IWeb+.mac does it have an advantage ?

I want to create a couple of sites with iWeb+.mac
One is a photo gallery and another gemstone jewelry, which is also based on a lot of images.
I have a gallery on Pbase, but the overall look is pretty plain and old style, not like zenfolio for example. And I don't want to waste my time and to mess with CSS, because with today's tools it can be done with a couple of clicks.
Will I be able to create easily an attractive photo site?
Does the combination of iWeb+.mac create traffic and good ranking on Alexa and Google ?
thanks!

You can create a .Mac/MobileMe Web Gallery and hyperlink to it from your iWeb site:
http://www.apple.com/mobileme/features/gallery.html
A demo gallery is here:
http://gallery.mac.com/emily_parker
You can pseudo embed a .Mac Web Gallery into your site — here's a video tutorial briefly showing that about half-way through:
http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#iweb-design-55
You can also really embed (a page within a page) a .Mac Web Gallery into an iWeb site:

Transferring does not work, you need to install using installation files. Downloadable versions can be found at the following linked pages...

  • Mini mac does not have room to run all app or upgrade

Help please. My mini mac is telling me that I do not have enough room to upgrade or run all my apps. Can I upgrade something inside the drive and if I can, can I just go to the Apple store and have that done?
We purchased the mini mac Christmas 2008 and I have added final cut but nothing else. I do have an awful lot of photos in iphoto, would it help me to backup those onto a external drive then delete those items for more space? I'm taking about 4,000+/- photos and 253 events.

    Model Name: Mac mini
    Model Identifier: Macmini2,1

I don't know if this info will be necessary or not. I just wanted to have my bases covered.
    Thanks.

When I was working in itunes a message popped up telling me there was a problem saving the itunes library. When I attempt to upgrade I receive the message:
"Your hard disk does not have enough space. 2.8 GB is required to download and install the updates. Extra space is required for the optimization process. To free up space, remove files from your start up disk, then try again."
I have one movie in final cut and its approx 14 minutes. There are 4 unpublished movies in imovie and 2 published.
What type of firewall external harddrive do you recommend? I have 2 WD passports for storage.

  • Does Oracle8i have any advantages over Oracle9i when used with BeaLogic 6.1?

Do I have any advantages by NOT choosing the latest Oracle9i, but instead using
    more
proven Oracle8i when working with BeaLogic?
    Thank you,
    Jacob Nikom

From what I understand, I believe that the statement that BEA doesn't support
Oracle 9i applies mainly to the BEA Oracle jDriver JDBC driver. BEA does support
any JDBC 2.0 compliant driver for use with WLS so I don't think you will have any
problems with WebLogic so long as you are using Oracle's JDBC driver for 9i.
Now, there may be some additional issues with XA support with these drivers if
the problem is found to be caused by the driver itself...
    jacob nikom wrote:
What does it mean "not officially supported by BEA"?
I have read in their messages that they are going
to release their JDBC driver for Oracle9i very soon.
Does it mean that they are not going to support it?
    Regards,

Well, Oracle 9i is not offcially supported by BEA. in the case of production

  • My new mac does not have idvd11 and I can't find it in the mac app store?

I have just got a new iMac. It does not have iDVD11 on it and I can't find it in the Mac store? What is the deal?

iDVD is no longer a part of iLife and is no longer supported or distributed by Apple.

My Mac doesnt not have airplay and I have apple TV.

You have to have Mountain Lion and a qualifying mac:
    AirPlay Mirroring

    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)

  • When you purchase Pages for Mac does it have updates for life?

After purchasing Pages, does it come with updates for life?
    Pages Ver 5.2
    OSX 10.9.4

The versions on disc are different from the version on the App Store. The disc-based versions ceased with iWork '09. Later versions were only purchased and updated via the App Store. The current version is for Mavericks only. There is no earlier version available through the App Store. You can download the current version for free if you have the previous version already installed. See:
The iWork apps are free with a new iOS device since 1 SEP 2013. They are free with a new Mac since 1 OCT 2013. They are also free with the upgrade to OS X Mavericks 10.9 if you had the previous version installed when you upgraded.
As for updates being free that would depend entirely on Apple. The current version is free if you qualify as outlined above. Otherwise, you must purchase the current version.

  • HT5395 my mac does not have the iMessage app how can i get it?

I have a Mac laptop with the OS X. My friends with macs are able to sync their iMessages to their laptop and temporarily communicate through their computers instead of their phones. I cannot find this on my computer. How can I set it up?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Mavericks from the Mac App Store. If you get told that it's incompatible with the computer, you can't.

  • My Mac does not have a firewire port to hook up my Canon HD video camera.  How do I do it?

I am trying to figure out how to hook my Canon HD video camera to my MacBook Pro, but there does not seem to be a firewire port on the computer.  How do I do this?

If, as your tagline says, you have a late 2011 MacBook Pro then you do have a firewire port, it's marked with this symbol:
You may need one of these:

  • I have an external hard drive that is both Mac and Windows compatible and can no longer delete any files. I recently reformatted my Mac, does this have anything to do with it?

I've clicked on the 'get info' tab, but it says read only for all files.

You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/24481/ntfs-3g
If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
