IWeb not allowing blog comments!

Now all of a sudden nobody can add comments to my blog pages? And as usual you cant reach anybody at Apple to support this software, nor the .me/.mac, without dropping hundreds of dollars in support fees.
FWIW, I have been a Mac User since 1987 and I have to say that Im really disappointed in all of the bugs in just about every release Apple puts out, not to mention, the distance that Apple is putting between itself and the customer.
Congratulations Apple you always wanted to be as big as Microsoft, but make that a big looser. After 20 years you have succeeded in driving away your customer base by hiding behind a wall, and ignoring your loyal ardent fans and advocates.
Fix these bugs!

Hope I'm in the right "corner" of the forum now . Since change from iWeb to MobileMe I also have some problems with comments in my blog: First of all I don't receive any notifications when comments were written into my blog. I don't see them, only if I look at my blog-webpage as a "ordinary visitor" I can see them. Yesterday evening, I was still able to comment on them through the web. Now I have created some new entries in my blog yesterday and saw now that I had a comment (still not appearing in iWeb but on the website). When I was trying to read it I was asked to enter my .mac-ID and password (a small lock appearing next to the entry and the comment-box). Is there anyone experiencing the same problems? Have I done anything wrong?

anyone figure why my imported fonts which could be used by older version, now cannot be read with new version for my blog? If this is the situation, I will revert back to older version.... any body know? no genius, procare knew why.

For the second issue, if a mailing list has the "maildeferprocessing" attribute set to "yes" then the email will be accepted (without checking the allowed/disallowed recipients) and processed 'offline'. If the email is rejected during this processing then a bounce email is created.
As of Messaging Server 6.3 you can set mailDeferProcessing to "After_Auth" to cause group validation to be done immediately but group expansion to be deferred.
Setting mailDeferProcess to "no" causes the group expansion and validation to be performed before the email is accepted. The downside to this is that for a large mailing list that take a long time to expand, the email client could time out and the email not accepted.

IWeb not allowing me up update my site

i've just updated my site on iWeb. when i click "publish site" it asks me to login to mobileme but i'm already logged in and my account has been transferred to icloud.
the publishing page shows that my idisk is full but my mobile me shows that i have more than 21 gb availabe.
is this a mobile me vs. icloud issue and iweb hasn't been updated?
i'm on iweb 3.0.4
on 10.7.2

If you're finding issues with iWeb (not related to publishning to MobileMe) try the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.

IWeb not updating blog site

I am trying to update my blog but even tho iWeb on my computer shows the change, the archive on the web site also shows the change, the home page does not. Does anyone have any ideas for why this doesn't work? My blog page is:

I see it all fine. You must have fixed it or....
Maybe what you had was a cache problem. Since your pages weren't cached in my browser I saw it fine. But the old pages were most likely cached in your browser. After you update....clear the cache in Safari. Another method is to add a question mark at the end of the url address. That forces it to clear. Also over time it will natually update......so after awhile you will see the changes w/o clearing the cache.

Iweb not allowing me to go to all of my pages on my wed site

I have created a site and I cannot move from page to page. It will only allow me to see the Welcome page when I visit. Also the photos on the Photo page were doing the slide show and now it will not.

Hi, when creating your site you need to make sure that each page is included in the navigation menu.
Do this by highlighting each page in the sidebar and then selecting "Page Inspector" in the inspector window. The "Include Page in Navigation Menu" needs to be checked.

Iweb'09 blog comments and google analytics

My apologies if this has been asked before.
My blog no longer allows comments. This occurred when I used the Automator program to add google analytics to my site. The good news is that google analytics does work. I host the site on mobile me so I have 2 questions
(1) Is there a way to get google analytics to work and allow blog comments within a moble me hosted site?
if not, how can I remove google analytics to restore the blog comment capability and is there a monitoring package available within the mobile me world?

I had the same problem. From the little research I've done it appears that you can't have the comments on and run GA at the same time. I have seen some messages on here that claimed to move a picture on the pages that had comments in order to restore the ones that were lost. I didn't have any luck with it.

There are other things that need your attention regarding modified prefs that show in your system details list.
Reset the general.useragent.compatMode.firefox to false and all network.http prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.

Blog comments not working

Hi anyone having problems with their blog comments ?
i cannot post any comment onto the blog page not on my own page or on the page of my girlfriend.
as she is currently for 3 months in africa it's a big problem bye bye communication...
anybody any idea's ? it seems the pop up windows where you write the comment isn't functioning correctly there are some pictures missing the text is all there but if you write a comment and click on the add comment text it doesn't work.
Strange thing as it was working fine yesterday. and it hasn't been updates since then...
anyone an idea or some help on the issue ?

I just got really, really nasty with Apple Care (who wanted to charge me; I wasn't haven't it) and mobileme support.
The problem is on their end. They have finally identified the problem, and are trying to fix it. They said not to change any settings on the iweb site. They said they should have the problem fixed within 24 hours.
For right now, I've embedded a nabble mini-forum on new posts so that people can comment.

After installing iWeb 08 (vers 2.0.1) - Blog comments missing

Originally my web site was created and maintained by iWeb '06 and resides on my .Mac web space. It contained several blog entries and associated comments (as it's a site I set up to commemorate the death of my partner's son). I've just updated to iWeb 08 and when using it for the first time it asked that the site is updated to work with the new version - which I did. I then published the site (though I'd made no changes). Unfortunately, though the blog entries are still there, all the comments we had received from the site visitors have gone missing.
I don't want to try an re-publish the site until I know whether I've lost forever all the comments. Unfortunately, I've not made a back up for the site for many months (my stupid mistake). Is there anyway of getting these comments back.
Any help will be very gratefully received.

Just updated with iWeb 08 and have the exact same problem. It's a shame when you spend so much time putting together a site and you lose something as valuable as blog comments. I now have dual websites. One updated and the other with comments I want to keep but can't update. Now I have to make everyone know there was also a change in the web address. Bummer. Major disappointment.

Acrobat Reader 9.0 PDF - Commenting property "Not Allowed"

Hi,
I saved a document in Illustrator as PDF but unfortunately the Commenting property is set to "Not Allowed" and I cannot mark-up the file in Acrobat Reader. What is strange is all properties are set to "Allowed" when I open the same document in Acrobat Pro!
Can I do anything in Illustrator or Acrobat Reader in order to have this Commenting property set to "Allowed"?
For info, I am using Illustrator CS2 and Acrobat Reader 9.0

This is normal. Reader cannot normally add comments.
HOWEVER, a file can be prepared in Acrobat Pro (See the Comments menu)
so Reader can add comments. This locks out certain other things: read
the warning carefully.

XML-comments not allowed in IDOC_AAE-Adapter?

we have a File to IDOC scenario and are using the IDOC_AAE adapter for sending IDOCs to the SAP system.
In our mapping we have added some comments into the XML-IDOC-structure.
By sending the document to the SAP-system we are getting the following error:

idoc parsing error: (7) IDOC_ERROR_PARSE_FAILURE: Invalid XML 1.0 character
encountered within IDocXML for type <INVOIC01>:

sourceSnippet=...RCY>^~~~<KUNDEUINR>DEXXXXXXX</KUNDEUINR>^~~~<BSART>INVO</BSART>^~~~^~~... ^
The problem seems to be the <!-- - Tag in the structure.
But the ! (U+0021) is a correct XML 1.0 character. I don't know why the IDOC-XML parser throws this exception.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem is?
When we remove the comments the IDOC could be sent successfully to the SAP system.
Are only IDOC-specific characters allowed here, no comments and no other XML-specific characters and structures?
This would be very strange.

Could you please post the solution for this error. When I provision a user to PeopleSoft, I am getting similar error: com.waveset.util.WavesetException: An error occurred adding user "userID' to resource 'PeopleSoft Component Interface'. com.waveset.util.XmlParseException: XML Error: 1:1: Content is not allowed in prolog.

Does iWeb blogging (comments, etc.) only work when published to .Mac?

The subject says it all, but I was wondering how well the blog features of iWeb work when publishing to a non-.Mac host.
Right now I use WordPress for my blog. Is iWeb's blog feature a reasonable alternative?

The iWeb features which are .Mac only are: Direct one-step uploading, Password protection, Hit counter, Slideshow with viewing controls, and Blog Comments/Searching.
