since swf files can't be played on mobile devices, do I need to place the multiscreen.html file located within the published folder of the newly opened project into the published folder location of the parent project? The parent project folder location already has multiscreen.html file specific to that project and if the multiscreen.html file of the newly opened project need to be added to the published folder location of the parent project(which also has multiscreen.html file), how do I go about doing this? Can I just rename the mulscreen.html file of the newly opened project to say something different like multiscreen1.html and add this file along with the swf and htm file into the published folder location of the parent project, so that it works for both desktop or mobile devices.

From what I'm hearing, you're probably wise to have a copy of the file in both locations.  One in the same folder as the SWF, and the other in with the HTML5 files.  What I don't know is exactly where in the HTML5 folders your file would need to be.  It might need to be at the same level as the index.html.  I haven't tested this.
You should be able to figure out the answer to a lot of your questions just by testing things out on content uploaded to a web server.  At the end of the day, if it works, it works.

  • CS6 Auto Open Last project

Having reinstalled Pr CS6, I thought that there was an option on the Welcome Screen to always open the last project - which I am unable to locate..
Could someone please tell me whether I am confused - and that it was only introduced with CC.
    Thanks.

There is a list of recent projects on the welcome screen, but not an option to always open the most recent one. The most recent project will be at the top of that list though, so it's just one click to open it from there.
If you're not seeing the recent projects list at all, it;s probably because you re-installed. I believe the File>Open Recent menu item still retains it after re-install (assuming you didn't delete your recent projects or point to a different directory on install), but I can;t say for sure because I can't re-install locally right now.

  • Stopping iMovie HD from opening a project automatically

    Hello,
Is there a way to stop iMovie HD from automatically opening the last project worked on? I work at a college and am in charge of an editing station where I don't want students accidently removing someone's project.
    -Matt

There's probably a better way to do this -- an 'official' way that relies on user permissions and such. But a 'quick and dirty' way is to lock the iMovie preference file. (In User/Library/Preferences folder, named 'com.apple.iMovie.plist'.)
iMovie HD saves the name of the most-recently opened project in that file. If the file is locked, the name isn't saved.
iMovie saves lots of other stuff there too, including the latest Ken Burns settings and all user-definable preferences. Saving them -- or not saving them -- may be good or bad, depending on the behavior you want. The user will be able to configure user settings for her current session, but the prefs won't be saved across multiple sessions.
Before locking the prefs file, it's important you configure the preferences you want as iMovie's default settings. Start by discarding the current prefs file -- while iMovie is NOT running. Then launch iMovie, create a new project (which you'll discard later), then set the user prefs to what you want. (The playback quality is important). Set any Ken Burns settings you want as the default and import an image. Save the project.
Now close the project window. The "what do you want to do now?" window will open. When you quit from this window, iMovie will save NO project as the recent project in the prefs file. Quit iMovie from this window.
In the Finder, locate the prefs file and lock it. Now the prefs you set will be the default for each user. Launching iMovie will open to the "what do you want to do now?" window.

  • Is there a way to turn off the function in Lion that re-opens the last project you worked on in a given program?

Is there a way to turn off the function in Lion that re-opens the last project you worked on in a given program?

Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.

  • Want to open another project from Quiz Results - can't get it to work.

I have been trying to get my course to open another project (an instruction slide) after the user completes a quiz and it is not working. The course always closes after the quiz results. I have set the Project End Options and the Pass or Fail options to all open another project (the instruction slide), but instead, after the user clicks 'Continue' on the quiz results page, the course always closes. What could I be missing? (Am using Captivate 5.)

Just finally getting my head above water and am able to respond and update. Yes, I was using a tool called RELOAD to update the imsmanifest file. Actually a great tool that I can recommend now that I worked out the kinks with Captivate. Please see this post for more information. http://www.caddicks.com/blog/2012/02/17/how-to-publish-a-multi-file-captivate-project-as-a -single-scorm-course/#comment-249711
Here's a quick summary of how I ended up resolving this - I can't even remember all the different options I tried until I settled on this! I never resolved the issue with launching another project from the quiz results page, but found a workaround that works even better.
The course starts with a brief introduction module. The 'Continue' button on the last slide is set to launch another project, which opens the course's 'main menu.'
The 'main menu' project has several buttons that launch appropriate sub-topic projects.
On the last slide of each of the 'sub-topic' projects has the 'Continue' button set to launch the 'main menu' again. Each of these had quiz questions, but feedback was set at the question level only - no quiz results page.
The last option on the 'main menu' project was a 'Course Completion' button - which launches a project containing the final quiz. (NOTE: This was always the only project that had the "Show score at the end of the quiz" set to display under Preferences / Quiz / Settings. After a lot of hair-pulling, I realized that it wasn't necessary to open another project to accomplish what I wanted to do, which was return the user to some basic instructions before they retook the quiz.)Here is how the last project was set up.
The first slide is a content slide with instructions for the quiz. When the user clicks the "Back" button from this slide, it will launch the 'main menu' project. 'Next' simply goes to the next slide.
    Slides 2-5 are quiz questions
Slide 6 is the quiz results slide (turned on under Preferences / Quiz / Settings). Buttons are: Review Quiz and Continue.
Slide 7 is a content slide with instructions on what to do next. This slide has a text button that I called "Retry" and under Properties / Reporting for the button the "Include in quiz" is NOT checked. The Retry button takes the user back to the first slide in the quiz.

  • Can't open my last project

    Hi there everybody.
I'm having a problem with my latest project. I can't open it because FCX keeps quitting unexpectedly after a few seconds opened.
I decided to throw both the project and its folder to the trash and after that FC works fine. When I put them back the problem comes back.
What I've done in the project in exporting all the videos needed and after transcoding I worked on the multicam angles.
Please help, I have only tomorrow to edit this video.
I'm on a Macbook Pro 2.2 ghz i7, 4gb of ram ddr3, HD is only half full.
    FC 10.0.8 OSX 10.8.3
    Thanks, Leo.

In the Finder open the project folder. Open Backups and drag the backup file to the same directory level as CurrentVersion.fcpproject. Hide the CurrentVersion file in a temp folder. Change the name of the backup to CurrentVersion.fcpproject.
Open FCP and see whether the project will open.

  • I keep getting this error message when I try to open a project?

Projects created with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Premiere Elements are not compatibe. Please use the appropriate application to open this project.
I have tryed to open old projects/start new and just keep getting this message.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the follow up. Let us go through the usual drill for users of Premiere Elements 8 (not too old from my point of view).
    1. Are you working from the 8.0.1 Update of the program? That is very important for everyday performance of the version.
    2. Do you have the automatic features of Background Rendering and AutoAnalyzer turned off. Very important since they are major grabbers of computer resources. Both are in preferences, Background Rendering in the Premiere Elements workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/General and AutoAnalyzer in the Elements Organizer workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalzyer options.
    3. Let us try flushing the preferences...the path for Windows 8 64 bit would be
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    8.0
and in the 8.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not do the job, the delete the whole 8.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs exists.
Make sure to be working from Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path.
I did not see anything in Hunt's link that cited your error message specifically. It appeared to be an overall troubleshooting article on damaged projects. I did not go down that path since you said that you are having the error message problem with new as well as old projects.
About 3 years ago, I worked with another Premiere Elements 8 user with this same error message. In that case, it spontaneous disappeared. When you get this error message, does it present with an OK or Continue button? This problem has been reported before here and with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1. In each case, the core of the problem was left undefined.
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • HELP! AE keeps crashing when i open a project!

i was working on this text animation 2 days ago. spent 7 hours on it! restarting is not an option.
now when i open the project AE keeps crashing at 96%.
on the school computers so it shouldn't have anything to do with that.
was opening from an external drive, but copied the file to the D drive and neither will open. switched computers same thing. cleared cache.
why is it doing this? how can i fix it?
how do i find a crash log? (i dont know how to do that)
it was working fine just 2 days ago:(
    opens other projects just fine

actually i fgured it out after searching the internet high and low.
i was using dynamic link, and i think maybe that was causing the problem (even though i think it shouldn't) maybe i should have had premiere open first before AE???
but i fixed it by changing the name of the folder the footage was in, and then opening the project and relinking the files.

  • Can't open my projects that I did on my laptop on my desktop without the CS6 working

I downloaded creative cloud CS6 on my laptop a year ago nearly and now have a new desktop computer we have installed the creative cloud mbbutand thecomputer came with the old CC  programs which I try to update to CS6 but everytime I go into ndesign it comes up with error.       "cannot open 'my project' because It was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC CC (9.2) you must use that version orto open the file.  to then enable it to be opened in this version, choose Save asIndesign CS4 or later, or  export to IDML "                all I am wanting to do is only use all CS6 that I'm paying for and have all and probjects open so I can work on them again  but I do not know o do what this error is telling me.

CS6 was the first version of InDesign that was available through a Creative Cloud subscription, and it is also still available by perpetual license. Creative cloud is now up to version CC 2014 (version 10), which is tow versions newer than CS6 (version 8). You can install CS6 on the new machine as part of the subscription, or if the CS6 is part of a subscription plan on the old machine you may be able to install the newer version there, depending on the OS.

I have consolidate my folders related to the video I am in the progress of working on.  Premiere elements does not follow their new location.  How do I syn them back up all at once so premiere doesn't ask me for their location when I open the project

This is the Photoshop Elements forum, not the Premiere Elements forum, located here:
    https://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere_elements
When you open the project, it should ask you where the first file is located. After you tell it where it is, it should be able to find the rest of them if they are located near the first one.  Then save the file.  If you move the files again, you will have to relink them again.
