IWeb keeps reporting missing files

Every time my wife starts working on her website with iWeb in her (non-admin) account, the program reports missing files. Mostly it's "cache-xx" files, but once I saw the png file that represents the white "Made with Mac" logo, while the logo was on all her site pages?! I work with iWeb in my (admin) account too, but never have seen this error.
She's been getting this from the beginning, since a couple of weeks. Once, I deleted her whole site (was only 6 pages) and did it over from scratch. Went well for a couple of days, then the error came back again. It looks like the entire site works good, no missing photo's or such, but she get's a heart attach each time the error pops up, since she lost an entire day's work earlier, when, after a days work, iWeb presented her with her old website again when she re-opened the program...
The website is not complex: 6 screens in standard setup. No movies, blogs or podcasts, only one out of the ordinary thing is a page with 97 photo's on it.

I get the "Missing File" errors for nearly every picture on my sites, but not all of them. I don't know what the difference is between the ones that get the error and that don't. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe some of the files were "imported" from the desktop or something (by drag/drop), but the others were selected from the iphoto via the "media" window. My only option right now seems to be to recreate the entire site! This is NOT a good option for me, and makes me very sad that I upgraded to iWeb08... seems like it wasn't ready for primetime to me!

  • Firefox 29 . Will auto update work ok without reporting missing files ?

I am getting ready to switch from IE to Chrome or Firefox. I have read numerous complaints about the Auto Update feature on Firefox. Below is a copy of one of them. How common is this problem?

Firefox has almost 1/2 billion users. Chances are there are many people will post about a problem even if it only affects a small minority or is fixed.
Possibly you are asking about the Rapid Release Cycle. I think most would agree it initially caused problems mainly with incompatible addons. That problem is largely resolved now. Corporate users deploying Firefox may also have had issues but now have the option of using a different release channel of Firefox.
Your article was apparently not attached, maybe you could provide a link to it. I would point out that discussion of Development issues is normally considered off topic on this forum. I will edit the title from
    * Is there a problem with missing files with FF auto updates?
    to
    * Firefox 29 . Will auto update work ok without reporting missing files ?
That way the question is current and we actually expect developers to be around this week answering questions about Firefox 29.

  • Data Modeler bug? - it keeps reporting missing physical model files

    Hi,
I'm having a rather serious problem with the latest data modeler, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler 3.1.4.710. It keeps losing physical model files for some reason.
I started to notice that it was not generating all the tables in my small design. After hours of struggle I found multiple error messages in the log file:
2012-12-18 10:51:20,126 [Thread-71] ERROR XMLTransformationManager - Unable to load object from XML: C:\cygwin\home\Brian\codebase\models\data\Design\rel\395D160B-C7224B8EAD05\phys\D9582E4E-2ED963CB9D32\View\seg_0\A555DB9B-8864-9C0B-DCA8-BAC5231F55C6.xml

These messages appeared every time I opened my physical model (Oracle 10g).
After deleting and recreating the physical model the problem went away for a while. But after closing and reopening the design I started to see the errors again.
    Has anyone seen something similar?
    Regards,
    Brian

    Thanks Philip!
The workaround does the trick for the tables, primary keys and unique keys.
I have just observed that table level constraints show a slightly different behaviour.
Names show up like TCC5, TCC6, etc.
Seems the same problem as previously in SQL*Modeler forgets check constraint names
Is there a workaround for that problem too ?
I already noticed that there is no parameter NameChanged for a table constraint.

  • Collections Missing Files - Is there a way to fix them all at once?

    Hello,
Due to new computer, all files has been moved to a new location.
Obviously, the collections I have can't find them now and reporting "Missing Files".
Now, I need to fix them by finding them folder by folder, and since the collections contains items from many folders, It will take hours to fix them all so I wondered if there is a way to tell Bridge about the new location of the files all at once.
I hope I managed to explain what I'm looking for.
    Thank you,
    shlomit

Which OS?  If on Windows you can find your Bridge collections list at (win 7 bridge cs6 example):
      C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6\Collections
The files in Collections folder are .filelist - text xml format.  You could copy filelists from the old system's Collections folder to the Bridge AppData Collections folder in your new system so long as all the referenced files listed in the collection filelists are in the same disks and folders on your new system.

  • HT5654 Missing files after the update

I am unable to start itunes since the latest update. I keep getting missing files pop up boxes and I have followed the directions and reinstalled - have tried both using the repair function and a the uninstall and reinstall function but nothing has fixed the problem. What do I do now?

    Hi there,
Earlier iTunes (and supporting applications) need to be completely uninstalled before you can install the new version. Here's the complete Apple info on this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Mobile device application will most likely fail to uninstall, so you would need to visit its location(s) and manually delete the files then folder(s). The location of the folders is documented in this link from Apple.
It's a pain, but it should work.

  • CS6 Installation Failed due to missing files.

I m having problem with the Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium installer now.
It keeps saying missing files. I was installing my CS6 from DVD yesterday on my new Macbook Air. then the whole laptop hanged for a good 3 hours. So i did a cold boot. After restarted my mac, i launched the Installer in the disc and it prompted the Missing file error message.
Installation Failed. Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file.
    More troubleshooting tips:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Exit all applications including startup items, virus checking and firewall software.
    3. Launch the installer and reinstall your applications.
I was not able to get pass this stage after numerous retry. Apparently the installer has already installed Bridge and some other components successfully. I tried to access the installer from the Utilities, but i met with the same error.
Would you be able to advise me how to proceed from here?  Thank you very much.

    Hi kglad,
thanks for the reply. i did try to uninstall by using Utilities > Adobe Installers >  Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium installer, when i click the icon, i get "Uninstall Failed" error, it says:
    Your uninstallation encountered errors.
    Troubleshooting tips:
    1. Restart your computer
    2. Exit all applications including startup items, virus checking and firewall software
    3. Uninstall again.
I have done all the above at least 3-4 times and also downloaded the cleaner tool, and ran it, but not items was listed for cleaning.
Any idea how i should proceed?
    Thank you.

  • Help with missing files in Elements 3

I am not a computer wizard an dI am trying to catalogue my digital photos. I have almost 2,000 photos in Photoshop elements. All the photos are in the browser and I have created folders for each holiday, wedding, graduation etc. and copied photos into them. Suddenly a lot of the photos have a red rectangle on the bottom of them with a jagged line running diagonally across them which I have now learned means that there is a missing file. I have tried to reconnect the missing file following the help program but nothing happens except the 'torch' searching for the file. I can't do anything with these photos, I can't edit them or print them of copy them to a flash drive as back up. All these photos are precious and I can still see the image in teh browser. Have I lost them?

OK I consider myself severely reprimanded!
Sorry to appear dim but all I have ever done is:
    1 open photoshop elements
    2. take the card out of my camera
    3. put it into my computer.
    4. click 'get photos'
    5.save photos to my browser
    6. create new folders as previously described.
Photoshop Elements toolbar has the camera to 'get photos' so that's what I did, I didn't put them anywhere else first and then copy them into there.
The photos in my browser and the copies in my folders all have the 'missing file' icon so I can't drag the folder one back into the browser it just keeps saying 'missing file'. Plus some photos I haven't copied to folders also show the same icon. Can I say goodbye to my photos or are they there somewhere but I just can't find them? I haven't deleted anything.

    Hi, Hugo,
In similar cases it helped to remove the GarageBand "Preferences" file from the User Library.
    Open the folder
your home folder > Library > Preferences
and move the file "com.apple.garageband.plist" to the Desktop.
Then try again to launch GarageBand.

  • Missing File Messages / iWeb adding -1 to files names

I am trying to create a website using iWeb '09 but I am have an issue with missing file messages. I created the site without an issue. Opened it up the following day and immediately received missing file messages for almost all pages on the site. iWeb appends a -1 to valid file names ex: IMG_12345 -> iWeb message = missing file IMG_12345-1. I am also receiving the missing file messages with the template images which are not being used on the website (dragged and dropped my images over template images).
I tried to delete the pages then recreate them but that didn't work either. I also deleted the com.apple.iWeb.plist file (emptied trash) then restarted, held shift while rebooting, changed template to a different template then changed it back...nothing is working.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Another thing I noticed; I have two "domain.sites2" files, one in Users >> Folder >> Application Support >> iWeb and the other is in a personal directory. They are both modified today two hours apart. I just opened and closed iWeb and the file in the application support directory shows a modification not the one in the personal directory.
The first five or so times I opened iWeb I had to acknowledge the iWeb welcome screen before it wouldn't come back. It seems that my iWeb may be corrupted and have to be reinstalled?

  • IWeb tells me there is a missing file/document (one I supposed am linked to

EVERY time I open up iWeb it bring up a screen saying there is a missing file (a document that I guess I've linked to). The problem is that I can't find the post in my blog where I'm supposedly linking to this file.
I've checked every post in my blog including what is in the archives and I can't find it. I've checked every page (there aren't many) for the website and I can't find any place where I'm linking to this supposed file. Even more frustrating I can't figure out where it thinks I'm expecting this file to be in whatever post is pointing to this file.
This missing file is NOT a program file. It has to be a document that I'm linking to. Any ideas on how to find it?

Some Firefox add-ons like DownloadHelper work in the background and wait to download a video until the video has been completely rendered on your screen, so if you try to close Firefox while such an add-on is working, you will get that message.
If you ever installed an add-on like that and then uninstalled it, you may have residual data in your Firefox profile that is telling Firefox there is still an unfinished download.
To clear all downloads, from the Firefox menu bar, open
Tools -> Clear Recent History -> Time Range
Select Everything for a time range, and only check the box below that for Browsing and Download History.
This will clear your entire history, so if you have any tabs or windows open that you wish to remember, bookmark those windows and tabs in a temporary bookmark folder before proceeding.
Please post back and mark this issue as "Solved" if it solved your issue, and if not please post back with further questions.
