Iweb movie can't play

Prepared a slide show in motion picture. Added music
Went to the " make movie"... then export to quicktime.
Within the Iweb screen I saw the file with the play
button. It played good within Iweb.
However, when I published it and then visited the site
under " movie" all that showed up was a large blue Q
showing the quicktime icon, but no way to launch.
Don't understand why it plays in QT but after publishing I
can't get it to play?? Help
Thanks much

If you're using iMovie and exporting to iWeb, there's a small problem with the way it creates the QuickTime movie that does not allow you to see it while it downloads. If it's a large download, then you'll see that blue Q until it's completely downloaded.
If you instead export to QuickTime and choose Web in those settings, it will be created properly. Then, if you manually place this video into iWeb it will allow you to see the video WHILE it's downloading.

  • I am getting the error "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP" when attempting to play a HD movie from iTunes to my TV.  The TV is a Samsung UN46B7000WF w/resolution 1080p

    Hello Apple Community,
I am getting the message "THis movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."  This is the first time I have tried to watch a HD movie that I bought from iTunes from my iMac to my TV.  (This is also the first attempt to go from my iMac to my TV.)  I have a Samsung LED tv that says it is HDCP compatible with Full HD (1080p) and Native resolution is 1920X1080.  I bought a Rocketfish Thunderbolt to/Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter (says support is up to 1920X1200 video resolution) and Mediabridge ULTRA Series HDMI Cable (35 Feet) - High-Speed Supports Ethernet, 3D and Audio Return category 2 certified (supports resolution up to 4K including 1440p, 1080p, 1080i and lower).
I can get the iMac to display on my TV but am guessing that I have not managed the settings correctly in Display for either the iMac or the TV.  In addition, I do not have sound yet.  Although, the card from Mediabridge says that I need to update my drivers.  Any help/advice with the settings for iMac to TV to watch in HD and adding HDMI drivers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Sincerely,
    Lisa

    Hello All,
I have figured out the sound issue: System Preferences>Sound and choose the TV for output.

What to do?? - I just updated my iTunes to ver 11.2.1 because of the annoying messages they keep sending out.
Now I can't play the movies and TV series I've purchased and were watchable before.
Comes up with "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."
The cheek of the matter is everytime I tried to get Apple support it comes up with a request for me to pay $54 for their support package, to fix a problem I didn't have until I complied to one of their update requests.
End of Rant!!! - Anyone know how to fix please?

Well, I wonder about all the responses...:)
Anyhow, I wound up "fixing" the problem by using the System Restore disks for the Mini. It's now running Tiger 10.4.11 (with all updates) and I copied my iTunes library over. It all works now. <shrug> I have no idea what the problem was, and I'm a bit leery of upgrading it to Leopard, so I think I'll just leave well enough alone.

  • IWeb movie format to play on both Windows and Mac?

A friend of mine said that they couldn't view the movie I uploaded.
I have Virtual PC 7, and also couldn't view it.
I installed Quicktime on the Virtual PC and though I could now download and play the movie, (with audio that went in and out), it still wouldn't play on my site in Explorer's browser window.
In the Explorer browser on my site, Quicktime started to load, and then the big blue Q logo faded to light blue with a grey question mark in the middle.
I am looking for a format that I can post my movie in that will be viewable in the browser by both Windows and Mac.
I haven't tested mpeg-4 yet although I've read that it is compatible because I can't get a version that even looks decent before I upload.
    Are there any other options?
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

Also, strangely, (there are two movies on my iWeb
site on two pages), one of them shows the QT window
with the first frame already visible, the other one
has the Q blue logo, and doesn't display a frame
    until the whole movie loads.
This may be a difference in the way you encoded the movies. For quick and dirty (and not too involved) preparation of video clips for the web, I really enjoy using a little program that Kyn Drake recommended to me called iSquint ( http://www.isquint.org ). All you do is drag and drop your movie files to the window, then select the quality setting, and then click GO.
The movie formats that iSquint puts out have all worked great in iWeb....no waiting for the whole movie to download, always shows a frame of the movie while downloading, and easy MPEG-4 conversion (you can also use H.264 if you want).

  • MPG movies, can they play on an iPhone???

I have several movies that are in MPG format. I cannot load these onto my iPhone. Do they have to be in a different format? What formats actually will play on the iPhone. Is there a way to convert mpg files to a compatible format?

If you can load them into itunes, then you can highlight them and click on advanced at the top of itunes.
Then choose convert selection to ipod.

  • Why would my late 2012 MacBook Air suddenly tell me "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)" every time I try to play a film, or TV file?

8GB late 2012 MacBook Air 512GB SSD with iTunes for Mac 12.1.0.50. Yosomite 10.10.2
This happens on movies and TV titles that have happily run before.

    It is everything.
Downloading again doesn't seem to work. I deleted all my films and then just re-downloaded Pixar's 5 minute short film Boundin', but the error message popped up as soon as I pressed play.
The only thing I can think of is that last couple of times I ran Disk Utility a new error appeared that I haven't seen before. I have added a link to a screenshot of the Disk Utility report and it refers to "displaypolicyd should be should be 0, group is 244". It says it has been fixed, but the error still persists each time. This may be a red herring, but I can't help thinking that it is something to do with the problem.

  • HT204382 why movies can't play from my external drive with quickplay

please let me know why i need a code for quickplay

Restart, holding down the OPTION key until the icons start showing up on the screen. When the spinning gear stops, select the internal HD, and click arrow underneath. That should boot the machine with the internal HD. From there you can run Disk Utility on the USB HD. By the way, your English is fine.

  • HDCP error: can't play iTunes movies or netflix with yosemite

I get this error message: This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).
The movies won't play through Quicktime either.
I get a similar error from Netflix and I've tried switching to Silverlight which work for a couple weeks but now it won't work again.
I do not have my computer connected to any other device or second screen.

I have called Apple twice and they could not find a solution.  I hoped it would be resolved when the first update (10.10.1) came out...but nothing has changed.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • ITunes Error: Cannot play bought iTunes movie from one day to the other "The selected movie won't play on your display."

    Hi,
just a few weeks ago I watched on my new iMac 5k Retina a long-ago-downloaded movie (iTunes content, HD, Billy Joel. Live at Shea Stadium). I had no issues watching it on the new wonderful display just a few weeks ago!
Today I wanted to resume the video and got the error "The selected movie won’t play on your display. This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).".
Actually the movie plays for a few seconds and then the movie window gets black and the error message appears. Restarting iTunes does not help. Restarting the Mac also not.
    How can this be fixed?
Additionally I get since I moved from my old iMac to the new one the iTunes error "Do you want the application “iTunes.app” to accept incoming network connections?" every time I start iTunes.

  • TS1717 iTunes movie rental stops playing on ipad

iTunes movie rental keeps freezing at same point in rental is there anything I can do?

I have the same problem. At first I got this message:
This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).
I have a brand new macbook pro 15" with a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 and 8GB of ram. I have purchased numerous TV episodes in both HD & SD and have no issues. i rented this movie yesterday and could only play it via my Apple TV. I haven't installed the latest OS update but my itunes is up to date and like I mentioned I can play everything else.
I just tried again after changing the setting to switch displays to save power. Now every time I try to play the movie it asks me to authorize my computer, then tells me its already authozied, then gives me a black screen in play mode with no movement on the play indicator.

  • ITunes HD Movies No Longer play

I have a 30" Cinema Display connected to a Mac Pro (Early 2008).  Today I replaced the original nVidea card that came with the system with an ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Card.
The HD movies that I've purchased from iTunes no longer play.  I get an "The selected movie won't play on your display." error with the following comment
"This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."
This ticks me off as I have been playing HD movies for years.  I had purchased the card in order to replace the 30" Cinema Display later this year as it has developed a fault that shows up as a red or green vertical line that is noticeable when the monitor is first turned on.  It will disappear after being used for a while. It seems to disappear more quickly with the new ATI Radeon HD 5770.
Is there a way to get iTunes HD movies to play in my current configuration?

I restored my nVidia 8800GT graphics card and was able to watch the HD content purchased from iTunes, again.  So, it should be able to do the same.
If your plan is to install both video cards on your system, there might be a problem.  If iTunes senses that there is a video card that implements the HD encryption standard, it will restrict HD output to that video card.

  • Upgraded Mac Pro, now purchased iTunes HD movies won't play

I just upgraded my Mac Pro (2006) to a Mac Pro (2008) so it would be a little faster, be Mountain Lion compliant, etc.  The new Mac Pro has an ATI Radeon HD 5770 and I am continuing to use my 30" Cinema display.
Now when I try to watch a purchased iTunes movie or TV show that I had previously purchased on my old Mac Pro, I get the "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)" message.  When I look at the show listing in iTunes, thay have the joint HD-SD emblem, so they should be able to be played in the lower resolution, correct?
I can't believe that with all of the apple products and media I have purchased, everything 100% apple, I am no longer able to watch apple movies!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • HT1338 my tv shows and movies won't play on my MacBook Pro display due to HDCP

As of today, I cannot play my movies or televison shows on my MacBook Pro. They have always played before and my software is up to date. The dialogue box shows "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."

    Hi, bgrieb.
Thank you for visitng Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like these shows are in a HD format and are not supported on the iPhone 3gs.  I would recommend downloading the SD version of these shows and then sync these to your device.
