IWeb not launching...freezes

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here.
Last night, I was working on iWeb just fine...put up a blog post.
This morning, when I tried to launch iWeb, it starts to load (two of the windows open), but the main work area window does not appear, and the application freezes. I have to Force Quit, and it shows that iWeb is "not responding."
Any thoughts on how to fix this? I tried to restore the program from a previous version on Time Machine already...and no dice.

If your network connection is good but access to the web itself has slowed down to a crawl or has temporarily died, iWeb will hang indefinitely on startup. To force it to open under these circumstances, force quit the program, unplug the ethernet cable or turn off airport and open iWeb again.

Should I find this plug-in and delete it? If so, where is it located?

Your OS seems to be 10.5.7 but if you are in fact using Snow Leopard you can have a look at these two fixes....

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff: What version of iPhoto. What version of the Operating System. Details. What were you doing when the problem arose? Did it ever work properly? Step-by-step descriptions of how you got to this issue. If something doesn't work, are there error messages? What happens when you try to do this thing? And what steps have you tried already to solve the issue. With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that a helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner.

Bridge will not launch in Mac OSX 10.6.8

Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard (Mac OS) works fine except for Bridge which will not launch from Photoshop or from Applications, after 2 Uninstall/Reinstalls,and same attempts with new user account. Can anyone help?

You are right. A couple of years ago, I had transferred all MacBook contents (including Photoshop Elements) to a new iMac. A freeze up of the new computer resulted (at Apple's suggestion) in using the old user account (from the MacBook). When I installed the Adobe Creative Suite this fall, Bridge would not launch. After days of frustrating troubleshooting and searching the web in vain, the case with Adobe escalated to Level 3; I spent over 4 hours on the phone with an Adobe expert (in Manila!) before this was solved by creating a new virgin account created (with nothing except the basic iMac software and the Adobe Suite on it. Gun shy of any further adjustments or migrations, I decided to keep the new user account strictly for my Creative Suite work. End of problem. Thanks for getting back to me, and Merry Christmas!

How to make iWeb NOT start up at login?

I did something, somhow, to make iWeb start up at login. I checked the Preferences to find a place to stop this, but Preferences does not deal with automatic login.
QUESTION:
Where do I go to get iWeb not to start up automatically at login?

Well a picture is worth a thousand words...
You see.... all those items that show up in your list
are scheduled to be launched or opened whenever you
login to your account.... and what is the last item
in there??? iWEB!!!!!!!! That is why iWeb is
opening.
The checkboxes only designate which applications are
to be hidden to the background AFTER launching.
Every Application that is on your list is launched
at startup or login.
The answer to your problem? To stop iWeb from
opening every time you startup the computer or login
to your account, you need to highlight iWeb in the
list and the click on the "minus" button to delete it
from the list.

Oh oh. I saw it the minute I laid eyes on the picture: The checks were for hiding the items. But what do you mean, the check is for items that are to be HIDDEN IN THE BACKGROUND AFTER LAUNCHING? What do you mean, hidden? Does that mean that the application pages do not open up in the screen and force you to look at them?
So I now will go and get rid of the the iWeb in that column.

IWeb not allowing me up update my site

i've just updated my site on iWeb. when i click "publish site" it asks me to login to mobileme but i'm already logged in and my account has been transferred to icloud.
the publishing page shows that my idisk is full but my mobile me shows that i have more than 21 gb availabe.
is this a mobile me vs. icloud issue and iweb hasn't been updated?
i'm on iweb 3.0.4
on 10.7.2

If you're finding issues with iWeb (not related to publishning to MobileMe) try the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.

Hi desperate iWork user,
Seems thousand people have the same problem width iWork applications: create keynote or pages document, insert some tables, edit table fields - works fine. Reopening the document, clicking / editing a table cell causes bad crash, everytime, everywhere - whatever you will do to avoid that (reinstall iWork / reinstall Leopard, etc). All along Apple did not give any support to that "mac-killer" problem, I did not found any support site via google. Frustrating!
An hour of confusion passed by, seems I got the ultimate solution:
Apply following permissions to the affected file: read/write for any user (me/staff/everyone).
Can someone confirm this?

Safari won't complete launch, Virex will not launch

Running iMac G5 with Panther (10.3) via Wi fi using Airport base Station.
Virex will not launch. Safari and IE begin launch then freeze. Able to use
Mail and itunes (including Music Store access) as well as "Sherlock".
Problem began after another user installed "update" from Apple.
Initially computer would not boot up. Started in Safe mode and
ultimately deleted and re-installed operating system from original DVD then transferred files/applications from my Powerbook to the iMac.
Powerbook runs fine on same wifi network.

Virex does not seem to be working very well with Mac,look at these links to see if anyof the links relate to your issue. All about Virex
Basically seem it would be best to uninstalled it. The version you have
depends on the Uninstaller you will have to download,if you want to uninstall
it. I would. Then I would update to 10.3.9. It does have some fixes & improvements. The latest update was security for Airport.

Frustrated with lack of fix for LR launch freeze

This LR CC launch freeze issue is frustrating and the inability to get support is unsatisfactory.
The two Adobe solutions do not work.
Numerous uninstall/reinstall do not work.
Impossible to get support on the chat line.
Losing faith in the product.
Just join the long and growing queue I suppose.

Adobe photoshop 8 organizer not launching

My photoshop 8 organizer was working fine, and recently tried to launch it, and not launching now. Editor seems to launch ok, just not he organizer

Premier Pro 2014 will not launch

I've downloaded Premier Pro 2014 and tried to launch it, but it freezes every time and won't even force quit. I have to hard crash the whole computer to get out of it.
I've tried reinstalling, setting the permissions to read/write in the Adobe folder in the library, and tried to reset the preferences on launch as described here. But nothing works.
Also I'm having basically the same problem with After Effects 2014.
I think it has something to do with Media Core, but I can't figure out how to remedy. Earlier versions of PP CC and AEP CC are both working fine. Just these new versions will not launch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Computer is a MacPro, 2.93 Ghz Quad-Core with 10GB of RAM.

It's working! Yay!
Strangely, there is no 8.0 folder in the Plug-ins folder. So I pulled the plugins out of the 7.0>MediaCore folder and then was able to launch PP 2014. After getting it running. I quit PP and dragged the plug-ins back into the 7.0>MediaCore folder and was able to launch PP 2014. And this time it launched with all the plug-ins.
I was also able now to launch After Effects CC 2014 with all its plug-ins working.
Is it possible there's a different file structure for PP 2014 Plug-ins?

OS X 10.6.8 - Maverick Installer not launching

Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 - Installed all software updates prior to downloading Maverick OS X Installer. Installer downloaded but will not launch. Chrome and other applications will not respond (constantly freezes). I have re-downloaded and restarted several times. No change. What happened? Help please!

I discovered right after posting this that the software updates never actually installed. I have downloaded and restarted but the same updates appear when i "check for updates" I don't know if that is related to the Mavericks installer just sitting on my dock and refusing to launch. Chrome was non-responsive and a recent calendar app i downloaded refused to launch. I don't know if any of this is related but my computer was working perfectly before these software updates (or attempted software updates). I finally got Mavericks to install is safe boot. I hope this will smooth things over if it completes...or am I asking for more trouble?

Lightroom will not launch

Downloaded LightroomCC, I select the app but it does not launch the program. Rebooted after download, same issue.

It won't work for me either. It opens, tells me to upgrade my catalog, I accept, it upgrades the catalog and launches, and immediately goes to Not Responding at the launch screen.
Things I have tried:
- Waiting (an hour, nothing)
- Starting a new catalog (still freezes on launch)
- Exiting Creative Cloud
- Logging out and logging back in
- Restarting my computer
Nothing.

IPhoto 06 and Disk Utility will not launch

I have a friend who has upgraded to iLife 06 on her G4 Mirrored Doors and when she tries to launch iPhoto 06 it bounces in the dock and then stops. iWeb will launch, as well as iDVD and iMovieHD, but Disk Utility will not. I have used the Tiger Install DVD to repair permissions as well as run FSCK -fy in single user mode. Nothing seems to fix these problems. Any advice will be appreciated.

Since Disk Utility won't run I'd reinstall the 10.4.8 COMBO updater. Then see if DU will launch. If so repair disk permissions with it. Then see if iPhoto will launch. If not then reinstall iPhoto from the iLife disks, update to 6.0.4 with System update, and then download and run the 6.0.5 updater (it will only run on 6.0.4). Then run Disk Utility again and repair disk permissions.
Before reinstalling however, all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder must be deleted along with the current application.

Annoying MobileMe popup every time iWeb is launched!

Hey all,
Recently did an "Erase and Install" of Leopard and my iApps... inserted my backup Domain file into /Library/Application Support/iWeb, and launch iWeb for the first time. Get a popup saying "Try MobileMe for free!". I hit "No Thanks" every time, but it comes back every time I open iWeb! Switching domain files doesn't work... This does NOT happen when signed into a MobileMe account, and is reproducable (it happened to several Apple Product Experts I spoke to, after they signed out of MobileMe)... any ideas on how to get rid of this?
side note, this didn't happen before my reinstall...

Try using Pref Setter to open the iWeb preference file. Once you have it opened search for "dismissDotMacUpsellWindow". You'll see this:
