IWeb not uploading audio content

Hi folks
I've a problem with audio content on my iWeb site. I've created it as a podcast in iWeb and before I upload seem to work fine, including playing the mp3 files I've dropped into it. But when I upload it to .mac the audio content does not seem to appear and I can't figure any way to play it. Hmm, am I doing something stupid?
Thanks for your patience.
David
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

My father was having the same problem, then I realized, when I looked at my website, I too was having the same problem. I'm guessing there was a glitch in the last update that needs to be resolved. Call Apple .Mac support or regular support. They need to be made aware of the problem by as many people as possible so they can know this is happening for many of us. The problem is that iWeb is (for some reaons or another) changing the extention of the audio poscast from .mp4 to .mov. Because of the scripts that are running, and the conficint extentions, the podcasts don't work. If, however, you view the RSS feed of your podcast, the audio should load just fine. This is weird. Apple, please help!!!

  • IWEB not uploading URL correctly

For several days I have been struggling with IWEB to get it to load to my url through ftp. Here is the thing....IWEB makes you do a "site name" and when you do that it becomes the landing URL for example I want people to type in www.photocandy.biz and get to my site. Well I have index for example as my site name and so as a result the url is www.photocandy.biz/index this is what it is defaulting to. I am so frustrated I dont know what to do please help.
    Thank you

What iWeb does is not incorrect - it is the way that iWeb does it and has done it from iWeb 06. It is the site structure that is used like it or not. When published, iWeb creates your Site folder that will be the same name that you gave your site in iWeb and also a separate index.html file and both of these need to be uploaded to your server, so hence your url will be http://www.domain.com/sitename/pagename.
If you want anything different, then you will probably need to download Cyberduck free from the internet. This is a dedicated ftp client. From iWeb use the publish to a folder option and then connect to your host using Cyberduck and rather than uploading the whole site folder and index file, just upload the contents of your site folder. Your url will then be http://www.domain.com/pagename. Note that RSS feeds will not work if you do this as you have broken the site structure.
In iWeb 09, I think it might be possible to do the same with the built in ftp by naming your site either 'public_html", "www", or "htdocs" or whatever your host has for you to upload to. You then leave the directory/path field empty and then upload and you should get just the contents of the folder rather than the hole folder itself.
I have never tried this so don't know whether it works. Although I use 09, I still publish to a folder and upload with Cyberduck.

  • Iweb not publishing changed content

In iweb the "Visit site" button is not enabled and each time I try publishing all my content to www.preppypug.com changes made in iweb are not being published - any suggesstions?

hello i have had the same problem and it was very simple to solve it. Just don't click "Visit Site" button and click "OK" button instead. Then go to your sever and open it, it'd probably already changed your changes. that worked for me. Hope it helps.

  • PrE12 not displaying audio contents.

I've install PrE12 but both music scores and sound effects options are greyed out. How do I get the content to display. I'm using Mac with Mavericks. I also uninstalled Pre11 and chose to uninstall content and preferences prior to install Pre12.

The following is an excerpt (Audio Tab) from my Premiere Elements 12 First Look Blog which detailed the program to the extent that I did a count on the Music Score and Sound Effects files
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/09/premiere-elements-12-first-look-details.html
    Audio.  Gains, Losses.
Premiere Elements 12's Audio Tab in the bottom row of tabs in the workspace is the former Music Tab of version 11. And, the content under the Audio tab is different than that found under 11's Music Tab. The prior version's Music Tab housed 10 thumbnails representing 10 SmartSound soundtracks, each with 30 seconds duration and ready to use plus the text "Use SmartSound" to click on to gain access to the "Sonicfire Pro 5 ET (SmartSound Express Track)" interface where those free and other free SmartSound soundtracks could be customized to fit the duration of the video without compromising the arrangement of the soundtrack. Although the concept of the SmartSound soundtrack remains in version 12 under the Audio Tab, no trace of the SmartSound name was to be found.
Now under Premiere Elements 12's Audio Tab are two major categories, Music Scores and Sound Effects.
Figure 10. Premiere Elements 12. Audio Tab/Music Score And Sound Effects.
Music Score has 7 subcategories and a total of 51 free soundtracks, customizable according to the SmartSound concept. The Music Score subcategories and the number of soundtracks in them are Ambient (6), Atmospheric (8), Blues (2), Country (5), Rock-Pop (22), Urban (4), and Weddings (5).
Sound Effects has 13 subcategories and a total of 267 or 268 free sound effects. The Sound Effects subcategories and the number of sound effects in them are Ambience (49), Animals (10), Cartoon Effects (20), Crashes (10), Fire and Explostions (18), Foley (30), Impacts (20), Industry (10), Liquids (10), Science Fiction (30), Technology (29 or 30), Transportation (11), and Weather (20).
The same Music Score and Sound Effects offerings are available in the Expert and Quick workspaces. All these files appear to be .wav files on Windows and .aiff files on Mac.
Also see Action Bar Menu at top of workspace for access to the display of Audio choices.
The Music Score and Sound Effects folders and files can be found in Windows 7 or 8 64 bit in the path
Local Disc C\Program Data\Adobe\Premiere Elements\12.0\Online. The Online Folder includes a Music Score Folder and a Sound Effects Folder. The Music Score Folder contains an All_Lang Folder which contains folders for the subcategories. Each subcategory folder contains a theme folder which houses the theme's assets. The Sound Effect Folder has a similar sub-structure.
Premiere Elements Audio Tab set up as well as "Sonicfire Pro 5 - ET/SmartSound Express Track/whatever it is called" through the versions will be gone into in more detail soon in the Premiere Elements 12 Daily Discoveries blog post. The names of those 267 or 268 Sound Effects are unbelievable. The "267 or 268" relates back to the finding that the program files showed 30 Sound Effects for the Technology subscategory; whereas, in the program, there were only 29 entries under Technology. The one missing in the program appears to be "Electron Camcorder Panasonic Dvx100 Placing Battery On Camera Fast".
Did you install your Premiere Elements 12 with antivirus and firewalls turned off? That could be a factor.
But first let us look at what Music Score and Sound Effects files you actually find on the computer hard drive at this time.
The path to them is mentioned in the excerpt above (I have made that path text bold).
Please review the above and then we can decide what next. I do not recall any building over time for those Music Score and Sound Effects under the Premiere Elements 12 Audio Tab.
Once we know what is actually on the hard drive for these files, our path to a solution to the problem will be clearer.
    Thanks.

  • IWeb not uploading one of three .jpg images?

I am updating my web page, and I have 3 jpg files that are part of the page. The first and third upload fine, but the second refuses to upload. I either get a "File Format is Invalid" message, or a message stating that "img_0031 could not be uploaded because the disk may be corrupted, or full" or something along those lines. I am extremely confused.
    Thanks!

One thing to try : instead of using 'process multiple files', can you use the 'export' feature in the Organizer to export the jpegs of that category in psd format into a new folder ?

  • IPhoto not uploading shared content to iCloud

I was uploading a large number of pics to my iMac when I ran out of storage.  The local Apple shop helped get me an external drives and then transfer over the pics that I had.  Since this happened, I'm unable to share anything on iCloud.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  I've selected the pics, entered in the email addresses and nothing goes out to friends/family.  Thanks

I don't see an option for Managed library in my advanced settings.
Managed is copying the image files into the library during import. The right side of the screenshot  above.
Is the EHD formatted as shown below:
Try the following to see if it will jump start the PS and get emails delivered:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • Mail migration assistant did not upload old messages in inbox during upgrad

The mail migration assistant did not upload the contents of old messages stored in my inbox for mail in panther to tiger. It uploaded drafts and sent mail messages and even the husks of the messages themselves into the new inbox but not their contents, not the information contained in the messages themselves. I see that the old messages are accessible via spotlight but only their external identification remains in the new inbox, not what was in them. Is their anyway to rerun mail migration assistant or the mail setup assistant (whatever it may be called) so that it uploads all of messages from my old inbox under panther to the new inbox under tiger? I believe that while running initaially soon after I launched mail for the first time under tiger, the migration assistant for mail quit early, maybe because I had many messages stored in my inbox.
So my basic question is, is it possible to rerun the program that migrates mail from the old inbox under panther to the new inbox under tiger? If it's not, is it possible to first of all empty out the current inbox with its group of the external skeletal remains of messages but lacking their substance, the information contained in them, and then refill my current inbox with the entirety of the message, i.e., not just its identifying information, its external identification (from whom and about what), but also what the message at one time contained? In each of these messages it only has this bit of information: "The message from 'such and such a sender' with 'such and such a subject' has not downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it." But of course I am online. The online bit I supose the message is about is the being online with the migration assistant, and that's the being online I would really like to go back to I suppose, before it seems to me this mail migration assistant quit on me prematurely, without uploading or downloading, whatever the term, the entire content of my inbox with its batch of received messages. In the process, it did, however, capture the entirety of my drafts and sent messages from their particular boxes.
Please help. How can I redo the migration step from panther mail inbox to tiger mail inbox so that my mail is in its inbox and reachable there as opposed to apparently being searchable by only spotlight?
    Thank you.

I am having a similar problem. I just upgraded from 10.2.8 to 10.4.3. It didn't go well (a USB peripheral interfered)and I ended up upgrading while archiving users.
There was no 'restore users opportunity'. I have done a lot manually, which is painful...in fact reminiscent of why I don't like PC's. Anyway, I was able to locate and restore almost all the mailboxes, including a bunch of deleted files from the 'Previous Systems' folders. I still haven't found the secret location of all the email that was in the "Inbox".
I would greatly appreciate it if someone in the know could share where and how to restore my old inbox so I can get my important emails back. Hacking or magic software...what ever it takes.
    Thanks

  • Audio plays in iWeb, not in Safari

    Hello all,
I had done a little page in iWeb with an audio file, but in QTPro, so it was about 14 megs as a .mov.
Since I had not tried any compressing or exporting of audio files, I published it to iWeb with that 14 meg audio file.
It worked very well, a few friends checked it out for me - and we found it took very long to load, so I set out to learn compression.
I converted it to MPEG4 and got it nicely down to 2.6 megs.
Tonight I deleted, in iWeb 1.1.1, the original ,mov file, and I dragged in the smaller MPEG4 file.
It works great in iWeb, but when I publish, then visit the site, the audio loads and that is about it -- it just sits there, cannot be clicked to play at all. My husband tried it too, and nothing.
I need to know why it suddenly won't play on the little webpage. If I could do it successfully once, why not twice? It is an MPEG4 thing? I really do want a smaller audio file if possible...
    Thanks for any help!

You know what I just noticed? Your movie/quicktime audio controller is all the way down past the footer area of the page (where the next and previous buttons live). Try dragging the quicktime box so that it does not extend or overlap into the footer. You may have to adjust the values for page content in the Inspector under the page tab. I think this may solve your problem.
Alternatively, I suppose you could "shorten" the width of the next and previous link boxes so that they do not overlap the quicktime controller. But for cleanliness, the content should not extend into the footer area.
If any of this has been helpful to you, please consider marking my individual replies as either "helpful" or "solved" with the little buttons in the title bars of each reply. Thanks.

  • I purchased audio book from iTunes store. It shows up in my iTunes library but is not uploading to my ipod Touch, even though my computer is authorized. Any suggestions?

I purchased an audio book from iTunes store. It successfully downloaded to my iTunes library< but will not upload to my ipod Touch, even though my computer is authorized. Any suggestions? Any and all are greatly appreciated.

If your iTunes is set on manual sync, then you have to manually drag and drop. Otherwise every time yousyncyou'll get all changes even if you don't want it.

  • In trying to transfer iWeb pages (not uploaded) to another computer I went into the library and transferred the domain onto the desktop. Disaster! On opening iWeb all previous (uploaded) sites have disappeared. Help!

In trying to transfer iWeb pages (not uploaded) to another computer I went into the Library and transferred the domain onto the desktop. Disaster! On opening iWeb all previous (uploaded) sites have disappeared. On opening the domain all I can recover is the many component parts, and when unzipped the code. Help! Mike

Code in a domain file - really?  That is not possible because the domain.sites file does not contain any html or css code at all - the domain file is your iWeb data file and you won't see any code until you publish your website.
If you can see html code, then you have the wrong file and it is a published version of your site which iWeb can do nothing with - iWeb has no import facility so cannot open any html files.
Go back and ensure that you have the correct domain.sites files that can be found under your User Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites and if you have Mavericks then you need to go to Go and press the alt key to reveal your hidden User Library, so that you can then get to Application Support and then iWeb and then your domain.sites file.
You will also need to go and download either DomainCracker or iWebSwitch which allows you to open individual domain files under Mavericks, because from Lion onwards, you cannot open individual domain files.
Also, it says that you are still using iWeb 08?  If this is so, you'll either need to upgrade to iWeb 09 by going to Amazon and purchasing the iLife 09 or 11 boxed set, both of which contain iWeb 09 or you need to switch to newer software that is actively being supported and developed such as EverWeb (http://www.everwebapp.com).

  • Audio tab in iWeb shows no audio files

I'm using iWeb 3.0.4 I wanted to add some audio content to a page but the Audio Tab shows no music to pick from. I thought it comes from my iTunes library.
The Photos and Widgets Tabs seem to work.
    Any suggestions?

You can get the files from Home folder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music
Note that dragging audio files from iTunes can cause problems with the files not loading on the web page.
Its better to bring them in from the Finder and better still to upload them to the server and use an alternative player...

  • Iweb not loading properly to server?

Hi I have used Dreamweaver in the past but decided to try iweb this time. I built a site www.southernlakestravel in iweb and have both published it to a local folder for safe-keeping and also to my webserver (2day.com) . I have also tried to ftp the site in dreamweaver. My problem is that all the fites load onto the server (whether published directly from iweb or via dreamweaver ftp) BUT I can almost never get the navigation bar to show up - just appears as a little dot on the top left side. I also note a lot of the images are not loading properly. If I resize them in photoshop to fit then it seems to be more secure. When I look at my files serverside and remoteside I have the folder name, the index file then the subfolder name with all the page files and a second index file and the script files. I notice that the script files include a js navigation menu. Is there a problem with the heirarchy of these files and whether the main index page can "pull these". Should the server be looking to document or root folder. I am at my wits end to know what to do. I can click on links between pages (click on activities in the above page and then go to some of the links shown), but basically the pages load without the iweb style navigation menu showing up at all and with many of the photos only half showing. Also, why does it become southernlakestravel/southernlakestravel?
I am about to give up on iweb.
    Meg.

You have the double domain name because the second one is your site name - you gave your site this name in iWeb and you can change it to something shorter and more suitable and then this won't happen.
As you have seen, it is the way that iWeb works - when you publish to a local folder, iWeb produces a site folder with a separate index.html file - there is another index.html file inside the site folder itself so what you need to do is upload the site folder to the root folder and then you upload hte separate index file that will sit outside the site folder and point in towards it.
The iWeb page template navigation menu is javascript based and sometimes if there is a black dot, this means that all the files are not being uploaded to the server correctly.
It would suggest that you publish your site to a local folder and then view your site by opening the html pages and seeing if there is a problem there before you upload your site.
i would then suggest that you then use something other than Dreamweaver to upload your site - download Cyberduck for free - this is a dedicated ftp programme and may be better than Dreamweaver for uploading. With Cyberduck, you can see exactly where everything is being uploaded to.
In the end, if you really want to eliminate your site name, then you can - you just need to upload the contents and the contents only of your site folder.  This means that you will not need the extra index file - simply select all the contents of your site folder and upload these with the index file that is in there already.  If you do this your url will just be http://www.domain.com/page name.html without the site name at all.

  • IMovies work in iWeb, but uploaded pages are blank

So, I'm trying to get a movie onto a webpage in iWeb. I try both exporting the file as a .MV4 or just using the integrated "Movies" tab. Everything looks great in iWeb--movie plays, etc. Publish the site changes? Nothing. Not even the dreaded Quicktime 'Q' of doom.
    Here's the page...
    http://jimminyclippers.com/JimminyClippers/GoldenRescue.html
    Any ideas?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do the movies play when you publish the site to a folder on your hard drive and play the site locally? If so that's proof that the movie file is not getting uploaded to the server. Where are you hosting the site and what are you using to upload the site?
If you're using iWeb's built in ftp client try using the free Cyberduck and upload the contents of the folder to which you published locally, i.e. the site folder and index.html file. With Cyberduck you can check to see if the movie is on the server and, if not, manually upload it to the correct folder, usually the site's Media folder.

  • IWeb FTP upload

I'm having a significant problem uploading using iWeb's FTP functionality.
It has no problem connecting to the site. It goes through the process of uploading the content. The folders with the images and css files all seem to be uploading correctly. The uploading indicator slowly goes around until it gets to about the last 10% or less and then it stalls and just sits there and sits there and sits there and never seems to finish. It doesn't look as if it's actually loading any pages.
Does anybody have any idea what might be going on?
    Thanks very much.
    All the best,
    Tom

Thanks. I have been using Transmit but wanted to test the iWeb function. It's still stuck were it was. I'm not sure how long I'm going to stick with it before writing it off as a lost cause. Seems strange that Apple can't manage something as simple as FTP software. It's more than 20 years since Fetch could do this.
    Thanks again.

  • How do you get iWeb not to reload my entire page?

How do you get iWeb not to reload my entire page content when clocking on internal links? Sometimes I just want to change one picture from one page to the next and want the remaining aspects of the site to stay as is so that your web browser essentially only loads one image and keeps the other stuff. I have seen this on basically all pro websites. THANKS!
    Joel

What version of iWeb are you using? Also what system?  What are you using to upload the site files to the server?
