IWeb not showing templates???

I need some help! iWeb, for some reason, isn't showing any templates. The only thing under the Site Organizer is "My Site", but nothing drops down from that. Can anyone help me find out what's going on and how to fix it? I was just on iWeb the other day looking around at all the templates, and now they aren't there. Any help/suggestions?

I read in another post that reinstalling iWeb and then updating to 1.1.1 only would bring things back. Do a search for "templates missing" and you should find additional threads on the subject.
You might try just running the 1.1.1 updater and see if that will bring them back. But you might have to start over with a clean iWeb install. If you do be sure to delete all of the files in the HD/Library/Receipts with iWeb in the file name. Then proceed with the installation, update followed by a repair of disk permissions.

  • Iweb not showing published changes in safari

After making changes in iweb I publish them to a local folder and then use Cyberduck to publish them to the Rage server.  The changes do not show up in Safari, yet they do using Firefox and Google Chrome. I have cleared the cache, cleared the history, rebooted numerous time and still nothing.  Any help would be appreciated.

Clear your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reload the page.

  • IWeb NOT showing changes after publishing

I had 2 sites I created with iweb. I made some changes on one, but not only did it not show any changes after I published it but said there was an error. I could access the site when I entered my basic domain name, but not through iweb. I deleted BOTH sites and started from scratch. Saved my work and tried publishing at least 5 different times. It STILL shows my DELETED sites (which I can't even see on my computer because I DELETED THEM!). MobileMe account is current. Domain name current.
Anyone else having these issues? ANy idea what to do?
    Thanks

But did you delete your site folder from MobileMe too? It's all very well deleting your site from iWeb, but if you really want to delete it and start again, you also need to delete your site folder and index file from MobileMe. Log into MobileMe and then go to your iDisk and delete the files from there too and then re-publish from iWeb and your new pages should show.

  • IWeb not showing on tool bar

I've just bought my first iMac and have installed iLife but iWeb does not show up on the tool bar at the bottom, what am I doing wrong.

Hello and welcome to the Apple community,
to have an application showing in the dock (toolbar) just drag&drop it into it.
Go to your Applications folder (Macintosh HD=>Applications) search for iWeb, select it and drag it into the Dock.
To get it out of the dock, select the icon of the app in the dock and move it out of it.

  • IWeb not showing iPhoto library after installing Lion

Hi, can anyone help with this issue ?
Since I have installed Lion, the iPhoto library that showed up on the right hand side of iWeb is not showing up.
Has anyone else also faced this issue after installing Lion ? Is there a solution ?

Thanks for your reply, but the Media is turned ON, I can see the iTunes content but no pictures from iPhoto.
It keeps on showing, "Loading photos".

  • Media in iWeb not showing photos in Photos library

I recently upgraded to Mavericks on my iMac and am now attempting to load more photos to my iWeb website. As a result of Mavericks, my iPhoto library has been imported into the Photos library now and no longer show up in the Media panel of iWeb as they did before. All my audio, movies and widgets are still available in the panel, but no photos are found/displayed. I tried to drag and drop directly from the Photos library to my web page but the photos were not incorporated. Is there a way to connect the new Photos library to iWeb or is there an alternate way to connect these two?

The iWeb app hasn't been updated in about 6 years and was dropped by Apple 3 years ago.  It's just not compatible with the those features in Yosemite.
You can still use iPhoto if up previously had a version of iPhoto o 9.x or later.  Go to the App Store and under Purchases find iPhoto 9.6.1 and download.  That will open the iPhoto library and you'll be able to access it from  within iWeb 3.0.
At this stage you should consider migrating over to a website application that is supported and has all of the new features that iWeb doesn't.  One that many migrated to because it is so like iWeb in it's interface and  features is EverWeb.

I just updated my Safari on my imac to the new 5 version, and suddenly when I view my iweb sites... all pages are ok apart from the gallery pages which are blank! No gallery images show at all....
Anyone have any idea..i went to the mac store and it worked on the mac in store...
but not on both imacs I viewed it on before and after checking at apple shop!
Is it a bug in Safari..or do i need to update 'iweb' or dump safari!

Which worries me as Safari is the official mac and iphone browser.
I have used iweb extensively over the last years, and tinkered with it a lot.

  • Media Browser in iWeb not showing Photos

    Hi
I have read through many of the threads on here from people who seem to have the same problem and tried many of the suggestions, but still do not seem to have improved matters.
I have the message saying that I need to open iPhoto 2 or later. I am running iPhoto 6 and iWeb 1.1.2. I have an iBook G4 with 1GB Ram.
I know it is nothing to do with the little dot and I have also tried deleting various preference files.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks

I am having the same problem in Pages 2, Keynote 3, iWeb, iDVD, iMovie ....etc.
iTunes and iMovie's material will show in the Media Browser in all the above apps. But iPhoto will not. If I move the iPhoto Library to my desktop and open iPhoto it will ask me to build a new library. I do, and in all the above apps I can see iPhoto and the library tree. If I grad some of the picture in the Originals folder on my desktop and put it into the new iPhoto library, it imports them just fine and then I open Pages 2 (Media Browser and there is the iPhoto tree.
Sounds like a solution right? Nope!
When I got back and import the rest of the photos from the Original folder on my desktop the Media Browser "loses" or drops the tree and I am left with the Message, "Open iPhoto 2......"
I then deleted the new iPhoto library, keeping my Originals on the desktop and created yet another blank library, opened Pages 2 or Keynote 3 and again I can see the iPhoto tree.
I went to my desktop and put one folder at a time into the new library via iPhoto, then open up Pages 2 (Media Browser) and I can see the tree. YEAH! Then I went an put another folder from the desktop into iPhoto and the tree in Media Browser goes away.
I have found no reason or particular file to be causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this a Media Broswer error or iPhoto? iWeb?
    Notes:
I ran the test each time by completely opening and closing Pages and iPhoto. I am running iPhoto 6.0.6 and Pages 2.0.2
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   I

  • IWeb not showing .Mac web gallery albums in Web Widgets pull down menu

I'm trying to update a webpage and insert a .Mac Web gallery album using the Web Widgets pull down menu. The problem is the menu isn't offering/showing ALL of my .Mac Web Gallery albums. It shows some and I can insert those, however, it isn't showing all of them. I've tried refreshing the list in iPhoto, but it still won't show in iWeb '08. I've even given it several days to refresh, but to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

Nice, didn't think of that. I went into iPhoto and, in the Settings, changed it from being only viewable to restricted groups. I opened it up to "Everyone" and, back in iWeb, there it appeared in the Web Widget pull down menu. I then inserted the album and published the web page. I then went back to iPhoto re-instated the restrictions in the Advanced settings.
    Thanks.

  • Iweb not showing online for FTP upload

I use Iweb all the time building sites for small business.
Recently it has started to comeback with a "internet not online message"  when I want to upload files to a FTP server.  FYI the same server I have loaded over 40 sites to.  I then have to publish to a folder and upload through Rage SEO Tool.  Which yes works fine but I am concerned there is a creeping corruption in the software.  I do not want to reload the software as I do not have to rebuild all my site again.  I use 3.04.  and use 10.6.8 OSX.
I have Dreamweaver, Worpress, Sandvox, Coffe Cup software.   Iweb is the simplest and the best for what work I do. It has some of the features of the old Adobe Golive. All the others are cumbersome.  I have some site  in Iweb with over 80 pages.
Finally why is Apple going to make me end up buying another company's software to do similar work like Adobe Muse???
    Cheers,  Dean

I do not want to reload the software as I do not have to rebuild all my site again.  I use 3.04.  and use 10.6.8 OSX.
His profile is out of date.  I think he should reset his ftp info in iWeb and try again.

  • Files for iWeb not showing in a reinstall of Application

My hard drive crashed, and Time Machine has apparently not been working correctly under Mountain Lion. None of the Applications were backed up, and so I have to reinstall all apps.
I use iWeb and for ease of finding all the sites so I can upload them to my host, moved them to a folder in the Documents folder that i call Websites-iWeb
    That I did recover.
But now I am reinstaling my iLife 09 and when I start iWeb it can not find my sites. What can i do?

The file you need to use with iWeb is a file named Domain.sites2 (iWeb 3) and by default is located in your Users/~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.
If you do not have a backup copy of that file you'll have to rebuild your website from scratch. Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the creation of the new site.

  • IWeb not showing up in Applications

Went to go mess around with Automator today and found that iWeb is not listed on the left pane under applications. Its in my applications folder and the program works fine. Just wondering if there is a simple way to get it on the list. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Easy-peasy:
    1. Open Automator.
    2. Click the Finder icon in your Dock.
    3. Press Command-Shift-A to open your Applications folder.
    4. Drag iWeb from Finder window and drop in the left hand side of the Automator window.
    5. Stand back and appreciate the simplicity of Mac OS X.
You can drag and drop almost anything in OS X.

  • Templates not showing & unknown publishing error

I have been unable to publish my site, even to a folder and I think the problem could be related to the fact that the templates are not showing (though when I pick one, it works) and the pdf on "getting started" says something like "not available". Do I have to get rid of the published site that I am replacing also, although I do think that is not the problem since I cannot publish to a folder.

    Try the following:
    Quit iWeb
Delete the iWeb preference file Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist.
Restart you Mac and run Disk Utility to repair permissions.
