IWeb keeps telling me missing file?

Recently I started using iWeb. During the build of a blog, I embedded a link to a song in a picture. I have since deleted the picture that had the link. For the life of me, I cannot get this nag to go away:

Missing File 06 Don't tread on me-3.m4a

All my photos keep comming up missing files

all my photos keep comming up with a question mark and missing file but i can not get them to reconnect

Elements keeps telling me my files are missing.

Downlaoded photos to Elements as well as my picture gallery, then I made some copies in picture gallery but then deleted them. Now when I go into elements to work on those files it tells me they are all missing. Thought I would just delete them all and start again as i still have the photos on my SD card. But I can't do that either, in fact it gives me no options at all. Help

Since the catalog database only stores information about your file, and not the file itself, if any of that information is changed outside of Elements Organizer, the connection to the file is lost. There are three ways this can happen: the file name is changed, the file location is changed, or the file has been deleted. If you need to rename, move, or delete a file, you can do so within the Elements Organizer, and then the connection is not lost.

Keeping track of missing files

I recently moved into my college dorm, and to help me out musically I got a 300GB Western Digital MyBook to keep all my tunes on. Unfortunately, I've had a couple problems with it since I've been using it, mainly when I sync up my iPod. Random songs will often come up missing in my library, and I was hoping there might be a way to easily keep track of or hunt these down, similar to the Show Duplicates feature. If not, there really should be because there's nothing quite as frustrating (at least, in iTunes) as thinking a song's playable and available to transfer only to find out that it's actually missing, and I have to go find it in the directory where all the other songs that it knows exist already have been and will always be.

I think I may have solved this issue by copying my Library files into a folder containing the Music folder on my external, just like how the file tree is setup on the internal drive, and then holding option when opening iTunes. I'm not positive that's the best solution, but it might just work.

Keeps telling me my file does not have a program associated with it and go to folder options in the control pane. Where is it located

When I try to save a file the download window keeps coming up. When I click to open the erro message says "File does not have a program associated with it for performing this function. Create an association in the folder options control panel." Where is this control panel and what kind of association do I make. Usually it was adobe but I don't have that choice

Also it could be the type of file you are downloading. Like if it was a type of text that your default word processor did not accept it would give you that message.

GB, iWeb keep searching for FCP files in their Media Browsers

I recently (as in yesterday) upgraded to iLife '06. I did this primarily to produce a podcast which would be hosted by my .mac site- using iWeb to create it. I repaired permissions, ran MacJanitor, upgraded, restarted, repaired permissions, ran MacJanitor and openened GarageBand. All was fine. I made a new podcast file, connected my microphone, ready to do a test podcast, when the following suddenly popped up:
Hitting "Stop" didn't do anything.
I waited patiently when eventually this came up:
The options were to search or cancel, but I chose cancel, because I don't need any of my videos (or at least not yet) in GarageBand. The file it is looking for above is a FCP file. It's one of FCP "Render Files" and obviously cannot be read by GarageBand. Unfortunately, after I hit cancel, I get about 7 secs of freedom before a similar message looking for the next of the render files (there are hundreds of them) pops up and then it continues on and on and on...
I don't want GarageBand to process these files, I want it to stop looking! Unfortunately, this same problem occurs with iWeb. So, the two apps I bought iLife for, I can't use. Any guidance in this area would be most appreciated.

I've just tested the rename approach (simply added an "a" after "Movies" in the folder name)
Garage Band and iWeb no longer scan the folder for "media browser" content after doing so.
It depends a bit on JC's "workflow" which way would be more appropriate. I guess simply moving the problematic FCP files to another would resolve the problem for him as far as Garage Band and iWeb go, on a permanent basis. But he may need the FCP files in the "Movies" folder for other reasons, in which case simply renaming when using Gargeband or iWeb may be quicker. It would be nice to find a more elegant answer though. I wonder if it could be a "mediabrowser" plist issue?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Erm, you should call mkdirs() on a File object that represents a directory.

I have been trying to download firefox for few days now and it keeps telling me the file is corrupt. what can i do to solve this?

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

FCPX Keeps telling me the file already exists: it doesn't

So I am trying to export "share" my video. Everytime I go to save it in the location, it says it already exists! Which it clearly doesn't, since I haven't created it yet....

Try using a different name. There may also be a permissions probably with the location.

You should first uninstall iTunes completely.
This is not an easy task!

IMovie Missing File search when launched

Hi
A while back I deleted an audio file that I was using in one of my videos in iMovie. Im not too worried about it since I think I'm done with that project anyways. The problem is that whenever I open iMovie, it keeps telling me the file is missing, but gives me no information to the effect of a) where the file was, b) what project the file was used in, and c) how to fix the problem. I honestly have no idea where that file was suppose to be located, or what project I was using it in. I have removed all of the projects that I thought it was used in, but iMovie still does the search. Does anyone know how I can remove the information from iMovie so that it no longer looks for that file?

Golden Rule No 43: never update (in your case: downgrade) in the midths of some project…
indeed, since iM5, imovie-projects no longer are open folders, but closed packages… to open such a package, you simply crtl-click and choose "show package content" from context-menu.
iMovie has a very… ehm, "fragile" file managment system… I wouldn't fumble with it manually.
two options:
* launch iM6, choose "import to timeline" in prefs, drag'n drop from folder the 300clips into iM…
* not recommended, but worth a try: open iM6 project (copy of…) with mentioned ctrl-click/package, and drag'n drop 300clips into "Media"; on next launch of project, iM should show some alert… hit accept & have a look what's happening (in iMovie2 that was a usually routine - and working…)

... i ended up with 300 clips in my external hardrives iTunes file....

iTunes too have an elaborated file management, don't fumble that too...-
why did you select your iTunes folder for storing your iM project? be careful with hitting "yes", "accept", "proceed", "just do it!!"

Missing File error when trying to install HP 5610xi using Windows 7 64 bit download

I have tried several times to download and install the software and drivers for my old 5610xi on my new computer running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. I keep getting a "missing file" message when trying to run the download, and it will not install. Can someone please help!?!?

Hi computeir, sorry to hear that you are having issues with getting your printer installed on to your computer. If you are connecting the printer to the computer with a usb cable, please remove it from the printer and the computer and set it aside. Has anyone gotten a missing file error when installing 10.5 on windows 7

I have tried to install iTunes 10.5 on my windows 7 64 bit laptop and keep getting a "missing file error" but it doesn't say what file is missing and I haven't been able to find any info to help resolve the issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, if you get this message I've read a bit further and found that you must uninstal everything that has something to do with apple. this includes the device driver. this link may help you with that. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 Once I went through the list and deleted everything (device support is a *****). I installed it again and it came up with the same error. I then clicked ok and it rolled back but automatically started installing again and it worked. I know have itunes 10.5. but know my iphone 4 wont connect to it, lol. it says i have to reinstal because the driver didn't take or something. I really want the OS update for my phone but gd this is a bit much.
